In terms of water meter reading, the majority of 16 million houses use mechanical water meter in korea. So, a member of the utility's staff needs to access periodically the water meter and the value of the metered volume. However, due to the use of mechanical water meter, many issues have been appeared as cost, time, errors, accessibility, and readability. To settle these issues, we developed the walk-by meter reading system of digital water meter and outside indicator based on ubiquitous. And we could get the characteristics and the economical efficiency for water meter reading system. Thus, this study shows that the system can be widely used to the block system and the meter reading system for stable water supply.

검침원이 방문을 통하여 계량기 지침을 읽고, 핸디 터미널을 이용하여 지침값을 입력하는 검침업무 시스템은 사생활 침해, 미검침 처리 및 오검침, 과다한 검침 비용 등의 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이런 고객서비스질의 저하를 막기 위하여 계량기의 지침을 자동으로 인식하고, RF 모듈를 이용하여 무선으로 검침데이터를 전송할 수 있는 원격검침 시스템을 설계하였다. 검침 데이터의 원시 자료 수집부터 수용가의 사용량 정보에 대한 통계정보 관리에 이르기까지의 전체적인 시스템을 설계함으로써 고객에게 보다 정확하고 구체적인 사용 정보를 제공하여 서비스의 만족도와 신뢰도를 향상 시킬 수 있으리라 사료된다.

In this paper, we introduce automatic meter reading system for tap water. The system is composed of automatic meter, router using RF and CDMA network, and data server. This system will easily extend to fire detect, gas, and electric charge meter system. In addition, this system will be used to monitoring a water leak and human which live in solitude. Proposed system is installed at Gimhae-City and Gijang-gun. As a result of the automatic meter reading system for tap water, The leak of water and complain of user is decreased. But The building cost is still an obstacle to expand into entire city.

This paper presents the AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) system using the binary CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) radio technology. The binary CDMA is the new radio technology in domestic research. Main implementation topics includes the binary CDMA remote meter reading system, the wireless piconet configuration for the wireless automatic meter reading, and the transmission scheduling for sending and receiving data. Also, the wireless packet data encryption is very important topics for the wireless automatic meter reading. The proposed AMR system is implemented as a pilot project in Jeju and Gangwon. It can be seen that the wireless remote reading using the binary CDMA wireless technology can be applied to the AMR system.

본 논문은 새로운 구조의 AMR(원격검침)/AMI(첨단계량인프라)를 시스템 개발에 관한 연구이다. 개발된 시스템은 기존시스템 보다 가격이 저렴하고, 검침 시간이 단축되고, 설치가 용이하다. 개발된 시스템을 적용하면 한국의 일반 가정에서 기본으로 사용하고 있는 전기, 수도, 가스, 온수 및 난방의 5종 계량기의 계량값을 원격검침 하고 이에 대한 AMI 적용이 가능하다. 제안된 시스템이 이론과 실제 적용에 있어서 경제성과 신뢰성 모두 우수함과, AMI 적용에 기존 시스템보다 더 적합함을 테스트 결과에 보여준다.

This paper proposes an advanced digital kwh-meter, which records voltage management data, load management data as well as the existing kwh data. This meter supports the requests from DRMS (Distribution Remote Management System) which include kwh meter reading, voltage management data reading, and load management data reading request, it can enhance greatly the economics of the existing remote meter reading system. Also it can improve highly the quality of power supplied to the electric customer by minimizing the voltage management cost and by enhancing the efficiency of load management.

계량기의 지침을 인식하고 수도 관리 사업소로 데이터를 전송하기 위한 검침모듈은 전원을 전력선으로 이용할 수 없다. 따라서, 검침모듈은 배터리를 이용해야 하므로 주기적으로 소모된 배터리를 교체하는 유지보수 문제가 발생한다. 유지보수 비용을 절감하기 위해 전원 소모를 줄이면서 무선으로 데이터를 전송 할 수 있는 방안이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 전원관리를 통하여 배터리 소모량을 줄이면서 고객계량기의 지침을 자동으로 인식하고, RF를 이용하여 검침 데이터를 전송 할 수 있는 원격검침 모듈을 설계하였다.

This paper has studied a remote AMR(Automatic Meter Reading) system using the power line and the telephone line as a communication media and the digital power meter. In the developed system, because we have used the power line and telephone, the facility is very easy and then its cost is not expensive. The system includes following elements: a digital power meter, an indoor communication system using a power line modem and a telephone line interface system for sending data to the utility company.

본 논문에서는 무라타 전자의 LoRa RF 모듈을 이용한 LoRa 통신모듈을 설계하여 디지털미터기에 장착하는 구성과, 다수의 미터기 데이터를 DCU(Data Concentrate Unit)에서 정합하여 LoRaWAN 으로 네트워크를 구성하는 원격검침 네트워크 구성 방법을 제시한다. 개발된 시스템은 수요자의 구성에 따라 미터기를 직접 네트워크에 연결하거나 DCU로 정합하여 네트워크에 연결하도록 선택가능하게 함으로써 기존 시스템 보다 네트워크 구성에 있어서 용이하고 경제적으로 설치가능하다. 개발된 시스템은 디지털수도미터기를 예로하여 구성하였지만 전기, 수도, 가스, 온수 및 난방 등 타계량기의 계량값을 원격검침 하는데도 적용가능하다. 주요개발 내용은 디지털미터기, LoRa 모듈, DCU 설계, 구성 및 제작과 LoRaWAN 네트워크 연결, 미터 데이터를 서버로 전송하는 방법이며, 이들 요소들을 연계하여 시스템을 구성하고 실제 LoRaWAN 통신을 테스트하고 그 결과를 보여준다.

A communication protocol for automatic meter reading is designed for electronic power meter. Communicational functions and data structures are standardized and data reading software is developed according to the developed protocol. The communication protocol is designed with reference specifications, IEC 62056-31 and Distributed Network Protocol(DNP). For design, communicational functions and specifications of the industrial meters were analyzed for the purpose of developing a new one for KEPCO meters. The protocol is designed with 3 layer model, physical layers, data link layer and application layer. A documentation was completed with data gathering, data classification, authentication, error detection. An emulator system was made for testing the protocol. A meter reading software was developed using the protocol. Many different protocols and meter reading softwares are integrated into one with the developed protocol and software as KEPCO's standard.
