통기성 상자 구조물의 강도적 최적화 연구(II)-유한요소해석 (Strength Optimization of Ventilating Container(II)-Finite Element Analysis)

  • Corrugated board is composed of cellulose fibers which are arranged with the same direction as the board manufactured. The direction is classified with machine direction (MD) and cross-machine direction (CD). Therefore, corrugated board is orthotropic material that has totally different strength properties at each direction and especially, at machine direction, the mechanical properties of fiberboard is superior. The compression strength of the corrugated fiberboard boxes is very important information to the manufacturers and the end users. This study was carried out to design the optimum pattern, size, and location of ventilating hole for ventilating container through the finite element analysis. The optimum pattern and location of ventilating and hand hole were vertical oblong, a short distance to the right and left from the center of panel, and center or a short distance to the top of both sides, respectively. We identified the effect on both stress dispersion and stress level from the analysis of redisigned hand hole.

  • Recently, Location-based services(LBS) allow consumers to receive services based on their geographic location data. Users want to take services based location information with portable devices. And Point of Interest(POI) information's usage is increasing with mobile device's development and user's interest. And this paper shows that we connect the multimedia POI database(DB), provide the multimedia services through the portable devices and search POI using location and direction information. The multimedia POI is consisted of sound, image, moving image and animation with location information. When we search POI, we find POI in DB using the area zone and direction information.[l]

  • 본 논문은 기존 위치기반 서비스에서 최근접질의 및 한 지점에서의 방향성분을 고려한 최근접질의의 단점을 해소하고자 가중치 벡터합을 이용하는 새로운 검색방법을 제안한다. 검색반경으로 1차 필터링된 영역에서, 2차 필터링을 위해 이용자의 이동방향, 관심방향 및 검색각도를 조합한 방향정보를 이용한다. 이동방향은 일정구간내 존재하는 벡터들의 가중치 합으로 계산하며, 검색각도를 $0{\sim}360^{\circ}$까지 세분화하여 검색방향에 대한 범위를 조절 하도록 한다. 본 검색방법에 사용되는 데이터는 촬영위치가 기록된 정지영상 및 동영상, 업체나 관광지의 위치정보와 함께 소비자에게 제공되는 텍스트, 웹, 영상 등 각종 미디어 형태의 데이터가 될 수 있다. 제안하는 방법은 이동 중인 이용자가 현 위치를 기준으로 일정 반경 내에 있으면서 유사방향에 부합하는 미디어만을 검색하도록 함으로써, 이미 지났거나 혹은 관련 없는 방향의 미디어를 배제한 검색결과를 제공하기 때문에 기존의 위치만을 고려한 검색방법에 비해 보다 정확한 검색을 보장할 수 있으며, 방향성을 고려한 기존 최근접질의 에 비해서도 보다 유연하고 포괄적인 검색결과를 보장한다.

  • For underwater vehicles, the use of sensors such as cameras and laser scanners is limited by the difference in environment compared to robots designed to work on dry land. In underwater environments, if use is made of sound signals, valuable information can be obtained. The most important application is the localization of underwater sound sources. The estimated location of a sound source can be used to control underwater robots or submarines. Thus, the purpose of this research is to estimate the source's direction and location in a noisy underwater environment. The direction of the sound source is obtained using two hydrophones. Furthermore, if we assume that the robot or sound source is moving, the location of the sound source is estimated using more than two estimated directions. The feasibility of the developed algorithm is examined by experiments in a water tank and in the ocean.

확률적 방향각 추정에 기반한 수중 음원의 위치 인식 기법 (Underwater Acoustic Source Localization based on the Probabilistic Estimation of Direction Angle)

  • Acoustic signal is crucial for the autonomous navigation of underwater vehicles. For this purpose, this paper presents a method of acoustic source localization. The proposed method is based on the probabilistic estimation of time delay of acoustic signals received by two hydrophones. Using Bayesian update process, the proposed method can provide reliable estimation of direction angle of the acoustic source. The acquired direction information is used to estimate the location of the acoustic source. By accumulating direction information from various vehicle locations, the acoustic source localization is achieved using extended Kalman filter. The proposed method can provide a reliable estimation of the direction and location of the acoustic source, even under for a noisy acoustic signal. Experimental results demonstrate the performance of the proposed acoustic source localization method in a real sea environment.

Topological Locating of Power Quality Event Source

  • This paper proposes a topological locating algorithm to determine the location of the power quality event source. This algorithm makes use of the information on the topology of the monitored network and on the direction of PQ events. As a result, the bus incidence matrix is modified using monitor location and the direction matrix is constructed. With this information, the algorithm determines the suspected locations of the PQ events. To reduce suspicious areas, it utilizes event cause and related equipment. In case of line fault event, it calculates the distance from the monitor to the location of event source. The overall algorithm is applied to the IEEE test feeder and accurately identifies the event source location.

  • The most important technique for an indoor robot navigation is to find out the direction and the distance from the current location to the destination through the information achieved from the sensor. For this purpose, we suggest sensor-based local homing method which compares the destination sensory data with the current location. As for the sensors, we use the CCD camera and the ultrasonic sensor, and recorded entire 360 degree panoramic data. We match the features of the image data, and the distance and the direction of the matched point will be considered as fuzzy numbers. Through a simple fuzzy arithmetic, we infer the geometric relations between the current location and the destination location.

A Wireless Location-Based Routing Algorithm in Multi-User Game Environments

  • In this paper, we propose a wireless location-based routing algorithm which uses the location information of its neighbor nodes and a destination node. At first, the proposed routing algorithm forwards a packet to the X direction by selecting a closest node to its destination as a next hop in terms of the X coordinate until the packet reaches closely to the packet's destination. Then the packet is forwarded to the Y direction by selecting a closest node to its destination in terms of the Y coordinate. We use a back off mechanism in case that a next hop cannot be found using the proposed routing algorithm, which resolves loops while forwarding. The experimental results show that the proposed routing algorithm performs well like the existing routing algorithms Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector and Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing. It is expected to use the proposed routing algorithm in the digital battlefield of military environments and survival games of commercial environments.

  • Recently, GPS device is used in various industries. GPS can calculate a moving train's velocity, location, and direction. In this paper, we examine a train approaching alarm device's application, possibility, and merits in the train system. Especially, we investigate solubility of trouble caused by using GPS and RF system for detecting the train's velocity, the location and direction recognition.

  • The results of source location in terms of AE signal occurred by the spot exciting as suggested in this research, it has been confirmed that AE technique is quite fruitful in figuring out the location of the occurrence, form, size and direction of the defects. Thus, it is expected that the application of the experimental method suggested in this study would make it possible to identify, in the nondestructive way, the location of the defect in the material.
