지수감쇠 기법을 이용한 반사경 손실측정 시스템의 오차특성 연구 (Study of the error chsracteristics in a mirror loss measurement system using an exqonential decay metod)

  • 손실 200 ppm급과 30 ppm급인 두 종류의 시험 반사경을 대상으로, 지수감쇠 방법을 이용한 반사경 손실측정 시스템의 오차 특성이 조사되었다. 공진기 길이 떨림에 의한 공진기 감쇠신호의 지수함수 왜곡을 보상하기 위하여 감쇠신호 데이터 평균기법을 적용하였다. 감쇠신호 6개의 평균이 취해졌을 때 감쇠신호의 지수함수 곡선맞춤 오차개선이 뚜력시 관측되었으며 손실 200ppm급 시험 반사경의 경우 약 2.4배 손실 30ppm급 시험 반사경의 경우 약 1.3배의 반사경 손실 측정오차 개선효과를 얻을 수 있었다 시험 공진기에서의 일별(day-to-day) 반사경 손실측정 반복도 오차가 조사되었다. 손실 200ppm급 시험 반사경의 경우 약 5.0%, 30ppm급 시험 반사경의 경우 약 26.4%의 손실측정 반복도 오차가 관측되었다. 저손실 반사경 평가에서 확인된 낮은 감쇠신호 데이터 평균효과와 높은 손실측정 반복도 오차는 손실측정 시스템 자체의 측정오차 이외에 시험 반사경 표면의 불균일한 손실 공간분포와 주변 오염원 유입의 결과로 분석되었다 또한 공진기 길이 떨림의 크기와 공진기 길이 측정오차가 손실측정 시스템의 정확도에 미치는 영향을 계산을 통해 조사한 결과, 분해능 수 ppm 급 현재의 측정 시스템의 성능에 미칠수 있는 공진기 길이오차의 영향은 충분히 적은 것으로 확인되었다.

  • The authors analyzed harmonic current based loss of a high temperature superconducting (HTS) DC model cable. The loss in HTS DC cable is generated due to the variation of magnetic field caused by harmonic current in a HVDC transmission system. The authors designed and fabricated two meters of HTS DC model cable for verification of real loss characteristic. In this paper, the loss characteristics caused by harmonic current in the HTS DC model cable are analyzed using commercial finite element method software package. The loss of the HTS DC cable is much less than the loss of the HTS AC cable but the loss should be considered to decide a proper capacity of cooling system.

Genetic Hearing Loss and Gene Therapy

  • Genetic hearing loss crosses almost all the categories of hearing loss which includes the following: conductive, sensory, and neural; syndromic and nonsyndromic; congenital, progressive, and adult onset; high-frequency, low-frequency, or mixed frequency; mild or profound; and recessive, dominant, or sex-linked. Genes play a role in almost half of all cases of hearing loss but effective treatment options are very limited. Genetic hearing loss is considered to be extremely genetically heterogeneous. The advancements in genomics have been instrumental to the identification of more than 6,000 causative variants in more than 150 genes causing hearing loss. Identification of genes for hearing impairment provides an increased insight into the normal development and function of cells in the auditory system. These defective genes will ultimately be important therapeutic targets. However, the auditory system is extremely complex which requires tremendous advances in gene therapy including gene vectors, routes of administration, and therapeutic approaches. This review summarizes and discusses recent advances in elucidating the genomics of genetic hearing loss and technologies aimed at developing a gene therapy that may become a treatment option for in the near future.

데이터손실과 시간지연을 고려한 네트워크 제어시스템의 안정도 분석 (Stability Analysis of Networked Control System with Data Loss and Time Delay)

  • Network uncertainties such as data loss and time delay can vary the stability property of networked control system. Therefore, these uncertainties must be considered first in designing networked control system. In this paper, we present a new stability analysis method of networked control system with data loss and time delay. The proposed method can determine maximum allowable time delay and minimum allowable transmission rate that preserves stability performance of networked control system. The results of the simulation validate effectiveness of our stability analysis method.

  • Transmission delay and packet loss induced by a communication network can degrade the control performance and, even make the system unstable. This paper presents a method for compensating transmission delay and packet loss in a networked control system for unmanned underwater vehicle. The proposed method is based on Lagrange interpolation in order to satisfy the requirements of simplicity and model-independency. In this work, the lost/delayed data are estimated in real time by only using the past data without requiring any mathematical model of the controlled system. Consequently, the proposed method can be implemented independent of the controlled system, and also it can achieve fast and accurate compensation performance. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated by numerical simulations with an unmanned underwater vehicle.

시뮬레이션 기법을 이용한 운영리스크 평가 (Simulation-Based Operational Risk Assessment)

  • This paper proposes a framework of Operational Risk-based Business Continuity System(ORBCS), and develops protection system for operational risk through operational risk assessment and loss distribution approach based on risk management guideline announced in the basel II. In order to find out financial operational risk, business processes of domestic bank are assorted by seven event factors and eight business activities so that we can construct the system. After we find out KRI(Key Risk Indicator) index, tasks and risks, we calculated risk possibility and expected cost by analyzing quantitative data, questionnaire and qualitative approach for AHP model from the past events. Furthermore, we can assume unexpected cost loss by using loss distribution approach presented in the basel II. Each bank can also assume expected loss distributions of operational risk by seven event factors and eight business activities. In this research, we choose loss distribution approach so that we can calculate operational risk. In order to explain number of case happened, we choose poisson distribution, log-normal distribution for loss cost, and estimate model for Monte-Carlo simulation. Through this process which is measured by operational risk. of ABC bank, we find out that loss distribution approach explains closer unexpected cost directly compared than internal measurement approach, and makes less unexpected cost loss.

지형공간정보체계와 범용토양유실방정식을 이용한 유역의 토양유실 예측 (Prediction of Soil Loss in Watershed using Universal Soil Loss Equation and Geo-Spatial Information System)

  • The soil loss by rainfalls or runoffs has been one of the main environment problems in 20th century. The soil loss cause the various problems those are decreasing of the agricultural productivity, desolating of pasture land and disturbing of water flowing. Therefore, it is very important to measure properly various factors those are affecting to soil loss and to recognize a seriousness of soil loss problem. In this study, we use the USLE(Universal Soil Loss Equation) as a basic approaching way for soil loss analysis in a watershed, and the GSIS(Geo-Spatial Information System) technique is applied to evaluate for factors those are related to the USLE. The results of this study are consisted of three parts those are to build up the various topographical information that is needed for analysis of wide area soil loss by using the USLE, to evaluate the factors those are needed to the USLE, to estimate the soil loss condition of subbasin in the watershed.

대단위 아파트에서 특고압 배전시스템의 경제성 평가 (The Simplified Economic Evaluation of Extra-High Voltage Distribution System in the Large Apartment Complex)

  • 요즈음과 같은 고유가 시대에 대두되고 있는 분야인 에너지 절감과 관련하여, 본 논문에서는 대단위 전력 수용가 내부의 저압배전 시스템을 특고압으로 변경할 때의 전기에너지의 손실절감에 대해 논하였다. 현재 대수용가에서는 특고압을 수전하여 저압으로 강압하여 각 부하에 전압선로로 전력을 공급하는데, 그 대신에 본 논문에서는 수전한 특고압을 수용가내의 개별 부하 근방까지 직접 가져오고 여기서 저압으로 변환하여 짧은 거리에 위치한 부하들에 전력을 공급할 때 소요되는 대략적인 설비비, 공사비의 증가금액과 선로의 전력손실 감소에 의한 절감 금액을 계산하였다. 또한 초기투자비의 회수 기간을 산정함으로 특고압 배전시스템의 경제성에 대하여 간략히 평가하였다.

Arc Detection System using a Spectrometer for Status Monitoring of a Rigid Catenary

  • In this paper, a system for the precise detection of arcs is proposed for a rigid catenary using a spectrometer. For this purpose, a miniature rigid catenary contact-loss simulator was used. Experiments were performed by varying the amplitude of the excitation frequency with which a real arc can occur using a simulator in the range of 5 to 15 mm. The range of the radiated wavelength of the copper, which is a material in the rigid catenary, and the irradiance were measured using a spectrometer according to the generated contact loss. In addition, the amount was monitored over time and its characteristics were analyzed. The voltage and current of the load were analyzed when the arc occurred due to contact loss. The analytical results will be applied to detect rigid catenary arcs and used as a monitoring system for real vehicles developed in the future. This will prevent abrasion and disconnection in rigid catenary systems.

A Realistic Path Loss Model for Real-time Communication in the Urban Grid Environment for Vehicular Ad hoc Networks

  • Wireless signal transmission is influenced by environmental effects. These effects have also been challenging for Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) in real-time communication. More specifically, in an urban environment, with high mobility among vehicles, a vehicle's status from the transmitter can instantly trigger from line of sight to non-line of sight, which may cause loss of real-time communication. In order to overcome this, a deterministic signal propagation model is required, which has less complexity and more feasibility of implementation. Hence, we propose a realistic path loss model which adopts ray tracing technique for VANET in a grid urban environment with less computational complexity. To evaluate the model, it is applied to a vehicular simulation scenario. The results obtained are compared with different path loss models in the same scenario based on path loss value and application layer performance analysis. The proposed path loss model provides higher loss value in dB compared to other models. Nevertheless, the performance of vehicle-vehicle communication, which is evaluated by the packet delivery ratio with different vehicle transmitter density verifies improvement in real-time vehicle-vehicle communication. In conclusion, we present a realistic path loss model that improves vehicle-vehicle wireless real-time communication in the grid urban environment.
