슈퍼자본주의의 경제학 -세계화와 사회자본- (Economics of Supercapitalism - How Does Economic Globalization Affect Social Capital Accumulation? In the case of 65 countries. -)

  • 세계화 과정속에서 경제적 개방이 사회적 통합과 조화를 이룰 수 있는가? 본 논문은 경제적 개방이 사회자본의 축적에 미치는 영향을 살핌으로서 이 문제에 답을 찾고자 한다. 이를 위해 시장경제의 확대과정을 핵심적 특징으로 하는 경제적 개방이 사회자본에 미치는 영향을 모형화하고 직접효과를 추정한다. 본 논문은 이러한 직접효과뿐 아니라 세계화가 민주주의의 확산, 교육수준의 제고, 정부역할의 증대및 불평등의 확대를 통해 사회자본에 미치는 간접적 채널효과도 고려한다. 1980-1999년 기간동안 65개국의 국가간 횡단면 자료를 3단계 최소자승법(3SLS)을 통해 추정한 결과 세계화는 사회자본의 감소에 직접적 영향을 미친다. 채널효과를 통해서 교육수준의 향상, 민주주의의 제고, 정부규모의 확대를 통해 세계화는 사회자본의 제고를 가지고 오지만 이러한 포지티브효과보다 소득불평등확대를 통한 사회자본 감소의 네가티브 효과가 더 크다. 세계화가 사회자본에 미치는 부정적 영향은 직접효과뿐 아니라 채널효과를 통해서도 확인될 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 변수의 평균값에 초점을 맞춘 데이터에 근거한 것이었는데, 변수의 분포에 초점을 맞춘 다른 데이터를 사용하면 더 큰 유의적인 추정결과를 얻을 수 있으며 본 논문의 이론적 근거를 강화시켜준다.

Problem and Improvement of Korean Healthcare market Liberalization and Privatization

  • In this paper, based on the reference, we try to review the second issues about opening medical market and health care privatization by each topic and propose the measures and alternatives. Currently, in Korea, connection with launch of the WTO system and force of the FTA, the medical industries getting liberalization and globalization. Thus, it is expected to plunge to full-free competition system, and Korean medical institutions started the global competition which completely different dimension. It means that according to the liberalization of the healthcare market the real problem can be caused and also, the incessant discussion and effort for the implementation of international community are needed. Regard to attracting foreign patients and opening medical markets, the government also spreading the continued advancement strategy politically until now. However, generating problems with implication is inevitable and measures and alternatives to it are also needed. In accordance with the opening, the accompanying suggestions is medical privatization, that is, whether the health care pursue the profit not the not-for-profit and the current hospitals in Korea they are leaved as non-profit hospitals and let the make the subsidiary as general commercial enterprises, it seems indirect. However, it is like a healthcare privatization virtually thus, implication seem be large. Of course, through the public opinion and legal reservation, the liberalization and privatization of medical market can be delayed or not forced. It would be not fit in the flow of the inevitable globalization, it can be inhibited national interest and economic development also, and it can be the critical implications which shake the health system and collapse of the domestic health care market.

국제투자동향과 한국내 외국인직접투자의 특징적 변화 (A Study on Characteristic Changes in Korea's Inward FDI in Connection with Global Outward FDI)

  • A new protectionism caused by the US-China competition and a following new Cold War would have a negative impact on global FDI. In this time, this study researched the effects of the long lasting global openness and liberalization on Korea's Inward FDI. 1,387 foreign invested companies in Korea were analyzed. The results are summarized as follows. First, Korea's FDI has been expanded under the environment of globalization. The IFDI amount and share in GDP increased. Seven countries out of the world top 10 were listed in Korea' the top 10. However, the share of the US and Japan's FDI in Korea's IFDI decreased. Second, non-manufacturing industry became prevalent in Korea's IFDI. Considering it's local market-oriented characteristics, the biggest investment motivation by global companies was Korean market pursuit. The US was more local market-oriented than Japan. Third, cross-border M&A, which became active in developed countries since 1980s, also kicked off in Korea from late 1990s. Global companies managed foreign-invested companies in Korea with shares close to wholly owned. The US had higher share ratios than Japan. The implications by this research are as follows. First, looming protectionism by a New Cold War would negatively affect Korea's IFDI through the adverse function of globalization. Second, Korea's IFDI has been converted to a market pursuit type being mainly leaded by non-manufacturing industry. Since GDP is the largest FDI motive in this type of FDI, the key policy for IFDI promotion is lying in the expansion of domestic market rather than deregulation.

  • Recently, International Standardization is an important issue in competitive world market because of integration of standard, liberalization of international trade and globalization. Consequently, Korean companies need a strategy about corresponding to market circumstance and global standard. In this study, we examine Intellectual Property, Patent and Antitrust Law which are related to standardization. This study suggests company strategy and system integration model to dispose the global standard.

Also, for that situation, Producers and Distributors request successful marketing strategy establishment and in the concrete, I present a counterplan strategy based on 4P(price, product differentiation, sales promotion, distribution) strategy.

  • There is difference between European Cuisine and Korean Cuisine in various ways. In order to advance Korean Food into European Market, we should understand well European food-culture and food-custom. There are several process for push into the European Market. First, we inform European like that Korea traditional food (repast tool, the interior of Korean restaurant, traditional music, food-sequence, service method etc.). Second, we can introduce them ' Korean Fusion Food ' and that Korean Cuisine is ' Health foods '. For globalization of Korean Cuisine, we must understand exactly European market situation and know well the field law and tax system for business. Next, we establish the prior plan to supply with Korean food material till faraway region.

  • The purpose of this paper is to extend and globalize the Walrasian evolutionary cobweb model in an independent single local market of Brock and Hommes ([3]), to the case of the global market evolution over an infinite chain of many local markets interacting each other through a diffusion of prices between them. In the case of decreasing demands and increasing supplies with a weighted average of rational and naive predictors, we investigate, via the methods of Lattice Dynamical System, the spatial-temporal behaviors of global market dynamics and show that some kind of bounded dynamics of global market do exist and can be controlled by using the parameters in the model.

  • The EU holds about 50% of exports and imports in the world trade of services. The insurance markets have undergone a significant consolidation in solvency rule, cross-border registration, and standardized accounts. In the EU-Korea FTA negotiations the EU is interested in mutual certification of qualifications as well as market liberalization of law, finance and distribution and so forth. When the negotiation with respect to the mutual certification of qualifications comes to a settlement, the two countries will drive it in service areas. Korea should examine european certification regulations and improve domestic insurance-related institutions. France is the focal country of the EU. The paper provides a comparative study of insurance markets and agents in France and Korea. The paper argues that Korea should initiate institutional changes and be transformed into an insurance service exporting country for the specialized insurance agents to move to EU countries.

  • Recently, due to the gloalization of the industry environment and the consequent multi-national companies led by industrialized countries, fashion companies of newly industrialized countries are pursuing to globalize their businesses. This study conducted to review the global configuration of activities of the added value chain, the strategies to enhance global competitiveness, and global performance of value activities of Korean fashion companies. The data were collected from the survey by questionnaire on Korean fashion companies. The methods of analysis used in this study were regression, and descriptive statistics of the data. the results werw as follows. First, Korean fashion companies were undergoing diverse value activities through their foreign subsidiaries and overseas out-sourced companies in a wide spectrum of business activities ranging from design/planning o products to marketing/logistics. Second, the global competitive strategies that the Korean fashion companies were most focused on were the cost/productivity aspects. The efforts to differentiate the products from competitors, the efforts for innovation, an the efforts of growth were the next strategies. The strategy that was least emphasized was on seeking alliance with other business partners. Third, the result of the globalization efforts showed an overseas market growth of and average of 9%, and an average overseas market profit of 7.8%. The overall satisfaction on the result of the overseas market activities, and the rate of accomplishment of market targets were generally low.

  • IT 중소벤처기업들은 기업의 영세성과 무경험성, 기술중심적인 경영과 국내 편향적인 경영 등으로 인해 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 오늘날 전세계 경제의 개방화, 통합화에 따라 기업의 국제화 (Globalization) 또는 세계화(Internationalization)는 더욱 가속화되고 있다. 이러한 국제화의 흐름은 비단 대기업이나 다국적기업 뿐만이 아니라 중소기업 또는 신생 벤처기업에도 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 그러나 우리나라 벤처기업의 경우 양적인 팽창에 비해 질적인 성장이 따르지 못해 여러 가지 문제가 나타나고 있다. 이는 우리나라와 같이 보유기술이나 잠재적인 역량에 비해 상대적으로 협소한 시장규모와 극심한 경쟁상황에 놓여있는 기술집약적 벤처기업의 경우라면 규모의 경제나 범위의 경제를 달성하기 힘들어 더욱 심각해진다. 본 연구에서는 전세계적으로 많은 중소 벤처기업들이 성장과정에서 국제화를 추진하는 배경 및 창업 초기부터 국제화된 기업의 형태를 갖춘 벤처기업들의 유형별 현황과 이들 기업과 경쟁력을 확보하기 위한 우리나라 벤처기업의 국제화의 필요성에 대하여 논의한다.
