The purpose of this study was to estimate the ability of the marginal fit of Glass ionomer cement. Using the human extracted teeth and 2% acqueous solution of methylene blue, the author investigated the marginal penetration of dye in restorative materials such as Amalgam, Hi-Pol, Glass ionomer cement, Estic microfill and Restodent. The results were as follows. 1. All filling materials showed some degree of marginal penetration. 2. Glass ionomer cement revealed nearly the same microleakage as Estic microfill and Hi-Pol, but showed inferior effect of the marginal seal as compared with Restodent. 3. It is appeared that Amalgam has more effective ability of the marginal fit than the others within a week.
Purpose: This study examined the effect of wettability of gypsum materials and rubber impression material on the marginal fitness of zirconia copings. Methods: Three commercially available gypsum materials(Fugirock EP, Snow Rock, Tuff Rock) and three zirconia blocks(iJAM Emerald, LUXEN Smile block, ICE Zirkon transluzent) were studied. The zirconia copings were fabricated by using dental CAD/CAM system. Contact angles on the impression materials were measured with contact angle measuring device. Silicone replica method was used to measure the marginal fitness and cutting was performed on the bucco-lingual and mesio-distal sides. It were observed with a stereomicroscope at °ø40 magnification. The data were statistically analyzed with One-way ANOVA. Results: Mean values of contact angles were $58.3{\pm}0.7^{\circ}$ for Tuff Rock, $77.5{\pm}0.5^{\circ}$ for Fugirock EP and $87.8{\pm}0.5^{\circ}$ for Snow Rock and the difference between them was statistically significant(p<0.05). The smallest values of marginal fitness for the JF groups were $30.7{\pm}3.0{\mu}m$ for bucco-lingual direction, $29.3{\pm}3.0{\mu}m$ for mesio-distal direction. One-way ANOVA showed statistically significant difference between groups for marginal fitness(p<0.05). Conclusion: Tuff rock gypsum material had superior wettability to others. The mean marginal fitness of the Tuff rock gypsum material group were significantly better than other groups. Thus they can be also expected to show clinically satisfactory marginal fitness.
The roles of temporary sealing materials used in endodontics are impotant Especially, its marginal sealing properties affect endodontic success and failure in endodontic treatment The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare and evaluate the marginal sealing properties of various temporary restorative materials used in endodontic access cavity by using electrochemical method. Standard endodontic access cavities were prepared in extracted human molar teeth and filled with Caviton, IRM, zinc oxide - eugenol cement. Each specimen was immersed in 1 % solution of KCl, and applied a potential of 9 V external power supply. Marginal microleakage and water sorption were measured for marginal sealing effect evaluation in comparison with each group. A comparative study of the obtained results have led to the following conclusions. 1. The Caviton group showed lower marginal microleakage value than the zinc oxide - eugenol cement and IRM group the 6 th day after. The IRM group showed lwoer marginal microleakage value than the zinc oxide - eugenol cement group from the 6 th day to the 12 th day. But there was no significant difference between zinc oxide - eugenol cement and IRM group after the 13 th day. 2. As time went by, marginal microleakage value was increased in Caviton, IRM and zine oxide - eugenol cement.
Purpose - On the basis of discussing the network economy concept and the commentary of the marginal revenue decreasing of traditional economic theory, The concept of network economy has just been put forward in recent years. The reason why such a concept appears is that the information technology, marked by computer network, plays an increasingly important role in economic activities. Some people define network economy as an economic form based on network technology and human capital. this paper points out network economy existing the marginal revenue increasing and analyzes the reasons that influencing the marginal revenue increasing. Research design, data, methodology - The network economy has fundamentally changed the traditional economic laws. The economic basis of industrial society is the law of incremental marginal cost, which reflects the socialization of high cost in industrial society. Results - As the number of network members increases, the value of the network increases explosively, and the value increases attract more members to join, resulting in more returns. Conclusion - In conclusion, network economy has changed many aspects of traditional economy, resulting in decreasing marginal cost, decreasing transaction cost in and out of enterprise organizations, and making the effect of increasing scale compensation more prominent. This is of great significance to the information construction in China.
PURPOSE. This study evaluated marginal fit of glass infiltrated alumina cores fabricated using two techniques and their marginal stability after firing cycles of veneering porcelain. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Fifteen standardized all-ceramic crowns were fabricated on a metal die using each technique: slip cast technique of VITA In-Ceram sprint Alumina (Group A as control) and plastic foil matrix technique of Turkom-Cera fused alumina core system (Group B). Copings were compared between groups and within groups at coping stage and after firing each layer of veneering porcelain. A device was used to standardize seating of copings on the metal die and positioning of the specimens under the microscope after each stage of fabrication. The specimens were not cemented and marginal gap was measured using an image analyzing software (Imagepro Express) on the photographs captured under an optical microscope. Two tailed unpaired 't test' was used to compare marginal gaps in two groups and one way ANOVA was used to analyze marginal distortion within each group at 95% confidence interval. RESULTS. The marginal gap was smaller at the coping stage in group B ($60+30{\mu}M$) than group A ($81+21{\mu}M$) with statistical significance. After firing of veneering porcelain the difference was insignificant. At the final stage, both groups exhibited lower mean marginal gaps than at the initial coping stage with the difference of $11.75{\mu}M$ for group A and $11.94{\mu}M$ for group B, but it was statistically insignificant due to high value of standard deviation. CONCLUSION. Within the limitations of this study, it was concluded that both techniques produced copings with comparable and acceptable marginal fit and marginal stability on firing veneering porcelain.
PURPOSE. To evaluate the impact of five different tooth preparation designs on the marginal and internal fit discrepancies of cobalt-chromium (CoCr) crowns produced by computer-aided designing (CAD) and selective laser melting (SLM) processes. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Five preparation data were constructed, after which design crowns were obtained. Actual crowns were fabricated using an SLM process. After the data of actual crowns were obtained with structural light scanning, intaglio surfaces of the design crown and actual crown were virtually superimposed on the preparation. The fit-discrepancies were displayed with colors, while the root means square was calculated and analyzed with one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Tukey's test or Kruskal-Wallis test (α = .05). RESULTS. The marginal or internal color-coded images in the five design groups were not identical. The shoulder-lip and sharp line angle groups in the CAD or SLM process had larger marginal or internal fit discrepancies compared to other groups (P < .05). In the CAD process, the mean marginal and internal fit discrepancies were 10.0 to 24.2 ㎛ and 29.6 to 31.4 ㎛, respectively. After the CAD and SLM processes, the mean marginal and internal fit discrepancies were 18.4 to 40.9 ㎛ and 39.1 to 47.1 ㎛, respectively. The SLM process itself resulted in a positive increase of the marginal (6.0 - 16.7 ㎛) and internal (9.0 - 15.7 ㎛) fit discrepancies. CONCLUSION. The CAD and SLM processes affected the fit of CoCr crowns and varied based on the preparation designs. Typically, the shoulder-lip and sharp line angle designs had a more significant effect on crown fit. However, the differences between the design groups were relatively small, especially when compared to fit discrepancies observed clinically.
Objectives : The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of firing cycles on the marginal and internal fit of metal ceramic crown. Methods : Ten same cases of stone models (abutment teeth 11) were manufactured. Ten cobalt-chrome cores were made per each models and the marginal and internal fit was evaluated through a silicone replica technique. The marginal and internal fit of specimens was measured twice. The first measurement was done after manufacturing cobalt-chrome alloy core and the second measurement was done after porcelain firing. T-test of paired sample for statistical analysis was executed with SPSS 12.0K for Windows (${\alpha}$=0.05). Results : Mean(SD) marginal and internal fit were 77.1(23.3) ${\mu}m$ for the cobalt-chrome alloy core group and 84.4(21.9) ${\mu}m$ for the metal-ceramic crown group. They were statistically significant differences between groups for marginal and internal fit (p<.05). Conclusions : All metal ceramic crowns showed marginal and internal fit ranged within the current clinical recommendations.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the marginal adaptation of Class V resin restorations by the filling techniques. The cavities were filled with Heliosit$^{(R)}$ light curing composite resin system in accordance with the following three filling techniques - bulk-pack placement technique, apical to occlusal layering placement technique, and buccolingual layering placement technique. And the interface between the restoration and the tooth structure was observed with scanning electron microscope. The following results were obtained. 1. Marginal adaptation of enamel showed excellent irrespective of the filling techniques. 2. Marginal leakage of dentin was observed irrespective of the filling techniques. 3. No difference of marginal adaptation according to the filling techniques was observed in light curing composite resin.
PURPOSE. This study aimed to evaluate the fit of zirconia ceramics before and after veneering, using 3 different veneering processes (layering, press-over, and CAD-on techniques). MATERIALS AND METHODS. Thirty standardized zirconia CAD/CAM frameworks were constructed and divided into three groups of 10 each. The first group was veneered using the traditional layering technique. Press-over and CAD-on techniques were used to veneer second and third groups. The marginal gap of specimens was measured before and after veneering process at 18 sites on the master die using a digital microscope. Paired t-test was used to evaluate mean marginal gap changes. One-way ANOVA and post hoc tests were also employed for comparison among 3 groups (${\alpha}$=.05). RESULTS. Marginal gap of 3 groups was increased after porcelain veneering. The mean marginal gap values after veneering in the layering group ($63.06{\mu}m$) was higher than press-over ($50.64{\mu}m$) and CAD-on ($51.50{\mu}m$) veneered groups (P<.001). CONCLUSION. Three veneering methods altered the marginal fit of zirconia copings. Conventional layering technique increased the marginal gap of zirconia framework more than pressing and CADon techniques. All ceramic crowns made through three different veneering methods revealed clinically acceptable marginal fit.
This study was conducted to determine the cause of the occurence of marginal leaf chlorosis in ginseng plants (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer), and to determine its emersion in fields (practically) and in pots (experimentally). The following results were obtained. In the Present investigation, ginseng plants raised in acidic soil containing a high a moue t of Mn showed marginal leaf chlorosis. Henre it Ivas suggested that the shoot growth and root weights became grad gractually lower. The leaves having marginal leaf chlorosis contained low amounts of N, P,. Ca, Mg, and Na and the Fe/Mn ratios were low. There was a corresponding increase in Mn uptake. It was founrl that in soils where marginal leaf chlorisis occured the pH urar brlolv 4.2 to 4.9 and the Ca, Mg and Na content was decreased thus effectively increasing the available manganese in the soil. The Mn/Fe ratios in the yellow leaf margins of ginseng Plants affected by the Mn toxicity was over 2.0 compared to the general Mn/Fe ratio of 0.50 for healthily leaves, stems and roots. Typically when ginseng plants grow fields having soil with a pH below about 5.0, there tenor to be an uptake of excess Mn. When ginseng plants are grown in a nutrient sand culture solution It with an increased Mn concentration, they accumulate large amounts of Mn in the roots and in the shoots. In both casts marginal leaf chlorosis appeared in the emersions. In the Present investigation, ginseng plants raised in acidic soil and containing a high amount of Mn showed marginal leaf chlorosis.
