  • In this paper, the semi active mount featuring Magneto rheological fluid(MR Fluid) is proposed. MR fluid is suspension of micro sized magnetizable particles in a fluid medium, and its apparent viscosity can be varied by the applied strength of magnetic field. When the controllable MR fluid is applied to mechanical devices, the devices provide simple, rapid response interfaces between electronic controls and mechanical systems. The MR fluid is applied in the conventional fluid mount for improving its performance of the mount's isolation effect. A appropriate size of the MR mount is designed and manufactured on the basis of Bingham model of MR fluid. In addition, the field dependent damping forces of MR mount are evaluated with respect to the input frequency variation.

  • This paper deals with an application of Magneto-Rheological (MR) fluid to a small size mount for precision equipment of automobiles. MR fluid is known as a class of functional fluids with controllable apparent viscosity of fluid by the applied magnetic field strength. A typical MR fluid is a suspension where pure iron particles of $1{\sim}20mm$ in diameter are dispersed in a liquid such as mineral oil or silicone oil, at the concentration of $20{\sim}40$ vol%. Electro magnetic coil is installed at the bottom of a variable-damping mount filled with MR fluid, and its performance was investigated experimentally. Furthermore, the properties of the MR Mount on experimental Study were explained analytically by mechanical model of the MR mount.

  • To cope with stringent performance targets requested in many fields spanning the whole range of industry, the driver is necessary to realize large dynamic range as well as nano resolution, manipulate the mover orientation without additional driver, and be suitable for clean environment. As one of those purposes, authors have developed the planar precision stages with the integrated operating principle of levitation and propel. In this paper, we discuss potential of magnetic suspension technology by comparing various features of non-contact planar stages, that is, repulsive type of surface actuator and attractive type of surface actuator.

  • This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of a Si Hall sensor fabricated on a SOI (Si-on-insulator) structure. The SOI structure was formed by SDB(Si-wafer direct bonding) technology and the insulator of the SOI structure was used as the dielectrical isolation layer of a Hall sensor. The Hall voltage and sensitivity of the implemented SDB SOI Hall sensors showed good linearity with respect to the applied magnetic flux density and supplied current. The product sensitivity of the SDB SOI Hall sensor was average 600V/A.T and its value has been increased up to 3 times compared to that of bulk Si with buried layer of 10.mu.m. Moreover, this sensor can be used at high-temperature, high-radiation and in corrosive environments.

  • This paper present ZVS Half-Bridge converter Using IM(Integrated Magnetics). In converter system, magnetic components are important devices used for energy storage, energy transfer, galvanic isolation and filtering. The purposes of IM(Integrated Magnetics) are to reduce the number of magnetic components and voltage/current ripple. This topology is use of three magnetics components thus increasing the cost and size of the system. A prototype featuring 300V input, 15V output, 400kHz switching frequency, and 150W output power.

  • We studied the effects of Pt and Cr addition in a new Co-Cr-P-Pt alloy system with the coercivity higher than 2000 Oe even when they were deposited without substrate heating and bias voltage. The coercivity of the films increased from 1000 to 2000 Oe or higher by addition of 12 at.%Pt. The variation of the anisotropy field with increasing Pt content was similar to that of the coercivity. This indicate that the increase of the coercivity might be associated with increase of the anisotropy field with Pt addition. With the addition of Cr, the coercivity of the films increased up to 8 at.%Cr and the coercive squareness of the films decreased. The angular variation of coercivity deviated at a lower angle from domain wall motion mode as the Cr content increases. From these result, it is believed that the grain isolation of the films is enhanced with the addition of Cr.

  • All plants in natural ecosystems are living in symbiosis with endophytes. Recently, there has been an increasing interest in endophytes since these organisms can interact with the hosts and produce various structurally or biologically interesting molecules. This study aimed to identify these molecules from endophytes. Chemical investigation of Climacium dendroides-derived fungus Talaromyces sp. resulted in the isolation of two diphenyl ether derivatives, purpactin A (1) and penicillide (2), and two steroids, dankasterone A (3) and calvasterol B (4). The structures of the compounds were identified via extensive spectroscopic and spectrometric methods. Four compounds did not show any antioxidative activities in the on-line antioxidant activity screening system.

  • In this study, it was sampling from heavy metal-contaminated soil with the waste in railroad workshop. And, the pollution concentration and analysis of particle-size distribution were conducted to design efficient purification process that it was aimed at high contaminated area, low contaminated area and samples containing waste foundry sand. But, it was the other signs of general soil contamination, as construction waste of waste concrete and waste wood, waste foundry sand, incinerator ash, etc is overall buried on the grounds. Thus, the common heavy metal purification technology has not decreased the pollution. However, heavy-metal contamination was reduced by magnetic separation utilizing the magnetic component of the mixed waste.
