In recent years, malicious codes are being produced using the developing information and communication technology, and it is insufficient to detect them with the existing detection system. In order to accurately and efficiently detect and respond to such intelligent malicious code, an intelligent detection model is required, and in order to maximize detection performance, it is important to train with the main characteristic information set of the malicious code. In this paper, we proposed a technique for designing an intelligent detection model and generating the data required for model training as a set of key feature information through transformation, dimensionality reduction, and feature selection steps. And based on this, the main characteristic information was classified by malicious code. In addition, based on the classified characteristic information, we derived common characteristic information that can be used to analyze and detect modified or newly emerging malicious codes. Since the proposed detection model detects malicious codes by learning with a limited number of characteristic information, the detection time and response are fast, so damage can be greatly reduced and Although the performance evaluation result value is slightly different depending on the learning algorithm, it was found through evaluation that most malicious codes can be detected.
This paper proposes a method for detecting malicious domains considering human habitual characteristics by building a Deep Learning model based on LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory). DGA (Domain Generation Algorithm) malicious domains exploit human habitual errors, resulting in severe security threats. The objective is to swiftly and accurately respond to changes in malicious domains and their evasion techniques through typosquatting to minimize security threats. The LSTM-based Deep Learning model automatically analyzes and categorizes generated domains as malicious or benign based on malware-specific features. As a result of evaluating the model's performance based on ROC curve and AUC accuracy, it demonstrated 99.21% superior detection accuracy. Not only can this model detect malicious domains in real-time, but it also holds potential applications across various cyber security domains. This paper proposes and explores a novel approach aimed at safeguarding users and fostering a secure cyber environment against cyber attacks.
As the usage of mobile devices extremely increases, malicious mobile apps(applications) that target mobile users are also increasing. It is challenging to detect these malicious apps using traditional malware detection techniques due to intelligence of today's attack mechanisms. Deep learning (DL) is an alternative technique of traditional signature and rule-based anomaly detection techniques and thus have actively been used in numerous recent studies on malware detection. In order to develop DL-based defense mechanisms against intelligent malicious apps, feeding recent datasets into DL models is important. In this paper, we develop a DL-based model for detecting intelligent malicious apps using KU-CISC 2018-Android, the most up-to-date dataset consisting of benign and malicious Android apps. This dataset has hardly been addressed in other studies so far. We extract OPcode sequences from the Android apps and preprocess the OPcode sequences using an N-gram model. We then feed the preprocessed data into LSTM and apply the concept of Information Gain to improve performance of detecting malicious apps. Furthermore, we evaluate our model with numerous scenarios in order to verify the model's design and performance.
Mobile malicious code is typically spread by the worm, and although modeling techniques to analyze the dispersion characteristics of the worms have been proposed, only macroscopic analysis was possible while there are limitations in predicting on certain viruses and malicious code. In this paper, prediction methods have been proposed which was based on Markov chain and is able to predict the occurrence of future malicious code by utilizing the past malicious code data. The average value of the malicious code to be applied to the prediction model of Markov chain model was applied by classifying into three categories of the total average, the last year average, and the recent average (6 months), and it was verified that malicious code prediction possibility could be increased by comparing the predicted values obtained through applying, and applying the recent average (6 months).

Recently, various studies on malicious URL detection using artificial intelligence have been conducted, and most of the research have shown great detection performance. However, not only does classical machine learning require a process of analyzing features, but the detection performance of a trained model also depends on the data analyst's ability. In this paper, we propose a DL-ML Fusion Hybrid Model for malicious web site URL detection based on URL lexical features. the propose model combines the automatic feature extraction layer of deep learning and classical machine learning to improve the feature engineering issue. 60,000 malicious and normal URLs were collected for the experiment and the results showed 23.98%p performance improvement in maximum. In addition, it was possible to train a model in an efficient way with the automation of feature engineering.
A Trojan malicious code is one of largest malicious codes and has been known as a virus that causes damage to a system as itself. However, it has been changed as a type that picks user information out stealthily through a backdoor method, and worms or viruses, which represent a characteristic of the Trojan malicious code, have recently been increased. Although several modeling methods for analyzing the diffusion characteristics of worms have proposed, it allows a macroscopic analysis only and shows limitations in estimating specific viruses and malicious codes. Thus, in this study an ESP model that can estimate future occurrences of Trojan malicious codes using the previous Trojan data is proposed. It is verified that the estimated value obtained using the proposed model is similar to the existing actual frequency in causes of the comparison between the obtained value and the result obtained by the Markov chain.

This study focuses on detection of malicious code through AndroidManifest permissoion feature extracted based on Android static analysis. Features are built on the permissions of AndroidManifest, which can save resources and time for analysis. Malicious app detection model consisted of SVM (support vector machine), NB (Naive Bayes), Gradient Boosting Classifier (GBC) and Logistic Regression model which learned 1,500 normal apps and 500 malicious apps and 98% detection rate. In addition, malicious app family identification is implemented by multi-classifiers model using algorithm SVM, GPC (Gaussian Process Classifier) and GBC (Gradient Boosting Classifier). The learned family identification machine learning model identified 92% of malicious app families.

Document-type malicious codes are being actively distributed using attachments on websites or e-mails. Document-type malicious code is relatively easy to bypass security programs because the executable file is not executed directly. Therefore, document-type malicious code should be detected and prevented in advance. To detect document-type malicious code, we identified the document structure and selected keywords suspected of being malicious. We then created a dataset by converting the stream data in the document to ASCII code values. We specified the location of malicious keywords in the document stream data, and classified the stream as malicious by recognizing the adjacent information of the malicious keywords. As a result of detecting malicious codes by applying the CNN model, we derived accuracies of 0.97 and 0.92 in stream units and file units, respectively.

Recently smartphone market is rapidly growing and application market has also grown significantly. Mobile applications have been provided in various forms, such as education, game, SNS, weather and news. And It is distributed through a variety of distribution channels. Malicious applications deployed with malicious objectives are growing as well as applications that can be useful in everyday life well. In this study, Events from a malicious application that is provided by the normal application deployment and Android MalGenome Project through the open market were extracted and analyzed. And using the results, We create a model to determine whether the application is malicious. Finally, model was evaluated using a variety of statistical method.

With the advent of virtual currency and electronic wallets creating a way to make financial gains based on anonymity, malicious code dissemination using malicious mail has continued to increase. In order to minimize the damage, the human factors, security awareness and the ability to respond, which are technical factors, should be improved evenly, which can be improved through malicious mail training. This study presented a model considering the performance of malicious mail training, such as practice. It was classified as a training for enhancing awareness of security for employees and detection and response to improve their ability to respond to malicious mail. A training system suitable for the purpose, the core functions of malware training, implementation and camouflage skills, and bypass techniques were described. Based on the above model, the training data conducted over three years were collected and the effectiveness of the training was studied through analysis of the results according to the number of training sessions, training themes and camouflage techniques.
