란탄족 이온이 도핑된 Ti-SBA-15의 합성 및 그들의 광촉매 활성 (Synthesis of Ti-SBA-15 Doped with Lanthanide Ions and Their Photocatalytic Activity)

  • 란탄족 이온이 도핑된 Ti-SBA-15 촉매를 수열합성법으로 제조하였다. 또한 이들의 특성을 X선 회절기(X-ray diffraction, XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), 가스흡착법(Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, BET) 및 Photoluminescence spectrometer (PL) 등을 이용하여 조사하였고, 이 촉매를 사용하여 자외선 조사하에서 메틸렌블루에 대한 광분해 반응성을 조사하였다. 란탄족 이온이 도핑과 무관하게 Ti-SBA-15 촉매는 메조동공체 구조를 유지하고 있으며, 란탄족 이온이 치환됨에 따라 기공의 크기와 기공의 부피가 줄어들었으며 표면적은 오히려 증가하였다. 란탄족 이온의 도핑과 무관하게 전체적으로 IV형의 흡착등온선과 H2형 히스테리시스를 보여주고 있으나, 란탄족 이온이 도핑되면 히스테리시스의 크기가 커지는 것을 볼 수 있다. 란탄족 이온의 도핑과 무관하게 가시광 영역에서의 흡수밴드는 나타나지 않으며 220 nm에서 다소 폭이 넓은 흡수피크가 나타나고 있다. 이것은 SBA-15 골격 내에 Ti가 존재한다는 것을 의미하고 있다. 메틸렌블루의 광분해 반응에서 Pr 이온을 첨가 시킨 것이 가장 높은 광촉매 활성을 보여주었으며, Er, Eu 및 Nd 등의 란탄족 이온이 치환되면 순수한 Ti-SBA-15 촉매보다 오히려 활성이 떨어진 것을 볼 수 있다. 모든 촉매들은 410 nm 부근에서 강하고 넓은 PL 흡수밴드가 나타났으며, 이 피크의 세기가 커질수록 광분해 활성이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • As a result of examining research contents related to soil excretion being studied in Korea, there are five methods for soil excretion testing. As a result of analyzing the correlation between each test method and concrete compressive strength, the chemical test method and the Methylene blue test showed a high correlation index.

Cadmium Sulphide Nanorods: Synthesis, Characterization and their Photocatalytic Activity

  • Cadmium sulphide (CdS) nanorods were prepared by a single precursor thermal decomposition (SPTD) method. The formation of CdS nanorods and their structure, morphology and elemental composition were studied by means of FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, HR-TEM and EDAX analysis. Photoluminescence (PL) and lifetime measurements were recorded to study the luminescence properties of the material. The PL spectrum of the CdS nanorods showed one broad peak and four shoulders and the cause for this emission was discussed. The PL emissions from the band edge and deep trap state of the CdS nanorods were studied by lifetime measurements. Further, the synthesized CdS nanorods showed an increase in efficiency of photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (RhB). The increase in the photocatalytic activity was attributed to the mixed phase of the CdS nanorods.

Characterization of Methylene Blue Decomposition on Fe-ACF/TiO2 Photocatalysts Under UV Irradiation with or Without H2O2

  • The photocatalysts of Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$ compositeswere prepared by the sol-gel method and characterized by BET, XRD, SEM, and EDX. It showed that the BET surface area was related to adsorption capacity for each composite. The SEM results showed that ferric compound and titanium dioxide were distributed on the surfaces of ACF. The XRD results showed that Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$ composite only contained an anatase structure with a Fe mediated compound. EDX results showed the presence of C, O, and Ti with Fe peaks in Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$ composites. From the photocataytic degradation effect, $TiO_2$ on activated carbon fiber surface modified with Fe (Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$) could work in the photo-Fenton process. It was revealed that the photo-Fenton reaction gives considerable photocatalytic ability for the decomposition of methylene blue (MB) compared to non-treated ACF/$TiO_2$, and the photo-Fenton reaction was improved by the addition of $H_2O_2$. It was proved that the decomposition of MB under UV (365 nm) irradiation in the presence of $H_2O_2$ predominantly accelerated the oxidation of $Fe^{2+}$ to $Fe^{3+}$ and produced a high concentration of OH radicals.

도재전장주조관에 사용되는 도재의 색안정성에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE COLOR STABILITY OF PORCELAIN FOR PORCELAIN FUSED TO METAL CROWN)

  • Dental porcelain should have adequate strength and similar esthetics as natural teeth. Recently esthetics has become a high priority in clinical dentistry. Thus the evaluation of color stability of dental porcelain has become an important part in dental research. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difference in color stability of 3 types of porcelain(Vintage, VMK 95, CERAMCO II). The porcelain were divided into groups by 2 types of treatment(glazing or non-glazing and thermocycling or non-thermocycling). The porcelain were dyed with methylene blue and distilled water, and then the color stability was evaluated with a spectrophotometer The results were as follows; 1. The color change of porcelain increased in the order of VMK 95, Vintage, CERAMCO II. But there was no significant difference. 2. The color change decreased in the glazing group compared to the non-glazing group(p<0.05). 3. The color change increased after thermocycling But there was no significant difference. 4. The color change according to dye method was significantly larger with methylene blue copared to distilled water(p<0.05).

  • DNA 센서의 중요한 역할 중의 하나는 염기서열을 분석함으로써 유전적인 질병이나 돌연변이를 찾아낸다는 점이다. 염기서열 분석법으로 질량, 광학, 전기 화학적 측정법 등이 있는데, 그 중 전기 화학적 측정방법이 타 방법에 비해 간편하고 비용도 저렴해서 전망이 매우 밝다. 전기 화학적 측정을 위해서는 전극의 표면 처리 공정과 전극 표면에서의 DNA immobilization, hybridization 공정 및 전기적 신호를 발생시키는 intercalator, 그리고 전기적 신호 검출을 위한 측정 장비가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 전극의 표면 처리 물질로서 2-mercaptoethanol을 사용했고 double strand DNA의 intercalator로써 methylene blue를 사용했으며, methylene blue의 환원 전류값을 측정하여 double strand DNA를 bare Au 또는 single strand DNA와 구분할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 하여 전기 화학적 신호 검출을 이용한 DNA 센서의 가능성과 개발 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

Preparation, Characterization and Catalytic Activity of Tin Dioxide and Zero-Valent Tin Nanoparticles

  • The tin (IV) oxide nanoparticles are prepared by controlled precipitation method and calcined at temperatures of $200-600^{\circ}C$. The prepared $SnO_2$ nanoparticles characterized by XRD patterns, TEM image, IR and UV-Vis spectra. The XRD patterns and TEM image show the tetragonal structure and spherical morphology for $SnO_2$ nanoparticles, respectively. The photocatalytic activity of the prepared $SnO_2$ nanoparticles studied in degradation reaction of methylene blue (MB). The results show the size of nanoparticles, band-gap energy and photocatalytic activity of $SnO_2$ depends on the calcinations temperature. The $SnO_2$ nanoparticles calcined at $500^{\circ}C$ indicated the highest photoreactivity. Also, the zero-valent tin (ZVT) nanoparticles with tetragonal structure are prepared by a reducing agent and used as a catalyst in degradation of MB. In basic pH of 11, the degradation >95% of MB at time 150 min obtained at presence of ZVT nanoparticles.

The effect of introduced method of titania and applied potential on the photoelectrocatalytic properties of CNT/TiO2 electrodes

  • In this paper, three types of CNT/$TiO_2$ composite electrodes were prepared with different methods. The changes in XRD patterns showed that the Electrode A contained a mixed phase of anatase and rutile while the Electrode B and Electrode C contained a typical single and clear anatase crystal structure. From SEM micrographs, $TiO_2$ particles were adhered on the surface of the CNT network in the forms of small clusters. The results of chemical elemental analysis indicated that the main elements such as C, O and Ti were existed. The results demonstrated that the efficiency of photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) oxidation for methylene blue (MB) was higher than that of photocatalytic (PC) oxidation. There was a clear enhancement trend of the MB degradation using the prepared CNT/$TiO_2$ composite electrodes with an increase of applied potential. Finally, the prominent PEC activities of the CNT/$TiO_2$ composites could be attributed to combination effects of photo-degradation of $TiO_2$, electron assistant of CNT and function of applied potential.

Fabrication and Electro-photolysis Property of Carbon Nanotubes/Titanium Composite Photocatalysts for Methylene Blue

  • In this study, we have studied on improved performance of carbon nanotubes/titanium (CNT/TiO2) structure electrode for methylene blue (MB). The composite electrodes consisting of CNTs and a titanium oxide matrix with phenol resin binder was fabricated with a mixture method. The chemical and morphological structure of CNT/Ti$O_2$ composites were characterized by means of BET surface area, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-Vis absorption technique, Raman spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). The electrode showed a remarkably enhanced performance for MB oxidation under UV illumination with or without electro-chemical reaction (ECR). Such a remarkably improved performance of the CNT/Ti$O_2$ structure electrode might be due to the enhanced MB oxidation by electro- and photo-generated electrons and holes in the CNTs and Ti$O_2$ under UV illumination with or without ECR.

Photocatalytic degradation and antibacterial investigation of nano synthesized Ag3VO4 particles @PAN nanofibers

  • Well-dispersed Ag3VO4 nanoparticles @polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers were synthesized by an easily controlled, template-free method as a photo-catalyst for the degradation of methylene blue. Their structural, optical, and photocatalytic properties have been studied by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy equipped with rapid energy dispersive analysis of X-ray, photoluminescence, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. The characterization procedures revealed that the obtained material is PAN nanofibers decorated by Ag3VO4 nanoparticles. Photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue investigated in an aqueous solution under irradiation showed 99% degradation of the dye within 75 min. Finally, the antibacterial performance of Ag3VO4 nanoparticles @PAN composite nanofibers was experimentally verified by the destruction of Escherichia coli. These results suggest that the developed inexpensive and functional nanomaterials can serve as a non-precious catalyst for environmental applications.
