미생물부숙퇴비의 상토 혼합처리가 토마토, 고추 유묘의 생장에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Compost Mixed with Microorganism Compost Fermented on the Seedlings Growth of Tomato and Red Pepper)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of compost mixed with microorganism compost fermented for the production of high quality plug seedlings of tomato and red pepper. The results are summarized as follows. As a result of compost analysis, EC value was increased with increment of microorganism compost supplemented but lowered gradually in the late period of seedlings growth, pH value of microorganism compost fermented was 9.3 which is strong alkalinity. In the plot of 30 percent of microorganism compost fermented early growth of tomato seedlings was better in terms of plant height, leaf area and total dry weight. However, early growth of red pepper seedlings was shown in the plot of supplemented with 20 percent of microorganism compost fermented. The higher the mixing rate over 60 percent of micrroganism compost fermented to the soil used retarded the seedlings growth regardless of tomato and red pepper.

  • The objective of this study was to examine the effect of polymer coating on the initial microorganism attachment and the biofilm growth. Such as nonion(polyacrylamine), anion(CMC-Na) and cation polymer coagulant(chitosan and PEI) were used for coating material of the support carrier(acryl plate). When polymer coagulant was coated with 5, 10, 20, 35, 50, 100 and 200 mg/l on the surface of acryl plate, initial microorganism attachment increased and optimum concentration for the attachment was 35 mg/l. Biofilm growth experiments were conducted with the substrate loading of 12.7gSCOD/$m^2\cdot$ day using RBC. The polymer coagulants such as CMC-Na, polyacrylamide, PEI and chitosan coating on the acryl plate facilitated the biofilm growth of microorganisms. Until the biofilm dry weight grows up to 0. 0038g/cm$^2$, biofilm growth on the plate coated with cation polymer like chitosan was better than that on the coated plate of nonion(polyacrylamine), anion(CMC-Na) polymer coagulant.

Evaluation on the implications of microbial survival to the performance of an urban stormwater tree-box filter

  • Most of the studies about stormwater low impact development technologies used generalized observations without fully understanding the mechanisms affecting the whole performance of the systems from catchment to the facility itself. At present, these LID technologies have been treated as black box due to fluctuating flow and environmental conditions affecting its operation and treatment performance. As such, the implications of microbial community to the overall performance of the tree-box filter were investigated in this study. Summer season was found to be the most suitable season for microorganism growth since more microorganism were found during this season. Least microorganism count was found in spring because of the plant growth during this season since plant penology influences the seasonal dynamics of soil microorganisms. Litterfall during fall season might have affected the microorganism count during winter since, during this season, the compositional variety of soil organic matter changes affecting growth of soil microbial communities. Microbial analyses of sediment samples collected in the system revealed that the most dominant microorganism phylum is Proteobacteria in all the seasons in both inlet and outlet comprising 37% to 47% of the total microorganism count. Proteobacteria was followed by Acidobacteria, Actinobacteria and Chloroflexi which comprises 6% to 20%, 9% to 20% and 2% to 27%, respectively of the total microorganism count for each season. These findings were useful in optimizing the design and performance of tree box filters considering physical, chemical and biological pollutant removal mechanisms.

미생물혼합제제 처리가 토양의 미생물상과 화학적 특성 및 시설 채소 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Microorganism Mixture Application on the Microflora and the Chemical Properties of Soil and the Growth of Vegetables in Greenhouse)

  • BACKGROUND: The urgency of feeding the world's growing population while combating soil pollution, salinization and desertification requires suitable biotechnology not only to improve crop productivity but also to improve soil health through interactions of soil nutrient and soil microorganism. Interest in the utilization of microbial fertilizer has increased. A principle of nature farming is to produce abundant and healthy crops without using chemical fertilizer and pesticides, and without interrupting the natural ecosystem. Beneficial microorganisms may provide supplemental nutrients in the soil, promote crop growth, and enhance plant resistance against pathogenic microorganisms. We mixed beneficial microorganisms such as Bacillus sp. Han-5 with anti-fungal activities, Trichoderma harziaum, Trichoderma longibrachiatum with organic material degrading activity, Actinomycetes bovis with antibiotic production and Pseudomonas sp. with nitrogen fixation. This study was carried out to investigate the mixtures on the soil microflora and soil chemical properties and the effect on the growth of lettuce and cucumber under greenhouse conditions. METHODS AND RESULTS: The microbial mixtures were used with each of organic fertilizer, swine manure and organic+swine manure and compared in regard to changes in soil chemical properties, soil microflora properties and crop growth. At 50 days after the treatment of microorganism mixtures, the pH improved from 5.8 to 6.3, and the EC, $NO_3$-Na and K decreased by 52.4%, 60.5% and 29.3%, respectively. The available $P_2O_5$ and $SiO_2$ increased by 25.9% and 21.2%, respectively. Otherwise, the population density of fluorescent Pseudomonas sp. was accelerated and the growth of vegetables increased. Moreover, the population density of E. coli and Fusarium sp., decreased remarkably. The ratio of bacteria to fungi (B/F) and the ratio of Actinomycetes bovis to fungi (A/F) increased 2.3 (from 272.2 to 624.4) and 1.7 times (from 38.3 to 64), respectively. Furthermore, the growth and yield of cucumber and lettuce significantly increased by the treatment of microorganism mixtures. CONCLUSION(S): These results suggest that the treatment of microorganism mixtures improved the chemical properties and the microflora of soil and the crop growth. Therefore, it is concluded that the microorganism mixtures could be good alternative soil amendments to restore soil nutrients and soil microflora.

유기질비료와 토양미생물제제 및 해초추출물 시용이 배추수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Organic Fertilizer, Microorganism and Swaweed extract Application on Growth of Chinese Cabbage)

  • 유박을 원료로 한 유기질비료, 미생물제제 및 해초추출물의 시용효과를 규명하기 위하여 엇갈이배추를 공시작물로 시설하우스에서 재배하면서 생육 및 수량을 조사하였다. 유기질비료 처리구에 미생물제제를 혼용한 처리구에서 수량이 가장 좋았으며, 과량 처리구에서도 비해가 발생하지 않았다. 해초추출물의 엽면시비와 관주에 의한 수량증대는 관주처리구가 다소 높았으며, 또한 미생물제제의 경우 액상보다 분말처리구에서 수량이 높게 나타났다. 즉, 미생물제제의 형태에 있어서는 분말이 해초추출물의 시용방법에 있어서는 관주에 의해 생육이 안정되었으며, 수량도 높은 경향을 보였다. 결론적으로 유기질비료의 2배 과량처리구에서 비해가 발생되지 않았으며, 미생물제제와 해초추출물의 시용으로 생육 및 수량이 향상되었다.

  • Pot experiment was conducted to find out the effect of decomposing degree of rice straw on growth characteristics of flue-cured tobacco, NC82. Tobacco growth was hindered by fresh straw of rice application. Generally, it was known that if organic matter of high Carbon/Nitrogen ratio had applied in soil, there was temporary nitrogen deficiency in plant caused by soil microorganism utilized nitrogen contained organic matter. In pot experiment, it was supposed that tobacco growth hindered by fresh straw of rice application was not nitrogen deficiency by soil microorganism, but gas toxicity by fresh straw of rice application.

폐식용유로 제조된 재생비누의 생분해 속도 (Biodegradation Rate of Recycling Soap Prepared from Non-Cooking Oils)

  • A recycling soap was prepared from non-cooking oils. The effects of physlcal and chemical properties of the recycling soap on biodegradation are expected to be different due to the thermal histories of the non-cooking oils. Therefore, the biodegradation rate of the recycling soap was studied by using Klebssella Pneumoniae(K. pneumoniae), and the growth rate of K. pnewoniae in soap solution was observed. The biodegradation rate of the recycling soap appeared to be slower as the thermal histories of the non-cooking oils became larger. This might be resulted from hydrolysis, in which the ester bonds in the oils are broken to produce hydroxyl group. It was also observed that the growth rate of the microorganism decreased with the increase in the thermal histories of the oils. As a result, it is desired that recycling soap should be produced from the non-cooking oils with the prober ranges of thermal histories to reduce water contamination. The non-cooking oils with larger thermal histories are considered to be recycling through the cracking process before used. 오이의 온실재배에서 발생하는 위조병의 미생물학적 제어 (Biological Control of Fusarium Wilt by Antagonistic Microorganism in Greenhouse Grown Cucumber Plants)

  • This study was carried out to clarify the effects of antagonistic microorganism, Bacillus sp. JC181 isolated from the greenhouse soil grown cucumber plants on the growth inhibition of plant pathogen, fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum) occurred in cucumber plants in greenhouse. Antagonistic bacterial strains were isolated and were investigated into the antifungal activity of the antagonistic microorganism against fusarium wilt. Screened fourteen bacterial strains which strongly inhibited F. oxysporum were isolated from thc greenhouse soil grown cucumber plants, and the best antagonistic bacterial strain designated as JC181, was finally selected. Antagonistic bacterial strain JC181 was identified to be the genus Bacillus sp. based on the morphological and biochemical characterization. Bacillus sp. JC181 showed 58.2% of antifungal activity against the plant pathogen growth of F. oxysporum. By the bacterialization of culture broth and heated filtrates of culture broth, Bacterial strain, Bacillus sp. JC181. showed 91.2% and 260% of antifungal activity against F. oxysporum, respectivrly.

육계에 있어서 활성효모 (Saccharomyces cerevisiae)의 급여가 영양소 이용성과 장내 미생물의 변화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Feeding Live Yeast (Saecharomyces cerevisiae) on Nutrient Utilization and Changes of Intestinal Microorganism in Broiler Chicks)

  • In order to investigate the effect of feeding live yeast on growth performance, nutrients utilization, tibia mineral deposit and intestinal microorganism changes, a growth assay was conducted with 360 broiler chicks. Treatments were four levels of yeast as 0, 0.025, 0.05 and 0.1% in 1.83% tricalcium phosphate and two levels of yeast as 0 and 0.05% in 1.15% tricalcium phosphate. The crude protein content of live yeast was 45%, and 97% of it was in the pure protein form, with 46.6% of essential amino acids and 53.4% of non-essential amino acids. Growth performance was tended to increase by feeding the yeast but there was no significant difference(P>.05). The protein digestibility was increased as the feeding level of yeast increased. However, digestibilities of fat, fiber, calcium and phosphorus were not affected by the yeast. Ash and calcium content of tibia were increased as the level of yeast increased. Total number of E. coli in small intestine was significantly decreased(P<.05) in chicks fed yeast. Total number of Lactobaci1lus was significantly increased by the yeast feeding. The changes of microorganism in cecum had the same trend with the changes of microorganism in small intestine.

학교 급식설비 및 집기류의 미생물학적 위해요소 분석 (The Microbiological Assessment and Identification of Food Utensils and Food Service Facilities in School)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 식중독으로 인한 지속적인 위해 발생을 예방하기 위하여 학교의 급식시설 및 집기류에서 미생물 오염수준을 분석하고자 하였다. 그 결과, 총 세균 측정용 배지에서 $12.3{\pm}2.6$건으로 가장 많은 미생물이 배양되었고, 황색포도상구균 측정용 배지에서 $10.3{\pm}3.9$건과 대장균 측정용 배지에서 $9.5{\pm}3.9$건으로 미생물이 배양되었다. 그러나 비브리오 측정용 배지에서는 $1.5{\pm}1.0$건으로 가장 적은 미생물이 배양되었다. 급식시설 및 집기류에서 미생물 오염이 심한 곳은 전처리실 바닥으로 $4.5{\pm}0.6$건으로 가장 높고, 조리실 바닥도 $4.3{\pm}1.0$건으로 나타났다. 다음으로 조리대가 $3.3{\pm}1.0$건으로 나타났으며, 급식식탁에서도 $3.0{\pm}0.0$건으로 상당히 높은 미생물 오염을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면에 집기류에서는 시설들에 비하여 낮은 미생물 오염도를 보였다. 칼과 도마를 사용용도에 따라 구분하여 미생물을 분석한 결과, 생선용 칼에서 $2.0{\pm}0.8$건과 생선용 도마에서 $1.3{\pm}1.5$건으로 다른 용도에 비하여 약간 높은 미생물 오염도를 보였다. 배양된 미생물들을 동정한 결과, 다양한 미생물들이 오염되어 있으며 일부는 2번 이상씩 반복하여 검출되었다. 특히, 주요 식중독균인 Staphylococcus aureus는 조리대, 트렌치, 칼에서 3번에 걸쳐서 확인되었다. 또한 주요 식중독균에 속하는 Bacillus cereus가 칼에서 확인되었으며, 자연에 널리 분포하면서 때로는 급성폐렴을 일으키기도 하는 Klebsiella pneumoniae는 4번 반복하여 검출되었다. 위의 결과를 종합하여 보면, 황색포도상구균을 비롯한 주요 식중독균뿐만 아니라 식품의 부패를 일으키는 미생물들이 학교급식의 시설 및 집기류에 오염되어 있다는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 그러므로 학교급식의 안전성을 확보하고 학생들의 건강을 증진시키기 위하여 더욱 철저한 개인위생 및 효율적이고 체계적인 시설 관리가 이루어져야 할 것으로 사료된다
