Comparitive Analysis of Distributed model and Lumped model on Flood Flow Forecast (홍수유출예측에 있어서 분포모형과 집중모형의 비교분석)

  • 본 연구에서는 홍수유출예측을 위해서 국제수문계획(IHP) 대표시험유역인 위천유역을 대상으로 집중모형인 HMS모형의 SCS단위도법과 분포모형인 TOPMODEL을 이용하여 홍수유출을 비교분석한 결과 TOPMODEL이 현실에 더욱 적합하였다. TOPMODEL의 매개변수는 물리적 의미를 가지고 있으며, 유천유역의 14개 호우사상으로부터 추정한 매개변수로 다른 5개 호우사상에 적용한 결과 홍수사상을 비교적 정확히 모의한 것으로 봐서 국내 홍수예경보모델의 일부로 사용될 때 그 역할을 훌륭히 수행할 수 있다고 판단된다.

Pallet speed control in a sintering plant using neural networks (신경회로망을 이용한 소결기 팰릿 속도 제어)

  • Sintering transforms powdered ore into lumped ore so that the latter can be used in a blast furnace. The powdered or combined with coke and other materials is loaded into a container and moved along by a pallet while the ignited coke burns. The speed by which the pallet moves determines how much sintering takes place. Since the process is complicated and lacks an accurate mathematical model, human operators manually control the speed by monitoring various factors in the plant. In this paper, we propose a neural network-based pallet speed controller which copies human operator knowledge. Actual process data were collected from a sintering plant for eight months and preprocessed to remove noisy and inconsistent data. A multilayer perceptron was trained using a back-propagation learning algorithm. In on-line testing at the sinter plant, the proposed model reliably controlled pallet speed during normal operation without the help of human operators. Moreover, the quality and productivity was as good as with human operators.

  • In Gas Insulated Substation(GIS), Very Fast Transient Overvoltages(VFTOs) are generated by the switching operation of disconnector or circuit breaker and it is propagated to each component of GIS. Each component of GIS is modeled by lumped line model and distributed line model based on equivalent circuits. The various cases which can be operated and the various closing point-on-wave are considered. In this paper, magnitude and rate-of-rise of VFTO are simulated and analyzed by comparing the simulation results. Measurements are performed at transformer and circuit breaker.

The Effects of Design Parameters on the Friction Characteristics in the Valve Train System

  • This paper is a report on the parametric study of the friction characteristics on the direct acting type OHC valve train system. The numerical simulation was performed by using the IV-TAP. Dynamic analysis by using the lumped mass method was previously performed to define the acting load. The friction characteristics were analyzed by using the partial asperity contact model. The effects of operating conditions and major design parameters on the total driving torque were investigated. From the analytical prediction, it is found that valve spring stillness, surface roughness, and base circle radius are the main factors to reduce the frictional loss on the valve train system.

  • In order to understand the flow and filtration characteristics in a wall-flow type DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter), 0-D, 1-D, and 3-D simulations are preformed. In this paper, three model are explained and validated with each other. Based on the comparisons with 1-D and 3-D results for the steady state solution, 3-D CFD analysis is preferable to 1-D for the prediction of wall velocity at the inlet and exit plane. Because PM loading process is transient state phenomena, the combination of full 3-D and time dependent simulation is crucial for the configuration of wall channels.   • 하천의 유출은 매우 다양하고 복잡한 형태를 나타내므로 홍수조절 등 수자원의 효율적인 활용을 위해서는 강우-유출과정에 대한 정확한 해석과 정도 높은 유출량 산정이 필요하다. 이 연구의 목적은 한국수자원공사에서 다목적댐의 홍수분석에 사용하고 있는 집중형 모형(Kwater 홍수분석모형)과 분포형 모형(KIMSTORM 모형)의 비교분석을 통해 두가지 모형의 문제점과 향후 적용성을 연구하는데 있다. 본 연구의 공간적 범위는 남한에서 산지가 많고 다우지역에 속하는 남강의 상류 지역인 남강다목적댐 유역($2,285km^2$)를 대상으로 하였으며, 시간적인 범위는 남한에 많은 홍수피해를 발생시킨 주요 태풍(2002년 루사, 2003년의 매미, 2006년 에위니아)을 대상으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 분포형 모형이 집중형 모형에 비해 더 정확한 강우-유출 현상 모의가 가능한 것으로 분석되었으며, 향후 분포형 모형의 적용성 확대를 위해서는 다른 유역에 대하여도 연구 검토가 필요가 있는 것으로 판단된다.

  • A thermo-elastic system in the production machine has highly nonlinear dynamic characteristics. In general, the finite element method is utilized for accurate analysis. However, it requires large computing time. Thus, thermo-elastic systems are usuallymodeled as electric and fluid system using lumped para,eter. In this paper. we propose the bondgraph model and transient simulation methodology of thermo-elastic system in consideration of various boundary and joint contact conditions. Consequently, the proposed method ensures a possibility of its on-line compensation about undesirable phenomena by using real time estimate process and electronic cooling device for thermal appropriate behavior. Thermo-elastic model consisting of bush and shaft including contact condition is presented.

A Study on the Correlation of Vehicle Propeller Shaft and Axle Vibration (차량 추진축과 엑슬 진동의 상관성에 관한 연구)

  • Propeller shaft is one of the main excitation source in the vehicle driveline. This paper presents the correlation of the propeller shaft and axle vibration. 10 D.O.F. lumped mass model is constructed to simulate the dirveline. Experimental apparatus is constructed to verify the simulation model and to measure the vibration signal of lthe driveline. The results of simulation and experiments show that propeller shaft excitation is 2nd harmonic of the rotational frequency. Axle housing vibration signal shows that axle resonate with 2nd harmonic of excitation frequency due to universal joint effect.

Robust Controller Design for the Nuclear Reactor Power Control System

  • The robust controller for the nuclear reactor power control system is designed. The nuclear reactor is modeled by use of the point kinetics equations and the singly lumped energy balance equations, Since the model is not exact, the controller which can make the actual system robust is necessary. The perturbed plant is investigated by employing the uncertainties of the initial power level and the physical properties, and by introducing the delay into the modeled plant The overall system is configured into the two port model and the H$\infty$ controller is designed. In designing the H$\infty$ controller, two factors of the loop shaping and the permissible magnitude of control input are taken into account The designed controller provides the sufficient margins for the robustness, and the transients of the system output power and the control input satisfy their associated requirement.

  • Nowadays optical disc drives have become necessary. As the equipment is popular to use, competition of price and rotating rate have been harder and harder. Shock response analysis for the optical disk drives is rarely studied. In this paper the optical disk drive has 5-DOF system and each motion is presented by using Lagrange Equation. As the motion of the Pick up lens is important to read and write data, it needs to consider the pickup and disk. The lumped parameter model is compared with finite element model in order to make sure of the result. Results of the shock response analysis from various shock inputs are gotten.
