A review of economic valuation methods for rural women′s labor (여성농업인 노동의 경제적 가치평가 방법에 관한 소고)

  • Recently the rural women's role has been changed from assisting men to leading major farm work. However, contribution of women in the rural area has not beers fairly evaluated. Hence, it has been difficult for the rural women to receive the reasonable compensation if they injured, had some disasters or were divorced. Therefore this study tried to suggest economic methods such as market cost approach, opportunity cost method and shadow wage method for evaluating rural women's labor. It might provide some information for helping to establish the status of rural women as a income earner through estimating money value of labor contributed by rural women and furthermore, be useful information to improve the efficiency of farm labor by exploring the relationship between value of labor and actual income. Hence, it might help improve the economic situation and life at home of rural women, solve difficulties in the real life and reduce disparity of economic distribution between urban and rural area.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce and test an extension of dichotomous choice contingent valuation(DC-CV) methods of pre-test-market evaluation using the specific case of a cable telev-ision service. Specifically we used a double-bounded DC-CV approach. On the whole respondents accepted the contingent market and were willing to contribute a significant amount on average. This willingness varies according to individual characteristics and concerns about the service. It is concluded that the methods are potentially a useful tool for decision-makers in measuring the po-tential demand for a new cable television service and considering the provision of the service.

  • This paper introduces a variable of methodology and models of solving Security-Constrained Price-Based Unit Commitment(SPUC) Problems in the Deregulated Power Market. The objective of SPUC is coordination between GENCOs and the ISO. GENCOs apply Price-Based Unit Commitment(PBUC) without security constraints and submit capacity bids to the ISO for maximizing their revenues. Using generation data and transmission data obtained from TRANSCOs, the ISO applies Security-Constrained Unit Commitment(SCUC), executes congestion management and contingency analysis for minimizing line flow violations and the risk supplying loads. Considering analysis data, the ISO should adjust GENCOS' bid. In this paper, we presents the result of survey and analyze on the approach of the SPUC problem.

  • This study is to develop a web-based integrated system for flow of agricultural products based on recent researches with engineering approach. The system stands on the basis of web for accessibility and usability. Three parts of the system consist of analysis of regional shipping characteristics using tank model, estimation of pallet load efficiency with Monte Carlo Simulation, a long term prediction of market price with reliability analysis. Besides a decision support module for selecting optimal shipping market is added through synthesizing techniques and spatial analysis using GIS and applied to Chinese cabbage of Pyeongchang in 2004.

  • Conversion of light energy to electrical energy by using a solar cell has long been considered as one of the option for an electrical energy supply in the future. In the past, commercial use was restricted largely to remote area applications where conventional electricity is expensive. Recently, the major application of the solar cells changed to become generation of residential electricity in urban areas where the electricity is already supplied by the conventional grid. This paper covers the current market and technology status of the solar cells and future prospect of their terrestrial applications. Reviewing market trend, this paper discusses high efficiency approach in silicon solar cells, low cost approach in silicon solar cells and finally covers future prospects of silicon solar cells.

  • Marketing is a topic of growing interest to nonprofit organizational managers(for example, hospitals, museums, charities and, churches, universities and colleges) as their organizations confront new, complex marketplace problems. These organization heads(specially in university and college) are laking their first, tentative steps toward marketing, often confusing it with its advertising and selling subfunctions. A genuine marketing response has been undertaken by a relatively small number of college in america. Their approach is best described as market-oriented institutional planning. In these approach, marketing is recognized as much more then mere promotion, and indeed, the issue of promotion cannot be settled in principles until more fundamental issues are resolved. According to market-oriented institutional planning customer satisfaction is one of the most important concept in university(college) marketing. Therefore, this study reviews literatures about university(college) marketing and general customer satisfaction. The literature study suggests some research hypotheses about customer satisfaction in college. Next, these hypotheses are tested empirically using ${\chi}^2-test$, multiple linear regression analysis and t-test. The research results worth explorative study on the customer satisfaction in the college.

  • Given the change in the energy market, large energy storage systems (ESS) is rapidly entering the market. In this rapid spread, fire accidents are becoming an issue. This study attempts to approach the fire from the system point of view to analyze the problems caused by bonding from different perspectives. Moreover, to conduct this study, the fabrication of real objects is dangerous, which needs to be verified through simulation. In this study, we approach the cause of fire that occurs in large-capacity ESS from the system perspective. We focus on determining the effects of cell balancing performed on the BMS after charging. Thus, we analyze the cell balancing behavior and the linkage risks to the various stacks. The study also explores why no fire occurs during 70% operation.

  • As malicious apps vary significantly across Android malware, it is challenging to prevent that the end-users download apps from unsecured app markets. In this paper, we propose an approach to classify the malicious methods based on permissions using Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) that is used to embed the semantics among Intent and permissions. Then the malicious method that is an unsecured method will be removed and re-uploaded to official market. This approach may induce that the end-users download apps from official market in order to reduce the risk of attacks.

Bitcoin Algorithm Trading using Genetic Programming

  • The author presents a simple data-driven intraday technical indicator trading approach based on Genetic Programming (GP) for return forecasting in the Bitcoin market. We use five trend-following technical indicators as input to GP for developing trading rules. Using data on daily Bitcoin historical prices from January 2017 to February 2020, our principal results show that the combination of technical analysis indicators and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, primarily GP, is a potential forecasting tool for Bitcoin prices, even outperforming the buy-and-hold strategy. Sensitivity analysis is employed to adjust the number and values of variables, activation functions, and fitness functions of the GP-based system to verify our approach's robustness.

The Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Relationship Structure between Volatility and Trading Volume in the BTC Market: A CRQ approach (COVID-19 팬데믹이 BTC 변동성과 거래량의 관계구조에 미친 영향 분석: CRQ 접근법)

  • This study found an interesting fact that the nonlinear relationship structure between volatility and trading volume changed before and after the COVID-19 pandemic according to empirical analysis using Bitcoin (BTC) market data that sensitively reflects investors' trading behavior. That is, their relationship appeared positive (+) in a stable market state before COVID-19 pandemic, as in theory based on the information flow paradigm. In a state under severe market stress due to COVID-19 pandemic, however, their dependence structure changed and even negative (-). This can be seen as a consequence of increased market stress caused by COVID-19 pandemics from a behavioral economics perspective, resulting in structural changes in the asset market and a significant impact on the nonlinear dependence of volatility and trading volume (in particular, their dependence at extreme quantiles). Hence, it should be recognized that in addition to information flows, psychological phenomena such as behavioral biases or herd behavior, which are closely related to market stress, can be a key in changing their dependence structure. For empirical analysis, this study performs a test of Ross (2015) for detecting a structural change, and proposes a Copula Regression Quantiles (CRQ) approach that can identify their nonlinear relationship structure and the asymmetric dependence in their distribution tails without the assumption of i.i.d. random variable. In addition, it was confirmed that when the relationship between their extreme values was analyzed by linear models, incorrect results could be derived due to model specification errors.
