중년 여성의 식사섭취 상태와 갱년기 증상 관련 요인 분석 (The Analysis of the Dietary Factors Related to Climacteric Symptoms in Middle-aged Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the dietary intakes in middle-aged women(pre and postmenopausal) and relation to climacteric symptoms. We conducted the anthropometric measurements, climacteric symptoms survey, and dietary intake to assess the nutrient intakes. Also, dietary quality indices were evaluated. The subjects, over 40 years old, were 168 middle aged women(pre=74, postmenopausal=94), mean age was $48.9{\pm}3.6yr$. The anthropometric measurements showed that 59% of subjects were overweight and obese. Climacteric symptoms that were answered 'yes' in 50% plus in the subjects, were dry eyes, forgetfulness, difficult concentration, large joint pain(shoulder), fatique, backache, dry skin, joint pain(ankle and knee), dry mouth, dizziness, depression and lonesomeness, snore, morning stiffness, and hot flash. Some symptoms showed significant difference between pre and postmenopausal groups. The average energy intake was 1602.1 Kcal, which was 82% of the Korean EER. The subjects had lower vitamin A, riboflavin, folic acid, Fe, Zn and Ca intake than Korean RI. The lowest nutrient intake was Ca. The mean of food intake was 1294.2 g and MAR of diet quality indices was 0.83. In relation to dietary factors with climacteric symptoms, significant correlations have been found between total protein, animal protein, lipid, cholesterol and niacin intake and 'fatique', energy, carbohydrate, thiamin, vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin C, Na, K and Fe intake and 'dry skin', Ca intake and 'difficult concentration'. Our results indicate that dietary factors(food and nutrients intake, INQ, NAR, MAR) may effect the prevention and reduction of some climacteric symptoms in middle aged women.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of moxibustion on the stress urinary incontinence for middle-aged women. The study was performed with the nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design from April 14 thru June 16, 2003. Methods: The subjects are 60 middle-aged women with stress urinary incontinence which are composed of 30 in the experimental group and another 30 in the control group. The moxibustion procedure was applied to the experimental group in a week, and then the level of stress urinary incontinence was measured by using the revised Hendrickson's scale. Results: The results of this study are as follows: 1. Average period of stress urinary incontinence is 4.12 years, and the level of stress urinary incontinence is predominant in the mild state(63.3%), and the frequency of stress urinary incontinence is mostly 2-6 times per week(70%). 2. Hypothesis: Stress urinary incontinence will decrease for the experimental group as compared with for the control group: accepted(t=-5.113, p=0.000). Conclusion: Based on the results described above, it is considered that the moxibustion might be very effective oriental nursing intervention for improving the stress urinary incontinence for the middle-aged women.

중년여성의 복부비만관리 프로그램 효과 (A Study on the Effects of Abdominal Obesity Management Program in Middle Aged Women)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of obesity management program in food attitude and food habit, body composition(body fat ratio, body fat weight, lean body mass, total body water), abdominal girth(waist, hip, thigh), and serum lipid level(cholesterol, low density lipoprotein, triglyceride, phospholipid, NE fatty acid, high density lipoprotein) of middle aged women. Data for the study were collected from July 4 to August 25, 2000. The study objects were 20 middle aged women(10 controls and 10 experimental objects) from 40 to 50 years old who had body fat ratio more than $30\%$ and waist girth more than 80cm. The results were as follows: 1. Similarity test between experimental group and control group processed by serum HDL level showed the significant difference(t=3.25, p=0.004), but that processed by age, body weight, body fat ratio, body fat weight, lean body mass, total body water, waist girth, hip girth, thigh girth, cholesterol level, LDL level, triglyceride level, NE fatty acid level, food attitude and food habit score showed no significant difference(p>0.05). These findings imply that the two groups are similar in the sample distribution. 2. The effects of the abdominal obesity management program The obtained results indicate that the abdominal obesity management program in middle aged women changes the food attitude & the food habit. decreases the body fat ratio & the body fat weight and increases the lean body mass, and decreases the girth of waist & hip and the serum level of cholesterol & LDL. Therefore, it is concluded that the abdominal obesity management program can be applied for nursing intervention to decrease the body fat weight and abdominal obesity.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 우리춤 체조 적용한 중년여성의 건강의 변화를 질적 방법을 적용하여 분석하여 우리춤 체조가 중년여성의 갱년기 증상과 건강 증진에 미치는 영향에 대한 이해를 돕고자 하는 것이다. 연구 대상자는 D시에 있는 우리춤 체조 학원과 복지회관을 이용하여 우리춤 체조를 배우고 있는 중년여성 9명을 대상으로 면담 후 녹취하여 질적 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, '우리춤 체조를 건강증진 방법으로 선택함', '나도 모르게 변화된 건강', '변화된 신체상으로 생긴 자신감', '가족의 지지와 호응을 얻음' 등 4개의 범주가 도출되었다.

중년여성의 견갑통 통증완화를 위한 부항과 뜸 겸용요법의 적용효과 (Effects of the BUDDEUMI Therapy on the Relief of Shoulder Pain among Middle Aged Women)

  • This study is to determine the effects of BUDDEUMI(moxibustion and cupping a boli) therapy on the relief of shoulder pain among middle aged women. methods : A total of 39 middle aged women with shoulder pain are selected : 20 in the experimental group and 19 in the control group. The data was collected by using questionnaires. The BUDDEUMI(moxibustion and cupping a boli) therapy on the should and back was administered to the experimental group, and no treatment was given to the control group. All of the subjects were examined on a subjective symptom scale and on the grade of discomfort and pain in everyday life as developed by Japan's Industrial Fatigue Research Committee of the Industrial Hygienics Society(1988), Sohn, Mong Ho(1999), Visual Analogue Scale as developed by Cline (1992). SPSS/win 12.0 was used for Date analysis, General features demonstrated by frequency number and percentage. The effects of the BUDDEUMI(moxibustion and cupping a boli) therapy was analyzed by a t-test. The homogeneity testing revealed that all study variables are equally distributed between experimental and control groups. The hypothesis, 'the experimental group who received BUDDEUMI(moxibustion and cupping a boli) therapy will decrease in the grade of discomfort of shoulder', is supported. The hypothesis, 'the experimental group who received BUDDEUMI(moxibustion and cupping a boli) therapy will decrease in the Visual Analogue Scale is supported. Conclusion : As a result of this study, BUDDEUMI(moxibustion and cupping a boli) therapy will be able to be used as the self care therapy to improve the symptoms of middle aged women who has the shoulder pain.

자전거 운동이 비만 중년여성의 염증관련인자 및 성장호르몬에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Bicycle Exercise on Inflammation Related Factor and Growth Hormone in Obese Middle aged Women)

  • 본 연구는 비만 중년여성을 대상으로 8주간 자전거 운동을 통한 염증관련인자와 성장호르몬의 변화를 분석함으로써 자전거 운동의 효과를 규명하고 효율적인 운동을 위한 과학적 근거를 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 15명의 비만 중년 여성들은 자전거 운동군과 통제군으로 구분하여 8주간 주당 3회 60분간 자전거를 이용한 유산소 운동 프로그램을 실시하였다. 측정변인으로는 염증관련인자와 성장호르몬의 변화를 분석하였으며 통계처리는 이원 반복측정 분산분석(two-way ANOVA with repeated measure)을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 염증관련인자는에서 $TNF-{\alpha}$ 및 IL-6는 운동군에서 유의한 감소를 보였으며 통제군에서 증가하였다. 성장호르몬은 운동군에서 증가하였으나 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으며 통제군에서 감소하였다. 이와 같은 결과는 본 연구에서 실시한 자전거 운동이 비만 중년여성들의 심혈관계 및 만성질환을 예방 할 수 있는 운동 프로그램이라고 사료된다.

중년여성의 유머감각, 유머대처, 스트레스 지각 및 자아존중감과의 관계 (The Relationship between Sense of Humor, Coping with Humor, Perceived Stress and Self-esteem in the Middle-aged Women)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify the relationship between Sense of Humor, Coping Humor, Perceived stress and self-esteem in the middle-aged women. Methods: Data were collected from the 20th of June to the 30th of August in 2009 from 145 middle-aged women living in Seoul. Data analysis was done with SPSS/WIN 12.0 program for descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. Results: The mean score of the humor sense was $55.94{\pm}6.52$, coping humor was $21.11{\pm}3.82$, perceived stress was $22.21{\pm}3.03$ and self-esteem was $27.50{\pm}2.88$. Subcategories of sense of humor were that emotional expressiveness was average $20.75{\pm}2.70$, meta-message sensitivity was average $20.12{\pm}2.74$ and liking of humor was average $15.13{\pm}3.44$. Sense of humor was difference according to the economic status(t=2.000, p=.047), coping humor was difference according to the on medication use(t=2.227, p=.027). There was a significant correlation between the coping humor, perceived stress and the self-esteem. When the coping humor was higher, perceived stress was lower and the self-esteem was higher. Conclusion: This study showed that medication and economic status influences the humor scores and the sense of humor and coping humor were related to perceived stress and self-esteem in middle-aged women Therefore, these findings can provide the basis for the development of nursing intervention to increase the ability to coping with stress.

중년여성의 벨리댄스 참여에 따른 패션·뷰티관여도 (An Analysis of Middle-Aged Women's Involvement in Fashion and Beauty Depending on Their Participation in Belly Dance)

  • Today, people are obsessed with fashion, makeup, hair care, weight control, and plastic surgery. In order to be satisfied with their appearance and attract attention, they invest so much time and money. The core values of many people are influenced heavily by materialism and appearance. Belly dancing is effective not only in just weight loss, but it also improves the health and corrects body postures like pelvis correction, and it also gives the dancers the pleasure of dancing to exotic music. A growing number of women in their 40s or older and senior citizens have become maniacs of belly dancing. The studies suggest that the participation in belly dancing helps increase life satisfaction and self-respect of the middle aged who often suffer from depression. Belly dancing has a strong effect in the life style of the middle-aged women. The costume and accessories necessary for belly dancing class help the participants) focus on the dance. These costumes and accessories reflect the desire of the wearer to be recognized in society. It is well shown in belly dancing that "fashion and beauty related services and products are used as an indicator to tell social status and position of the wearer as external elements like clothes, accessories, and physical appearance and have a highly important effect on interactions among people in society as a means of expressing oneself". In this respect, this study aims to examine middle-aged women's involvement in fashion and beauty depending on their participation in belly dancing.

발레 바와 탄성밴드의 복합운동이 중년여성의 신체조성, 체력, 자세교정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Ballet Bar and Elastic Band Exercise on Body Composition, Physical Fitness and Postural Correction in Middle-Aged Women)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a combined exercise program using a ballet bar and elastic bands on the body composition, physical strength, and postural correction of middle-aged women. Methods : The subjects were 28 middle-aged women with no ballet experience. They were divided into an experimental group (n=14; exercise group) and a control group (n=14; non-exercise group) through random sampling. The experimental group underwent an exercise program using a ballet bar and elastic bands for 50 minutes twice a week for 12 weeks, whereas the control group performed no exercise. The subjects in both group had their body composition, physical fitness, and postural angles measured before and after the intervention. A paired t-test was used to compare pre- and post-test values within each group, and a two-way repeated measures ANOVA was employed to compare pre- and post-test changes between the two groups. Results : Regarding body composition, statistically significant differences in BMI (p<.05), body fat percentage (p<.001), and muscle mass (p<.001) were observed between the two groups before and after the intervention. For physical fitness, the experimental group showed statistically significant increases in quick reflexes (p<.001), muscle endurance (p<.001), and muscle strength (p<.001). For postural correction, the experimental group exhibited statistically significant decreases in all variables: the head (p<.001), shoulder (p<.001), cervical tilt (p<.001), right-left pelvic tilt (p<.001), and anterior-posterior pelvic tilt (p<.001). Conclusion : A combined exercise program using a ballet bar and elastic bands had positive effects on the body composition, physical fitness, and postural correction of middle-aged women.

중년여성의 신체부위 인지유형에 따른 신체만족도와 착의 의복 스타일 (Body Cathexis and Actual Clothing Styles of Middle-aged Women According to Perception of Their Body)

  • This study is designed for improving wearing styles for middle-aged women who are in unsatisfactory body types and also providing the basic information about the suitable clothing designs for them. This study focuses on what kinds of body types they perceive, what the differences are between the perception of their body types and the real ones, and how the actual clothing styles can be affected by those perceived body types. This study is based on the survey of the perception of body types, the clothing styles, and the satisfaction level of body cathexis, while measuring body size of each person responded. The data were analyzed by Mean, ANOVA, Duncan-test of SPSS Win. (ver 10.1)program. The results are as follows: 1. The perception of their body types can be categorized into three clusters, the obesity, the arm & leg obesity, the slender. 2. By and large, Middle-aged women perceive their body types exactly what they we. However, they show a relatively subjective view on the upper arm girth, ankle girth, and arm length 3. The abdomen is at the lowest satisfactory part in body cathexis for the entire groups responded, and there are some differences among the perception of their body types in whole body silhouette and trunk. 4. Middle-aged women who perceive themselves as a bit slender show a tendency of having tight and revealing clothing styles, while the obese who perceived themselves wouldn't take them as appropriate dresses.
