This study aimed at suggesting improvement of lighting environment of the coffee house using study place. To this end, a series of field investigation was conducted in four possible target coffee houses around university. The field measurement included measurement of general illuminance and tabletop illuminance, observing illumination condition, and status of artificial lighting. Also, on-site questionnaire survey was administrated to 80 users of field measurement targets about using characteristics of coffee house and user's subjective response on light environment. The results are summarized as follows: (1) According to questionnaire survey, most of users checked 'learning (study and reading)' in 'purpose of coffee house using', and 'slightly dark' was checked most in each subjective response (brightness on general space and on tabletop at daytime/night); (2) as results of measurements on general illuminance and on tabletop illuminance during daytime, only one coffee house was suitable for standard; (3) as results of measurements on illuminance during night, all target coffee houses were not met the standard; (4) as results of uniformity ratios, almost uniformities of general illuminance were not met the standard except one case. The common problems of lighting environment of coffee house were analyzed as lack of daylight illumination e.g. having low amount of sunshine from skylight, un-uniformity of insolation by floor plan and absence of window blind, and un-uniformity of artificial luminous intensity e.g. lack of the number or brightness of artificial lighting, using the indirect lighting, using only local lighting, and non-uniform arrangement of artificial lighting.

To respond to the announcement of the revised version of science curriculum early this year, it has been necessary to develop new science textbooks which can be appropriate and effective to achieve the goals of the revised curriculum. The system of new textbooks needs to embrace the concerns of cognitive development in scientific knowledge, skills, and attitudes as well as social and cultural demands in the rapidly changing society. To develop an innovative framework of science textbooks, we examined previous studies on textbook analysis in Korea and analyzed science textbooks in the United States, Singapore, and Japan. We analyzed various ways of introducing and developing conceptual knowledge, leading scientific inquiry skills and process, enhancing scientific attitudes toward science, technology, society and the environment in those science textbooks. In the process of framing the structures of textbooks, we focused on ways of increasing educational effects of visualized texts, leaners' interest, user-friendly procedure, scientific inquiry, effectiveness of hands-on activities, scientific reading and writing skills, and usage of workbook. Based on those aspects and analyses of textbooks, we attempted to propose a feasible framework of Grade $3{\sim}4$ Science textbook which can effectively respond to the educational changes and demands in the local and global society.

The goal of this study is to suggest various improvements and expanding strategies of the public library ecosystem. For this goal, researcher reviewed and analyzed the realistic landscapes and social recognitions about the public library ecosystem as local public goods, and discoursed the basic principles and structural terrain of public library ecosystem based on natural ecosystem. As a result, researcher proposed multifaceted alternatives (ensure library's identity and publicity applying Law of Karma, strengthen librarian's professionalism on the premise of overcoming the Minerva's syndrome, optimize the library service and collection management based on the Pareto principle, reduce reading room and differentiated program through resolution of Halo effect, eliminate usage bias by life cycle based on the Gauss distribution, acceptance of the digital paradigm and use-friendly spatialization that ruminates the Icarus paradox, incorporate small library into public library system through a clear understanding of the Gresham's law, and enforce communication and spread social and cultural value through the practice of the Pompeii paradox).

The purpose of this study is to propose a plan for future developments of the Korean language textbooks for overseas by conducting the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) of the Korean language textbooks for overseas. For this purpose, this study analyse and evaluate the Korean language textbooks for overseas and the researches for developing Korean language textbooks for overseas. In this study, we have the IPA of the Korean language textbooks from the total of 158 surveys that were collected from teachers who teach Korean at King Sejong Institute and overseas university. The survey conducted about the Korean textbooks regarding the following questionnaires: 1) integrated and separated textbooks, 2) textbooks by learners' variables, 3) teaching materials by media type, 4) supplementary teaching materials, 5) diffusion and support of textbooks. The result of this survey found that supporting for the separated textbooks is needed, and there is a high demand for localized textbooks considering local characteristics. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that King Sejong Institute has a high demand for textbooks that can be downloaded from the web despite most of institutes are highly satisfied with paper textbooks. For the supplementary textbooks, it was found that vocabulary learning materials were needed for the King Sejong school students and additional reading materials for overseas college learners needed to be developed. We also found that it is necessary to support not only the development of textbooks but also smooth and efficient diffusion.

This study investigates the operation status of Special Schools' School Library and suggests policy implications after comparing with the School Library. As a result of the study, compared with general schools by region and school establishment, special schools are lacking in collection, budget, reading seats and usage. The number of collections per student in special schools is 57.9, the number of loans is 10.8, while the number of general schools is 96.7 and 29.6. The budget is about 30% of general schools, more than 90% of general schools have more than 20 seats, while Special Schools are only 75 (42.9%). There is not one volume of use compared to the collection. There are 47 schools (26.8%) with specialized staff, and only 20 schools have librarian licenses. Therefore, in order to revitalize the school library of special schools, it is necessary to cooperate with related organizations with disabilities in the local community, to expand collections, to have professional librarians and to improve the facilities environment.

Public libraries provide information and cultural programs based on various collections as an information and culture hub in local communities. This study analyzed the cases of cultural programs of public libraries in the United States on "Programing Librarian," a website operated by the American Library Association to identify the trend of library programs. As a result of the analysis, the traditional program types such as hobbies, culture, and reading are major program types, but the new types as society and life are also appearing. New types of program activities such as social activities and experiences are also identified. In addition, it was analyzed that the tendency to effectively operate cultural programs with minimal cost is also occurring in the United States. As a marketing channel, Facebook was the most preferred method of promoting cultural programs.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the status of e-books usage in small university library and to suggest implications for e-book management policies. To do that, a survey was conducted with students in a local small university, and the valid responses of 259 people were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the preference of paper books (71%) was higher than that of e-books (12%). However, satisfaction with e-books (45.6%) was higher than that of paper books (27.9%) if they had experience using e-books. In addition, satisfaction was highest when using e-books for general reading, and it was found that the use device preferred to use a tablet. Based on the results of this study, we proposed some suggestions; 1) establishment of e-books service policy and promotion plan, 2) use of e-books dedicated devices and development of user-friendly e-books using environment, 3) providing various topics of e-books, 4) formation of an association for joint use of e-books between small library universities.

The purpose of this study is to suggest strategies to improve and revitalize public small libraries established and operated by local governments among small libraries in Yangpyeong-gun. For this purpose, basic factors to be considered for the analysis of the current situation were derived by examining the policies and prior studies of small libraries. Based on these factors, the operation status of the public small libraries were analyzed, and interviews were conducted with the itinerant libertarians and staffs. As a result of the analysis, the main problems were the deterioration of a building, the lack of manpower and expertise, and the collection and program that did not reflect regional characteristics. In this study, we suggested a revitalization strategy such as improvement of the operating system, development of community-focused life-friendly libraries, reinforcement of manpower and expertise, development of book collections and reading culture programs with regional specialization, and establishment of community networks.

Recently, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is increasing in the field of land information acquisition and terrain exploration through high-altitude aerial photography. High-altitude aerial photography is suitable for large-scale geographic information collection, but has the disadvantage that it is difficult to accurately collect small-scale geographic information. Therefore, this study used low-altitude UAV to monitor changes in small rural spaces around rural resources, and the results are as follows. First, the low-altitude aerial imagery had a very high spatial resolution, so it was effective in reading and analyzing topographic features. Second, an area with a large number of aerial images and a complex topography had a large amount of point clouds to be extracted, and the number of point clouds affects the three-dimensional quality of rural space. Third, 3D mapping technology using point cloud is effective for monitoring rural space and rural resources because it enables observation and comparison of parts that cannot be read from general aerial images. In this study, the possibility of rural space analysis of low-altitude UAV was verified through aerial photography and analysis, and the effect of 3D mapping on rural space monitoring was visually analyzed. If data acquired by low-altitude UAV are used in various forms such as GIS analysis and topographic map production it is expected to be used as basic data for rural planning to maintain and preserve the rural environment.

This study's purpose is to suggest ways to improve and revitalize public libraries' operations to reflect the Yangpyeong-gun community's characteristics. To this end, the Yangpyeong-gun region's characteristics and the current state of public library operation were analyzed, and a survey was conducted targeting Yangpyeong-gun residents (library users and nonusers). Additionally, interviews were conducted to investigate the library's operating status and limitations and librarians' perceptions of library revitalization plans. As a result of the analysis, in Yangpyeong-gun, improvement points such as library operation improvement and library accessibility improvement reflecting local community changes such as urban development, population change, manpower and collections expansion, complex cultural space strengthening, reading culture programs, and user services were derived.
