헬리콘 플라즈마의 전기적 특성 (Electrical Characteristics of Helicon Wave plasmas)

  • The external electricla characteristics of helicon wave plasmas were measured over a wide range of RF power and magnetic filed. External parameters. such as antenna voltage , current, phase shift, and interanl parameter, electron density were measured at 7MHz, 1mTorr Ar discharge . The equivalent discharge resistance and reactance, and the power transfer efficiency were calculated through these measurements. There are a helicon mode which produces high density plasma by helicon wave and a lowmode which produces low density plasma by capaictive electric field. In case of the helicon mode, the anternna voltage and current were lower than those of the low-mode. The phase difference between voltage and current decreased suddenly at the transition point from the low-mode to the helicon mode. Equivalent resistance and power efficiency increased and reactance decreased suddenly at the transition point. These results mean that the power transperred to plasma and the nutual coupling between the antenna and plasma increase as the mode changes from the low-mode to the helicon mode.

고온초전도 적층선재의 특성과 적층선재로 제작한 팬케이크 권선 손실 (Characteristics of the HTS Stacked Tapes and AC Losses of the Multi-Stacked Pancake Coil)

  • According to the improvement of the HTS wires performance, several tapes of HTS superconducting machines are being developed. Stacked HTS tapes are used as conductor that can flow high current for the HTS power machines. To develop the HTS power machines, the critical current characteristics of a stacked HTS tapes in external filed and AC losses should be examined. In this paper, we present characteristic of the stacked HTS tapes and AC losses of HTS pancake windings with stacked tapes. AC loss of the pancake winding were measured and compared with the calculated loss by using AC loss data of the stacked samples and the magnetic flux density in the HTS winding under operating conditions. We can see that measured results generally agree well with the calculated results by using AC loss data of 4-stacked sample.

  • In this paper deal with Initial Pole Position Estimation for Interior Permanent Magnet Motor. Generally, Brushless motor is considered Initial Pole Position with absolute encoder or resolver, etc. In the motor, the flux from the magnets is large enough to saturate the stator iron, results in different inductance values along the pole position. Based upon the relationship between magnitude of inductance and the resultant magnetic filed, initial pole position is estimated at standstill without position sensors, especially, this paper provide the direction of the magnetization. Finally, analysis results are presented to confirm ability of initial pole position estimation.

A Variational Model For Longitudinal Brain Tissue Segmentation

  • Longitudinal quantification of brain changes due to development, aging or disease plays an important role in the filed of personalized-medicine applications. However, due to the temporal variability in shape and different imaging equipment and parameters, estimating anatomical changes in longitudinal studies is significantly challenging. In this paper, a longitudinal Magnetic Resonance(MR) brain image segmentation algorithm proposed by combining intensity information and anisotropic smoothness term which contain a spatial smoothness constraint and longitudinal consistent constraint into a variational framework. The minimization of the proposed energy functional is strictly and effectively derived from a fast optimization algorithm. A large number of experimental results show that the proposed method can guarantee segmentation accuracy and longitudinal consistency in both simulated and real longitudinal MR brain images for analysis of anatomical changes over time.

  • High temperature superconductor (HTS) coated conductors has high hysteretic magnetization loss which is an obstacle for the AC applications of coated conductors. We propose a method to reduce the magnetization loss of the coated conductor. It is the mechanical striation method by load variety using office knife. The magnetization loss measured in the mechanical striated YBCO coated conductor without copper layer was compared with the loss generated by perpendicularly exposed external magnetic filed. The reduction in magnetization loss due to the mechanical striation is clearly shown at higher field and was dependent on the striation number. The mechanical striation method was proven to have additional advantages of a low cost and high fabrication process.

고 자장에서 Dynamic Susceptibility Contrast 효과에 관한 연구 : Gradient EPI와 Spin-EPI기법의 비교 (A Study on Dynamic Susceptibility-weighted Perfusion MR Imaging at High Magnetic Filed : Comparison of Gradient Echo-EPI and Spin Echo-EPI)

  • We have evaluated and compared of gradient echo and spin echo EPI for compensating about deeply distortion aspect in case of post-operation patients in magnetic resonance image. A total of 100 patients were performed on 3.0 T(GE Signa Excite E2, USA) with 8ch head coil. As a result of analysis, The SNRs of whiter and gray matter areas were 36.74 $\pm$ 06 and 39.96 $\pm$ 09 in the gradient echo EPI, the SNRs which white and gray matter areas were slightly higher than gradient echo EPI(P<0.005, paired student t-test). It was 46.24 $\pm$ 11 and 51.38 $\pm$ 13 in gradient and spin echo EPI, respectively. The signal intensity in the whiter and gray matter areas also were 87.33 $\pm$ 15.24 and 140.66 $\pm$ 13.45 in the gradient echo EPI techniques, The signal intensity of gradient echo EPI showed higher values compared to spin echo EPI. Otherwise, gradient echo EPI technique is distortion enough to operation wound and edge of the image, while spin echo EPI technique did not appear almost. In this point, the spin echo EPI technique, after surgical operation according to patient state beside gradient echo EPI techniques that signalbeside gradient echo EPI techniques that signal intensity is high and patient's case which image distortion is serious by metal etc, will be provide the useful information in adults and pediatric patients.

전자기장을 이용하여 강섬유를 원주방향으로 배열시킨 원통형 몰탈의 Double Punch 인장강도 (Double Punch Tensile Strength of Cylindrical Mortar with Steel Fibers aligned in Circumferential Direction by Electro-Magnetic Field)

  • 본 연구에서는 전자기장을 이용하여 일반몰탈과 스틸슬래그 몰탈 내부에 혼입되는 강섬유의 방향을 원주방향으로 배열시켰으며, 성능변화를 확인하기 위하여 Double Punch 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과, 전자기장을 이용하여 강섬유를 원주방향으로 배열하는 것이 가능한 것으로 확인되었다. 전자기장 노출로 인한 강섬유의 배열조정에 따라 인장강도와 파괴 시 변형도 유의미한 증가를 보였다. 반면 파괴에너지는 거의 증가하지 않았다. 전자기장이 영향을 미쳐 강섬유의 배열이 조정되는 구간이 크지 않은 문제와 사용한 강섬유가 직선으로 되어 있어 균열성장을 억제하는데 한계가 있었던 것으로 판단된다. 이와 같은 문제를 보완한 추가연구가 필요하다.

  • RFe$_2$(R=rare earth) Laves상 금속간 화할물은 $10^{-3}$ 정도의 큰 포화 자왜 정수를 나타내고 있어, 자왜 재료의 응용 분야에서 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 그러나, 이 금속간 화합물은 결정 자기 이방성 에너지가 크기 때문에, 큰 포화 자왜 정수를 얻기 위해서는 높은 외부 자장이 요구되어진다. 이에 따라 저자장에서 보다 높은 자왜 정수를 얻고자 하는 연구들이 행하여 지고 있는데, 이를 위한 방법은 RFe$_2$Laves상 금속간 화합물중 결정 자기 이방성 부호가 각기 다른 회토류 금속의 치환 혹은 RFe$_2$금속간 화합물의 비정질화이다. 본 연구에서는 RFe$_2$금속간 화합물의 자기 이방성 에너지를 최소화하여 저자장에서 높은 자왜 정수를 얻기 위해, 결정 자기 이방성 정수 및 자왜 정수의 부호가 각각 반대인 SmFe$_2$와 PrFe$_2$을 합금화 한후, 비정질화하여 자왜 정수의 변화를 포함한 자성을 조사하였다.

Diurnal and Seasonal Variations in Mid-Latitude Geomagnetic Field During International Quiet Days: BOH Magnetometer

  • Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute researchers have installed and operated magnetometers at Bohyunsan Observatory to measure the Earth's magnetic field variations in South Korea. In 2007, we installed a fluxgate magnetometer (RFP-523C) to measure H, D, and Z components of the geomagnetic field. In addition, in 2009, we installed a Overhauser proton sensor to measure the absolute total magnetic field F and a three-axis magneto-impedance sensor for spectrum analysis. Currently three types of magnetometer data have been accumulated. In this paper, we use the H, D, Z components of fluxgate magnetometer data to investigate the characteristics of mid-latitude geomagnetic field variation. To remove the temporary changes in Earth's geomagnetic filed by space weather, we use the international quiet days' data only. In other words, we performed a superposed epoch analysis using five days per each month during 2008-2011. We find that daily variations of H, D, and Z shows similar tendency compared to previous results using all days. That is, H, D, Z all three components' quiet intervals terminate near the sunrise and shows maximum 2-3 hours after the culmination and the quiet interval start from near the sunset. Seasonal variations show similar dependences to the Sun. As it becomes hot season, the geomagnetic field variation's amplitude becomes large and the quiet interval becomes shortened. It is well-known that these variations are effects of Sq current system in the Earth's atmosphere. We confirm that the typical mid-latitude geomagnetic field variations due to the Sq current system by excluding all possible association with the space weather.

공기 중에서 자기장 열처리된 CoFeSiB 비정질 리본에서의 자기 바이어스 효과 (Magnetic Bias Effects in Field-annealed CoFeSiB Amorphous Ribbons)

  • 비대칭 거대 자기임피던스 효과를 보이는 자기장 열처리된 CoFeSiB 비정질 리본에서 자기 바이어스 현상을 MOKE 방법을 이용하여 연구하였다. 열처리 과정에서 리본의 양 표면에 형성된 경자성 결정층이 내부 연자성 비정질 상의 자화특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 열처리 후 화학적 에칭에 의해 한쪽 및 양쪽 표면의 결정층을 깎아낸 시편들을 준비하고 각 시편에 대해 비정질 상의 자화곡선을 MOKE 방법으로 측정하였다. 열처리 과정에서 표면에 형성된 경자성층이 내부의 비정질 연자성 상에 바이어스 자기장을 작용하고 있다는 것과 바이어스 자기장의 방향이 경자성층의 자화방향에 반대 방향임을 자기이력곡선의 이동을 통해 확인하였다.
