Application of a Brake Pressure Restriction Valve to a Motorcylce ABS (제동압력 제한밸브의 모터싸이클 ABS에의 적용)

  • This paper presents an of a brake pressure restriction valve to a motorcycle anti-lock brake system(ABS). In the conventional anti-lock brake system of automobiles, slip ratio as a control variable is actively controlled, which requires wheel speed sensors, ECU, and a pressure modulator. In the ABS valve that has been developed for use in motorcycles, however, the brake pressure that is close to the wheel locking pressure is preset by simple exercises and then the valve just allows to pass the wheel locking pressure and cutoff the remaining pressure. Simulation studies with a single wheel braking dynamics and lumped chassis model show that the pressure restriction valve has basic ABS functions as well as some robustness properties for the uncertain load and road conditions as well as various initial braking speeds. Field tests also show that the pressure restriction valve avoids the wheel locking effectively.

Simulation-based Parametric Study of the Current Collection System of High Speed Trains (시뮬레이션에 의한 고속전철용 집전시스템 매개변수 연구)

  • In an electric traction system in which power is supplied from a catenary via a pantograph, the mechanical design of the catenary and pantograph is clearly of importance in relation to the problem of current collection at high speed. A computer-simulation technique is used to study the effects of changing parameters of pantograph and catenary on the quality of current collection at high speed. The current collection system is evaluated on the basis of the contact-force variations and displacement responses of the pantograph and contact wire. This study shows that current-collection quality is determined primarily by the overhead line parameters rather than by the pantograph. The results can be applied to optimize the design of current-collection systems.

Stiffness and Strength of Composite Beams in Steel Building Structures Under Lateral Loading (횡하중을 받는 철골구조물에서 합성보의 강성과 강도)

  • The behavior of composite beams in steel building structures subjected to lateral loading is studied. Mathematical models for the stiffness of composite beams and the strength at the connections, which are dependent on details of the connections are developed based on the previous experimental results and the results from numerical analyses. Analytical models for the skeleton and hysteresis curves of cantilever composite beams are also presented. A single component model for the composite beam, consisting of elastic beam and the end springs at which all the inelstic deformations within a member are lumped, is implemented into the computer program, DRAIN-2D. And a comparison of analytical results is made with the experimental results.

  • Most bridges have expansion joints to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction without inducing large forces in the bridges. To evaluate the effects of earthquake-induced at expansion joints of concrete bridges, the first part of this paper deals with a collinear impact between concrete segments, which have the same cross section but different lengths. Especially, impact force, momentum, strain energy and kinetic energy are formulated in mathematically. These results are then used in the second part of this paper to simulate a realistic yet simple analysis of seismic pounding in concrete bridges. Analysis of seismic pounding in idealized concrete bridges is carried out by using a simple lumped-mass model and rationally determined values of the coefficient of restitution and the duration of impact.

  • The mathematical model of the gear reductioner which consists which consists of the geared rotor-bearing system containing case is developed, assuming as the lumped parameter system. Constraints for vibration suppresion as well as strength of gear teeth, and shaft and kinematic conditions in gear pairs are considered. To find the design parameters satisfing the proposed constraints, a direct search method modified by the technique of Taguchi's experimental scheduling is used. One and two stepped gear reductioners are designed so that the criticl speeds due to the gear transmission error are moved out of the operating speed range.

  • This paper presents the simulation results for the analysis of a lightning surge, switching transients and very fast transients within a thermal plant. The modeling of gas insulated substations (GIS) makes use of electrical equivalent circuits that are composed of lumped elements and distributed parameter lines. The system model also includes some generators, transformers, and low voltage circuits such as 24V DC rectifiers and control circuits. This paper shows the simulation results, via EMTP (Electro-Magnetic Transients Program), for three overvoltage types, such as transient overvoltages, switching transients, very fast transients and a lightning surge.

  • The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate for the design and the fabrication of suspended spiral inductors using the micromachining technology. Also. the characteristics of spiral inductors with substrate lossless are simulated by lumped-element model. The absence of the lossy silicon substrate after micormachining results in significantly improved quality factor characteristics of 14. Micromachined spiral inductors have the improvement of a quality factor of about 60% than spiral inductors on silicon which is not micromachined.

  • 기후변화에 의해 집중호우의 빈도 및 강도가 증가하고 지속적인 유역개발에 따른 토지이용의 증가는 토양침식 및 토사유출로 인한 재해 및 환경문제를 야기한다. 현재 광범위하게 사용되고 있는 토양침식량 산정기법은 대부분 대상유역내의 평균 토양침식량을 산출하는 총량적 개념의 경험식이므로 호우기간동안의 유역 침식/퇴적의 시 공간적 변화양상을 모의할 수 없다는 한계를 지니고 있다. 따라서 보다 합리적인 유역규모의 강우-유사-유출 메카니즘 해석을 위해서는 집중형(lumped) 모의기법을 대체하고 다양한 기상학적/지형학적 디지털 정보를 활용할 수 있는 물리적 기반의 분포형 모형이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 사면의 지표 및 지표하 흐름을 고려한 유출모의 모듈과 단위수류력(Unit Stream Power)이론을 기반으로 유사유출 모의모듈을 결합한 분포형 강우-유사-유출 모형을 개발하고, 용담댐 상류부의 천천유역에 적용하여 개발된 모형의 재현성 평가를 수행하였다.

  • This Paper Presents the optimized design of micro-heaters using 501(Si-on-insulator) substrate and oxide-filled trench structure In order to justify a lumped model approximation and thermal boundary assumptions, two-dimensional FDM(finite difference among which conduction is the dominant heat dissipation path. Compared with no-trenchs on the SOI structure, the micro-heaters with trench structures has properties of low heater loss and good thermal isolation. The simulation results show that the heater loss decreases as the number. width and distance of trenchs increases.

  • This paper describes the calculation of the equivalent circuit parameters and the characteristic analysis of a capacitor-run type single-phase induction motor by means of the finite element method in coupled with the conventional equivalent circuit model. The circuit parameters of the stator are calculated form the lumped parameter and the slot leakage reactance of the rotor with the closed slot can be obtained by the use of slot pitch boundary condition. From the analysis result this combined equivalent circuit and finite element method which is used slot pitch boundary condition is compared with the experimental results, the validity of the method is proved.
