In winter, low outdoor temperature can casue reduction of concrete strength. Therefore, thermal protection is required when curing concrete in winter to maintain a certain level or higher surface temperature. Accordingly, in domestic construction sites, a curing method in which surrounds casting areas by tents and operates hot air blowers are widely applied. However, local low-temperature areas may occur due to airtightness of the curing tents. If additional heat is supplied to prevent occurrence of local low-temperature areas, energy consumption increases. Therefore in this study, a plan for improvement method of concrete curing was considered and the performance was evaluated through numerical analysis. A plan to improve the airtightness of the wall opening was applied, but the analysis showed that if only a part of the curing area is shielded, the temperature of the unshielded area decreases, making it inappropriate to improve curing performance.

Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with ammonia was carried out over the physical mixture of $MnO_2$ and K or Cu-loaded activated carbons (AC) at low temperature. Introduction of oxygen affected positively the reduction of NO. Metal-impregnated AC showed significantly enhanced catalytic activity. Without water, the mixed catalyst of $MnO_2$ and K-loaded AC exhibited the best activity in the reduction of NO at $120^{\circ}C$. On the contrary, the activities of all the catalysts were significantly diminished in the presence of water. The mixed catalyst of $MnO_2$ and Cu-loaded AC treated with nitric acid and heat (1 : 1, w/w) exhibited the better activity for the reduction of NO than each single catalyst in presence of water.

In recent large-scale structures, as mass concrete type structure is frequently applied to the building, temperature crack due to hydration heat needs to be considered. Since a volume change is internally or externally restricted in a mold after placing concrete, temperature crack of mass concrete takes place. By this reason, the reduction method to control this crack is required. In this study, low heat mixture and hydration heat difference is used to execute the analysis of hydration heat, considering the changes of heat transfer coefficient according to curing conditions and block placement of mass concrete. For the analytical modelling, original portland cement and concrete of low heat mixture are placed in the upper and lower payer, respectively. A convection boundary condition is fixed because mass concrete of block placement is characterized by the difference of mold form and curing condition. Through the analysis results considering the changes of low heat mixture, block placement, and heat transfer coefficient, we check out the temperature and stress distribution and analyze the temperature crack reduction effect.
10 wt% Mn supported on various commercial $TiO_2$ catalysts were prepared by wet-impregnation method for the low temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with $NH_3$. A combination of various physico-chemical techniques such as BET, XRD, XPS and TPR were used to characterize these catalysts. MnOx surface densities on MnOx/$TiO_2$ catalyst were related to surface area. As MnOx surface density lowered with high dispersion, the SCR activity for low temperature was increased and the reduction temperature ($MnO_2$${\rightarrow}$$Mn_2O_3$) of surface MnOx was lower. For a high SCR, MnOx could be supported on a high surface area of $TiO_2$ and should be existed a high dispersion of non-crystalline species.
This study was carried out to determine the effectiveness of uniconazole in ameliorating low and high temperature injury in tomato plants(Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cvs. Fireball and Patio). Plants were given a soil drench of 0, 0.001, 0.01 or $0.1mg{\cdot}pot^{-1}$ uniconazole, and after 14 days, were treated with 12-h day/12-h night cycles at $25/25^{\circ}C$, $2.5/25^{\circ}C$, $25/2.5^{\circ}C$ or $40/40^{\circ}C$ for 4 days in controlled-environment chamber. Number of damaged leaves per plant, reduction of stem elongation, and overall injury were high at $2.5/25^{\circ}C$, but more reduction of leaf elongation, delay of flowering, and abortion of floral bud were observed in plants at $40/40^{\circ}C$. There was difference in degree of injury between cultivars, thus, 'Fireball' was much affected by unfavorable temperature regimes. All concentrations of uniconazole reduced leaf and stem elongation, increased total chlorophyll concentration, delayed flowering, and significantly provided protection against low and high temperature injury in two cultivars. In general, the application of uniconazole did not inhibit flowering delay and floral bud abortion induced by high and low temperature exposure. Our results support the hypothesis that the role of uniconazole is related to defense system against oxidative stress induced by low temperature stress. Further research is required to clarifu the phytoprotective mechanism of this compound agaist high temperature stress.
Nowadays, urea SCR technology is considered as the most effective NOx reduction technology of diesel engine. However, low NOx conversion efficiency under low temperature conditions is one of its problems to be solved. This is because injection of UWS (Urea Water Solution) is impossible under such a low temperature condition due to the problem of insufficient of urea decomposition and urea deposits. In several previous studies, it has been reported that appropriate control of the amount of ammonia adsorbed on SCR catalyst can improve the NOx conversion efficiency under low temperature conditions. In this study, we tried to find out how much the NOx conversion efficiency increases with respect to the amount of ammonia adsorbed on the catalyst, and what the temperature conditions that the ammonia slip occurs. This study shows the results of 8 times repeated WHTC test with a diesel engine, in which UWS was injected with NH3/NOx mole ratio of '1'. Through this study, it was found that 13% of the NOx conversion efficiency of WHTC increased while the θ (ammonia adsorption rate) increased from "0%" to "22%". In addition, it is found that in cases of high θ value, the significant improvement of NOx conversion efficiency at low temperatures presented during the beginning period of WHTC and at high temperature and transient conditions presented during last part of WHTC test. The NH3 slip occurring condition was 250℃ of catalyst temperature and 10% of θ, and the amount of NH3 slip increased as the temperature and θ are increased.
By varying various experimental conditions such as heating rate, molar hourly space velocity (MHSV), and nitridation reaction temperature, vanadium oxynitride was prepared through temperature programmed reduction/nitridation reaction (TPRN) of vanadium pentoxide and ammonia, and characterization were performed. In order to investigate the physico-chemical properties of the prepared catalyst, N2 adsorption-desorption analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), hydrogen temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR), temperature programmed oxidation (TPO), ammonia temperature programmed desorption (NH3-TPD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was performed. Transformation of V2O5 with 5 m2 g-1 low specific surface area by reduction at 340 ℃ to V2O3 showed a high specific surface area value of 115 m2 g-1 by micropore formation. As the nitridation temperature increased beyond that, the specific surface area continued to decrease due to sintering. The nitridation reaction variable that had the greatest influence on the specific surface area was the reaction temperature, and the x + y value of VNxOy of a single phase approached from 1.5 to 1.0 as the nitridation reaction temperature increased. At a high reaction temperature of 680 ℃, the cubic lattice constant a was VN. close to the value. At 680 ℃, the highest nitridation temperature among the experimental conditions, the ammonia conversion rate was 93%, and no deactivation was observed.
Attempts were made to investigate the conditions of mycelia of one low-temperature type strain and one high-temperature type strain of shiitake showing poor fruit-body formation in bed-log, and to survey harmful microorganisms formed on the log surface in Gapyung County, Korea. When tested the growing ability of mycelia, the low-temperature type strain showed ca. 1.1% decrease compared with preserved original strain. And, the high-temperature type one showed ca. 8.0% decrease. The growth of isolated mycelia was tested in sawdust medium. The high-temperature type strain showed ca. 10.8% decrease compared with original strain, and the low-temperature type one showed ca. 25.1% decrease. Weight reduction rate was investigated. The high-temperature strain showed ca. 20.1% decrease and the low-temperature one ca. 19.0%. When compared with non-treatment, original high-temperature type strain showed 107.0% decrease, the isolated high-temperature type strain 49.5%, original low-temperature type one 85.4%, isolated low-temperature type one 50.0%. As the results of confrontation culture, the high-temperature type strain and the low-temperature type one were same as the original ones, respectively. And, in the bed-logs, Hypoxylon truncatum, Coriolus versicolor, Inonotus xeranticus, Daedaleopsis tricolor, Graphostroma platystoma, two species of Myxomycetes, Trichoderma sp. Hypoxylon fragiforme, H. howeianum, and Nitschkia confertula were observed as harmful microorganisms, and the bed-logs were not in good condition.

To meet the NOx limit without a penalty of fuel consumption, urea SCR system is currently regarded as promising NOx reduction technology for diesel engines. SCR system has to achieve maximal NOx conversion in combination with minimal $NH_3$ slip. In this study, as a basic research to develop an algorithm for urea injection control, the characteristics of engine out NOx emission and behavior of NOx reduction during steady-state and transient conditions were investigated using 2L DI diesel engine. Test results show that on increasing the catalyst temperature the variations in the outlet NOx concentration are faster and maximal allowable $NH_3$ storage exponentially decreases. For change from a low to high engine load, it can be seen that a few seconds after load-step is required to reach full NOx conversion and the adsorbed amount of $NH_3$ at lower temperature desorb during the next temperature increase, causing $NH_3$ slip. Engine out NOx emission needs to be corrected because NOx emissions just after step load is lower than that of steay state condition.
The combustion purpose of diesel engine is to reduce the emission of green gas and to produce high output. Generally, the regulation matter of emission gas is largely diveded by 'THC', 'NOx', 'CO' and 'PM'. Among those matters, the most problem is to disgorge into 'PM', the character of diesel combustion. Diesel PM can be controlled using Diesel Particulate Filter, which can effectively reduce the level of soot emissions to ambient background levels. $NO_2$ generated by the DOC is used to combust the carbon collected in the DPF at low temperature. To certificate DPF device that is suitable to domestic circumstances, it is necessary to exactly evaluate the DPF devices according to the regulation of DPF certificate test procedure fur retrofit. To do carry out the above-mentioned description the understanding of that regulation like the standard of PM reduction is needed. In this study the test procedure including test cycle and BPT test condition was examined, and also the test result for specific DPF was analyzed. In every test like field test, PM reduction efficiency test and Seoul-10 mode test, no defect was showed.
