  • Until now, many metadata registries have been built in various fields and the metadata registries were built based on ISO/IEC 11179 which is the international standard for metadata management. However, their management systems do not fully support various and useful tools to easily and systematically manage the metadata registries. In this paper, we describe the metadata registry management system we designed and implemented. The implemented metadata registry management system provide many useful tools for efficient and easy metadata management. Finally, the developed system is also based on the international standard, ISO/IEC11179. Therefore, we can apply it to other fields for building and managing metadata registries.

  • Currently for the development of internet and network technology, since request of service for the large volume multimedia data has been more increased, multimedia users want the convenience and accuracy of multimedia service system about storing and retrieving of the multimedia contents. To satisfy the request of users, metadata management for the diverse information of multimedia contents is very important. However, the metadata management for the multimedia contents is difficult because the metadata standards are different each other for the type of multimedia data and service. In this paper, we propose the integration metadata management system structure which extends previous metadata management system based on text for the multimedia contents metadata which are expressed differently each other according to the multimedia data or service type.

  • 본 연구는 데이터 웨어하우스 환경에서 어떤 메타데이터를 어떻게 관리하는 가를 알아보기 위하여, 데이터 웨어하우징을 위한 3 가지 메타데이터 관리 스키마(추출 메타데이터, 웨어하우스 메타메이터, 사용자 접근 메타데이터)를 이용한다. 특히, 3 가지 메타데이터 중에서 사용자의 데이터 웨어하우스에 대한 접근과 그 활용을 위한 웨어하우스 메타데이터와 사용자 접근 메타데이터에 초점을 두고 이들 메타데이터 관리에 대한 사례를 연구한다.

  • ISO 15489:2001 addresses the principles and requirements with which organizations, both public and private, should comply on the management of their records to ensure that adequate records are created, captured and managed. The standard defines the characteristics that a record should have through records management system as follows: authenticity, reliability, integrity, and usability. Authenticity means that records can be proven to be what it purports to be, to have been created or sent by the person purported to have created or sent it, and to have been created or sent at the time purported. Reliability means that the contents of the records can be trusted as a full and accurate representation of the transactions, activities or facts to which they attest and can be depended upon in the course of subsequent transactions or activities. Integrity refers to ensuring that a record is complete and unaltered. Usability means that records can be located, retrieved, presented and interpreted. In order to have these characteristics, a record should be persistently linked to the metadata necessary to document a transaction. Metadata is "data describing context, content and structure of records and their management through time." Metadata ensure the creation and maintenance of authentic, reliable and usable records and the protection of the integrity of those records. It could be implemented by creating and capturing records management metadata in systems that create and manage records. There have been some projects and standard initiatives to identify a core set of records management metadata. Included are the Australian Recordkeeping Metadata Standard and the British Metadata Standard which is part of the Requirements for Electronic Records Management System. Recently ISO/TS 23081-1 is published to implement metadata requirements within the framework of ISO 15489. Public records management system in Korea is ruled by the Act on the Management of Archives by Public Agencies and Administrative Records Management Regulation. This article evaluates records and their descriptive elements captured and maintained by the records management system in Korea on the basis of the international metadata standards.

USN metadata management agent using IoT-based EMRA

  • In this paper, we define EMRA-based USN metadata to describe sensor device, sensor node, and sensor network information at the application level. And the proposed method for effectively storing and retrieving USN metadata based on EMRA uses agent technology. As the sensor metadata proposed in this paper is based on SensorML, interoperability can be maintained in the USN environment, and the metadata management system can be directly utilized for metadata management in USN middleware or applications.

국가기록물관리를 위한 메타데이터 (Metadata format for Archives and Records Management)

  • Metadata is a structured data that makes computer to understand web based data. Types of metadata are Dublin core, ONIX, and EBKS metadata in Korea. Dublin Core is well known among these metadata. Archive is a data, that is the result of ones or groups working process, which is reasonably maintained and stored. These archives are stored and maintained lawfully and suitably for efficient usages for the future. For efficiently managing these grant amount of archive, Finding Aids and Description are needed. Adoption Archives and Records Management system is inevitable in order to maintain organized and efficient data. Metadata helps governments data that is grant to organize in simple way. For maintaining and storing data efficiently, using metadata for Archives and Records Management is essential. Form this report, we will see the examples of using metadata of other country, such as GILS(Government Information Locator Service), AGLS(The Australian Government Locator Service), NZGLS(New Zealand Government Locator Service), Danish Dublin Core and e-GMS(e-Government Metadata Standard) and e-GMF(e-Government Metadata Framework).

  • Recently many organizations have attempted to build hypermedia systems to expand their working areas to internet-based virtual work places. It is thus important to manage corporate hypermedia documents effectively. Metadata play a critical role for managing these documents. This paper identifies metadata roles and components to build its schema. Furthermore a meta-information system HyDoMiS(Hyperdocument Meta-information System) is proposed by the use of this metadata schema. HyDoMiS performs three functions; metadata management search and reporting The metadata management function is concerned with workflow document and database. The system is more likely to help implement and maintsain hypermedia information system effectively.

Metadata model-centered cost management app for small business owners in the restaurant business in O2O environment

  • In this paper, we propose a system that allows small business owners focusing on the restaurant business to easily understand the management situation, and to manage the operation and management centering on the cost of food materials and profits and losses. In general, the metadata structure is different depending on the POS system, so it is necessary to first develop a standardized metadata model for a food material cost management system for small business owners in various industries. For that reason, the system proposed in this paper was applied to the cost management app by referring to the development of a data model using the metadata standard. In addition, in order to implement a cost profit/loss management system for small business owners in the restaurant industry, it was designed to support standardized metadata models from various types of POS systems, and is a hybrid app that can support a smart environment.   • 이 논문은 메타데이터 표준 요소 중 특히 맥락 관련 요소를 실행의 관점에서 평가하고 개선방안을 제안하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 기록관리 메타데이터 표준 요소들이 국가기록원이 개발 보급한 표준 RMS에 어떻게 반영되었는지 RMS 데이터 테이블, 장기보존포맷 기술규격 등을 토대로 분석하였다. 둘째, 표준 RMS를 운영 중인 4개 공공기관과 국가기록원 RMS 운영센터를 방문하여 RMS를 통한 데이터 조회와 면담을 토대로 메타데이터 축적 현황과 문제점을 조사하였다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 공공표준 측면과 RMS 기능 개선 측면으로 나누어 개선방안을 제안하였다.

  • 현재 가장 많은 관심을 받고 있는 분야 중의 한 가지는 바로 기능성게임 관련 분야이다. 또한, 기능성 게임 산업의 규모는 해마다 급속한 양적인 성장을 하고 있다. 기능성 게임의 효율적인 메타데이터 관리는 매우 중요 이슈이다. 따라서 우리는 효율적인 기능성 게임의 메타데이터 관리를 위한 통합 관리 시스템의 설계를 제안하다. 본 시스템은 인터넷을 기반으로 서비스가 제공되며, 기능성 게임 사용자들(일반 사용자, 개발자, 전문가, 메타데이터 관리자)은 제안된 시스템을 이용하여 새로운 메타데이터 정보 입력, 기존 메타 데이터 정보 검색, 검색 결과로 생성된 문서 파일들(HTML, XML, EXCEL, MS-WORD)을 자신의 로컬 컴퓨터에 저장하기 등의 작업들을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있다.
