Filler metal을 이용한 Stainless steel필터의 제조 및 통기도 (Fabrication and Permeability of Stainless Steel Filter by using Filler Metal)

  • The application concept of using a fail safety filter on the filtering system is to prevent the particle leakage when the main filter element is broken at high temperature. In this study, the metal filters were fabricated by pressureless sintering method. The mixture of stainless steel powders and filler metal binder solved in the water solutions of 5% PVA was compacted to form the cylindrical filter without pressure. The compacted filter were sintered in the vacuum sintering furnace at 120$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The metal filter(produced with powder of 640-840 ${\mu}m$ size) having more than above 50% porosity, 500${\mu}m$ pore size, and permeability of 7.3${\times}$10$^{-11}$m$^{2}$ plugged within 2.5 minute to prevent the leakage of maximum slip particle size of less than 3${\mu}m$.

금속 섬유 필터층을 이용한 미세 분진 집진 성능 관찰 (Examination of Dust Trapping Mechanism in a Metal Fiber Filter-bed)

  • A metal fiber bed has seldom been applied to the practical filtration process despite its excellent mechanical and chemical stability. The filter-bed used in this work was highly porous with open structure, of which apparent porosity was 80 ∼ 90%. Although pressure loss across the filter-bed was very low, separation efficiency was found to be quite high. This paper focuses on the basic filtration mechanisms of a metal filter-bed and a thin ceramic filter from fly ash for reference. The experimental parameters were face velocity, dust loading and porosity of filter-bed. Pressure drop increased with increasing face velocity and dust feeding load for both filters. It also showed that dust particles deposited in the deep flow path, finally resulting in clogging the pore channels. It thereby indicates that the dominating mechanism of the metal filter-bed would be depth filtration. Meanwhile, the thin fly ash composite filters trapped the aerated dust mainly on the surface of the filter medium, so that the instantaneously formed dust layer might cause a steep increase of pressure drop across the filtration system.

  • 마이크론 금속섬유 필터 표면상에 탄소나노튜브를 직접 합성 성장함으로써 마이크론 필터의 성능을 향상할 수 있었다. 탄소나노튜브는 합성조건에 따라 마이크론 섬유 주위를 덮는 덤불 나노구조체 또는 섬유 사이를 연결하는 망 형상의 나노구조체로 성장하였다. 탄소나노튜브가 성장한 금속필터와 탄소나노튜브가 성장하지 않은 금속필터의 여과성능을 측정하여 비교한 결과, 차압의 변화는 미미하나 여과효율은 더욱 향상되었고, 이는 탄소나노튜브가 오염 나노입자를 잡는 트랩으로 작용하였기 때문이다.

  • 레이저 애블레이션에 의해서 가지상 구조체 형상인 나노입자 응집체를 합성하였다. 기존 마이크론 금속섬유 필터의 표면상에 나노입자 응집체를 고착하여 여과성능을 향상시켰다. 에어로졸 상에서 소결 처리된 나노입자 응집체를 증착한 후 열처리를 하여 나노구조체가 표면상에 형성된 소결 처리된 나노입자 응집체 고착 필터를 제작하였다. 소결 온도가 증가할수록 마이크론 금속섬유 필터 표면상에 고착된 나노입자 응집체의 표면적 증가로 인하여 차압은 조금 증가하지만 여과효율은 현저하게 증가하였다.

  • 중 저준위 방사성폐기물 유리화 공정에서 발생되는 분진을 제거하기 위하여 저온용융로 후단에 금속필터를 장착하여 성능시험 및 필터 적용 평가를 실시하였다. 실험결과 기존의 고온세라믹필터와 유사한 차압특성을 보였으며, 유량 $110Nm^{3}/hr$ 기준으로, 필터 자체에 의한 압력손실은 $25mmH_{2}O$, 분진 잔류층에 의한 압력손실은 $67mmH_{2}O$ 정도였다. 따라서 기저차압은 $92mmH_{2}O$ 정도임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 SEM-EDS 분석결과 대부분의 차압은 멤브레인층의 표면에서 발생된 것으로 판단되며, 열화현상에 의한 부식문제등도 발견되지 않았다. 따라서 금속필터의 경우 유리화설비에 적용 가능한지를 분석하고, 장기시험을 통한 충분한 검증이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The membrane filter adhered with nanostructured porous layer was made by heat treatment after deposition of nanoparticle-agglomerates sintered in aerosol phase onto a conventional micron-fibrous metal filter as a substrate filter. The Sintered-Nanoparticle-Agglomerates-coated NanoStructured porous layer Membrane Filter (SNA-NSMF), whose the filtration performance was improved compared with the conventional metal membrane filters, was developed by adhesion of nanoparticle-agglomerates of dendrite structure sintered onto the micron-fibrous metal filter. The size of nanoparticle-agglomerates of dendrite structure decreased with increasing the sintering temperature because nanoparticle-agglomerates shrank. When shrinking nanoparticle-agglomerates were deposited and treated with heat onto the conventional micron-fibrous metal filter, pore size of nanostructured porous layer decreased. Therefore, pressure drops of SNA-NSMFs increased from 0.3 to 0.516 kPa and filtration efficiencies remarkably increased from 95.612 to 99.9993%.

  • Hybrid material(ceramic+metal) processes were developed for micro filter using ceramics coating at metal filter surface by thermal spray method, micro hole drilling at ceramic coated filter surface by femtosecond laser, and fiber laser direct welding of ceramic and metal (SUS304, SM45C) by capillary effect. Thermal spray process was used for ceramic powders and metal filters. The used ceramic powders were $Al_2O_3+40TiO_2$(Metco 131VF) powder of maximum particle size $5{\mu}m$ and ${Al_2O_3}99+$(Metco 54NS) power of maximum particle size 45m. Ceramic coated filters using thermal spray method had a great influence on powder material, particle size and coating thickness but had a fine performance as a micro filter. CW fiber laser was used to drill the top ceramic layer and melt the bottom metal layer for joining applications.

용해도에 따라 노출기준이 다른 금속화합물의 정량방법 고찰 (Review of the Determination Methods for Metal Compounds with Different Occupational Exposure Limits Depending on Solubility)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to propose a sequential procedure for the simultaneous analysis of soluble and insoluble metal compounds. Methods: Methods for sampling and analyzing metal compounds such as ISO standards, NIOSH methods, HSE methods, and OSHA methods were reviewed. Results: Some metals have different OELs depending on the solubility of the compound. Therefore, we should take into account these characteristics and perform an exposure assessment. Soluble metal compounds are first extracted from the filter, and then the filter is digested by acids to analyze residual insoluble components. The extraction of soluble compounds can be completed by agitation for about 60 minutes with a leach solution (water) in a water bath at 37℃. For the analysis of insoluble compounds, the sample filter and the filtration filter remaining after the extraction of the soluble compounds are analyzed. This allows simultaneous determination of soluble and insoluble metal compounds. For hexavalent chromium compounds, soluble hexavalent chromium can first be extracted from the filter by using sulfate buffer. The insoluble hexavalent chromium remaining in the filter can then be extracted using carbonate buffer. Conclusion: Workers are often exposed to many hazardous substances with different exposure limits at industrial sites. The OELs for compounds of the same metal can be set differently depending on solubility. This study can help evaluate a worker's exposure to metal compounds by suggesting methods for the simultaneous determination of soluble and insoluble metal compounds.

금속 DPF를 이용한 입자상물질의 저감효율에 관한 연구 (PM Reduction Efficiency using Metal Type DPF)

  • After-treatment apparatus ceramic DPF (diesel particulate filter) have been applied to reduce harmful particulate matters(PM) among emissions from diesel engines so far, but they are easy to be fragile and weak in thermal shock. This research aims to investigate a metal type filter which is superior in mechanical strength and heat conduction rate and is beneficial economically in manufacturing. Basic performance of metal DPF such asloading test, temperature gradient test, thermal shock test, heat resistant test and back pressure was carried out. And then their experimental data provided key informations in designing and manufacturing such as detailed structures of metal mesh filter. Also diesel engine and vehicle of 2957cc displacement was tested under lug-down 3 mode and CVS-75 mode. PM reduction efficiency was 54.5% using metal DPF without loss of performance and fuel consumption.

  • The quantitative trace analysis of ions could be deteriorated by filter papers because of the effect of adsorption. Generally the adsorption of anions on filter paper did not occurred. Instead, $Cl^-$ and $NO{_3}^-$ ions were extracted from the filter papers. However, most metal ions were adsorbed on the filter papers by the formation of hydroxide in neutral solution. The adsorption of metal ions except $Ag^+$ ion could be avoided depend on the acid concentrations.
