The aim of this study was to analyze the slope stability relating to the failure of cut slopes and the characteristics of stress-strain relations obtained by limit equilibrium method, finite element method, and stereographic projection method for the reinforced cut slopes. The following conclusions were made : 1.To use stereographic projection method led to little possibility to take the toppling and wedge failure while to use the other methods led to the failure. It was recommended to reduce the slope inclination from 1:1 to 1: 1.5~1 :1.8 and adopt coir mesh method to protect the slope surface. position with the horizontal displacement after final excavation moved to the excavation base. The maximum shear strain values concentrated at the excavation base indicated the possibility to induce the local failure. 3. It was recommended that the slope inclination for blast rock with the slope height larger than l0m was 1: 0.5, 1:1, and 1: 1~1 :1.5 for hard rocks, soft and ordinary rocks, and ripping and soils, respectively. 4. Berm width criteria for blast rock with the slope height larger than l0m were recommended as follow : 2~3m per 20m slope height for hard rocks, 1 ~2m per l0m slope height for soft and ordinary rocks, 1 ~ l.5m per 5m slope height for ripping and soils.
The effects of varing concentrations of extracellular potassium on the positive inotropic actions of Aconiti tuber butanol fraction and ouabain were studied on isolated left atrium of rat. The patterns of active tension increment, such as time to peak and total duration of tension development, was contrasted in Aconiti tuber butanol fraction to ouabain. Ouabain did not induce significant shortening in time to peak and total duration of tension development, but Aconiti tuber produce significant shortening. The isometric tension and peak dF/dt were not significantly different at the range of extracellular potassium concentration $2mEq{\sim}10mEq$ per. liter in control studies. The ouabain-induced increase in active tension and peak dF/dt at 2mEq. per. liter potassium concentration was significantly different from that of 6mEq or 10mEq. per. liter, but there was no difference between 6mEq and 10mEq. per. liter. but Aconiti tuber is not. In contrast to ouabain, Aconiti tuber butanol fraction did not show potassium dependent positive inotropic effect. It produced almost same increment of tension and peak dF/dt at all the concentration of extracellular potassium concentrations in this experiment.
Objectives: The purpose of this experiment is to understand the phosphorus removal ratio effects of iron plates per unit of surface area through the iron electrolysis system, which consists of an anoxic basin, aerobic basin, and iron precipitation apparatus. Methods: Iron electrolysis, which uses an iron precipitation reactor in anoxic and oxic basins, consisted of iron plates with total areas of 400 $cm^2$, 300 $cm^2$ and 200 $cm^2$ respectively. The FNR process was operated with a hydraulic retention time and a sludge retention time of 12 hours and three days, respectively. Wastewater used in the experiments was prepared by dissolving $KH_2PO_4$ in influent water. Results: The iron plates 400 $cm^2$ (16.6 $mA/cm^2$), 300 $cm^2$ (13.3 $mA/cm^2$) and 200 $cm^2$ (7.3 $mA/cm^2$) in surface area in the phosphorus reactor had respective phosphorus of 2.4 mg/l, 2.7 mg/l and 3.2 mg/l in the effluent and phosphorus removal respective efficiencies of 90.3%, 89.1% and 87.1%. The effluent in the reactor, where the iron plate was not used, had relatively very low phosphorus removal efficiency showing phosphorus concentration of 15.3 mg/l and a phosphorus removal efficiency about 38.3%. Phosphorus removal per ferrous was 0.472 mgP/mgFe in the iron electrolysis system where the surface area of iron was low. Phosphorus pollution load per active surface area and the phosphorus removal efficiency had an interrelation of RE = -0.27LS + 89.0 (r = 0.85). Conclusion: With larger iron plate surface area, the elution of iron concentration and phosphorus removal efficiency was higher. The removal efficiency of phosphorus has decreased by increasing the initial phosphate concentration in the iron electrodes. This shows a tendency of decreasing phosphorus removal efficiency because of decreasing of iron deposition as the phosphorus pollution load per active surface area increases.

This study was carried out in order to estimate water losses in irrigation canals, which may be used to evaluate the water requirement for irrigation projects. The conveyance losses were measured by the inflow-outflow method, the seepage losses were measured by the ponding method, and the operation losses in the course of irrigation were calculated by comparing the two kinds of losses. The results obtained in this experiment were as follows; 1. Conveyance losses per unit area of wetted perimeter by the main irrigation canal, the secondary irrigation canal and the tributary irrigation canal, were 1.399${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$, 5.154${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$, and 2.67${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$ respectively in the Goong-sa area. And they were 1.934${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$, 2.149${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$, and 4.558${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$ respectively in the Seong-dug area. 2. Seepage losses per unit area of wetted perimeter by the secondary irrigation canal and the tributary irrigation canal, were 2.180${\times}10^{-6}m^3/sec/m^2$ and 2.168${\times}10^{-6}m^3/sec/m^2$ in the Goong-sa area, 1.150${\times}10^{-6}m^3/sec/m^2$ and 1.084${\times}10^{-6}m^3/sec/m^2$ in the Seong-dug area respectively. 3. Operation losses per unit area of wetted perimeter by the secondary irrigation canal and the tributary irrigation canal, were 4.936${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$ and 2.453${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$ in the Goong-sa area, 2.034${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$ and 4.450${\times}10^{-5}m^3/sec/m^2$ in the Seong-dug area respectively. 4. Conveyance, seepage and operation losses in the Goong-sa area were 6.7%, 94.6%, and 14.0% more than those in the Seong-dug area. Operation losses amount to about 17 times as much as seepage losses in the Goong-sa area and about 29 times in the Seong-dug area. 5. The seepage losses depend much on the soil texture, ranging from 7.437${\times}10^{-7}m^3/sec/m^2$ to 2.430${\times}10^{-6}m^3/sec/m^2$. 6. Water loss rates in the main irrigatin canal, the secondary irrigation canal and the tributary irrigation canal, were estimated as 8.49%, 37.27% and 9.81% respectively in the Goong-sa area. And they were estimated as 15.10%, 32.67% and 13.78% respectively in the Seong-dug area.
The late-maturing black rice cultivar Shinnongheugchal from Jeollabuk-do Agricultural Research and Extension Service was used as the plant material for estimating growth characters, quality and yield from the vegetation period to harvest age. This study was performed to select an optimum combination of nitrogen level and planting density for the maximum yield of Shinnongheugchal. The plant height, number of tillers, and SPAD index were higher when the combination of 70 hills per $3.3m^2$ and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level was used at 30 days after transplanting. The heading date for the combination of 70 hills per $3.3m^2$ and 15 kg/10 a nitrogen level, and 80 hills per $3.3m^2$ and 15 kg/10 a nitrogen level was August 22. The heading date for the other combinations was August 21. The combination of 70 hills per $3.3m^2$ and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level yielded the highest number of tillers at 40 days after flowering. Even though the lodging index was increased with increasing nitrogen levels, field lodging did not occur until harvest time. Seed nitrogen concentration in the combination of 70 hills per $3.3m^2$ and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level showed a significant difference when compared with the other combinations. The black rice yield varied significantly, and the highest yield was observed in the combination of 70 hills per $3.3m^2$ and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level. The yield was significantly correlated with seed nitrogen concentration. The maximum yield was estimated to be 14.67 kg/10 a nitrogen level by using the regression equation. On average, the coloring degree of the black rice was higher at planting density of 70 hills per $3.3m^2$ than at 80 hills per $3.3m^2$. The highest yield of perfect black rice was obtained using the combination of 70 hills per $3.3m^2$ and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level. Our findings demonstrate that a nitrogen level of 13-14 kg/10 a can be used to obtain the maximum yield from Shinnongheugchal with yield, cyanidin 3-glucoside content, and perfect black rice yield as the standard.
To determine the optimum N rate m Jeju island for utricle and root production of Achyranthes japonica Nakai, a medicinal plant, the plants were grown at two plant densities $(50\;and\;100\;hills/m^2$, two plants per hill; mall plots) at six N application rates (0, 6, 12, 18, 24, and 30 kg/10a; split plots) in 2001. There was no significant interaction between plant density and N application rate for all measured agronomic characters. Main root length and roots per hill were 5 and 52% greater, respectively, but N content of stover was lower under lower plant density compared to higher plant density. The other characters were not affected by plant density. N application rate did not significantly affect mall stem diameter, spikes per hill, spike length, utricles per spike, mall root length and diameter, and utricle N content. As N rate increased from 0 to 30 kg/10a, SPAD values and stover N content increased linearly from 35.0 to 40.5 and 1.09 to 1.38%, respectively, and plant height, branches per hill, stover, utricle and root dry matter yields, roots per hill, and top N yield increased quadratically. Spikes per hill were increased in a cubic manner with increased N application rates. N application rate for the maximum dry matter yield of utricle and root in A. japonica was estimated to be 21 kg N/10a.
The use of petroleum fuels in grain drying causes problems of high cost and management. To solve these problems, it is required to study on soLar energy as an alternative to petroleum fuels for grain drying. The purposes of this study were to find out the optimum received area and air flow rate of a flat-plate solar air collector for grain drying and to assess its effects on grain drying with a small grain bin. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1. The calculated optimum tilt angles of the collector in the summer and autumn drying seasons were 20 and 50 degress, respectively, in suwon area. 2. The outlet temperature of the collector was $36^\circ C$ on the daily average with the maximum of $36^\circ C$ at 12:00 o clock. Solar radiation on the collector surface was 1.04 ly( 1 langley = 1 cal/$cm^2$) per minute on the daily average and 1.30 ly per minute on the maximum at 11:00am. The thermal efficiency of the collector was 62.4 percent on the daily average, and the air flow-rate per unit receiving are was 1.03 $m^3$/min/$m^2$.4. The calculated optimum receiving area and the air flow-rate per unit cubic volume for paddy in autumn drying season was 2 $m^2$ and 2$m^3$/min , respectively. 5. not significantly difference in the collector efficiency was appeared between the rotating and fixed type of solar collector. 6. For drying of wheat with 0.6 meter of the depth in the bin, approximately 9 hours were required to reduce the moisture content from 21.6% to 13% with air follow rate of 5 $m^3$/min an initial moisture per cubic meter of wheat and with air temperature of $52^\circ C$. 7. In the drying test of rough rice with a turning operation in a grain bin approximately 21 hours were required to reduced the moisture from 21% to 14.5% with airflow rate of 2 $m^3$/min per cubic meter of rice and the air temperature of $43.5^\circ C$. 8. Over-drying at the bottom and less -drying at the top of the grain mass was resulted from the high -temperature of drying air which was obtained from the flat-plate solar collector in this test. An appropriate operation should be prepared for the uniform moisture of the grain in the bin.

In this study, biochemical methane potential test was conducted to estimate ultimate methane and carbon dioxide yield for anaerobic digestion and pretreatment with sewage sludge cake. Two of 0.2 % TS of sewage sludge cakes were treated with 5M NaOH or sonication of 0.51 W/mL during 30 min respectively. Another sample was treated simultaneously with NaOH and sonication in same condition. Then, initial soluble COD increased from 33.1 mg/L to 494 mg/L. After BMP test, methane production ranged from 3.12 and 84.2 mL $CH_4$ per g of Volatile Solid (VS) and 9.2 and 13.5 mL $CO_2$ per g of Volatile Solid (VS) for carbon dioxide. In other tests, injection of nutrient media or sludge supernatant produced 73.1 and 73.8 mL $CH_4$ per g of Volatile Solid (VS) and 11.2 and 13.6 mL $CO_2$ per g of Volatile Solid (VS) respectively. When BMP test finished, 62 % of initial volatile solids decreased to 33.8~45.4 %. Simultaneous pretreatment increased soluble COD, reduction rate of volatile solids and digestion efficiency than those for alkaline and ultrasonic pretreatment.
In the culture of Vinyl mulching and Non mulching, growth, yield, and cotton hair's growth are studied at the different planting density to get a basic material for cotton culture and high yield bumper crop in the region of the South. And the results are following. Vinyl mulching is the best one at the strength, the number of boll bearing branches, the num-ber of bolls, the number of bolls per $m^2$ and all the other characters. Vinyl mulching and Non mulching have the greatest number of bolls per $m^2$ at the planting density of 70${\times}$10cm. Vinyl mulching has the highest seed cotton yield and the highest seed cotton yield per boll. Especially when planted at the density of 70${\times}$l0cm, Vinyl mulching and Non mulching have the highest seed cotton yield. Vinyl mulching's value is accepted in fiber length and lint percentage, the wider spacing in the row is, the longer fiber length is.
