  • In this paper, the new M/T method for motor speed detection is proposed. This method can be able to reduce the dead time compared with it when Ohmae's M/T method is implemented. And the comparsion of the dead time length between the Ohmae's method and the proposed method is analyzed quantitatively. Actually we implemented the new proposed M/T method using the hardware and software and verified the effectiveness of the proposed M/T method.

자연수 m의 일반화된 배수 판정법 (Generalized Divisibility Rule of Natural Number m)

  • n/m=qm+r에서 에서 m=7인 단순한 경우에도 주어진 수 n이 m의 배수 판정법은 간단하지가 않다. 만약, m이 두 자리 수 이상이 되면 더욱 복잡해진다. 일반적인 배수 판정법으로 둔켈스 (Dunkels)법이 있지만 n이 컴퓨터로 처리하지 못하는 매우 큰 자리수인 경우 이 방법도 처리할 수 없다. 본 논문은 n과 m의 자리수와 무관하게 n(modm)=0 여부로 n이 m의 배수인지 여부를 검증하는 간단하면서도 정확한 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 $n=n_1n_2n_3{\cdots}n_k$, $m=m_1m_2{\cdots}m_l$에 대해 $r_1=n_1n_2{\cdots}n_l(mod m)$으로 설정하고, $r_i=r_{i-1}{\times}10+n_i(mod m)$, $i=2,3,{\cdots},k-1+1$로 n의 자리수를 1자리씩 감소시키는 방법을 적용하였다. 제안된 방법을 다양한 n,m 데이터에 적용한 결과 쉽고, 빠르며 정확한 몫과 나머지 값을 구할 수 있음을 보였다.

Differentiation of four Mycobacterium Species using DNA-DNA Hybridization Method using Specific Probes

  • DNA-DNA hybridization method with four oligonucleotide-specific probes was used simultaneously for differentiation and identification of four Mycobacterium species (Mycobacterium tuberculosis, M. avium, M. intracellulare, and M. kansasii). This DNA-DNA hybridization method with 4 oligonucleotide-specific probes, which targets in the rpoB region of 4 Mycobacteria species, respectively, was tested on 322 clinical isolates. Using DNA-DNA hybridization method, we detected M. tuberculosis (282 strains), M. avim (7 strains), M. intracellulare (9 strains), and M. kansasii (3 strain) from 322 clinical isolates. This result was compared with conventional biochemical test and rpoB DNA sequence analysis of this clinical isolates. We confirmed identification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, M. avium, M. intracellulare, and M. kansasii with high sensitivity (100 %) and specificity (100 %). This DNA-DNA hybridization method could be performed within 4 hours at least. Therefore, we suggest that DNA- DNA hybridization method using 4 rpoB DNA probes of Mycobacteria could be used for accurate, rapid, convenient detection and identification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, M. avium, M. intracellulare, and M. kansasii in clinical samples.

유양돌기 방사선검사 시 조사야 사용법에 따른 영상의 유용성 평가 (Evaluation of the Usefulness of Images according to the Use of the Field Size in Mastoid Process Radiography)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of images and to quantitatively measure and analyze the dose of scattered ray to the organs, which were highly sensitive to radiation according to the use of cylinder cone in mastoid process radiography. When the cylinder cone was not used, the SID was 100cm and the field size was 24 × 36 cm(864 cm2). When using the cylinder cone which was a circle, the SID was 70 cm, the radius was 10.5 cm and field size was 86.59 cm2. As a result of the study, SNR of the image quality evaluation was measured to be 2.58 for Law method and 3.90 for Stenver's method when not using cylinder cone, and 2.87 for Law method and 14.67 for Stenver's method when using cylinder cone. CNR was measured to be 0.03 for Law method and 0.04 for Stenver's method when cylinder cone was not used, and 0.04 for Law method and 0.05 for Stenver's method when using cylinder cone. When the cylinder cone was not used, the scattered ray dose was measured to be 0.10 mGy in the right eyeball, 0.30 mGy in the left eyeball, 2.02 mGy in the parotid gland, and 0.29 mGy in the thyroid gland for Law method and to be 0.03 mGy in the right eyeball, 0.12 mGy in the left eyeball, 1.43 mGy in the parotid gland, and 0.09 mGy in the thyroid gland for Stenver's method. When the cylinder cone was used, the scattered ray dose was measured to be 0.05 mGy in the right eyeball, 0.03 mGy in the left eyeball and the parotid and thyroid gland were below the measurable values for Law method and all areas were below the measurable values for Stenver's method. This was found to be statistically significant(p<0.000).

Comparison of Fusion Methods for Generating 250m MODIS Image

  • The MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor has 36 bands at 250m, 500m, 1km spatial resolution. However, 500m or 1km MODIS data exhibits a few limitations when low resolution data is applied at small areas that possess complex land cover types. In this study, we produce seven 250m spectral bands by fusing two MODIS 250m bands into five 500m bands. In order to recommend the best fusion method by which one acquires MODIS data, we compare seven fusion methods including the Brovey transform, principle components algorithm (PCA) fusion method, the Gram-Schmidt fusion method, the least mean and variance matching method, the least square fusion method, the discrete wavelet fusion method, and the wavelet-PCA fusion method. Results of the above fusion methods are compared using various evaluation indicators such as correlation, relative difference of mean, relative variation, deviation index, peak signal-to-noise ratio index and universal image quality index, as well as visual interpretation method. Among various fusion methods, the local mean and variance matching method provides the best fusion result for the visual interpretation and the evaluation indicators. The fusion algorithm of 250m MODIS data may be used to effectively improve the accuracy of various MODIS land products.

식품내의 미생물 분리를 위한 dryfilm 방법의 평가연구

  • Dryfilm method by using 3M Petrifilm$^{TM}$ has been examined to replace conventional agar method for isolation of microorganisms from foods. The objectives of the present study were to evaluate suitability of dryfilm method as a microbial isolation method and to determine the effect of antimicrobial agent on dryfilm for isolation of microorganisms from foods. Five different foods, milk, ground beef, fishery surimi, Takju and wheat flour were used to isolate the natural microflora in foods and the inoculated Escheri chia coli. Standard method agar (SMA, Difco) and Petrifilm$^{TM}$ aerobic count (PAC, 3M) were used to isolate total microorganisms from foods. Violet red bile agar (VRBA), brilliant green lactose bile (BGLB) broth and Petrifilm$^{TM}$ coliform count (PCC, 3M) were used to isolate coliforms from foods. E. coli broth (EC broth) and Petrifilm$^{TM}$ E. coli count (PEC, 3M) were used to isolate E. coli from foods. Acidified potato dextrose agar (APDA) and Petrifilm$^{TM}$ yeast & mold count (PYMC, 3M) were used to isolate yeasts and molds from foods. Total aerobic plate counts isolated from five different foods by SMA and PAC (3M) were riot significantly different each other at P<0.05 level and were highly correlated each other ($\geq$0.96). Mugwort extract as an antimicrobial agent did not affect microbial enumeratiion of Dryfilm. Significantly higher number of coliform colonies were formed on VRBA than PCC (3M) from ground beef, but they were not significantly different in coliform colonies from milk samples. PCC (3M) and BGLB were not significantly different for enumeration of coliforms in milk and beef samples. Significantly higher number of E. coli were isolated by EC broth than PEC from ground beef, but these were not significontly different for enumeration of E. coli from milk. Yeast and mold counts isolated from Takju and wheat flour by APDA and PYMC (3M) were not significantly different at P<0.05 level. These data indicate that dryfilm method by using 3M Petrifilm$^{TM}$ can be successively used as an alternative to conventional agar method for enumeration of microorganisms in various foods.

  • In this paper, we study the convergence of relaxed two-stage multisplitting method using M-splittings or SOR multi splitting as inner splittings and an outer splitting for solving a linear system whose coefficient matrix is an M-matrix. We also provide numerical experiments for the convergence of the relaxed two-stage multisplitting method.

Evaluating internal exposure due to intake of 131I at a nuclear medicine centre of Dhaka using bioassay methods

  • Handling of radioisotopes may cause external and internal contamination to occupational workers while using radiation for medical purposes. This research aims to monitor the internal hazard of occupational workers who handle 131I. Two methods are used: in vivo or direct method and in vitro or indirect method. The in vivo or direct method was performed by assessing thyroid intake with a thyroid uptake monitoring machine. The in vitro or indirect method was performed by assessing urine samples with the help of a gamma-ray spectroscopy practice using a High-Purity Germanium (HPGe) Detector. In this study, fifty-nine thyroid counts and fifty-nine urine samples were collected from seven occupational workers who were in charge of 131I at the National Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (NINMAS), Dhaka. The result showed that the average annual effective dose of seven workforces from thyroid counts were 0.0208 mSv/y, 0.0180 mSv/y, 0.0135 mSv/y, 0.0169 m Sv/y, 0.0072 mSv/y, 0.0181 mSv/y, 0.0164 mSv/y and in urine samples 0.0832 mSv/y, 0.0770 mSv/y, 0.0732 mSv/y, 0.0693 mSv/y, 0.0715 mSv/y, 0.0662 mSv/y, 0.0708 mSv/y.The total annual effective dose (in vivo and in vitro method) was found among seven workers in average 0.1039 mSv/y, 0.0950 mSv/y, 0.0868 mSv/y, 0.0862 mSv/y, 0.0787 mSv/y, 0.0843 mSv/y, 0.0872 mSv/y. Following the rules of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), the annual limit of effective dose for occupational exposure is 20 mSv per year and the finding values from this research work are lesser than this safety boundary.

분자 비컨을 이용한 살아 있는 세포에서 단일클론항체 경쇄와 중쇄 mRNA 검출에 의한 세포주 선별방법 (Live Cell Detection of Monoclonal Antibody Light and Heavy Chain mRNAs using Molecular Beacons)

  • Developing the method for the selection of animal cell line producing therapeutic monoclonal antibody (mAb) is invaluable as its market is rapidly growing. Although the quality of produced mAb is as important as quantity, however there is no method developed for the selective screening of cell lines on the basis of both quantity and quality. From recent reports, the ratio of light and heavy chain mRNAs of mAb in the cell is a key parameter for the indication of product quality. Therefore, it is obvious that developing the novel method that can detect both light and heavy chain mRNAs in single live cell will provide unprecedented opportunities in bio-industry. Here, we have constructed oligonucleotide probes, molecular beacons for the detection of light or heavy chain mRNAs, respectively, in the live cells producing mAbs. Both beacons showed increased fluorescent intensity after transient transfection of plasmid expressing mAbs analyzed by fluorometer. Flow cytometric analysis clearly demonstrated that both molecular beacons can simultaneously detect the expression of light and heavy chain mRNAs of mAb in the same cell. The technique described in the thesis provides the new direction and concept for developing the method for the smart selection of cell lines producing recombinant proteins including therapeutic mAbs.

M-AND, M-OR, NOT 연산을 이용한 다치 논리 함수의 간단화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Minimization of Multiple-Valued Logic Funcitons using M-AND, M-OR, NOT Operators)

  • 본 논문에서는 Lukasiewicz가 제시한 M-AND, M-OR, 보07연산을 기본으로 하는 다치(MultipleValued)논리 함수의 간단화 방법을 제 시 하였다. 먼저 간단화를 행하기 위해서는 Cube를 나열하는 방법에 의해서 그 결과가 틀리기 때문에 가장 효과적인 인접항을 찾는 방법은 간단화에서 무엇보다도 중요하다. 이 방법에 의하여 진리표에 주어진 2변수 다치논리함수를 분해하고 이함수로부터 적항수의 개수를 비교하였다 본 논문의 방법에 의하면 기존방법[3]에 비해 동일한 함수를 실현시키는데 소자수 및 코스트가 상당히 감소됨 이 밝혀졌다.
