In order to study the reproductive physiology of Sand ell(Hypoptichus dybowskii) catched at kangwon-do, Wooamjin Bay, spawning and egg development were investigated in April and May, 1996. The observed spawning period was from the middle of April to the end of May with the water temperature above $8^{\circ}$C. Body size and colouration were distinguished between male and female. The type of testicular structure is lobular, and the ovary is a pair of sac-sahaped covering with a fibromuscula capsule and comprising a mature egg of average 86. The unfertilzed egg are demersal and adhesive, and their diameter were 1.65-1.95 mm. the colour of yolk is light yellow and contained a lot of tiny oil globules. The average spawned egg was 62 in sargasso weeds. Hatching was observed in 12 days after fertilization with the water temperature of 14 ${\pm}1^{\circ}$C. The average size of larva after hatching was 6.85${\pm}$0.23mm in total length, and larva were containing yolk including globule.
This study was conducted to elucidate spawning period characteristics and early life development of eight barbel loach, Lefua costata (Balitoridae) at the Jusucheon stream, Okgye-myeon, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, Korea between January and December in 2018. The spawning period was estimated to be from May to August, considering the change in the gonad-somatic index, the appearance of young fry, and frequency distribution in egg diameter. It was a multi-spawning type. The gender ratio was 1:0.79 with 1,117 females and 879 males collected. The egg size was 0.24-0.93 mm, with mature and immature eggs found during the spawning period. The size of mature eggs was 0.71±0.02 mm, and the average number of fecundity was 1,786±818 (n=31). Observation of the egg development showed that the fertilized eggs were the sticky, gray, segregated, and demersal type with 0.76±0.03 mm in diameter. The hatching of the embryos began at about 34 hours (hatching rate 50%) after fertilization underwater temperature of 25℃. The average length of the newly hatched pre-larvae was 2.7±0.11 mm. The average length of pre-larvae at 4 days after hatching was 4.5±0.16 mm, and the yolk sac was completely absorbed and entered the post-larvae stage. At 20 days after hatching, the average length of post-larvae was 11.5±0.67 mm, and their fin rays were formed before they transitioned to the juvenile stage. At 100 days after hatching, the average length reached 49.8±2.60 mm, and the appearance and the lateral sideband patterns were similar to those of the adult fish.
The development of pale chub oocyte from the immature oogonium to mature oocyte was investigated by light and electron microscope. The cytoplasm of pale chub oogonia was acidic and many vesicles were located at inner side of nuclear membrane. In primary oocytes, yolk vesicles were distributed in cytoplasm. Also, fibrous materials and protuberances were distributed on the surface of zona radiata. The nucleus of secondary oocyte was enlarged and yolk vesicles in cytoplasm migrated to zona radiata. In early egg, yolk mass are formed and yolk vesicles were located at inner side of zona radiata. Three-layered zona radiata was about $3{\mu}m$ in thickness. The three layers were an outer fibrous material layer, a middle nurse cell layer in which microvilli of early egg cytoplasm contact with processes of nurse cells, and an inner layer with high electron density. In mature egg, euchromatin and a germinal vesicle were developed, mitochondria, free ribosomes, and yolk mass were distributed in cytoplasm. But, yolk vesicles were disappeared. Specially, zona radiata of matured eggs were better thin than the one of immature eggs In conclusion, it is summerized that the oogenesis of pale chub were the increase of cell size, the formation and accumulation of yolk, the decrease in nucleat electron density, changes of zona radiata, and the development of microvilli.
Larvae of Palaemon serrifer were reared in the laboratory under three different temperature regimes ($15^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$) to study the effects of rearing temperature on larval survival and growth, as well as other traits such as embryo volume, number of embryos (fecundity), incubation period, development. Mode and development period. Growth pattern was analyzed by measuring the molt increment and intermolt period. The intermolt period consistently increased with size and instar number and was shortest at $25^{\circ}C$. However, molt increments generally decreased with instar number. Number of embryos varied from 552 to 1355. The relationship between the number of embryos and carapace length was expressed by the equation (fecundity) y=2.7744x+0.208 ($R^2$=0.7961). Egg volume was a primary factor affecting other life-history traits. Egg volume was $0.078\;m^3$, which is relatively small thus embryos exhibited a relatively short incubation period and a comparatively short development period, and the nutritional mode was planktotrophic. Brood production was followed by a fast parturitional pattern. Most ovigerous females had mature ovaries when the parturial molt occurred soon after eclosion.
Life history of the Siberian stone loach, Orthrias toni, were investigated using samples collected from Buk Stream, Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea. Growth was rapid between April and October when water temperature exceeded $10^{\circ}C$, but growth almost stopped from November-March when water temperature was below $10^{\circ}C$. Age groups for O. toni estimated by frequency distribution of total length in spawning season (May) indicated the 60~81 mm is 1-year old, the 82~99 mm group is 2-years old, the 100~119 mm is 3-years old, and the 120~140 mm is more than 4-years old. Total length range by sex was similar, and sex ratio (♂/♀) was 0.73. Spawning season according to the gonadosomatic index (GSI) was May with water temperature $14{\sim}17^{\circ}C$, and almost all fish were mature after one year old. Fecundity increased rapidly with age with an average of $4,460{\pm}3,302$ ($mean{\pm}SD$). Size of mature eggs was $0.87{\pm}0.03mm$ in diameter irrespective of age.

This study was conducted to provide basic information on the sexual mature and reproductive biology of Trichiurus lepturus. During the oogenesis, size of oocyte and nucleus showed the increase tendency but size ratio of nucleolus to nucleus was decreased. In the result of H-E stain, the stainability of the cytoplasm was changed from basophilic to eosinophilic. The egg diameter of initial vitellogenic oocyte was about 63.2 (±12.7) ㎛. In the cytoplasmic cortex, eosinophilic yolk nucleus was observed. The size of mature oocyte was 216.6 (±24.7) ㎛ and GVBD (germinal vesicle breakdown) was observed. The size of ripe oocyte was 317.9 (±80.9) ㎛ and the thickness of zona radiata was 4.2 (±1.7) ㎛. The oocyte developmental type is considered to belong to the group synchronous type. The accumulation of yolk in the oocyte, like most teleost, is thought to be of two types: exogenous and endogenous accumulation.
Protein bodies in the endosperm cells of mature red ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) were distributed evenly in the cytoplasm and their size varied from 1 to $8{\mu}m$. Three types of protein bodies were detected and they are spherical or egg-shaped ones containing homogeneous matrix only, spherical ones containing globoids, and irregular shaped ones. Protein bodies degraded in two patterns, one is to start the degration of the body from the surface toward the center, while the other is that the body was broken evenly and then degraded gradually. After degradation, only the limiting membrane remained, that causes the body to be empty. The limiting membranes fused with each other to form a large vacuole. Vicilin and legumin decreased in the endosperm cells as the protein bodies degraded gradually whereas they increased in the umbiliform layers.
Diseased tiger puffer (Takijugu rubripes) showed anorexia and severe anemia in the gills. In wet mount preparations Heterobothrium sp. with 4 sets of clamps on the opisthohaptor attached to the gill filaments of the diseased fish. From the drum-shaped filter for filtration of the culturing water and the sediment of aquarium held the diseased fish in the laboratory, their eggs forming long strings through connection of the bipolar filaments could be easily collected. The parasites with 4 pairs of clamps on the opisthohaptor were 2.38mm in length and 0.71 mm in width, but had no isthmus which was separated the opisthohapor from the body proper. The parasites could be easily distinguished from Heterobothrium tetrodonis and H. okamotoi in the absence of distinct isthmus, and resembled H. yamagutii described from the gills of Takifugu xanthopterus in Japan. Their eggs were yellowish spindle in shape and 180-200 x 5-6 Iffil in size, which were pointed at both ends. The eggs were linked to adjacent egg shells like a string of beads by the filaments. Onchomiracidia, ciliated larvae spawned from the eggs were 133 Iffil (120-146 Iffil) x 751ffil (68-80 Iffil) in size. The length of the ciliates was 12 Iffil in the anterior part of the larvae and 14 Iffil in the posterior part. Round or leaf-shaped young parasites attached on the secondary gill lamellae. There was a tendency that most of round smaller parasites without an opisthohaptor were found in the middle part of the gill lamellae while leaf-shaped larger ones with a opisthohaptor attached on the distal part of the gill filaments. Each clamp of mature parasites grasped one secondary gill filament which resulted in bending of the filaments and hyperplasia of the epithelium and mucous cells. In the branchial cavity around the pseudobranch, mature parasites grasped the adjacent ones by means of the clamps, and the epithelia of the branchial cavity around the parasites showed severe irregular hyperplasia and erosion with strongly PAS-positive mucous cells.
This study was carried out to investigate the ecology of Nesodiprion japonlcus (Mmm,m) damaging many conifers The results obtained were as follows: Nesod~prion japonicus (Maun) emerged two times for a year and their body was black m both sexes. A female (10.1t 1 2 mm) adult was larger than a male (9.9t 0.8 mm) one in the body size. The size of antenna as plumose of female was different from that of male. Life span of adults was 3 or 4 days, those emergence rate was 92% and sex ratio of female to male was 6: 4. Adults 1a1d only an egg in the leaf and the region of the leaf aviposited turned brown. Duration of egg was 14.35 1 2 days, egg was In the shape of banana and red~sh-yellow,a nd its sire was 2.4+ 0.2 mm long. Duration of larvae was 30.35 2.1 days and its slze 20.15 2.2 mm, body was green with grey~sh shipes on the dorsal and lateral aspect, the tip of front and hind was yellow and head was brown with a dark-p~gmented area. Mature larva turned into light green and get lost a dark-pigmented area of head. The firstly-emerged larva made cocoons on the base of leaves and the secondawemerged larva among fallen leaves Duration of prepupa was 14.3f 2.0 days and their size 10.15 2.3 mm Duration of pupa was 12.2+ 1.3 days and its size 10.lt0.2mm.
The ultrastructural changes in germ cells during oogenesis of the melania snail, Semisulcospira libertina libertina have been investigated by light and electron microscopy. The ovary is located on the surface of the hepatopancreas in the spiral posterior region. The ovary exhibited greenish color in the gonadal mature season. The ovary was composed of a number of oogenic follicles. Oogenesis was divided into five stages with histological features: (1) oogonia, (2) previtellogenic, (3) initial vitellogenic, (4) active vitellogenic, and (5) mature stages. Oogonia were oval in shape, $4-6\;{\mu}m$ in diameter, and had a large nucleus. Previtellogenic oocytes were about $20\;{\mu}m$ in diameter and the cytoplasm reacted with hematoxylin in H-E satin. Initial vitellogenic stage, oocytes were $60-80\;{\mu}m$ in diameter, and small yolk granules of low electron density are scattered in the cytoplasm. Oocytes in the initial vitellogenic stage were connected with ovarian follicle by egg stalk. Active vitellogenic oocyte were $100-120\;{\mu}m$ in diameter. Electron density, size and quantity of yolk granules that are distributed in the cytoplasm have increased from the previous stage. Result of TEM observations, the oocyte contains well-developed Golgi complex, endoplasmic reticula and tubular mitochondria in the cytoplasm. Cytoplasm of mature oocyte was filled with proteinaceous yolk globules of high electron density. In this stage, the length of microvilli in the egg envelope was approximately $1.1\;{\mu}m$.
