In this paper, we propose a new storage system architecture called as U-Storage (ubiquitous storage system). U-Storage allows a user to access an on-line storage with any type of information devices that are able to connect to internet. The on-line storage is virtualized to the user's information devices as a local hard disk or a memory card by our U-Storage. With devices supporting U-Storage, users can read and write their data anytime and anywhere without downloading and uploading operation.
This paper is a preliminary attempt at making sense of the increasingly common use of the term ASEAN Studies as interchangeable with, or as replacement for the older and more established counterpart. It speculates on whether this development represents the beginning among local people of "owning" the region, as well as whether this forms part of the continuing effort to wrest the initiative or control of knowledge production in and about Southeast Asia.
Astrophysical shocks accelerate particles to high velocities, which we observe as cosmic rays. The acceleration process changes the nature of the shock because the particles interact with the local magnetic field, removing energy and potentially triggering instabilities. In order to simulate this process, we need a computational method that can handle large scale structures while, at the same time, following the motion of individual particles. We achieve this by combining the grid magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) method with the particle-in-cell (PIC) approach. MHD can be used to simulate the thermal gas that forms the majority of the gas near the shock, while the PIC method allows us to model the interactions between the magnetic field and those particles that deviate from thermal equilibrium. Using this code, we simulate shocks at various sonic and Alfvenic Mach numbers in order to determine how the behaviour of the shock and the particles depends on local conditions.
In the present numerical simulation of viscous free surface flow around a ship, two-fluids in-compressible Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the standard $\textsc{k}-\varepsilon$turbulence model are discretized on a regular grid by using a finite volume method. A local level-set method is introduced for capturing the free surface movement and the influence of the viscous layer and dynamic boundary condition of the free surface are implicitly considered. Partial differential equations in the level-set method are discretized with second order ENO scheme and explicit Euler scheme in the space and time integration, respectively. The computational results for the Series-60 model with $C_B=0.6$ show a good agreement with the experimental data, but more validation studies for commercial complicated hull forms are necessary.
Persistence homology (a type of methodology in computational algebraic topology) can be used to capture the topological characteristics of functional data. To visualize the characteristics, a persistence diagram is adopted by plotting baseline and the pairs that consist of local minimum and local maximum. We use the bottleneck distance to measure the topological distance between two different functions; in addition, this distance can be applied to multidimensional scaling(MDS) that visualizes the imaginary position based on the distance between functions. In this study, we use handwriting data (which has functional forms) to get persistence diagram and check differences between the observations by using bottleneck distance and the MDS.
Conformational flexibilities of the GlcNAc(β1,3)Gal(β)OMe are investigated through NMR spectroscopy and molecular modeling. Adiabatic energy map generated with a dielectric constant of 50 contains three local minima. All of the molecular dynamics simulations on three local minimum energy structures show fluctuations between two low energy structures, N2 at φ=80° and ψ=60° and N3 at φ=60° and ψ=-40°. We have presented adequate evidences to state that GlcNAc(β1,3)Gal(β)OMe exists in two conformationally discrete forms. Two state model of N2 and N3 conformers with a population ratio of 40:60 is used to calculate the effective cross relaxation rate and reproduces the experimental NOEs very well. Molecular dynamics simulation in conjunction with two state model proves successfully the dynamic equilibrium existed in GlcNAc(β1,3)Gal(β)OMe and can be considered as a powerful method to analyze the motional properties in the structure of carbohydrate. This observation also cautions against the indiscriminate use of a rigid model to analyze NMR data.
Let I be an ideal of a commutative Noetherian semi-local ring R and M be an R-module. It is shown that if dim M ≤ 2 and SuppR M ⊆ V (I), then M is I-weakly cofinite if (and only if) the R-modules HomR(R/I, M) and Ext1R(R/I, M) are weakly Laskerian. As a consequence of this result, it is shown that the category of all I-weakly cofinite modules X with dim X ≤ 2, forms an Abelian subcategory of the category of all R-modules. Finally, it is shown that if dim R/I ≤ 2, then for each pair of finitely generated R-modules M and N and each pair of the integers i, j ≥ 0, the R-modules TorRi(N, HjI(M)) and ExtiR(N, HjI(M)) are I-weakly cofinite.
Purpose: As an administrative organization that directly affects the safety and livelihood of the people, local governments are important to ensure the continuity of key functions in the event of a disaster. The purpose of this study is to review effective methods for establishing and implementing a continuity of operations plan to protect and maintain the key functions of local governments. Method: In order to improve the inefficiency of the ISO22301-based continuity of operation plan, applying the organizational-oriented functional continuity method and set up the planning method, key functions, required resources, and basic education and training forms, and apply to local governments and review their feasibility. Result: The proposed organization-oriented continuity of operation plan preparation method reflects the characteristics of bureaucratic local governments and makes it easy to prepare and apply in practice. Conclusion: Compared to the private sector, in the public sector, where work is organization-oriented, it can be a more efficient way to fully reflect the organizational point of view in establishing a continuity of Opertaions plan.
This study notices that all religions in Central Asia from the fourth century through seventh century C.E. provided considerable hands in keeping a uniform unity through a process of assimilation, although art and architecture were greatly stimulated by the creative genius of the many people. The study thus intends to argue that the common ideas of rituals and primitive forms of religious shrines lead the square-based layout of Buddhist shrines the unity and universality in the architectural products of particular regions or epochs: i.e. the "square-based plan" in Buddhist temples of Central Asia was a significant prototype in the synthesis with pre-Buddhist architectural models and Buddhist universal ideas. Thus, this thesis notes that they did not lose the universal principles of the Buddhist shrine plans due to ritual functions, and even there have been never differences from pre-Buddhist building models remarked by the periods and the venues in which they were produced, although there had been continuous evolutions and adaptive transformations in the local tastes of religious architecture. Accordingly, this study discusses how such plans in Buddhist architecture had been consistently produced within that regional style also representative of the local idioms of architecture, and how they were adopted in the sites, founded on the composition of ritual functions. The foreign architectural cultures were selectively chosen getting along with local building types of each site according to each taste for architecture as a result.
Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the use and patterns of health care resources of local patients and to analyze the health seeking behaviors focusing on shopping around phenomenon. Methods : Questionnaires on the use of health institution were developed and administered to the residents in Yangsan city, Korea. We selected patients who were suffering from any diseases two months and over. Patients' health seeking behaviors were categorized, and the factors for selecting health institutions in each visiting stages were analyzed. Results : 139 local patients participated in the survey, and 130 completed questionnaires were analyzed. We found that there were sixty eight different types of medical utilization paths. The most frequent path was 'western clinics ${\rightarrow}$ Korean medicine hospitals or clinics ${\rightarrow}$ western clinics'. Only 6 patients started at Korean medicine, however, 16 patients(12.3%) finalized their treatment at Korean medicine hospitals or clinics. In most health seeking stages, patients tended to select health resources by their own decisions, and the geographic factor was the key reason to select health resources. Conclusions : Patients had not any stable forms to treat with their diseases, and we observed diversified patterns in the health seeking behaviors of patients, a typical shopping around phenomenon.
