  • Population learning algorithm (PLA) is a population-based method that was inspired by the similarities to the phenomenon of social education process in which a diminishing number of individuals enter an increasing number of learning stages. The study aims to develop a framework that repeatedly applying the PLA to solve the discrete resource constrained project scheduling problem with two objectives: minimizing project makespan and renewable resource availability, which are two most common concerns of management when a project is being executed. The PLA looping framework will provide a number of near Pareto optimal schedules for the management to make a choice. Different improvement schemes and learning procedures are applied at different stages of the process. The process gradually becomes more and more sophisticated and time consuming as there are less and less individuals to be taught. An experiment with ProGen generated instances was conducted, and the results demonstrated that the looping framework using PLA outperforms those using genetic local search, particle swarm optimization with local search, scatter search, as well as biased sampling multi-pass algorithm, in terms of several performance measures of proximity. However, the diversity using spread metric does not reveal any significant difference between these five looping algorithms.

  • A loop can take place in the process of managing tree topology for mobility management of mobile nodes in infrastructure-based mobile ad hoc networks. The formation of a loop degrades an effective bandwidth of the wireless network by passing an identical message repeatedly within the same loop. Therefore, the loop should be resolved to revert the system back to the normal state. In this paper, we propose a simple and novel mechanism that detects and resolves a loop quickly by tracking the depth of trees. The mobility management approach that employs the loop resolution method is evaluated comparatively with the original tree-based one and the hybrid one. It is shown that the proposed approach far outperforms the other approaches, and it is robust against the rapid changes in network topology.

  • Though it is proposed to use Petri net or dynamic FSM methods for the generation of test sequences on some specific protocols, those methods ere unavailable on the cases where the protocol allows faults processing or includes paths in looping which cause errors or endless looping by the explosion of states. The determination of test coverage on the protocol software that has been designed and implemented is difficult by the reason of development periods, technical solutions to support and also economical limitations. It is suggested to generate timely protocol software test sequences on the basis of regular expressions covering the functions of protocol. With this regular expression method, the 38 test sequences of Q.2971 protocol has been generated and also minimized the endless looping problem when dynamic test suites are used by simplifying the test path expressions that denotes loops, According to the works, the suggested method is confirmed as simple and easy compare to the other dynamic test sequence generation techniques. Moreover. the method to search an optional test path whether it Is included or not in the regular path expression is reviewed.

  • In traditional routing protocols including LEACH for wireless sensor networks, nodes suffer from unbalanced energy consumption because the nodes require large transmission energy as the distance to the sink node increase. Multi-hop based routing protocols have been studied to address this problem. In existing protocols, each cluster head usually chooses the closest head as a relay node. We propose LEACH-CHT, in which cluster heads choose the path with least energy consumption to send data to the sink node. In our research, each hop, a cluster head selects the least cost path to the sink node. This method solves the looping problem efficiently as well as make it possible that a cluster head excludes other cluster heads placed farther than its location from the path, without additional energy consumption. By balancing the energy consumption among the nodes, our proposed scheme outperforms existing multi-hop schemes by up to 36% in terms of average network lifetime.

  • This paper is concerned with the query slipping and its prevention for trajectory-based matchmaking service in wireless sensor networks. The problem happens when a query propagating along a subscribe trajectory moves through a publish trajectory without obtaining desired information, even though two trajectories intersect geometrically. There follows resubmission of the query or initiation of another subscribe trajectory Thus, query slipping results in considerable time delay and in the worst, looping in the trajectory or query flooding the network. We address the problem formally and suggest a solution. First, the area where nodes are distributed is logically partitioned into smaller grids, and a grid-based multicast next-hop selection algorithm is proposed. Our algorithm not only attempts to make the trajectory straight but also considers the nodal density of recipient nodes and the seamless grid-by-grid multicast. We prove that the publishing and subscribing using the algorithm eventually eliminate the possibility of the slipping. It toms out that our algorithm dissipates significantly less power of neighbor nodes, compared to the non grid-based method, as greedy forwarding, and the fixed- sized grid approach, as GAF (Geographical Adaptive Fidelity)

  • Development of the yarn sorting equipment (khonhook) by slide way due to the principle of engineering that cause of workers on the long of motion time. The data was collected from the weaving group Ban Nongkok village, Nakornratchasima Province, THAILAND. According to the study, the step of yarn sorting (konhook) was one of the steps that affect long of motion time. The problem was the inadequate capacity equipment. The objective of research was to study and develop the yarn sorting equipment (konhook). The fabric used in the study was 64 meters in length and 1 meter in width. Researchers studied the processes the yarn sorting (konhook) which it consists of seven sub steps, 1) the thread tube setting, 2) yarn bunching, 3) tying a knot at the end of yarn, 4) looping the yarn into a pillar, 5) sorting the yarn (konhook), 6) crossing pillars and 7) taking out the yarn. Researchers focused on studying yarn sorting process (konhook) by designing and creating a device for yarn sorting (konhook) for reducing yarn sorting (konhook) time by the original method performance indicators. The results found that the developed yarn sorting equipment (konhook) ) by slide way could reduce working time from 7.24 minutes to 6.08 minutes of the original equipment yarn sorting (konhook). This means it could make the process 16.02 % faster. This also helps reducing the distance of workers' movement from 2,234 meters to 8 meters. This is 99.64 % shorter.

  • In this paper, we propose a speech animation synthesis specialized in Korean through a rule-based co-articulation model. Speech animation has been widely used in the cultural industry, such as movies, animations, and games that require natural and realistic motion. Because the technique for audio driven speech animation has been mainly developed for English, however, the animation results for domestic content are often visually very unnatural. For example, dubbing of a voice actor is played with no mouth motion at all or with an unsynchronized looping of simple mouth shapes at best. Although there are language-independent speech animation models, which are not specialized in Korean, they are yet to ensure the quality to be utilized in a domestic content production. Therefore, we propose a natural speech animation synthesis method that reflects the linguistic characteristics of Korean driven by an input audio and text. Reflecting the features that vowels mostly determine the mouth shape in Korean, a coarticulation model separating lips and the tongue has been defined to solve the previous problem of lip distortion and occasional missing of some phoneme characteristics. Our model also reflects the differences in prosodic features for improved dynamics in speech animation. Through user studies, we verify that the proposed model can synthesize natural speech animation.
