  • Non-tuberculous mycobacterium has a wide-spread occurrence in nature, and skin, soft tissue, bone, lung and disseminated infection can be involved. Non-tuberculous mycobacterium infection occurs both in immunocompetent patients without underlying diseases and in immunocompromised hosts. Non-tuberculous mycobactrial osteomyelitis is a rare cause of granulomatous osteomyelitis, and has been previously reported in the sternum, spine, humerus, femur, tibia or metatarsal. Mycobacterium abscessus osteomyelitis is a very rare infection in the foot and only 1 case has been reported. Authors report a case of Mycobacterium abscessus osteomyelitis involving the tarsal and metatarsal bones in a non-immunocompromized middle aged women.

  • The integrative Internet program was developed for the selection of optimal brassiere components according to the breast types of middle-aged women. In this program, a customer is classified into a certain group through three steps of a discriminant analysis. Three variables used in the analysis include breast volume, radii of curvature of under-breast curve, and a distance between inner breast points. Using individual data of three variables, the optimal brassiere components, i.e. brassiere cup size, curvature of front panel and wire, distance between cups, are suggested for each customer. Discrimination of breast types using only 2D measurements is also included for those who do not have easy access to a 3D measurement device.

  • This study was performed to provide fundamental data on middle-aged women's upper torso by classifying the upper torso somatotype and analyzing the characteristics of their somatotype. Factor analysis of principal component model was used to 38 directly measured items, and cluster analysis was applied for classification of upper torso forms. Seven factors were extracted from the factor analysis. The first factor represented the items of circumference, breadth, and depth which were related with body size. On the basis of the cluster analysis using factor scores trom factor analysis as being independent variables, the subjects were classified into three groups. Three dress forms were constructed according to the characteristics for each somatotype of subjects, the three-dimensional characteristics of somatotype were analyzied by the moire pattern and horizontal section map of proposed dress forms. Wearing test by moire topography was used to evaluate wearing outline, the ease of clothes and garment space. Moire pattern and horizontal section map were useful to evaluate wearing conditions, and garment space was changed by the characteristics of the body shape.

  • In this study we manufactured mulberry fruit tea(MFT) to be used as an anti-inflammatory agent. Here, MFT was consumed by thirty middle-aged women with symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis for 4 weeks. The anthropometric measurements and serum inflammatory factors were measured before and after consumption of the MFT. For the anthropometric measurements, BMI and body fat decreased after 4 weeks of tea consumption although there were no significant differences. The serum inflammatory factors(uric acid and homocysteine) as well as serum amino transferase activity(aspartate trans-aminase and alanine transaminase) showed a decreasing trend. In addition, serum carbon reactive protein(CRP) decreased significantly decreased after MFT consumption 4 weeks. It's concluded that this MFT is helpful to for rheumatyroid arthritis patients in order to decrease serum inflammatory factors such as CRP.

  • Hemifacial spasm is a distressing condition characterized by involuntary, intermittent, unilateral twitching of, all or parts, of the muscles innervated by facial nerve. This ailment is most common among middle-aged women. Neither causative agent nor reliable treatment has been established because etiology of idiopathic hemifacial spasm has remained undefined to date. This report describes two cases of hemifacial spasm treatment by injection of Botulinum toxin. An injection of Botulinum toxin provided relief of hemi facial spasm. Botulinum toxin therapy is an effective and convenient treatment of hemifacialspasm.

  • Sleep disordered breathing is highly prevalent in the elderly and affects older men and women similarly. Nocturia, cardiovascular diseases, cognitive impairment, traffic accidents and repeated falls are common manifestations of sleep apnea in the elderly and sleep study may be indicated in these patients. When a sleep study is planned, reliable markers of respiratory efforts and a tibial EMG should be included because central sleep apneas and periodic leg movements are common in the elderly patients. Although cardiovascular morbidity and mortality seem to be lower in the elderly than in middle-aged adults, these may not be as low as commonly believed. Excessive daytime sleepiness, cognitive dysfunction and nocturia can be improved by effective treatment with continuous positive airway pressure and a therapeutic trial should be recommended to all symptomatic patients. It is still unclear whether sleep apnea in older adults is a specific entity or the same disease as in younger adults. Further clinical research is warranted.

  • Home meal replacements (HMR) are kinds of convenient foods as cooked or semi-cooked foods, which are produced outside of home, to eat directly or after simple cooking in substitution for traditional home meals. Recently the market size for HMR is expanding rapidly around the world due to the changes of global consumer trends, growth of single-person household, increase in economic participation of women, aging population, and so on. The Europe takes over 52.4% of the global market share for HMR in global HMR market, and North America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa-Middle East are following. The most popular HMR products in US and Europe are frozen foods, whereas the market share of chilled products in Asia including Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam are much higher than that in US and Europe. Currently, the trends in HMR is focus on the expansion of the list of products that replace for meals with simple cooking, but it is expected that nutrition-enforced HMR product for aged persons or patients who live alone are requested for the further growth of the HMR market.

  • This study intends to provide a beneficial foundation which can aid our understanding of how a clothing consumer group can be classified according to the clothing buying motives, and what differences are there about the importances of stroe image attribute among them and how consumer's preferences to the store image are shown differently among them and ultimately, some concrete data which can be useful in establishing efficient store image strategies for clothing stores. 413 subjects were gathered through convenience sampling method and, for data analysis, cronbach'$\alpha$, frequency, percentage, mean, $x^{2}-text$, 1-test, ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range Test, Factor Analysis, Cluster Analysis were conducted. The results are as follows; 1. Three kind of factors in the clothing buying motives were determined for analysis of consumers group and by which it was revealed as to be significant for us to classify them four subdivisions; those of fashion pursuit group, self display group, financial utilitarian group, individual group. 2. Importance on store image attribute was revealed then the middle aged women regarded quality, price, service in order as more important factors than others. 3. Store image preferences show significantly when concerned with quality, price, fashion, impression and age of store personnel, convenience for exchanging and returning goods, credit, delivery and repair, mailing of catalogue and discount coupon, exit from, brightness of store among consumer groups. From these findings, concretely store image strategies are proposed.
