결정질 PV 모듈의 string 구성에 따른 바이패스 다이오드 동작 특성 (The Characteristic of the Performance of the Bypass Diode with Composition Change of the String in Si-PV Module)

  • Previous studies have been focused on the voltage of Bypass diode and Isc(Short Circuit Current) of the influenced solar cell. The Bypass diode starts working when it gets the reverse applied voltage. Previous studies have only concentrated on Isc of the influenced solar cell and Imp of PV module to explain the bypassing performance. PV module is usually working together with inverter having MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) function for best performance. bypassing point is regulated by MPPT function of inverter. In this paper, simulation results of Bypass diode in PV module have been analyzed to represent the relationship of the bypassing point with the composition of PV module. From the results, the more cells are connected with each string, the earlier bypassing performance happens under the fixed number of strings. As diode groups increase or irradiation decreases, the bypassing performance starts fast.

  • PV 어레이에 부분적으로 음영이 발생하면 그 P-V 특성은 여러 개의 MPP를 보인다. 이런 상황에서는 global MPP를 찾아내기 위한 특수한 기법이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 제안된, 부분 음영 조건 발생 시 global MPP를 찾아내는 MPPT 기법을 개선하고 실험을 통하여 유효성을 검증한다.

  • This paper presents the active maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of the photovoltaic(PV) module integrated converter(MIC) system considering the shadow influence. Conventional perturbation and observation(PO) and incremental conductance(IC) are the method finding MPP by the continued self-excitation vibration. The MPPT control is unable to be performed by rapid output change affected by the shadow. To solve this problem, the active MPPT in which the step value changes by output change is presented. In case there are the solar radiation, a temperature and shadow influence, the presented algorithm treats and compares the conventional control algorithm and output error. In addition, the validity of the algorithm is proved through the output error response characteristics.

  • PV (Photovoltaic) power generation system has been widely studied as a clean and renewable power source. Tracking the MPP (maximum power point) of a PV array is usually an essential part of a PV system. This paper describes POS (Photovoltaic Output Sensorless) MPPT method and optimization technique of its operational characteristics for grid-connected PV generation system. A DC-DC converter has been used to step-up the PV voltage and DC-AC converter has been used for connecting the system to the grid. Optimization technique has been implemented to optimize the current and voltage controller gain parameters and duty ratio increment of DC-DC converter. Simulation results reveal that the proposed control has better response.

  • 본 논문에서는 PV 시스템에서 사용되는 회로들을 쉽게 해석할 수 있도록 모델링하였다. 시뮬레이션 툴은 직관적인 전기회로 시뮬레이션이 가능한 PSPICE를 이용하였다. 모델링한 라이브러리를 이용하여 태양전지의 사용에서 간과하기 쉬운 온도와 공간방사의 영향에 대해서도 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 이와 더불어 태양광 발전 시스템의 완전한 동작을 위해 DC-DC 벅-부스트 컨버터와 MPPT 제어 시스템에 대한 완전한 동작 시스템에 대해 모델링하고 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 양호한 동작을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 시뮬레이션의 동작을 입증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션에서와 동일한 조건의 실제 시스템을 구성하여 실험을 수행 하였으며 실험의 결과와 시뮬레이션의 결과가 동일한 동작을 수행하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 단상 3[kW] 계통연계형 태양광 전력변환기를 제안하였다.

  • In this paper, in order to use module integrated converter using cascaded buck-boost converter for a low battery charger in stand-alone system, a charging algorithm which considers photovoltaic and battery status and PWM controllers which are changed according to charging modes are proposed. The proposed algorithm consists of constant current mode, constant voltage mode and maximum power point tracking mode which enables the battery to charge with maximum power rate. This paper also presents design of cascaded buck-boost converter that is the photovoltaic charger system. A 150W prototype system is built according to verify proposed the charger system and the algorithm.

Smoothing Output Power Variations of Isolated Utility Connected Multiple PV Systems by Coordinated Control

  • A Photovoltaic (PV) system's power output varies with the change of climate. Frequency deviations, tie line voltage swings are caused by the varying PV power when large PV power from several PV systems is fed in the utility. In this paper, to overcome these problems, a simple coordinated control method for smoothing the variations of combined PV power from multiple PV systems is proposed. Here, output power command is formed in two steps: central and local. Fuzzy control is used to produce the central smoothing output power command considering insolation, variance of insolation and absolute average of frequency deviation. In local step, a simple coordination is kept between the central power command and the local power commands by producing a common tuning factor. Power converters are used to achieve the same output power as local command power employing PI control law for each of the PV generation systems. The proposed method is compared with the method where conventional Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) control is used for each of the PV systems. Simulation results show that the proposed method is effective for smoothing the output power variations and feasible to reduce the frequency deviations of the power utility.

  • 범용적으로 사용되고 있는 수평형 풍력 터빈(HAWT)은 블레이드가 장착된 터빈이 회전부인 너셀에 고정되어 타워의 최상단에 지지되는 구조이다. 터빈에서 생산되는 전력은 너셀 내부에서 증속기를 통하여 발전기로 들어가게 된다. 발전기에서 생산되는 전력은 타워를 통해서 지상과 송전선으로 연결되므로 너셀의 요잉이 발생하는 경우 송전선의 꼬임이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 이를 방지하기 위한 슬립링이나 추가적인 요잉 제어 알고리즘이 필요한 단점이 있다. 제안하는 새로운 구조의 HAWT는 베벨기어와 중공축을 이용하여 송전선 문제를 해결하였다. 또한, 병렬로 접속된 두개의 발전기를 이용하여 요잉이 용이할 뿐 아니라 생산 전력을 분산시킴으로써 인버터의 용량을 줄일 수 있다. MPPT 알고리즘과 요잉 제어를 수행하는 시뮬레이션을 통해서 제안하는 구조가 풍력 발전에 효과적임을 보였다.

A Novel Photovoltaic Power Harvesting System Using a Transformerless H6 Single-Phase Inverter with Improved Grid Current Quality

  • The pumping of electric power from photovoltaic (PV) farms is normally carried out using transformers, which require heavy mounting structures and are thus costly, less efficient, and bulky. Therefore, transformerless schemes are developed for the injection of power into the grid. Compared with the H4 inverter topology, the H6 topology is a better choice for pumping PV power into the grid because of the reduced common mode current. This paper presents how the perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) can be implemented in the H6 inverter topology along with the improved sinusoidal current injected to the grid at unity power factor with the average current mode control technique. On the basis of the P&O MPPT algorithm, a power reference for the present insolation level is first calculated. Maintaining this power reference and referring to the AC sine wave of bus bars, a sinusoidal current at unity power factor is injected to the grid. The proportional integral (PI) controller and fuzzy logic controller (FLC) are designed and implemented. The FLC outperforms the PI controller in terms of conversion efficiency and injected power quality. A simulation in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment is carried out. An experimental prototype is built to validate the proposed idea. The dynamic and steady-state performances of the FLC controller are found to be better than those of the PI controller. The results are presented in this paper.

전력품질개선기능을 갖는 계통 연계형 태양광 발전시스템 (Gird-interactive PV Generation System with Power Quality Control)

  • This paper presents a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system with direct coupled power quality control (PQC) algorithm, which uses an inner current control loop (PRT : polarized ramp time) and outer feedback control loop to improve grid power quality and maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of PV arrays. To reduce the complexity, cost and number of power conversions, which results in higher efficiency, single stage CCVSI (Current Controlled Voltage Source Inverter) is used. The proposed system operation has been divided into two modes (sunny and night). In night mode, the proposed system operates to compensate the reactive power demanded by nonlinear or variation in loads. in sunny mode, the proposed system performs PQC to reduce harmonic current and improve power factor as well as MPPT to supply active power from the PV arrays simultaneously. it is shown that the proposed system improves the system utilization factor to 100% which is generally low for PV system (20%). To verify the proposed system, a comprehensive evaluation with theoretical analysis and simulation results are presented.
