김치의 저장 중 품질 유지를 위한 방안 개발 (A Method for Maintaining Good Kimchi Quality during Fermentation)

  • Colour and texture are the most difficult quality aspects of Kimchi to maintain during storage. Therefore, this study investigated how to maintain superior quality Kimchi during fermentation without changes in color and texture. By examining differences between samples covered with vinyl(A group) and not covered with vinyl(B group) and assessing pH, total acidity, total viable cell count, total lactic acid bacteria cell count and sensory characteristics. The results are indicated that pH, total acidity, total viable cell and total lactic acid bacteria were similar between group A and B. Group A showed higher sensory score for colour, taste, texture and acceptability than group B(p<0.001). Covering the Kimchi with vinyl appeared to have a similar effect as when Kimchi is kept in a Kimchi-pot under stones or the outer leaves of vegetables making it possible to maintain good color and texture during storage. In conclusion, even though, it is not practical to use Kimchi-pots within urban settings today, vinyl coverings may offer the same effects.

Good manufacturing practice of radiopharmaceuticals in Korea

  • Good manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulation for diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals was prepared at 2014. The mandatory GMP regulation becomes effective on $1^{st}$, July 2015,with two years of grace periods. Korean radiopharmaceuticals GMP regulation was consisted of quality management, personnel, premise and facility, documentation, production, quality control and self-audit and they have a very similar structure to European Union and PIC/S GMP regulation. Here, we describe detailed description of GMP regulation each part and application to radiopharmaceuticals production. And we also compare Korea, Japan and USA radiopharmaceuticals GMP regulation. GMP is a method to maintain quality of radiopharmaceuticals in daily production and it must be embedded on the manufacturing operation and management.

  • In this paper, we describe a powerful solution for efficient LED wall calibration through the use of a quality 2D-luminance meter : the MURATest and a dedicated applicative software. The intended calibration allows adjusting individually the intensity of each LED so as to obtain a good uniformity on the module. Furthermore the intensity of each module can be adjusted one to the others so as to obtain a good uniformity on a complete display and maintain it even after module exchange for display maintenance needs.

역공학에서의 노이즈가 포함된 측정데이터의 분할에 관한 연구 (Study on Segmentation of Measured Data with Noise in Reverse Engineeing)

  • The segmentation has been performed to the data of good quality in most cases, so the adoption of previous segmentation theory to the measured data with a laser scanner does not produce good result because of the characteristics of the data with noise component. A new approach to perform the segmentation on the scanned data is introduced to deal with problems during reverse engineering process. A triangular net is generated from measured point data, and the segmentation on it is classified as plane, smooth and rough segment. The segmentation result in each segment depends on the user-defined criteria. And the difference of the segmentation between the data of good quality and the data with noise is described and analyzed with several real models. The segment boundaries selected are used to maintain the characteristics of the parts during modeling process, thus they contribute to the automation of the reverse engineering.

  • The aim of the present study is to find a good quality user equilibrium assignments under time varying condition. For this purpose, this study introduces a dynamic network loading method that can maintain correct flow propagation as well as flow conservation, and it develops a novel solution algorithm that does not need evaluation of the objective function by modifying the Schittenhelm (1990)'s algorithm. This novel algorithm turns out to be efficient and convenient compared to the conventional Frank-Wolfe (1956) algorithm because the former finds solutions based on routes rather than links so that it can maintain correct flow propagation intrinsically in the time-varying network conditions. The application of dynamic user equilibrium (DUE) assignment model with this novel solution algorithm to test networks including medium-sized one shows that the present DUE assignment model gives rise to high quality discrete time solutions when we adopt the deterministic queuing model for a link performance function, and we associate flows and costs in a proper way.

  • Collection, evaluation and preservation of tropical forage grasses, napier grass breeding, tissue culture of pangola grass and alfalfa selection were conducted in Taiwan. The results showed that some species such as pangola grass (Digitaria decumbens) with good performance and wide adaptability were selected and released. Forage yield and quality of napier grass have been improved and have good results in animal performance. Embryogenic callus cultures from young inflorescences and stem segments of pangola grass could provide an alternative method for rapid propagation and improvement. Three better varieties of alfalfa were selected. They maintain satisfactory stands for two or three years on well-drained sand loam and loam soil, and used only as annual crop in flat area and acid soil. However, more studies in forage breeding for acid soil arc required to maximise the forage quality and animal production. Thus, animal fed with forages of high quality and a few grains supplement will be the future achivement in livestock industry.

The Impact of Communication on the Overall Quality of Life in Elderly Koreans

  • Background: Communication is important for the elderly to maintain existing social relationships while creating new relationships based on good communication skills to lessen psychological and emotional distress and lead a healthy life in advanced age. Aims: This study identifies the difference between the social network-based quality of communication life and the overall quality of life in the elderly and how much the quality of communication life affects the overall quality of life. Methods: This research includes a survey of the elderly aged 65 and over living in small cities of South Korea. Data sets of 201 elderly were analyzed. Results: This study found a significant correlation between the quality of communication life and the overall quality of life. Religion also influences the elderly's quality of communication life. The elderly's quality of communication life has 40% explanatory power of the overall quality of life. Conclusion: Consequently, senior citizens' quality of life will be improved through the enhanced quality of communication in addition to financial and health conditions by participating in various community activities similar to those provided by religion to increase opportunities for communication.

장기요양서비스의 질 개념 정립과 향상 방안 -현행 전략의 한계와 '좋은 돌봄'을 위한 현장의 목소리- (A Study on the Concept and Improvement Plan of Long-Term Care Service Quality -The Voice of Service Field for 'Good Care'-)

  • 이 논문은 장기요양서비스의 질 향상을 위하여 서비스 목표라 할 수 있는 '좋은 돌봄'의 개념을 정립하고 그 구성요소를 찾아내며, 좋은 돌봄을 산출할 수 있는 조건에 대해 탐색했다. 또한 서비스 질을 어떻게 측정하는 것이 바람직한가에 대해서도 모색하였다. 이를 위하여 정부가 채택하고 있는 질 확보전략을 비판적으로 평가하고, 돌봄의 근원적 속성을 탐구한 선행 문헌들을 검토하고 지난 5년간 서비스 제공 경험에서 축적된 서비스 현장의 지혜를 질적연구방법을 통해 담아내고자 하였다. 연구 결과, '좋은 돌봄'은 개개인의 총체적 삶의 질(total quality life)이 가능한 최대로 보장될 수 있도록 단순히 신체적 기능적 욕구 충족만이 아니라 진정한 관심이 결합되어야 한다. 좋은 돌봄을 위한 가장 중요한 조건은 '좋은 돌봄관계'를 형성하는 것이다. 돌봄제공자와 돌봄수급자 간 관계가 시장규범에 훼손되지 않고, 상호신뢰 및 존중과 진정한 소통으로 돌봄수급자 욕구를 중심에 둔 개별화된 서비스를 제공하여야 한다. 평가체계는 전면적인 상대평가보다는 시설서비스의 핵심적 질에 대하여는 기관규모별 절대기준 인증체계를 마련하고, 인증기준 이상 부분은 기관마다 자율적으로 특성화하는 것이 바람직하다. 방문 재가서비스 평가는 이용자 만족도, 돌봄종사자 만족도, 재가서비스기관의 사례관리체계 등이 평가내용으로 구성되는 것이 적절하다.

이동통신 음성 부화화기를 위한 선형 예측 계수(LPC)의 효율적 양자화 방법 (Efficient quantization of LPC parameters for vocoder of mobile communications)

  • In this paper, efficient quantization methods of line spectrum pairs (LSP) which has good performances and low complexity and memory are proosed for vocoder of mobile communication system. The adaptive quantization method utilizing the ordering property of LSP parameters is used in a scalar quantizer and a vector-scalar hybrid quantizer. The proposed scalar quantization algorithm needs 31 bits/frame to maintain the transparent quality of speech. The improved vector-scalar quantizer achieves an average spectral distortion of 1dB using 26 bits/frame. The proposed methods are evaluated in the channel errors and changed the predictor structure to maintain the robustness to channel errors.
