병렬연산을 이용한 익형의 최적 설계 (The Optimum Design of Airfoil Shape with Parallel Computation)

  • 익형에 대한 공력 최적설계 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 점성 유동장에 대한 보다 정확한 정보를 설계에 반영하기 위하여 나비어-스톡스 방정식을 사용하였다. 최적설계 방법으로는 민감도 해석을 위하여 수정유용방향탐색방법(Modified Method of Feasible Directions, MMFD)을 사용하였으며 이동거리 계산을 위하여 다항식 보간법을 사용하였다. 또한 설계시간을 단축하기 위하여 MPI를 사용하여 병렬화하였다. 전체 유동장을 8개의 영역으로 분할하였으며 분할된 영역은 지정된 프로세서에 할당하여 계산을 수행하였다. 민감도 계산을 위하여 각 프로세서에 할당하여 계산을 수행하였다. 민감도 계산을 위하여 각 프로세서에 각 탐색방향을 할당하여 민감도를 병렬계산하였다. 본 연구의 수행 결과 양력은 허용한도 내의 일정한 값을 유지하는 가운데 항력이 감소된 최적화된 익형의 형상을 설계할 수 있었다.

A Study on the Efficient m-step Parallel Generalization

  • It would be desirable to have methods for specific problems, which have low communication costs compared to the computation costs, and in specific applications, algorithms need to be developed and mapped onto parallel computer architectures. Main memory access for shared memory system or global communication in message passing system deteriorate the computation speed. In this paper, it is found that the m-step generalization of the block Lanczos method enhances parallel properties by forming m simultaneous search direction vector blocks. QR factorization, which lowers the speed on parallel computers, is not necessary in the m-step block Lanczos method. The m-step method has the minimized synchronization points, which resulted in the minimized global communications compared to the standard methods.

  • Exhibition can be a type of mass-communication since it should contains some 'meaning' or 'message' that is to be delivered. The purpose of visiting museum is to view exhibits. Thus, factors, such as exhibits, exhibition media, show-case, direction signs, and gates, form visual perception, which means there exists homogeneity between visual perception and action. Visitors acquire knowledge by the space interaction when one can acknowledge the consecutive time flow while moving along the exhibition space. Visitors' movements can be formed by visual and perceptive experience that follows environmental stimulus and individual desire. Therefore, museum visitors experience certain shift flow with visual perception caused by the continuity of space. Thus, the research on development of focus in continuity is required. In addition, if the quality of exhibition space and organized continuity with visual diversity can be improved in exhibition design, it would expand the function of communication in exhibitions.

  • This paper suggests user's interface with computer by means of detecting gaze under HMD, head mounted display, environment. System is derived as follows; firstly, calibrate a camera in HMD, which determines geometrical relationship between monitor and captured image. Second, detect the center of pupil using algorithm of the center of mass and represent a gazing position on the computer screen. If user blinks or stares at a certain position for a while, message is sent to computer. Experimental results show the center of mass is robust against glint effects, and detecting error was 7.1%. and 4.85% in vertical and horizontal direction, respectively. To adjust detailed movement of a mouse takes 0.8 sec more. The 98% of blinking is detected successfully and 94% of clicking detection is resulted.

  • In this paper, the bit-level 1-dimensionl systolic array for modular multiplication are designed. First of all, the parallel algorithms and data dependence graphs from Walter's Iwamura's methods based on Montgomery Algorithm for modular multiplication are derived and compared. Since Walter's method has the smaller computational index points in data dependence graph than Iwamura's, it is selected as the base algorithm. By the systematic procedure for systolic array design, four 1-dimensional systolic arrays ale obtained and then are evaluated by various criteria. Modifying the array derived from 〔0,1〕 projection direction by adding a control logic and serializing the communication paths of data A, optimal 1-dimensional systolic array is designed. It has constant I/O channels for modular expandable and is good for fault tolerance due to unidirectional paths. And so, it is suitable for RSA Cryptosystem which deals with the large size and many consecutive message blocks.

  • In this paper, the bit-level 1-dimensional systolic array for modular multiplication is designed.   • Ship Information Systems (SISs) have been one of the main research focuses in ship design and become a multidisciplinary area. With these growing research trends, it is important to consolidate the latest knowledge and information to keep up with the research needs. In this paper, the SIS and its different forms are introduced and discussed. The beginning of this paper discusses the history and evolution of SIS. The next part of this paper focuses on different fields and research areas such as networking technology, information fusion, information decision, message display, ship control in real-time SISs. A Semi-Physical Simulation Platform (SPSIM) designed for SIS research and its running effect through a new Fuzzy-PID fusion algorithm are introduced in this paper then. A brief literature survey and possible future direction concerning each topic is included.

  • The role of fabric now directly related with the expression of the beauty of clothing and it provides new and creative ideas. This study was aimed at reviewing basic data that can be used in systematic design development through fabric expression for today's fashion designers who must study unique, original fashion design development. For systematic development of design technique through fabric expression, fabric expression methods and characteristics, aesthetic characteristics and fabric design of 'art to wear' were reviewed and the results are as follows. First, the highly wrought fabric expression of art to wear was confirmed to be comprehending a message within itself. Second, aesthetic characteristics of fabric expression used in art to wear can be classified as decorativeness, extensity, 2-D pictorialness, handicraft, compounding and rearrangement, and 3-D characteristics. Third, the 6 aesthetic characteristics have unique design features and aesthetic categories. The understanding the fabric expression techniques through study on the classification of the fabric expression in 'art to wear' is expected to be extended to proposition of creative direction and inspiration of modern fashion.

  • The brand power is getting more important in apartment market so that consumers are accustomed to ask first what the apartment brand is when they are considering to buy an apartment. Even so the brand name is the first factor which approaches to the consumer, message and image can be delivered to customers by visual factors. Since visual image can be effective to remind of customers brand image, construction business company should make portfolio to synthesize brand Image actively. This research investigate images of consistency in extenor and interior design according to the apartments brand. Used lexical meaning of the adjective used to discern standard to extract images, selected survey, and evaluated by step 1 to 5 using semantic differential method, SD. The collected cases are analyzed by using statistics software SPSS for windows release 11.0. This research provides conveyance of the vision image which fits to the brand Image and further design direction.
