  • We have studied magnetic and transport properties of NbN/FeN/Cu/FeN/FeMn spin-valve structure. In-plane magnetic moment exhibited typical hysteresis loops of spin valves in the normal state of NbN film at 20 K. On the other hand, the magnetic hysteresis loop in the superconducting state exhibited more complex behavior in which exchange bias provided by antiferrmagnetic FeMn layer to adjacent FeN layer was disturbed by superconductivity. Because of this, the ideal superconducting spin-valve effect was not detected. Instead the stray field originated from unsaturated magnetic states dominated the transport properties of NbN/FeN/Cu/FeN/FeMn multilayer.

  • A new Ruddlesden-Popper phase $NdSr_2MnCrO_7$ has been prepared by the standard ceramic method. The powder X-ray diffraction studies suggest that the phase crystallizes with tetragonal unit cell in the space group I4/mmm. The electrical transport properties show that the phase is an electrical insulator and the electrical conduction in the phase occurs by a 3D variable range hopping mechanism. The magnetic studies suggest that the ferromagnetic interactions are dominant.

  • These days, the quality of goods is required to improve in the process of manufacturing the semiconductor through the short working hours and clean transportation. The non-contact transport device using magnetic levitation can be a solution in the manufacturing process. The non-contact transport device, using electromagnetic actuation, is the system that can actually transport them by only using attraction force from the electromagnetic source without authentic contact. Moreover, the system using electromagnetic force has a substantial number of benefits ranging from unrestricted design to unlimited expansion. Especially, the price is competitive. The non-contact transport device, using electromagnetic force, has another merits in controlling by giving the same amount of attraction force to ferromagnetic body. By controlling the currents given to coil, the operator is able to decide the direction of the transportation. In order to design the optimal system, we implemented five different things such as the presence of the links below the electromagnetic, the electromagnet changes due to coupling method, the change according to the thickness of the links below electromagnet, due to changes in between electromagnetic distance direction, and the size of the current. Through simulations and the optimum design, it seems to control easily and figure out the exact size of power. It might definitely be the non-contact transport that can sharply reduce tiny scratches and particles in the process of manufacturing the semiconductor.

  • The effects of lattice strain on the magnetic and the transport properties of La$_{0.8}$Sr$_{0.2}$MnO$_3$films grown on a LaAlO$_3$ (001) substrate and on a La$_{0.8}$Sr$_{0.2}$MnO$_3$ layer have been studied. It was observed that the metal-insulator and the ferromagnetic transitions turn out to be at higher temperatures for the film deposited on La$_{0.8}$Sr$_{0.2}$MnO$_3$ layer with respect to that on LaAlO$_3$. The dependence of Curie temperature on the bulk and the Jahn-Teller strains has also been determined. determined.

  • This paper deals with hysteresis losses on the superconducting slap by using type II superconducting theory and classical maxwell equations. Transport current is transmitted to the longitudual direction and applied magnetic field is perpendicular to the slap length and simultaneously parallel to the plat. And the sinusoidal transport currents and the magnetic fields are applied to the slap. Properties of hysteresis loss can be understood, using computer simulation with apply field, transport current and phasor difference. From this result the efficiency and the stability of superconducting system can be enhanced.

  • In the semiconductor and the optical industry a new transport system which can replace the conventional sliding system is required. There systems are driven by magnetic field and conveyer belt. The magnetic field damages semiconductor and contact force scratches the optical lens. The ultrasonic wave driven system can solve these problem. In this paper, the object transport system using the excitation of ultrasonic wave is proposed. The experiments for finding the optimal excitation frequency, finding phase-difference between two ultrasonic wave generators are performed. The relationship of transporting speed according to the change of flexural beam shape is verified and the system performance for practical use is evaluated.

To propose the design technique and the execution manual of the high efficiency dredging material transport technic, this research have confirmed flow status changing depending on a soil material kind under electro-magnetic field and analyze the effect of electro-magnetic field which affects to each dredged soil material transportation. For achieving this research, EMF(Electro-Magnetic Field) generator is installed on the dredger(20,000HP) and through monitored flow status, dredging soil flow rate and sampled material specification is confirmed. Also dredger operating condition is measured and dredger power for soil transportation, hydraulic gradient and flow rate are compared, as transportation efficiency is calculated by this parameter, it is possible to check transportation efficiency improvement depending on each dredged soil material under electro-magnetic field. To verify the technique of dredged soil transfer using electromagnetic field, which is the core technique of the high efficiency dredged soil transfer, and the technique of expert system for pipeline transfer and the flow state. This could lead to a verification of transfer efficiency according to the characteristics of the dredged soil (sand, clay, silt) and the transfer distance (5km, 10km, 15km), which is planned to be used for a technology development of pump power reduction and long-distance transfer applying the high efficiency dredged soil transfer technology.

  • In this study, we investigated the optical, magnetic, and electrical transport properties of $Si_{1-x}Mn_x$ (0.1 < x < 0.9) single crystals grown by the vertical Bridgman method. The alloys with a Mn concentration of up to 64% demonstrated weak ferromagnetic ordering around $T_C=30\;K$. The $Si_{0.25}Mn_{0.75}$ and $Si_{0.18}Mn_{0.82}$ alloys showed weak ferromagnetic ordering at 70 K and antiferromagnetic ordering at 104 K, as confirmed by magnetization, neutron diffraction, and transport studies.

  • The heat in Czochralski method is transfered by all transport mechanisms such as convection, conduction and radiation and convection is caused by the temperature difference in the molden pool, the rotations of crystal or crucible and the difference of surface tension. This study delvelops the simulation model of Czochralski growth by using the finite difference method with fixed grids combined with new latent heat treatment model. The radiative heat transfer occured in the surfce of the system is treated by calculating the view factors among surface elements. The model shows that the flow is turbulent, therefore, turbulent modeling must be used to simulate the transport phenomena in the real system applied to 8" Si single crystal growth process. The effects of a cusp magnetic field imposed on the Czochralski silicon melt are studied by numerical analysis. The cusp magnetic field reduces the natural and forced convection due to the rotation of crystal and crucible very effectively. It is shown that the oxygen concentration distribution on the melt/crystal interface is sensitively controlled by the change of the magnetic field intensity. This provides an interesting way to tune the desired O concentration in the crystal during the crystal growing.
