인삼과 무 엽록체의 광합성 전자전달 활성 (Characteristics of Photosynthetic Electron Transport Activity in Isolated Chloroplast of Korean Ginseng and Radish)

  • In order to characterize the chloroplasts of Korean ginseng as a semi-shade plant and radish as a sun plant, effects of growth light intensity on photosynthetic electron transport (PS) activity in chloroplasts and superoxide (O2.-) production in thylakoid membrane by irradiation were investigated. High-light chloroplasts of both plants showed higher PS activities than those grown under ow growth light intensity. High PS II and low PS I activities in ginseng chloroplasts (ratio of PS II/PS I : 1.1) were observed, but radish chloroplasts showed low PS II and high PS I activities (ratio of PS II/PS I : 0.3). PS II activity of both plants was little affected by temperature in range of 15-35$^{\circ}C$. Activities of whole -chain (PS II+I) in ginseng and PS I in radish were increased at high temperature (4$0^{\circ}C$). Preincubation of chloroplasts at 4$0^{\circ}C$ during 30 min, as a mild heat stress, caused rapid decrease in PS II and PS II+I activities of both plants. However PS I activity was not decreased in ginseng and rather increased in radish. O2.- production (NBT reduction) in Mehler reaction in the thylakoid membrane was inhibited by DCMU in both plants. DMBIB inhibited O2.- production in ginseng, but radish was insensitive to DMBIB. Electron flow system in ginseng thylakoid membrane was more susceptible to damage of photooxidation than that of radish.

  • Low-density polyethylene(LDPE ; thickness 100[${\mu}m$] as a experimental specimen is irradiated with electron beam by using electron beam accelerator, and as an experimental specimen, the nonirradiated specimen and the specimen irradiated with electron beam is produced according to the classification of dose. From the analysis of DSC, the crystalline melting point of the specimen irradiated with electron beam is lower than that of virgin specimen. It is confirmed thai the volume resistivity is increased from the temperature over $50[^{\circ}C]{\sim}60[^{\circ}C]$ to the crystalline melting point because of the defects of solid structure and the formation of many trap centers by means of electron beam irradiation, but decreased in the temperature over the crystalline melting point because of the melt of crystalline.

Facile Fabrication of Flexible In-Plane Graphene Micro-Supercapacitor via Flash Reduction

  • Flash reduction of graphene oxide is an efficient method for producing high quality reduced graphene oxide under room temperature ambient conditions without the use of hazardous reducing agents (such as hydrazine and hydrogen iodide). The entire process is fast, low-cost, and suitable for large-scale fabrication, which makes it an attractive process for industrial manufacturing. Herein, we present a simple fabrication method for a flexible in-plane graphene micro-supercapacitor using flash light irradiation. All carbon-based, monolithic supercapacitors with in-plane geometry can be fabricated with simple flash irradiation, which occurs in only a few milliseconds. The thinness of the fabricated device makes it highly flexible and thus useful for a variety of applications, including portable and wearable electronics. The rapid flash reduction process creates a porous graphene structure with high surface area and good electrical conductivity, which ultimately results in high specific capacitance ($36.90mF\;cm^{-2}$) and good cyclic stability up to 8,000 cycles.

식품중 Nitrosamine 관련물질의 함량과 시험관내에서 NDMA의 생성조건 (Contents of Nitrosamine Related Compounds in Some Foods and Condition for NDMA Formation in Vitro)

  • This study was carried out to investigate contents of nitrosamine precursors such as trite and dimethylamine( DMA ) in some foods. The diazo and Cu- dithiocarbamate melt were used for determination, respectively. The major affecting factors of Nnitrosodimethylamine( NDMA ) formation such as pH, contents of DMA and NaNO$_{2}$, other chemicals, and UV- ray in beverage were investigated in vitro. The contents of nitrite in meat sausage and meat ham were 6.44 ∼ 18.66ppm and 12.85- 39.95pp% respectively, And extremely low level was detected in a certain kind of fish sausage. The contents of DMA in meat sausage meat ham and fish sausage were 3.34∼15. 85ppm, 1.20∼7.10ppm and 7.38∼12.28ppm, respectively. The optimum pH for NDMA formation in vitro was 3.0. NDMA formation was rapidly occurred at high temperature and formed above 80% within 1 hour reaction. The formation of NDMA was increased in proportion to the concentration of DMA and the square of the nitrite concentration. 0.1 M of sodium citrate, sodium tartarated and sodium taiocyanate enhanced NDMA formation. But sodium chloride did not affect. However, 0.3M of ascorbic acid, erythroid acid, ascorbic, palmitate and propy, gallate inhibited NDMA formalion approximately 78%,81%,86% and 85%, respectively. Cow milk and soybean milk inhibited 35 ∼47% of NDMA formation but orange juice and apple juice enhanced 15 ∼64% of NDMA formation. The peak in HPLC for NDMA disappeared by irradiation of UV to prior formed NDMA This result suggest that NDMA was destroyed by UV irradiation.

A Study on PV AC-Module with Active Power Decoupling and Energy Storage System

  • In general, electrolytic capacitors are used to reduce power pulsations on PV-panels. However, this can reduce the reliability of the PV AC-module system, because electrolytic capacitors have a shorter lifetime than PV-panels. In addition, PV-panels generate irregular power and inject it into the grid because the output power of a PV-panel depends on the surrounding conditions such as irradiation and temperature. To solve these problems, a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) AC-module with active power decoupling and energy storage is proposed. A parallel bi-directional converter is connected to the AC module to reduce the output power pulsations of PV-panels. Thus, the electrolytic capacitor can be replaced with a film capacitor. In addition, the irregular output power due to the surrounding conditions can be regulated by using a parallel energy storage circuit. To maintain the discontinuous conduction mode at low irradiation, the frequency control method is adopted. The design method of the proposed converter and the operation principles are introduced. An experimental prototype rated at 125W was built to verify the performance of the proposed converter.

이온빔으로 질화처리된 사파이어기판위에 성장한 ZnO박막의 특성 (Properties of ZnO thin film grown on $Al_2O_3$ substrate pretremented by nitrogen ion beam)

  • In this study, zinc oxide(ZnO) having large misfit(18.2%) with sapphire was tried to be grown on very thin nitride buffer layers. For the creation of various kinds of nitride buffer layer, sapphire surface was modified by an irradiation of nitrogen ion beam with low energy generated from stationary plasma thruster(SPT) at room temperature. After the irradiation of ion beam, Al-N and Al-O-N bonding was identified to be formed as nitride buffet layers. Surface morphology was measured by AFM and then ZnO growth was followed by pulsed laser deposition(PLD). Their properties are analyzed by XRD, AFM, TEM, and PL. We observed that surface morphology was improved and deep level emission related to defects was almost vanished in PL spectra from the ZnO grown on nitride buffer layer.

Simulation of reactivity-initiated accident transients on UO2-M5® fuel rods with ALCYONE V1.4 fuel performance code

  • The ALCYONE multidimensional fuel performance code codeveloped by the CEA, EDF, and AREVA NP within the PLEIADES software environment models the behavior of fuel rods during irradiation in commercial pressurized water reactors (PWRs), power ramps in experimental reactors, or accidental conditions such as loss of coolant accidents or reactivity-initiated accidents (RIAs). As regards the latter case of transient in particular, ALCYONE is intended to predictively simulate the response of a fuel rod by taking account of mechanisms in a way that models the physics as closely as possible, encompassing all possible stages of the transient as well as various fuel/cladding material types and irradiation conditions of interest. On the way to complying with these objectives, ALCYONE development and validation shall include tests on $PWR-UO_2$ fuel rods with advanced claddings such as M5(R) under "low pressure-low temperature" or "high pressure-high temperature" water coolant conditions. This article first presents ALCYONE V1.4 RIA-related features and modeling. It especially focuses on recent developments dedicated on the one hand to nonsteady water heat and mass transport and on the other hand to the modeling of grain boundary cracking-induced fission gas release and swelling. This article then compares some simulations of RIA transients performed on $UO_2$-M5(R) fuel rods in flowing sodium or stagnant water coolant conditions to the relevant experimental results gained from tests performed in either the French CABRI or the Japanese NSRR nuclear transient reactor facilities. It shows in particular to what extent ALCYONE-starting from base irradiation conditions it itself computes-is currently able to handle both the first stage of the transient, namely the pellet-cladding mechanical interaction phase, and the second stage of the transient, should a boiling crisis occur. Areas of improvement are finally discussed with a view to simulating and analyzing further tests to be performed under prototypical PWR conditions within the CABRI International Program. $\gamma$-ray 조사에 의한 제주산 양파의 발아 및 성분변화 (Sprouting and Component Change of Cheju-Grown Onions after $\gamma$-ray Irradiation)

  • 제주지방에서 양파 저장에 관한 ${\gamma}$-ray 처리와 저장장소에 대한 실험을 하였다. 발아율은 저온저장, 상온저장, 동굴저장에 관계없이 무처리 양파는 약 5개월 째부터 발아와 발근이 시작되었고 시간이 지날수록 증가하였으나 8월 상순경에는 0krad에서 동굴에 저장한 것은 50%, 상온에 저장한 것은 20%의 발아율을 나타내었다. 그러나 3krad, 6krad 처리한 것은 6개월까지는 거의 발아하지 않았다. 중량 감소는 발아와 밀접한 관계가 있는데 발아가 시작하기 전 40일 까지는 모든 처리에서 차이가 없었지만 발아가 시작되면서부터 급격히 감소하였다. 저온저장한 것은 부패율이 약 5~10% 내외로 7개월 후에도 식용이 가능하였으나 상온에 저장한 것은 0krad에서 50%정도 부패한 반면 3krad 및 6krad를 조사한 것은 저온저장인 경우 5%, 동굴저장인 경우 30~35%, 상온에 저장한 것은 30% 정도의 부패율을 나타내었다. 방사선조사의 다당류 변화에 대한 연구는 비교적 많이 이루어졌는데 동굴저장과 상온저장에서는 저장초기에는 3krad 및 6krad 조사한 것이 0krad 보다 다소 증가했으나 후기로 갈수록 역시 처리한 것이 양은 적으나 0krad보다는 증가한 사실을 알 수 있었다. Allum속 채소류에 많이 들어있는 유황은 저장장소에 관계없이 0krad에서는 저장후반기로 갈수록 적어졌고 냉장저장한 것은 3krad 및 6krad의 선량간에는 다소 차이가 있었으나 저장초기에는 유황함량이 증가하다가 12월 말경 부터는 점차 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

Assessment of three European fuel performance codes against the SUPERFACT-1 fast reactor irradiation experiment

  • The design phase and safety assessment of Generation IV liquid metal-cooled fast reactors calls for the improvement of fuel pin performance codes, in particular the enhancement of their predictive capabilities towards uranium-plutonium mixed oxide fuels and stainless-steel cladding under irradiation in fast reactor environments. To this end, the current capabilities of fuel performance codes must be critically assessed against experimental data from available irradiation experiments. This work is devoted to the assessment of three European fuel performance codes, namely GERMINAL, MACROS and TRANSURANUS, against the irradiation of two fuel pins selected from the SUPERFACT-1 experimental campaign. The pins are characterized by a low enrichment (~ 2 wt.%) of minor actinides (neptunium and americium) in the fuel, and by plutonium content and cladding material in line with design choices envisaged for liquid metal-cooled Generation IV reactor fuels. The predictions of the codes are compared to several experimental measurements, allowing the identification of the current code capabilities in predicting fuel restructuring, cladding deformation, redistribution of actinides and volatile fission products. The integral assessment against experimental data is complemented by a code-to-code benchmark focused on the evolution of quantities of engineering interest over time. The benchmark analysis points out the differences in the code predictions of fuel central temperature, fuel-cladding gap width, cladding outer radius, pin internal pressure and fission gas release and suggests potential modelling development paths towards an improved description of the fuel pin behaviour in fast reactor irradiation conditions.

저선량 X선 조사 수입 오렌지의 상온 저장 중 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Low-Dose X-Ray Irradiated-Imported Navel Oranges during Storage at Room Temperature (20℃))

  • X선 조사에 의한 수입 오렌지의 품질 특성을 조사하여 방사선 식품 검역 관리의 기초자료로 활용하기 위하여 미국산 Navel orange에 선량 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 kGy의 X선을 조사하여 상온($20{\pm}0.1^{\circ}C$)에서 12일간 저장하면서 색도, 경도, 당산비, 총당, 환원당, 비타민 C 함량을 조사하였다. 색도, 당산비, 총당 및 환원당 함량, 비타민 C 함량은 조사선량에는 유의적 차이가 없었다. 경도는 저장 후기에 비조사구와 조사구의 차이가 점차 감소하며 비조사구와 다른 조사구가 유사한 값을 나타냈다. 환원당 함량은 저장기간에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 관능평가에서 비조사구와 조사구는 단맛과 질감을 제외하고는 저장기간에 따른 유의적 차이가 없었다. 전체적인 선호도에서는 저장기간과 조사선량에 유의적 차이가 없었다. 상기의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때 X선 조사는 오렌지의 관능적 특성과 품질 특성에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 보인다.
