  • During the past decade, several specific hardwares for fast fuzzy inference have been developed. Most of them are dedicated to a specific inference method and thus cannot support other inference methods. In this paper, we present a hardware architecture called KAFA(KAist Fuzzy Accelerator) which provides various fuzzy inference methods and fuzzy set operators. The architecture has SIMD structure, which consists of two parts; system control/interface unit(Main Controller) and arithmetic units(FPEs). Using the parallel processing technology, the KAFA has the high performance for fuzzy information processing. The speed of the KAFA holds promise for the development of the new fuzzy application systems.

  • Arc Fault Current is an which occurrs in two opposite electrode. In this paper, arc current control algorithm is designed for the interruption of arc fault current which is occurred in the low voltage network. This arc is one of the main causes of electric fire. General arc current sensor has troubles for detecting arc currents, thus we would like to propose the arc current detection method without current sensor. In this parer, arc discharge currents within power lines are being detected through the arc current control algorithm.

  • A path planning is one of the main subjects in a mobile robot. It is divided into two parts. One is a global path planning and another is a local path planning. This paper, using the formal two methods, presents that the mobile robot moves to multi-targets with avoiding unknown obstacles. For the shortest time and the lowest cost, the mobile robot has to find a optimal path between targets. To find a optimal global path, we used GA(Genetic Algorithm) that has advantage of optimization. After finding the global path, the mobile robot has to move toward targets without a collision. FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) is used for local path planning. FLC decides where and how faster the mobile robot moves. The validity of the study that searches the shortest global path using GA in multi targets and moves to targets without a collision using FLC, is verified by simulations.

  • This paper is concerned with the active vibration control of flexible cantilever beam system using electromagnetic force actuator. The main objective of this paper is to propose the control algorithms and implement the experimental setups for active vibration control. Several control algorithms are proposed and implemented on the experimental setups to show their efficacy. These include a PID control design, an optimal $H_2$ control design, and a fuzzy PID control design. Effectiveness and performance of the designed controller were verified by both simulation and experiment results.

  • In this study, as the preliminary step for developing an unmanned vehicle to deliver a container-box, we designed and implemented Automatic Guided Vehicle(AGV) Simulator for the purpose of Port Facilities Automation. It is preferable to research the intelligent AGV for delivery all day long. For complementing AGV simulator driving, we used multiple-sensor systems with vision, ultrasonic, IR and adapted the high-speed wireless LAN that satisfies the IEEE 802.11 Standard for bi-directional communication between main processor in AGV and Host computer. Here, we mounted on bottom frame in AGV Pentium-III processor, which combine and compute the information from each sensor system and control the AGV driving, and used the 80C196KC micro-controller to control the actuating and steering motors.

  • In This paper describes on the development of detecting power using Microprocessor. The detecting power system is composed of main controller system and analyzing software. Re system detected voltage, current, temperature, leakage current md its saved in ROM. This system applies the 'AT89C52' to CPU and 'AM29F040B' used a memory to sue the data.

  • This paper presents neural load disturbance observer that used to deadbeat load torque observer and regulation of the compensation gain by parameter estimator. As a result, the response of PMSM follows that of the nominal plant. The load torque compensation method is compose of a neural deadbeat observer. To reduce of the noise effect, the post-filter, which is implemented by MA process, is proposed. The parameter compensator with RLSM (recursive least square method) parameter estimator is suggested to increase the performance of the load torque observer and main controller. The proposed estimator is combined with a high performance neural torque observer to resolve the problems. As a result, the proposed control system becomes a robust and precise system against the load torque and the parameter variation. A stability and usefulness, through the verified computer simulation, are shown in this paper.

  • This paper presents neural observer that used to deadbeat load torque observer. Most practical systems are nonlinear, and it is general practice to use linear models to simplify their analysis and design. However, the locally linearized model is invalid for a large signal change. The neural observer is suggested to increase the performance of the load torque observer and main controller The output error and estimeted state is trianed by neural network of neural observer. As a result, the state estimation error is minimised and deadbeat load torque observer make use of corrected esimation state. To reduce of the noise effect of deadbeat load torque observer, the post-filter which is implemented by MA process, is adopted. As a result, the proposed control system becomes a robust and precise system against the load torque. A stability and usefulness, through the verified computer simulation, are shown in this paper.

  • This paper proposes a new concept's IDSFHA(Intelligent Digital Switchgear For Home Automation) which can obtain the safety, the reliability and the easy to correspond to the request of the general electric customer or electric power company under the ubiquitous-based home automation environments The IDSFHA is designed by analyzing their requirement functions, a 32-bit micro processor is adopted as main controller to support efficiently the designed functions. The single phase power IC(ADE7753) is utilized to collect the electric power information, and makes it possible to communicate as internet among the IDSFHA and their using the ethernet convertor. In the proposed IDSFHA, the several functions are implemented such as the earth leakage level display and waveform transmitting, the electric power using fee display, voltage management, load management and load control function. Finally, the prototype of the IDSFHA is made experimently based on the designed results.
