  • Purpose: The purpose of this prospective study is to compare the results of arthroscopic reconstruction of ACL using autologous hamstring tendon (Group 1) and autologous bone patella tendon bone (Group 2). Materials and Methods: From Jan. 2004 to Dec. 2007, fifty patients were analyzed in this study. A single surgeon performed the ACL reconstruction with autologous hamstring tendon (25 patients) and autologous bone patella tendon bone (25 patients) alternatively each other. The mean follow up period of two groups was 38 months (range 25~58 months). We evaluated the result of Lachman test, Pivot shift test as a physical examination and Lysholm score, Tagner activity scale as patients' satisfaction and functional status and Telometer for anterior instability of each groups at the time of final follow up. Results: In final results, negative or mild positive findings on Lachman test were 24 out of 25 cases (equally) in each groups.) Twenty two cases in the Group 1 and 21 cases in the Group 2 were negative on Pivot shift test. Lysholm scores mark 94.6 points in group 1 and 92.3 points in group 2 at the final follow up and Tegner activity scales mark 8.5 points (Group 1) and 8.1 points (Group 2) at the time of last follow up and there were no differences between the two groups statistically. The numbers of patients who have less than 5 mm of anterior translation of tibia under telometer at 20 degrees of knee flexion are 24 cases in group 1 and 23 cases in group 2. Conclusion: The overall improvements of clinical scores (Lysholm scores and Tegner Activity scales) of the group 1 were a little bit superior to those of the group 2, but there were no significant statistical difference between two groups.

  • The most important property for coming up to the global change and leading the knowledge-based future is human resources who has capacity to make a high value-added knowledge. For whom teaching knowledge and experiences related to the managing medical organization, it is very important and significant to make efforts to reflect educational goal, contents and teaching methods satisfying the new era's demands in the curriculum quickly. To develop a hospital management curriculum which is receptive to the change of medical industry and educational circumstances, analysing syllabuses of 19 departments of the year 2007 and surveying of professors, students and persons in charges of hospital administration are used. The syllabuses of 19 departments of 22 colleges were opened for this study. The medical record and other subjects take the most part of curriculums, while the number of subjects related to management or administrational practice are relatively small. The short of these subjects are obstacles to cultivate capacity and quality of students medical organizations look for. As the result of satisfaction measurement, hospital-management professors gave 3.41 points, students gave 3.29 points to the current curriculum and administrators who has been experienced to employ graduates majored in medical management gave 3.06 points.(5 points = full mark) Alternative ways are suggested to complement these problems as below: Strengthening and deepening study such subjects as strategy planning, management, marketing, managing medical disputes, quality improvement, PR, advertisement; changing informations and establishing cooperative programs between school and industry.

  • The Internet banking service, through which customers process their banking-related works, was introduced in July 1997. The service has since spread quickly, and as of the end of June 2000, just one year after its introduction into Korea, its subscribers numbered 1.23 million people. This figure is ten times larger than the 120,000 subscribers recorded over the six months period up to the end of 1999. In addition, since the end of June 2000, subscriptions on average increase by more than 10,000 a day, and by the end of December 2000, it is expected to pass the 3 million mark. There has been no empirical study conducted on the invigorated Internet banking's status and its services. Therefore, this research is designed to conduct a survey on the Internet banking service status, to conduct actual transactions from the viewpoint of customers and then make a empirical evaluation of it. This will indicate directions for improvement and development of the domestic Internet banking service. We have evaluated ten areas of the Internet banking service including financial service, customers service, users'convenience, and system safety. As of the end of June 2000, 18 out of 20 commercial domestic banks are providing an Internet banking service, and we have conducted evaluations of all these banks. The evaluation is divided into ten categories with 100 points as a maximum score. These are then classified into six grades AAA, AA, A, BBB, BB and B. The outcome of this evaluation was featured in the major domestic journals, and the banks, acknowledging the value of the report, declared that they would adopt it as their criteria for evaluation.

  • Specific hydrodynamic characteristic of pump-turbine during the start and load rejection process of generating mode causes anomalous increase of water pressure, along with large machine vibration, called "S" characteristic. The aim of this study is to understand and explain the hydrodynamic performance of pump-turbine at "S" characteristic region by using a model of pump-turbine system. The operation in the condition of runway and low discharge in a typical "S" characteristic curve may become unstable and complex flow appears at the passage of guide vane and impeller. Therefore, velocity and pressure distribution are investigated to give an all-sided explanation of the formation and phenomenon of this characteristic, with the assistance of velocity triangle analysis at the impeller inlet. From this study, the internal flow and pressure fluctuation at the normal, runway and low discharge points are explored, giving a deep description of hydrodynamic characteristic when the pump-turbine system operates with "S" characteristic.
