Various polymer metal complexes have been synthesized from anhydrous $AlCl_3,\;FeCl_3,\;SbCl_5,\;SnCl_4\;and\;ZnCl_2$ with cation exchange resin in carbon disulfide solvent. The forms of the surfaces and sectioned beads of these polymer metal complexes have been observed using scanning electron probe microanalyzer. To examine the catalytic activity of polymer metal complexes, the esterification of various dibasic acids with alcohols have been carried out. Polymer metal complexes were found to be the effective catalyst for esterification of dibasic carboxylic acids.

A comparison of alkali metal cation and alkaline earth cation solvent extraction was made for three additional monoionizable crown ethers and one diionizable crown ether. sym-(n-Octyldibenzo)-16-crown-5-oxyacetic acid $\underline{1}$ exhibited high efficiency and selecvity in solvent extraction of alkali metal cations with respect to that observed with alkaline earth cations. Sizes of $Na^+$ and $Ca^{2+}$ appropriately match with the cavity size of monoethyl sym-bis[4(5)-tert-butylbenzo]-16-crown-5-oxymethylphosphonic acid $\underline{3}$. As the result, $Na^+$ and $Ca^{2+}$ are the best extracted. sym-(n-Octyldibenzo)-16-crown-5-oxymethyldiphosphonic acid $\underline{4}$was found to be somewhat selective for $Na^+$ over $Li^+$ and other alkaline earth metal cations. In the complexation of alklaine earth cations by crown ether diphosphonic acid $\underline{4}$, $Ca^{2+}$ and $Sr^{2+}$ are the appropriate sizes, but lager $Ba^{2+}$ may be due to favorable formation of a sandwich type complex between the crown ether cavity and the dianion of the deprotonated crown ether phoaphonic acid moiety.

Nanostructures, with a diversity of shapes, built on substrates have been developed within many research areas. Lithography is one powerful, but complex, technique to make structures at the nanometer scale, such as platinum nanowires for studying CO catalytic reactions [1], or aluminum nanodisks for studying the plasmon effect [2]. In this work, we approach a facile method to construct nanostructures using noble metals on a titania thin film by using self-assembled structures as a pattern. Here, a large-scale silica monolayer is transferred to the titania thin film substrates using a Langmuir-Blodgett trough, followed by the deposition of a thin transition metal layer. Owing to the hexagonal close-packed structure of the silica monolayer, we would obtain a metal nanostructure that includes separated metallic triangles (islands) after removing the patterning silica beads. This nanostructure can be employed to investigate the role of metal-oxide interfaces in CO catalytic reactions by changing the patterning silica particles with different sizes or by replacing the oxide support. The morphology and chemical composition of the structure can be characterized by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In addition, we modify these islands to a connected island structure by reducing the silica size of the patterning monolayer, which is utilized to generating hot electron flow based on the localized surface plasmon resonance effect of the metal nanostructures.
This investigation was performed to evaluate the effect of four different preteatment techniques on the bond strength of porcelain to non-precious metal alloy. Samples of total of 40 were divided into 4 groups according to the 4 variables which included the 50$\mu$alumina oxide air abrasion, method, the as retention bead method, the L-retention bead method, the Etching method. The completed metal-porcelain samples were compressed in Instron loading machine until gross fracture occured to examine the effect of the complex variables on the bond strength of porcelain to non precious metal alloy. The result obtained were as follows : 1. The difference of bond strength according to four different pretreatment techniques was statistically significant(p<0.01). 2. The difference of bond strength between the ss-retention bead method and the L-retention bead method was not significant statistically(p>0.05) 3. The difference of bond strength between the retention bead method and the etching method was statistically significant(p<0.01). 4. The difference of bond strength between the retention bead method and the 50$\mu$alumina oxide air abrasion method was statistically significant(p<0.01). 5. The difference of bond strength between the etching method and the 50$\mu$alumina oxide air abrasion method was statistically significant(p<0.01).

Recently, people have concerned about environmental pollution. This environmental pollution occur due to many reasons such as heavy metal ions and anions. In this regard, many researchers have studied organic materials to monitor above reasons to protect environmental pollution. One of the organic materials for this function is chemosensor. This chemosensor has been studied and reported about monitoring toxic heavy metal ions and anions. In this study, the dye sensor was designed and synthesized through reaction of Rhodamine 6G and 1,3-Indanedion. this dye sensor selective detected $Hg^{2+}$ metal ions while showing red color absorption and yellowish-green strong fluorescence emission compared to other heavy metal ions such as $Cu^{2+}$, $Hg^{2+}$, $Ag^{2+}$, $Zn^{2+}$, $Fe^{2+}$ and $Fe^{3+}$. In this regard, we anticipated that this dye senosr can provide an significant material for monitoring mercury which cause environmental pollution. Thus, We investigated detailed properties of this dye sesnor with using UV-Vis absorption and fluorescent spectrophotometer, Job's plot method for metal binding complex, computational simulated calculation named Material Studio 4.3 suite to approach for electron distribution and HOMO/LUMO.
The complexes M(CO)4-1,2-(PPh2)2-1,2-C2B10H10 (M=Cr 2a, Mo 2b, W 2c) have been prepared in good yields from readily available bis-diphenylphosphino-o-carboranyl ligand, closo-1,2-(PPh2)2-1,2-C2B10H10 (1), by direct reaction with Group Ⅵ metal carbonyls. The infrared spectra of the complexes indicate that there is an octahedral disposition of chelate bis-diphenylphosphino-o-carboranyl ligand around the metal atom. The crystal structure of 2a was determined by X-ray diffraction. Complex 2a crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n with cell parameters a = 12.2360(7), b = 17.156(1), c = 16.2040(6) Å, V = 3354.1(3) Å3, and Z =4. Of the reflections measured a total of 2514 unique reflections with F2 > 3σ(F2) was used during subsequent structure refinement. Refinement converged to R1 = 0.066 and R2 = 0.071. Structural studies showed that the chromium atom had a slightly distorted pseudo-octahedral configuration about the metal center with two phosphine groups of o-carborane occupying the equatorial plane cis-orientation to each other. These metal carbonyl complexes are rapidly converted to the corresponding metal carbene complexes, [(CO)3M=C(OCH3)(CH3)]-1,2-(PPh2)2-1,2-C2B10H10 (M= Cr 3a, Mo 3b, W 3c), via alkylation with methyllithium followed by O-methylation with CF3SO3CH3.
The metal-carbon σ-bond cluster complexes 1-Mn(CO)5-2-R-1,2-C2B10H10 (R=CH3 Ia, C6H5 Ib) have been prepared in good yields from readily available carboranyl lithium complexes, 1-Li+-2-R-1,2-C2B10H10- (R=CH3, C6H5), by direct reaction with (CO)5MnBr. These manganese metal complexes are rapidly converted to the corresponding manganese metal carbene complexes, 1-[(CO)4Mn=C(OCH3)(CH3)]-2-R-1,2-C2B10H10 (R=CH3 IIIa, C6H5 IIIb), via alkylation with methyllithium followed by O-methylation with CF3SO3CH3. The crystal structure of IIIb was determined by X-ray diffraction. Thus, complex IIIb crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P212121 with cell parameters a=15.5537(5), b=19.0697(5), c=7.4286(3) Å, V=2203.4(1) Å3, and Z=4. Of the reflections measured a total of 3805 unique reflections with F2>3σ(F2) was used during subsequent structure refinement. Refinement converged to R1=0.053 and R2=0.091. Structural studies showed that the manganese atom had a slightly distorted pseudo-octahedral configuration about the metal center with the carbene and ortho-carborane occupying the equatorial plane cis-orientation to each other.

Metal 3D-printing technology enables the manufacture of complex features or internal structures, which is not possible in fabrication by conventional cutting methods. The most successful types of metal 3D printing have been powder bed diffusion and directed energy deposition, which use laser heads exploiting high-power laser sintering metal powder. In this study, a cost-effective optical design was proposed for a 2-kW-level fiber laser head. Only two commercial lenses, a beamsplitter and a window, are used in the laser head, satisfying the technological requirements. According to the optical design, the spot size was 2.54 mm, and the stand-off distance from the laser head was 295 mm. The intensity distribution was Gaussian. Thus, smooth power sintering was possible without any laser spot marks. Monte Carlo analysis was employed to verify the consistency of the optical performance under conventional assembly tolerance.

Nowadays, 3 dimentional (3D) printing, especially Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) system is used in dentistry. DMLS system has recently been introduced for fabrication metal framework for metal ceramic crowns to overcome the disadvantages of the casting method and computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) milling system. DMLS system uses a high-temperature laser beam to selectively heat a substructure metal powder based on the CAD data with the framework design. A thin layer of the beamed area becomes fused, and the metal framework is completed by laminating these thin layers. Utilizing DMLS system to fabricate fixed prostheses is expected to achieve free-from shaping without mold and limitations from cutting tools, fabricate prostheses with complex geometry, prevent distortion and fabrication defects that inherent to conventional fabrication methods. The purpose of this case report is to demonstrate various fixed prostheses such as long span fixed prostheses, post to achieve satisfactory results in functional and esthetic aspects.
The casting method uses a mold to solidify a liquid metal to make a solid metal. Since it uses a liquid metal with the least deformation resistance, it has the characteristic that it can easily manufacture even a complex shape. However, the process of solidifying a liquid metal into a solid metal inevitably involves a volume change and contains internal defects such as shrinkage holes. Therefore, in the design of the casting plan, an excess volume called a pressurization compensates for the volume shrinkage. in the product, and it induces the shrinkage hole defects to occur in parts other than the product1). In this study, casting analysis was performed using casting analysis software (anycasting) in order to optimize the design of the tilting gravity casting method for automobile brackets. In particular, the filling and solidification analysis according to the shape and volume of the pressurized metal was conducted, and applied to the actual product to study the effect of the pressurized metal on the shrinkage defect. Through this study, it is possible to understand the effect of the pressure metal on shrinkage defects in the actual product and propose a design of the pressure metal that improves reliability and productivity.
