The development of satisfactory alternatives for supplying the nutrients needed by crops could decrease the problems associated with conventional NPK chemical fertilizers. In this study, the effects of bacterial and fungal effective microorganisms (EM) on the growth of Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa) were evaluated. This investigation was carried out parrallel with conventional NPK chemical fertilizer and a commercial sold microbial fertilizer to compare between each of their effect. Sterile water and molasses were served as controls. Azotobacter chroococcum effect also was studied either alone or in combination with the effective microorganisms on the growth parameters. In contrast to the bacterial EM, the fungal EM alone without A. chroococcum had a more stimulating effect than fungal EM combined with A. chroococcum. Results showed that seedling inoculation significantly enhanced B. rapa growth. Shoot dry and fresh weight, and leaf length and width significantly were increased by both bacterial and fungal inoculation. The results indicated that the NPK chemical fertilizer deteriorates the microflora inhabiting the soil, while the effective microorganisms either fungal or bacterial ones increased the microbial density significantly. This study implies that both of fungal and bacterial EM are effective for the improvement of the Chinese cabbage growth and enhance the microorganisms in soil. The results showed antagonism occurred between A. chroococcum and each of Penicillium sp and Trichoderma sp in both agar and plant assays. The data were statistically analyzed by ANOVA and Dunnett test.
No-till direct-sown rice-wheat relaying cropping system has major advantages such as labor and cost saving by eliminating tillage and preparation of seed bed and transplanting. In this system, rice sowing was done simultaneously wheat harvesting. A paddy field experiment was conducted to evaluate effects of no-till years on soil microbial changes and soil physico-chemical characteristics with rice growth and development. Chemical fertilizers and agricultrual chemicals was not applied in no-till system. As the year in no-till direct-sown system the air permeability was increased and after water submerging soluble nitrogen was released Aerobic microbial-n was highest in May and then decreased after water irrigation. The population of aerobic soil microorganisms were steeply decreased after water submerging Soil microorganisms was decreased with the increased the soil depth. A month was needed for the seedling establishment in a no-tillage rice-wheat cropping system. Increased cropping years improved leaf greenness and leaf area index(LAI). But stomatal conductance(Gc) was higher in conventional cultivation system than no-till system. Stomatal conductance at panicle initiation stage was increased higher in conventional condition of leaves but the difference between conventional and no-till system was increased at heading stage. In no-till 4 years condition rice grain yield was spikelet numbers per panicle.
This study was carried out to evaluate effect of temperature condition on nitrogen mineralization of organic matter, distribution of microbial group by PLFA profiles, and soil microbial community in non-volcanic ash soil. Dried soil 30 g mixed well each 2 g of pellet (OFPE) organic fertilizers, pig manure compost (PMC), and food waste compost (FWC). And then had incubated at $10^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, and $30^{\circ}C$, respectively. Nitrogen mineralization rate increased with increasing temperature and that was in the order of FWC>OFPE>PMC. Distribution ratio of microbial group by PLFA profiles showed that was different significantly according to incubation temperature and the type of organic matter. As incubating time passed, density of microbial group decreased gradually. The Gram-bacteria PLFA/Gram+ bacteria PLFA, Fungi PLFA/Bacteria PLFA, and Unsaturated PLFA/saturated PLFA ratios were decreased according to the increasing temperature gradually. Principal component analysis using PLFA profiles showed that microbial community structures were composed differently by temperature factor at both 75 days ($10^{\circ}C$) and 270 days ($30^{\circ}C$). In conclusion, Soil microbial community structure showed relative sensitivity and seasonal changes as affected by temperature and organic matter type.

In order to observe the lasting effect of NK-compound mineral fertilizer and organic compound fertilizer including Myweon organic liquid fertilizer, a pot experiment was conducted with rice (Oriza Sativa) variety: Nong Back. These fertilizers were applied as basal and the same amount of urea form of nitrogen was top dressed about a month after transplanting, July seventh, 1977. Results obtained are as follows; 1. The lasting effect of various fertilizers were laid in following decreasing order; Myweon liquid < Organic compound fertilizer (Myweon coop. made) > NK-compound fertilizer (Chosun coop. made) Single fertilizer. It was considered that organic matter served as microbial feed and lead a temporary fixation of available plant nutrients in the soil, and the reduced surface area of the compound fertilizers slowed down the availability of the fertilizers. 2. The fertilizer showing greater lasting effect produced more panicles per hill and less grains per panicle than the fertilizers showing less lasting effect, and brought low maturity, which resulted in low paddy yield the paddy producing efficiency of nitrogen absorbed by straw was also low in the former fertilizers. Such advanced effect of the former fertilizer was considered to be related with the variety of early maturity and unseasonable topdressing of fertilizer which made at the maximum tillering stage. 3. For the production of Japonica type paddy with heavy fertilization which may required to depress the early growth a little and promote the late growth, it might be necessary to develop slow releasing fertilizers such as single fertilizer formulated to a large grains or compound fertilizer containing organic matter. 4. If the nitrogen content of paddy, Nong Back, far excess 0.64 or 0.65% and reaches 0.68% or above, the yield of the variety seemed to be decreased remarkbly through the low maturity rate and thousand grain weight.
The result of application of the organic manure obtained from livestocks fed with BLCS in the altari radish under structure were as follow. The no. of leaves, leaf, root length, root width, and total weight of altari radish treated with dong of fowl(BLCS) were the highest in any other treatment, and cattle drop-ping (BLCS) was higher, also. The contents of total N, P2O5, K2O, CaO, MgO, and sugar content in the altari radish treated with dong of fowl(BLCS) were the highest, and the second was cattle dropping (BLCS). The contents of OM, P2O5, K, Ca, Mg, and CED of soil treated with microorganism were the highest in the cattle dropping (BLCS) in any other plots, however. In general, effect of cattle manure fed with BLCS on the altari radish yield and mi-crobial activity were higher than cattle manure did not feed BLCS.

The ${\delta}^{15}N\;and\;{\delta}^{15}O$ data of nitrate indicates the sources of nitrate in oxic groundwater as a mixture of ammonia or urea-containing fertilizer and manure. The ${\delta}^{34}S_{sulfate}$ values indicate that sulfate Is mainly originated from fertilizers and soil S. In sub-oxic groundwater, the increased ${\delta}^{34}S_{sulfate}$ values evidently indicate that sulfate is gradually removed by microbial mediated sulfate reduction. However, iron reduction does not occur In this study area. Such a reversed redox sequence may occur In the presence of stable iron oxides such as hematite and goethite in alluvlal aquifer.

In this paper, we reported that the influence of advanced functional mineral filler calcium carbonate ($CaCO_3$) extracted from oyster shell waste, which are rich mineral sources of $CaCO_3$. Oyster Shells, available in abundance, have no eminent use and are commonly regarded as waste. Their improper disposal causes a significant level of environmental concern and also results in a waste of natural resources. Recycling shell waste could potentially eliminate the disposal problem, and also turn an otherwise useless waste into high value added products. Oyster shell waste calcination process to produce pure lime (CaO) which have good anti-microbial property for waste water treatment and then focuses on its current applications to treat the coffee waste and its effluents for biological treatment and utilization as a fertilizers.

This study was conducted to investigate the changes in physicochemical and microbiological properties during fermenting process of farm-made organic liquid fertilizer made of the mixture of organic materials such as blood meal and molasse during fermenting process. The pH level of organic liquid fertilizer during the ermentation decreased from 7.2 to 4.3. The EC of organic liquid fertilizer was increased from 13.9 dS/m to 99.3 dS/m during the fermentation. The total population of aerobic bacteria decreased from $8.2{\times}10^5$ cfu/ml to $3{\times}10^4$ cfu/ml, but Bacillus spp. increased from $2.1{\times}10^2$ cfu/ml to $4.2{\times}10^3$ cfu/ml during the fermentation. Bacterial isolates were obtained from organic liquid fertilizers and identified by fatty acid-base typing. The Genus Bacillus was dominant as fermenting proceeded. The denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) profile showed changes of bacterial communities in organic liquid fertilizers.
