일·가정생활 우선도와 일·가정 양립제도에 대한 인식차이가 근무 만족도에 미치는 영향력 분석 - 성별 차이를 보이는 산업군을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Influence of Work and family life priority and Recognition Difference of Work-Family Reconciliation Policy on Satisfaction of Working Condition Using Path Analysis Model : Focused on Industrial Groups Showing Gender Differences)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of perceptions of work and family life on employee job satisfaction and to form a policy approach that contributes to the enhancement of worker satisfaction. In particular, we wanted to analyze how the characteristics of each variable appeared in industry groups with different gender ratios of workers. A notable point of the study was that the respondents who answered that work and family had similar importance were satisfied with their working conditions. In addition, it was found that the higher an employee's evaluation of the work-family reconciliation policy, the higher the employee's satisfaction with their working conditions. As a result of a path analysis, it was found that the most male-dominant industry was manufacturing, and the most female-dominant industry was health and social welfare. In the case of respondents who were employed in the most-male dominant industry, the degree of an employee's understanding of the work-family reconciliation policy recognition, rather than the relative priorities of work and family life, had a greater effect on job satisfaction. On the other hand, respondents who were employed in the most-female dominant industry confirmed that their level of education was highly related to the degree of institutional recognition.

제조업 근로자들의 작업과 연관된 요통의 위험요인에 관한 연구 (Risk Factors of Work-related Low Back Pain in Manufacturing Workers)

  • Work-related low back pain is one of the major factors that cause the loss of working power especially in actively working age, therefore controlling the work-related low back pain is one of the major issues in the field of industrial safety and health. This study was performed for detecting the risk factors and proposing the efficient control program of the work-related low back pain. The subjects were male workers employed at the manufacturing industry in Pusan with longer than 6 months' working duration. The data was collected by self-reported questionnaire and interview from May 1 to October 31,1992. The contents of questionnaire were as follows:. the experience of low back pain within the recent one month, general characteristics(age, marital status, education level, religion, regular exercise), physical characteristics(height, weight), employment status(working duration, daily working hours, rest during work, satis(action fur the job), type of work and working environments(posture, forward bending, lifting and movement, satisfaction for table and chair). The result was analyzed for 608 entire respondents by case-control comparative method. The number of cases was 152 with a history of work-related low back pain, so the relative frequency of self-reported work-related low back pain was 25.0%, and the number of controls was 344 without any history of low back pain. As a result, two characteristics of the employment status(working duration, satisfaction fur the job) and all characteristics of type of work and working environments showed a statistical significance between the case and control groups(p<0.01). The Oddb ratios of these variables for Work-related low back pain were calculated. They were 7.88 for the satisfaction fur chair, 7.86 for lifting and movement,3.31 for satisfaction for table, and 2.22 fur bending forward(p<0.01). And for the multivariate logistic regression analysis confirmed that unsatisfaction for table was independent risk factor for Work-related low back pain. In summary, though this study was based upon the self-reported questionnaire and the subjective complaints, the satisfaction for chair, lifting and movement, satisfaction for table, and bending forward concerned with the type of work and working environments were considered as the main factors causing the work-related low back pain, and the work-related low back pain may be preventable by the ergonomic control of these factors.

산업체 근로자의 직무스트레스와 카페인 섭취의 상관성 (Relationships between job stress and caffeine intake in industrial workers)

  • 본 연구는 산업체근로자들의 직무스트레스와 카페인 섭취량을 알아보고, 직무스트레스에 따른 카페인 섭취량과의 관련성에 대해 살펴보고자 실시하였다. 연구 대상자의 직무스트레스 총합은 100점 환산 기준으로 $72.7{\pm}6.8$점으로 나타났으며, 연구 대상자들의 직무스트레스 정도에 따라 스트레스를 가장 적게 받는 그룹은 Q1, 스트레스를 적게 받는 그룹은 Q2, 스트레스를 많이 받는 그룹은 Q3, 스트레스를 가장 많이 받는 그룹은 Q4로 구분 하였다. 이들이 느끼는 스트레스는 조직적 관리체계에 대한 스트레스가 $21.9{\pm}3.3$점으로 직무요구도 $19.9{\pm}5.1$점, 보상 부적절 $16.1{\pm}2.5$점, 직무자율성 결여 $14.7{\pm}2.1$점에 비해 가장 높았다. 카페인에 대한 인지도 조사결과 카페인이 건강에 미칠 영향에 대해 스트레스가 가장 높은 군 (Q4)에서 '적당히 마시면 도움이 되고 해롭지 않다' 57.1%, '적게 마실수록 좋다'고 응답한 사람들이 17.3%로 스트레스가 많을수록 카페인은 적당히 섭취하면 도움이 되고 해롭지 않으나 적게 마실수록 좋다고 하였다. 스트레스 정도에 따른 카페인 섭취량을 보면 커피믹스 (1봉 47.51 mg)는 Q3에서 $86.1{\pm}56.4mg$ (p < 0.01), 자판기 커피 (1잔 47.51 mg)는 Q2에서 $62.3{\pm}60.9mg$ (p < 0.05), 커피전문점 커피 (1잔 158.43 mg)는 Q4에서 $40.7{\pm}88.7mg$ (p < 0.001), 녹차 (1티백: 28 mg)는 Q4에서 $18.4{\pm}32.4mg$ (p < 0.01)으로 가장 높게 나타났다. 이에 따른 카페인 일일섭취량은 Q1에서 $172.0{\pm}85.3mg$, Q2에서 $179.0{\pm}83.7mg$, Q3에서 $187.9{\pm}81.4mg$, Q4에서 $214.2{\pm}147.3mg$ 으로 Q4그룹이 유의하게 높았다 (p < 0.05). 본 연구 결과 카페인 최대 일일 섭취권고량 대비 실제 카페인 섭취량 비율은 Q1에서 $43.0{\pm}21.3%$, Q2에서 $44.8{\pm}20.9%$, Q3에서 $47.1{\pm}20.4%$, Q4에서 $53.6{\pm}36.8%$로 일일섭취량과 같이 Q4그룹이 유의하게 높았다 (p < 0.05). 카페인 섭취에 따른 부작용으로는 속이 메슥거리거나 구토와 같은 부작용이 Q4에서 $2.7{\pm}0.8$로 유의하게 높았다 (p < 0.05). 대상자들의 카페인 섭취량은 직무스트레스는 유의한 양의 상관관계를 (r = 0.137, p = 0.009), 평균 근무시간과도 유의한 양의 상관성을 보였으며 (r = 0.122 p = 0.001), 수면시간 역시 유의한 양의 상관성을 보였다 (r = 0.169, p = 0.001). 반면 카페인 섭취량과 근무기간은 유의한 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다 (r = -0.114. p = 0.031). 본 연구의 결과, K 제조공장 근로자들은 스트레스 정도가 높아질수록 섭취하는 카페인 섭취량이 많았고, 스트레스를 많이 받는 군에서는 최대 일일 섭취권고량 대비 실제 카페인 섭취량 비율이 50% 정도로 나타나 한국 20세 성인남자보다 2배 이상 섭취하는 것으로 조사되었다.

n-Hexane 노출에 의한 신경행동학적 증상에 monoamine oxidase(B)와 serotonin transporter receptor 유전자다양성의 영향 (Genetic polymorphisms of monoamine oxidase(MAO) B and serotonin transporter receptor(5-HTTR) influence variability in neurobehavioral symptoms by n-hexane exposur)

  • Human occupational exposure to n-hexane has been associated with neurobehavioral symptoms such as depression, irritablity, acute irritation symptom, concentration disturbance and fatigue. Effects of monoamine oxidase (MAO) B and serotonin transporter receptor (5-HTTR) polymorphisms on the neurobehavioral symptoms were investigated in 70 male workers from TV and computer monitor manufacturing plants exposed to n-hexane. Neurobehavioral symptoms were assessed through a self-reported questionnaire and ambient level of n-hexane was measured by NIOSH method. Blood and urine were collected from each workers to determine the MAO(B), 5-HTTR and urinary 2,5-hexanedione(2,5-HD). The mean concentration of volatile n-hexane was $18.8{\pm}28.8ppm$ and that of urinary 2,5-HD was $1.07{\pm}1.47mg/g$ creatinine. Statistically significant associations with sexual disturbance were age and smoking. The frequencies of MAO(B) AA, AG and GG were 18.6%, 45.7% and 35.7%, respectively, and the frequencies of 5-HTTR ll, ls and ss genotype were 82.9%, 15.7% and 1.4%, respectively. MAO (B) gene polymorphisms had susceptibility to the neurobehavioral symptoms such as fatigue, concentration disturbance, irritability and acute irritation symptom and 5-HTTR gene polymorphism had susceptibility to the sleep disturbance and acute irritation symptom. On multiple logistic regression analysis for the neurobehavioral symptoms, memory disturbance was significantly associated with smoking(OR=6.752, 95% CI=37.46) and drinking(OR=4.033, 95% CI=1.252-12.98), emotional lability was MAO(B) genotype(OR=0.412, 95% CI=0.170-0.996), fatigue (OR=1.011, 95% CI=1.000-1.021) and acute irritation(OR=0.990, 95% CI=0.981-1.000) were working duration and sexual disturbance were significantly associated with age(OR=1.208, 95% CI=1.042-1.399), ambient n-hexane(OR=1.077, 95% CI=1.005-1.154) and 2,5-HD(OR=0.186, 95% CI=0.041-0.841). This finding implies that the MAO (B) and 5-HTTR polymorphisms may affect susceptibility for specific neurobehavioral symptoms associated with n-hexane exposure in workers.

대구지역 숙녀복업계 기업주가 요구하는 패션전문인 (The Fashion Professionals Required by the Ladies Apparel Manufacturers in Daegu)

  • This study performed a structural questionnaire survey and non-structural interview of the ladies apparel manufacturers in Daegu on the qualification for the employees, skills required for job performance, job training, automatic manufacturing systems, and the use of computer. The results are as follows. 1. Almost all of the apparel manufacturing systems were Pair System, except one Line System in one company. In terms of outsourcing, most of the manufacturers answered “yes,” and in 1998 the outsourcing process was sewing, but in the year 2002, outsourcing has been increased :12 manufacturers(57.1%) outsourcing most of the processes except patterning, 3(14.3%) outsourcing the finish of sewing. 2. The workforce of 1998 and that of 2002 shows a significant difference(P<. 01) between office work and management. The number of office workers has decreased from 15 down to 5.3 people. On the other hand, that of the management has slightly increased from 5.3 to 9.2 people. The number of the manual workers has decreased from 32.2 to 28.7 people. And the number of tailoring and patterning workers has slightly decreased, but the number has increased in sewing from 3.7 to 7.0 people. 3. The wage of an employee shows a significant difference between a sewing assistant(P<. 01) and a production manager(P<. 05), and the wage of a sewing assistant, in particular, has slightly raised from ₩905,000 to ₩1,054,000. 4. The qualifications required of employees are “cooperative human relations”(30.8%), “diligence,” and “ability for job analysis”(26.9%), and “positive thinking” (15.4%) in 1998, and “ability for job analysis”(38.5%), “cooperative human relations”(34.6%), and “positive thinking” (15.4%) in 2002. The areas for job openings are significantly different(P<. 01) depending on the year. Job openings in the design section has increased from 1(3.8%) to 16 manufacturers (61.5%), and decreased in tailoring section from 22(84.6%) to 2 manufacturers(7.7%). Job openings in the sewing section have increased form 2(7.7%) to 6 manufacturers (23.1%). In terms of sex of the employees, there is a significant difference(P<. 001). 19 companies(73.1%) wanted “male” in 1998, but 8 companies(30.8%) answered that they want “female” and 17 companies(65.4%) answered that “it does not matter.” About the educational background, there was a significant difference between the years. The number of the companies that want junior college graduates with an associate degree has increased(15 companies(57.7%). There was a significant difference(P<. 05) in major of the employee. The number of the companies that want fashion majors has increased from 5(19.2%) to 20(76.9%). 5. In terms of job skills required, there was no significant difference. In 1998, “production skills” (46.2%) and “ability for job analysis” (26.9%) were required, and in 2002, “ability for job analysis” (42.3%) and “emotional skills” (26.9%). 6. In regard to training for job skills, “fashion professional training” has slightly decreased from 65.4% in 1998 to 46.2% in 2002, however, “training for job analysis” has slightly increased from 30.8% in 1998 to 46.2% in 2002, which indicates the fact that “fashion professional training” and “ability for job analysis” have been emphasized. 7. The number of the manufacturers purchased apparel CAD has increased from 1(3.8%) to 3(11.5%), and the number of the manufacturers that have no plan for purchase has increased from 16(61.5%) in 1998 to 15(57.7%), still taking up a big proportion. 8. About the use of computers in manufacturing, there is a significant difference(P<. 05). The number of the manufacturers using computer has increased from 5(19.2%) to 15(57.7%) and that of the manufacturers which do not use computers has decreased from 17(57.7%) to 8(30.8%). 9. In the interviews with the owners of the manufacturers, they pointed that schools should give more weight on practical training courses, the invitation of experts in the specific field, complex production systems, training courses for sewing, field trip courses, and furthering specialty education, personality and vocational education.

일부 금속 및 기계제품 제조업체 근로자들의 산업재해($1980{\sim}1981$)에 관한 조사 (An Epidemiological Study on the Industrial Injuries among Metal Products Manufacturing Workers in Young-Dung-Po, Seoul)

  • 1980. 1. 1부터 1981. 12. 31까지 만 2년간 서울 영등포 지역의 12개 금속 및 기계제품 제조업체 근로자들의 산업재해의 특성을 조사하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 재해 발생율은 근로자 1000명당 45.7이며 남자 54.0, 여자 17.5로 남자에서 약 3배 이상 많이 발생하고 규모가 클수록 발생율이 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 2. 재해자들의 연령별 발생율은 19세 미만이 83.5로 제일 높고 $40{\sim}49$세가 가장 낮았다. 3. 근속 연수별 발생 분포는 1년 이하인 자가 48.1%로 근속연수가 짧을수록 재해빈도는 높았다. 4, 작업 개시 후 시간적 변동에 따른 발생율은 작업 개시 후 3시간이 6.0, 7시간이 6.1로 두 정점을 이루었다. 5. 요일별 재해 발생율은 월요일이 8.4(18.3%)로 가장 높았고 일요일이 가장 낮았다. 6. 월별 재해 발생율은 7월에 5.4(11.8%)로 가장 높았고 다음이 3월로 4.8(10.5%)였다. 계절별 발생율은 봄철에 13(28.4%)로 가장 높았다. 7. 재해원인별 발생빈도는 기계에 의한 것이 37.5%로 가장 높고, 다음이 기구없이 취급, 낙하물, 충돌에 의한 것이 각각 17.2%, 14.2% 및 10.2%를 차지하였다. 8. 상해 부위별 발생빈도는 상지부(上肢部)가 58.8% 하지부(下肢部)가 25.5%로 상하지(上下肢)가 전체의 84.3%였으며 이중 수지(手指)가 40.3%로 빈도가 제일 높았으며 좌우별 분포는 우측이 10%정도 많았다. 9. 상해 종류별 발생빈도는 열창 및 좌창이 34.0%로 가장 높았고 다음이 골절 및 탈구로 31.9%, 염좌 8.1%의 순이었다. 10. 요양 기간별 발생 분포는 2주에서 1개월이 54.4%로 가장 높았고 1개월 미만이 전체의 68.9%로 대부분이었으며 업체 규모가 클수록 치료기간이 연장되는 경향을 보였다. 11. 산재분 재해 대 비산재분 재해의 비율은 1:4.7이었다.리양상(解離樣相)은 거의 비슷하게 완만(緩慢)하였다. 4. 이상(以上)의 소견(所見)으로 미루어 볼 때 임신부(姙娠婦)의 CO 중독(中毒)은 산모(産母)보다 태아(胎兒)에서 더 큰 위해(危害)를 초래(招來)할 가능성(可能性)이 크며 또 HbF의 구성점유율(構成占有率)이 높은 6개월(個月) 이하(以下)의 영아에서도 그 위해도(危害度)가 클 것으로 간주(看做)된다. 따라서 임신부(姙娠婦) 또는 생후(生後) 6개월(個月) 이하(以下)의 영아가 CO 중독(中毒)되었을 때는 고압산소요법(高壓酸素療法)이 효과적(效果的)인 치료법(治療法)으로 보이며 그 치료시간(治療時間)을 성인환자(成人患者)에 있어서의 그것보다 좀 더 길게하는 것이 CO 중독(中毒)에 의한 위해(危害)를 감소(減少)시켜 줄 것으로 기대(期待) 된다. 있었다. 또한 공정 중 microwave와 autoclaving은 4가지 수산식품 낙지, 조기, 홍어, 새우의 allergenicity를 현저히 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 자외선은 단백질로 구성된 allergen의 구조는 크게 변화시키지 못하는 것으로 보여진 것을 알 수 있다. 그러므로 생선의 가공방법은 통조림 가공이나 microwave 처리가 allergenicity성을 감소시킬 수 있는 것으로 보여진다. 낙지, 조기, 홍어, 새우의 한외여과 fraction중 고분자인 100,000이상에서만 allergenicity가 나타났다. 따라서 이 allergen들의 분자량은 100,000 이상으로 추정되며 검색된 allergynicity 생선을 10,000∼100,000으로 한외여과 하였을 때 100,000 이상의 fraction에서만 PCA에 의해 allergenicity가 있는 것으로 인정되었다. 그러나 이 검색된 생선이 anaphylaxis가 인간에게서까지도 반응할지는 의문이다. 이 연구의 결과는 차후 임상실험환자에 의하여 최종 검증되어야 한다.일정한 관련성을 나타내지 않았다. 이상의 결과로

산업안전보건관리자 특성과 화학물질 유해성 정보전달의 관련성 (Association Between Communication for Chemical Hazards Information and Characteristics of Occupational Safety and Health manager)

  • Objectives: The aim of the present study was undertaken to investigate the association between communication for chemical hazard information and characteristics of occupational safety and health managers. Subjects and Methods: We surveyed 78 occupational safety and health managers(64 male and 14 female) in 78 chemical manufacturing plants. Data were obtained using a self-reported questionnaire about size and type of company, products, communication system for chemicals and work-related characteristics of occupational safety and health managers. All analyses in this study were performed using SPSS program 12.0. Results: 64.1% of the study participants were occupational health managers aged 39.3 years on average and were graduated from college and university around 90%. 30.0% and of them were majoring in chemistry (engineering chemistry), 18.0% occupational health, 16% nursing and 30.0% others. Occupational safety managers were aged 39.4 years on average, 42.9% of them were majoring in chemistry (engineering chemistry), 21.4% environmental engineering, 10.7% occupational safety and 25% others. 86% of occupational health managers and 71.4% of occupational safety managers were classified as office job. Over 94% of the hazards information for chemicals were delivered by occupational safety and health managers, but about 28.2% workers preferred outside experts who have a profound knowledge about occupational safety and health and understandable. Occupational safety and health managers and workers had difficulties in understanding toxicological information, hazards identification, stability/reactivity, composition/information on ingredients, physical/chemical properties and ecological information. On multiple logistic regression analysis for the 16 heading of material safety data sheet, content of material safety data sheet was significantly associated with education level (odds ratio=0.286, 95% confidence interval=0.105-0.780). The hazard identification (odds ratio=3.947, 95% confidence interval=1.092-14.271) and toxicological information (odds ratio=0.841, 95% confidence interval=0.705-0.998) were significantly associated with type of occupation. Conclusions: This finding implies that the education level, type of occupation and speciality of occupational safety and health managers may affects hazards information delivery.

성인 남성에서 흡연이 기도청력역치에 미치는 영향 (Effect of cigarette smoking on air-conduction hearing threshold level in adult men)

  • 흡연과 기도청력역치와의 연관성을 알아보기 위하여 1996년 1월 1일에서 1997년 7월 31일 사이에 종합 건강진단을 받기 위하여 내원한 성인 남성 1,887명을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 주파수대별 순음기도청력 검사, 이완기 혈압, 총콜레스테롤, 공복혈당, 혈구용적치 그리고 비만도를 검사하였다. 설문지를 이용하여 연령, 직업, 흡연상태를 조사하였다. 흡연군이 비흡연군에 비하여 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz 그리고 4000 Hz 주파수에서 기도청력역치가 유의하게 높았다(p<0.05). 저주파수영역 평균청력 중간주파수영역 평균청력, 고주파수영역 평균청력에서 흡연군이 유의하게 기도청력역치가 높았다(p<0.05). 다중회귀분석 결과, 흡연상태는 연령, 직업, 이완기 혈압, 공복혈당, 총콜레스테롤, 혈구용적치, 비만도의 영향을 조정 한 후에도 유의한 변수였으며(p<0.05), 연령이 많고, 생산직이고, 혈구용적치가 높고 비만할수록 유의한 청력저하가 관찰되었다(p<0.05). 그러나 이완기혈압, 총콜레스테롤 그리고 공복혈당은 청력저하와 유의한 관련성이 없었다. 이상의 결과를 볼 때, 흡연은 성인 남성의 청력저하와 연관성이 있었다.

산업장 근로자의 건강증진 프로그램 요구도 (Need Assessment for Worksite Health Promotion Program)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the kinds of health promotion program which workers want, worker's intention for participation, proper method, time, duration and manager. A self-administered questionnaire method was used to collect data from 412 employees of 3 worksites in Chungpook and Kyungkee. This survey was carried out from Aug. 10 to Aug. 20, 1998. The results of this study are as follows: 1. In male, among health promotion programs, favorite ones were physical fitness(32.2%), periodic health check-up(24.6%), and stress management(18.0%). In female, among health promotion programs, favorite ones were periodic health check-up(26.0%), physical fitness(22.0%), and body weight control(19.5%). 2. The more young subjects are, the more they like physical fitness program, and the female like body weight control program regardless of BMI. Manufacturing worker preferred back pain prevention program to clerical worker did. In female, drinker preferred stress management program to non-drinker did. 3. The more old subjects are, the more they like back pain prevention program, and non-smoker preferred body weight control program to smoker did. 4. In health promotion program format which the subjects wanted, learning of self-examination techniques was 41.1%, worksite screening was 3l.0%, availability of pamphlets and audiovisual materials was 20.0%, presentation of worksite educational sessions was 7.9%, and the most wanted manager for the program was medical doctor and then nurse, physical trainer, psychological counselor. The favorite health promotion program duration was less than 30 minutes(49.6%), and the favorite time was before work(49.6%). 5. Among respondents, 48.5% was smokers, 81.8% was drinkers, 39.9% engaged in the regular exercise, 68.2% engaged in regular diet habit. In vaccination, 50.2%, if possible, wanted to be vaccinated and 37.6% never wanted to be vaccinated. 6. Ex-smoker, ex-drinker, the subjects in the regular exercise, and in the regular diet habit responded they were in good health. There was a significant difference between exercise and health status. Need and intention for participation of health promotion program were high in ex-smoker, ex-drinker, the subjects in the regular exercise, and in the regular diet habit. According to results for this study, if the favorite programs, exercise, periodic health check-up, stress management program, are operated at a proper time and with managers they want, this programs can really raise the participation of employees. And as employees want to learn self-examination techniques if worksite educational sessions are performed, health promotion program can effectively be operated.

망간 노출 용접공의 인지수행에 따른 뇌 활성화 정도 분석 (Analysis on the Degree of Cerebral Activity According to Cognition Task in Welders Exposed to Manganese)

  • 본 연구는 만성적인 망간(Mn) 노출 결과로써 초래될 수 있는 영향을 기능적 신경영상기법의 하나인 fMRI(functional magnetic resonance imaging)를 이용하여 인지 활동에 따른 뇌 활성화 정도를 분석, 평가하고자 하였다. 조선소에서 10년 이상 용접 작업을 해왔고 현재도 용접 전담 업무를 하고 있는 34세 이상의 남성 15명을 노출군으로 하였고, 노출군과 연령, 사회·경제적 지위와 행동 패턴이 비슷하며 다른 위험한 금속성 물질에 노출되지 않은 제조업 사업장에서 용접 작업을 하지 않는 생산직 근로자 15명을 대조군으로 구성하여 설문조사와 혈액 검사, fMRI를 실시하였다. 그 결과 fMRI 대상자(29명)의 평균 혈중 Mn 농도는 노출군($1.3\;{\mu}g/dl$)이 대조군($0.8\;{\mu}g/dl$)보다 유의하게 증가하였고, Pallidal Index(PI)도 노출군이 대조군보다 유의하게 증가하였다(p < 0.001). MRI 상의 PI값은 혈중 Mn 농도가 $0.93\;{\mu}g/dl$ 이상인 군이 $0.93\;{\mu}g/dl$ 미만인 군보다 유의하게 증가하였다(p < 0.001). 산술 과제를 수행하는 동안 실험군의 각 문항에 대한 평균 응답 시간은 노출군(1.3 sec)이 대조군(1.1 sec)보다 유의하게 증가하였다. 또한, 문항 전체에 대한 평균 응답 시간도 대조군(54.7 sec)이 노출군(45.0 sec)보다 느리게 나타났으며, 통계학적으로도 유의미한 차이를 보였다(p < 0.001). 대조군의 뇌 활성화 영역은 후두피질의 좌 우측, 상 중간전두피질과 하두정피질(inferior parietal cortex)의 우측, 중간측두피질의 좌측 영역에서 유의하게 증가하였다. 노출군의 뇌 활성화 영역은 대조군의 활성화 영역과 비슷한 위치에서는 보다 넓고 높은 활성화 상태를 보였다. 노출군은 대조군의 활성화 영역에 추가하여 상 하 측두피질의 우측, 뇌섬엽의 좌측, 뇌교량과 측뇌실 영역에서 유의한 증가로 나타났다. 두 집단간 뇌 활성화 영역 비교를 위한 t-test에서 노출군은 중간측두피질 영역을 포함하여 우측 하측두피질, 좌측 상두정피질, 좌측 후두피질, 좌측 소뇌 등의 영역에서 대조군보다 유의하게 더 높은 증가를 나타냈다. 하지만 어떤 영역도 노출군보다 대조군에서 더 활성화된 영역은 없었다. 이상의 결과에서 만성적인 Mn 노출은 인지 과제 수행 중에 뇌 활성화를 증가시켰다. 동일한 과제에서도 상 하 측두피질, 뇌도 영역에서 활성화가 증가되었고, 노출군이 일반인보다 측두영역 및 후두영역에서 뇌 활성화 상태가 증가되었음을 알아냈다. 이상의 결과에서 살펴 볼 때 작업환경 내에서의 만성적인 Mn 노출이 뇌 활성화의 신경 네트워크에 영향을 미친다는 것이 확인되었다.
