Evaluation on Expectation of Deflection of Floor Damping Materials Subjected to Long-Term Load (장기하중을 받는 바닥완충재의 처짐 예측 평가)

  • Floor damping materials used in floating floor system to diminish the floor noise have been made with low density and dynamic stiffness. Owing to this low density and dynamic stiffness, the deflection in these materials under long-term loading and cracking of the floor finishing mortar in the floating floor system may occur. This paper presents the results of long-term loading effects on the deflection of different types of floor damping materials. The experimental program involved the long-term loading tests for 490 days loading period on sixteen specimens. Specimens were classified as DM1(Damping Materials) to DM8, depending upon the four main parameters; types, bottom shapes and densities of floor damping materials and amount of loading. Results indicated that the long-term deflection of all specimens of damping materials remained unchanged after 200 days at all loading amounts, except the specimens made up of Polystrene, in which long-term deflection remained unchanged after 160 days at 250 N load and 100 days 500 N load. In this paper, two types of correlation expressions were shown in the deflection range prior to the range where deflection remained constant; two analyses by ISO 20392 and linear regression. In comparison of two analyses and experimental results on the difference of deflection of 16 specimens, the difference of deflection was below 0.4 mm in those analyses in case of that total deflection was below 10 mm. Restrictively, it was judged that the analysis for the deflection of specimens made up of Polystrene is more appropriate using ISO 20392.

Improvement of Straw Loading Method on Survival of Mouse IVF/IVC Blastocysts Cryopreserved by Vitrification (체외수정과 체외배양에서 생산된 생쥐 배반포기배의 초자화 동결에 있어서 Straw Loading 방법의 개선)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of straw loading method and thawing protocol on the in vitro development of in vitro produced mouse blastocysts cryopreserved by vitrification. Three loading types of straw I, Il and III on loading and sealing method were made for vitrification. The ability of the solution on straw loading methods to remain vitreous during warming was tested by exposed in air for 1 to 10 s sec. and then plunged the vitrified straws into water bath at 25°C. Embryos to be vitrified were equilibrated to the 20% EG for 5min. and exposed in EFS 40 for 1min. The plug ends of Straw I and Straw II were sealed with straw powder and Straw III was treated straw powder, followed by heat sealing and then plunged into LN$_2$. The results obtained in these experiments were summarized as follows; 1) Straw I embryo column mostly changed from transparent to opaque upon thawing without exposure in air for 3-6 sec. Straw II embryo column was I improved partially but was not remained completely vitreous during warming. However, when Straw lll loading method was used, the embryo column was remained vitreous completely. 2) High survival rates and development rates of each groups (middle blastocysts and hatching blastocysts) of vitrified embryos were obtained by using Straw III loading method than Straw I method (P<0.05). And the range of s standard error was low in Straw lll method. 3) When the embryos vitrified-frozen were placed in air for 3, 5 and l0sec. and then warmed rapidly in water bath at 25$^{\circ}C$, the survival rates after 24h of culture were 72.7-87.1% and the development rates to hatching stage after 48h of culture were 34.0-48.4%. There were no significantly differences according to exposure time in air during warming. In conclusion, the present results showed that highly survival and low standard error of vitrified-frozen mouse bIastocysts were obtained by using straw lll loading, double sealing and appropriate 2 step warming method.

  • In this study, the muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension were determined using an isokinetic muscle strength meter (Biodex) in patients with chronic lumbar go (10 male and 10 females), and the changes in muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension after application of Y-shaped sacrospinalis muscle taping, typically used for patient with lumbar go, were studied. In addition, the sacrospinalis muscle taping of a different shape (I-shaped taping) was applied bilaterally centering on the spine, and the muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension were determined and compared with those before taping. In addition, the results after application of Y-shaped taping and I-shaped taping were also compared. 1. The extensor muscle strength of the lumbar at loading of $60^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio Taping and after application of Y-shaped taping showed the level of significance (p<.05). The flexor muscle strength of the lumbar at loading of $60^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio taping and after application of Y-shaped taping did not show the level of significance. 2. The flexor muscle endurance of the lumbar at loading of $90^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio Taping and application of Y-shaped taping did not show the level of significance.   • Most degeneating diseases and back pains in the orthopaedic disease are originated from the unbalance of stress distribution in the low-lumbar spine. Therefore the stress analysis of lowerback is indispensible to the clinical diagnosis for the developing reason and the developing process of diseases. Therefore the same model materials as following are eveloped to analyze the stress distributions of lower-back by photoelastic experiment. The verterbral body and the process are molded from epoxy resin(the weight ratio of Araldite and hardner is 10 to 3), models are geometrically identical to them in vivo respectively and the ratio of their elastic modulus to that of model material is 1 to 10. It is assured that KE-1300 Silicon(E=0.8MPa), TSE-3562 Silicon(0.5MPa) and the composite silicon(3MPa) (the weight ratio of KE-1300 silicon and Jioreal : 10 to 4) are respectively effective as the model materials of ligament, musles and intervertevral disc which is essential to the movement of low-lumbar spine. All the elements associated with the movement of the low-lumbar spine are molded through the molding method developed in this research and assembled with the angles between the verterbra and the disc in the normal human lumbosacral spine. The stress distributions of the assembled model are analyzed by photoelastic experiment. It is certified by comparing the results of photoelastic experimebt with the clinical situations that the loading dveice and the loading conceptions used in this paper are effective.

Importance and Performance Analysis on Factors of PC Component Allocation and Loading Planning (IPA를 통한 PC부재 할당 및 적재 계획 시 고려사항 분석)

  • PC component allocation and loading plan can contribute to reductions in carbon dioxide emission and energy use of vehicles and total project costs with increased utilization of vehicle loading space. The study derived 18 considerations that PC construction plant managers and site managers take into account when they plan allocation and loading of PC components. Then, IPA (Importance and Performance Analysis) was performed to assess importance and performance of the 18 considerations. Results show that in the PC component allocation planning, considerations regarding the number of vehicles and existence of yard for storing PC components have not been taken into account well by the managers. In the PC component loading planning, PC component loading direction has not been reflected well by the managers although it is considered important by them. Recently, ill-planning issues of PC component transportation, such as inefficient use of vehicle space and loading with low stability, are frequent due to various types of PC components produced. In this context, if the results of this study are reflected in the development of component allocation and loading planning, vehicle management of PC projects would be more efficient, thereby leading to economic project management.

  • To analysis the failure character of Low-Heat concrete which is used to prevent the thermal crack caused by hydration heat, static loading test was performed by this test method, "Determination of the Fracture Energy of Motar and Concrete by Means of Three-Point Band Tests on Notched Beam" (suggested by RILEM 50-FMC Committe). This study compared and analysised the fracture energy of Mode I (opening mode), the most general pattern in the view of water-cemente ratio(W/C), compressive strength and age of Ordinary Portland Concrete and Low-Heat Concrete under the same mixture. The test results show that the case of Ordinary Portland Concrete and Low-Heat Concrete, low Water-Cemente ratio(W/C) cause the increase of fracture energy, and high failure-strength decrease failure-deflection, and the fracture energy of Low-Heat Concrete is similar to Ordinary Portland Concrete as the age increase. increase.

  • High power density on-board power supply is implemented by using flat transformer. In the high frequency switching converters, large leakage inductance increases the switching stress and duty cycle loss, which sometimes limits maximum switching frequency. The flat transformer is designed by using special core structure, which has very low profile and low temperature rise since the thermal loading is spread evenly over a larger area. 100W, 3.3V output on board supply is built and tested and 50.7W/$\textrm{inch}^{3}$ power density is achieved.

  • A "two-fluid" model using thermal eddy diffusivity concept and Lumley's drag reduction theory, is proposed to analyze heat transfer of the turbulent dilute gas-particle flow in a vertical pipe with constant wall heat flux. The thermal eddy diffusivity is derived to be a function of the ratio of the heat capacity-density products .rho. over bar $C_{p}$ of the gaseous phase and the particulate phase and also of the ratio of thermal relaxation time scale to that of turbulence. The Lumley's theory dictates the variation of the viscous sublayer thickness depending on the particle loading ratio Z and the relative particle size $d_{p}$/D. At low loading ratio, the size of viscous sublayer thickness is important for suspension heat transfer, while at higher loading, the effect of the ratio .rho. $_{p}$ over bar $C_{p}$$_{p}$/ .rho. $_{f}$ over bar $C_{p}$$_{f}$ is dominant. The major cause of decrease in the suspension Nusselt number at lower loading ratio is found to be due to the increase of the viscous sublayer thickness caused by the suppression of turbulence near the wall by the presence of solid particles. Predicted Nusselt numbers using the present model are in satisfactory agreements with available experimental data both in pipe entrance and the fully developed regions.

Bending ratcheting behavior of pressurized straight Z2CND18.12N stainless steel pipe

  • The ratcheting effect greatly challenges the design of piping components. With the assistance of the quasi-three point bending apparatus, ratcheting and the ratcheting boundary of pressurized straight Z2CND18.12N stainless steel pipe under bending loading and vertical displacement control were studied experimentally. The characteristics of progressive inelastic deformation in axial and hoop directions of the Z2CND18.12N stainless steel pipes were investigated. The experiment results show that the ratcheting strain occurs mainly in the hoop direction while there is less ratcheting strain in the axial direction. The characteristics of the bending ratcheting behavior of the pressure pipes were derived and compared under load control and displacement control, respectively. The results show that the cyclic bending loading and the internal pressure affect the ratcheting behavior of the pressurized straight pipe significantly under load control. In the meantime, the ratcheting characteristics are also highly associated with the cyclic displacement and the internal pressure under displacement control. All these factors affect not only the saturation of the ratcheting strain but the ratcheting strain rate. A series of multi-step bending ratcheting experiments were conducted under both control modes. It was found that the hardening effect of Z2CND18.12N stainless steel pipe under previous cyclic loadings no matter with high or low displacement amplitudes is significant, and the prior loading histories greatly retard the ratcheting strain and its rate under subsequent loadings. Finally, the ratcheting boundaries of the pressurized straight Z2CND18.12N stainless steel pipe were determined and compared based on KTA/ASME, RCC-MR and the experimental results.

Design Flow Velocity Changes According to the Design Flow Determination Methods in the Sanitary Sewer (오수관 설계유량 산정법이 설계유속에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study analyzed actual cases of designed flow estimation method and designed flow rate of sewage pipe lines. In order to examine the effects of peak-hour demand factor estimation with given daily highest peak loading, we analyzed its effects on designed flow rate with changing the peak-hour demand factor from 2.0 to 10.0. The results of this study are as follows. When reviewing the recent designs, we found that 59.4% of pipe line with 250mm and 300mm diameter, which fall under minimum allowable pipeline did not meet the minimum velocity which is specified as 0.6m/sec in design standards. The pipe line that have minimal access population or have very low slope did not satisfy the minimum velocity. In estimating the designed sewage flow, the applied daily highest peak loading and hourly highest peaking loading were the load factor for the entire population of the planned area, and for the peak loading of the initial pipes connected to a very small population, we applied the same factor as that applied to the entire area and, as a result, the hourly highest flow was underestimated. Because, in case of the initial pipes, the method of applying the same peak loading to all subject areas is highly possible to produce underestimated design flow, when estimating the designed flow of the initial pipes connected to a small population need to adopt a rational flow factor according to the size of population. For this, it is considered to investigate and analyze raw data on daily and hourly variation of sewage flow.
