Development of Automatic ALC Block Measurement System Using Machine Vision (머신 비전을 이용한 ALC 블록 생산공정의 자동 측정 시스템 개발)

  • This paper presents a machine vision system, which inspects the measurement of the ALC block on a real-time basis in the production process. The automatic measurement system was established with a CCD camera, an image grabber, and a personal computer without using assembled measurement equipment. Images obtained by this system was processed by an algorithm, specially designed for an enhanced measurement accuracy. For the realization of the proposed algorithm, a preprocessing method that can be applied to overcome uneven lighting environment, boundary decision method, unit length decision method in uneven condition with rocking objects, and a projection of region using pixel summation are developed. From our experimental results, we could find that the required measurement accuracy specification is sufficiently satisfied by using the proposed method.

  • It will be shown how models can simulate all the elements of an ultrasonic NDE measurement system, including the pulser/receiver, cabling, transducer(s), and the acoustic/elastic waves fields. When combined, these models form what is called the electroacoustic measurement model. It will be demonstrated how this electroacoustic measurement model can be used to conduct parametric transducer and system studies and how the model can form the basis for experimentally characterizing all the elements of the ultrasonic measurement system, using purely electrical measurements.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a statistical program for capability analysis of measuring system and measurement process based upon KS Q ISO 22514-7. Methods: R is a powerful open source functional programming language that provides high level graphics and interfaces to other languages. Therefore, in this study, we will develop the statistical program using R language. Results: The R program developed in this study consists of the following five modules. ① Measuring system capability analysis with Type 1 study data: MSCA_Type1.R ② Measuring system capability analysis with Linearity study(Type 4 study) data: MSCA_Type4.R ③ Measurement process capability analysis with Type 1 study & Gage R&R study data: MPCA_T1GRR.R ④ Measurement process capability analysis with Type 4 study & Gage R&R study data: MPCA_T4GRR.R ⑤ Attribute measurement processes capability analysis : AttributeMP.R Conclusion: KS Q ISO 22514-7 evaluates measuring systems and measurement processes on the basis of the measurement uncertainty that was determined according to the GUM(KS Q ISO/IEC Guide 98-3). KS Q ISO 22514-7 offers precise procedures, however, computations are more intensive. The R program of this study will help to evaluate the measurement process.

Measurement of Elastic Constants by Simultaneously Sensing Longitudinal and Shear Waves as an Overlapped Signal

  • Measurement of elastic constants is crucial for engineering aspects of predicting the behavior of materials under load as well as structural health monitoring of material degradation. Ultrasonic velocity measurement for material properties has been broadly used as a nondestructive evaluation method for material characterization. In particular, pulse-echo method has been extensively utilized as it is not only simple but also effective when only one side of the inspected objects is accessible. However, the conventional technique in this approach measures longitudinal and shear waves individually to obtain their velocities. This produces a set of two data for each measurement. This paper proposes a simultaneous sensing system of longitudinal waves and shear waves for elastic constant measurement. The proposed system senses both these waves simultaneously as a single overlapped signal, which is then analyzed to calculate both the ultrasonic velocities for obtaining elastic constants. Therefore, this system requires just half the number of data to obtain elastic constants compared to the conventional individual measurement. The results of the proposed simultaneous measurement had smaller standard deviations than those in the individual measurement. These results validate that the proposed approach improves the efficiency and reliability of ultrasonic elastic constant measurement by reducing the complexity of the measurement system, its operating procedures, and the number of data.

  • The linear motor available for linear transition motion, because of its advantages, the motor design and its application have gradually increased, but the quantitative measurement system of thrust force has not been generalized. So, this paper proposes the modeling, computation method, and measurement system of linear thrust force in HB-type linear pulse motor. As the computation method of thrust force in linear motor is presented and the measurement system is designed, and manufactured, it would be verified that reliability of measurement method and measurement system, considering on and comparing the results of mathematical modeling with measured values of static thrust force and dynamic one.

  • This paper presents studies on the development of an internal measurement system for the footwear using laser sensor. The measurement system gains to the height of the profile at internal footwear. It accomplishes the 3-axises control which uses ball screws, L-M guides and stepping motors. It is used a laser sensor at the measurement of the distance, and Labview is used for the control and the measurement. We can get the profile through reverse engineering for the LAST. The data of profile is fixed a heigh of the LAST. Then, we try to verify as compare the profile with one which is collected by Internal measurement system..

  • In this paper, we studied for the measurement system for on-line testing and evaluation of tilting train express(TTX). The measurement system is installed in each train for the performance measurement during the test run. It is composed of software part, hardware part and can measure various signals such as velocity, voltage, temperature. The software controls the hardware of the measurement system, performs the analysis and calculation of measurement data and acts as interface between users and the system hardware. The hardware is consisted of 7 DAMs(Data Acquisition Modules) and 6 monitoring modules.

  • A system design technique of automatic thickness measurement and defect inspection system, which measures the thickness of the ALC(Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete) block and inspects the defect on a realtime basis is proposed. The image processing system was established with a CCD camera, an image grabber, and a personal computer without using assembled measurement equipment. The image obtained by this system was analyzed by a devised algorithm, specially designed for the enhanced measurement accuracy. For the realization of the proposed algorithm, the preprocessing method that can be applied to overcome uneven lighting environment, an enhanced edge decision method using 8 edge-pairs with irregular and rough surface, the unit length decision method in uneven condition with rocking objects, and the curvature calibration method of camera using a constructed grid are developed. The experimental results, show that the required measurement accuracy specification is sufficiently satisfied using our proposed method.

  • To acquire the high precision of profile for standard electrode of loss angle, it is needed ultraprecision machining technology like MEAP(Magnetic Electronic Abrasive Polishing) and the very high profile measurement technology which can measure a micro unit about the workpiece. So, in this paper, it was developed the measurement system of precision of profile using non-contactable sensor that was approximate sensor of capacitance type, because that is better than others in the electrical characteristics. And standard electrode of loss angle was machined by the MEAP machining technology. In this study, it was development of precision measurement system. This system could be used measure the workpiece of roundness and straightness much more precise and faster than general mechanical measurement system done before. And it could be helped to minimize machining time and planning by very fast and precise measurement about the workpiece.

  • In these days, the people living in the urban suffer from the environmental noise because the number of cars increases in the city, and a lot of new industrial complex is made in the urban every year. But there is no suitable system for measurement and management of environmental noise. Therefore, in this research, a new system for the measurement and characteristic analysis, evaluation, management of environmental noise using Internet communication is developed. The system includes the environmental noise measurement equipment and the controller for the noise measurement and analysis, evaluation, management.
