In this study, a total of 25 lines consisting of five native ginseng collections from Poonggi area, five lines from Geumsam area and 15 varieties were analyzed and clustered for the selection of Poonggi native ginseng in Korea using DNA markers. The results indicated that the long cluster distance were observed between the collections of 331002, 331004, 331005, 331007 and 331026 from Poonggi area, and the collections of 332009, 332021, 332046, 332050 and 332066 from Geumsan area because of the sensible differences on the number of leaves per stem, stem color and petiole color. Thus, the collections from Poonggi area with specific characters consisting of one stem per plant, five leaves per stem and broad elliptic leaflet shape were finely classified using nine primers including OPD05, OPD20, OPG17, OPH05 and so on. In this study, the collection of 331007 from Poonggi area was considered as the respective collection with above characters. Thus, the nine primers such as OPD05 and so on, will be used to select the Poonggi ginseng in the future studies.
Objectives : The purpose of this study on the oral health behavior of foreign workers and dental care in the community is to identify actual oral health conditions of immigrated labors, to promote their oral health and to gather basic data providing them with proper oral health services Methods : Based on previous studies, The researchers wrote their own surveys in English, in Vietnamnese, in Tagalogue, in Thai. Making questions on the paper to 114 foreign workers in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do were surveyed. Using the program SPSS 17.0 for Windows, the collected data were analyzed. The frequency analysis, the chi-square analysis and the correlation analysis was performed to recognize their relevance between the oral health status and the actual oral care and the subjective perception of oral health. Results : General characteristics of the foreign workers is the overwhelming majority of male demographic 78.9%. By age, 20-29 years of age accounted for 50%, and duration of stay in the city is less than 3-5 years to 68.4%, It was most common. The percentage going to the dentist when teeth hurt is although 56 percent. But the ratio to endure the pain without going to the dentist, was 44%. The main reason to not go to the dentist was the time 55.2% and cost 11.9%. A mere 9.6% of respondents knew about the free dental care and used. 67.5% of them was not aware of the free dental care agency, 59.6% were keen to use the free care. However, 40.4% did not want a free dental care because they did not have the time(26.3%), the distance is far away(3.5%), and difficulties in communication(3.5%) and the other(66.7%). Conclusions : The major percentage of the other reason(66.7%) why they did not want to go to free dental service, must be specifically identified. For the activation of free dental services, the active support of central and local governments is needed. In Korea, local governments have decided the location of shelters as part of their disaster planning. However, no quantitative standards, such as assuming different hazard and shelter types, shelters' capacity, are specified in that planning. To propose the direction of disaster evacuation policy, first of all, the current state of shelters' location and evacuation area is needed to be analyzed. In addition, considering topographical condition such as road slope and physical strength by age are important factors to measure optimal evacuation route. The purpose is to suggest a new methodology of estimating optimal evacuation route considering resistance of road slope and difference of walking speed by age. Moreover, as a case study of Seoul, Korea, using coverage analysis of GIS analysis tool, the accessible area (or vulnerable area) to the shelters is evaluated based on the spatial distribution of disaster evacuation shelters and their accommodation capacity, according to evacuation time within 7.5, 15 and 30 minutes. The main results are summarized as follows: 1) The average area of disaster evacuation shelter per person is calculated as 0.45 square meters. Considering that the minimum shelters' area per person is 1 square meters, only 45% of people in Seoul can be accommodated. 2) The ratio of inhabitants who live in accessible area within 7.5 minutes presents only 33% of all. Furthermore, the ratio of inhabitants by age group of 5~9 or over 65 years old shows significantly lower percentage in comparison with 15~49 years old people.

Road facilities for safe driving were designed for drivers to distinguish them during day and night, but they cannot play their role when the weather becomes worse. Recently, the road facilities have been designed by using electric and electronic technology so that they can be displayed well at a long distance, but they should be replaced very often due to their frequent breakdown. So, there are many problems in traffic calming and maintenance. In this study, to solve the above problems, semi-permanent LED beacon light was installed in the area where traffic accident are frequent, and monitoring system was developed so that the LED beacon light can be maintenanced by connecting with system. For the above installation and development, system was based on window operating system and it was developed for worker to operate it by using P.C. through connecting with wireless local area network. The result of this study led to analyzing state information on the battery of field-installed LED beacon light in real time, and manegement to effectively by predicting their life cycle.

Government introduces a Total Maximum Daily Loads(TMDL) which can be implemented for total pollutant amounts in 2004. Normally, the local governments have been calculated the amounts of pollutant discharge of each watershed using a water quality model. However, among the input data to use the water quality model, creating a schematic diagram of the stream or the modeling usually requires considerable amount of time and efforts due to the manual work. Therefore, this study tried to develop an algorithm which automates the creation of a schematic diagram for water quality modeling using the Korean Reach File capable of river network analysis. Further, this study creates a schematic diagram with the shape of a stream utilizing GIS capabilities. The diagram can be easily analyzed with overlapping various spatial information such as pollution sources and discharge points. This study mainly has automated element segmentation algorithm to divide streamflows into equal distance using line graphic data of Koran Reach File. Also, automated attribute input algorithm has also been developed to enable to insert element order and type into elements using point graphic data of Korean Reach File. For the verification of the developed algorithm, the algorithm was applied to kyungan stream basin to see the acceptable results. To conclude, it was possible to automate generating of schematic diagram of water quality model and it is expected to be able to save time and cost required for the water modeling. In future study, it is necessary to develop an automatic creation system of various types of input data for water quality modeling and this will lead to relatively easier and simple water quality modeling.

To detect vehicles in image, first the image is transformed with the steerable pyramid which has independent directions and levels. Feature vectors are the collection of filter responses at different scales of a steerable image pyramid. For the detection of vehicles in image, feature vectors in feature points of the vehicle image is used. First the feature points are selected with the grid points in vehicle image that are evenly spaced, and second, the feature points are comer points which m selected by human, and last the feature points are corner Points which are selected in grid points. Next the feature vectors of the model vehicle image we compared the patch of the test images, and if the distance of the model and the patch of the test images is lower than the predefined threshold, the input patch is decided to a vehicle. In experiment, the total 11,191 vehicle images are captured at day(10,576) and night(624) in the two local roads. And the $92.0\%$ at day and $87.3\%$ at night detection rate is achieved.

We report on a low-cost V-band wireless transceiver with no use of any local oscillator in the receiver block using a self-heterodyne architecture. V-band millimeter-wave monolithic IC (MMIC) modules were developed to demonstrate the wireless transceiver using coplanar waveguide (CPW) and GaAs PHEMT technologies. The MMIC modules such as the MMIC low noise amplifier (LNA), medium power amplifier (MPA) and the up/down-mixer were installed in the transceiver system. To interface the MMIC chips with the component modules for the transceiver system, CPW-to-waveguide fin-line transition modules of WR-15 type were designed and fabricated. The fabricated LNA modules showed a $S_{21}$ gain of 8.4 dB and a noise figure of 5.6 dB at 58 GHz. The MPA modules exhibited a gain of 6.9 dB and a $P_{1dB}$ of 5.4 dBm at 58 GHz. The conversion losses of the up-mixer and the down-mixer module were 14.3 dB at a LO power of 15 dBm, and 19.7 dB at a LO power of 0 dBm, respectively. From the measurement of V-band wireless transceiver, a conversion gain of 0.2 dB and a $P_{1dB}$ of 5.2 dBm were obtained in the transmitter block. The receiver block showed a conversion gain of 2.1 dB and a $P_{1dB}$ of -18.6 dBm. The wireless transceiver system demonstrated a successful data transfer within a distance of 5 meters.

This paper proposes a method for vehicle license plate detection using mathematical morphology and symmetry. In general, the shape, color, size, and position of license plate are regulated by authorities for a better recognition by human. Among them, the relatively big intensity difference between the letter and the background region of the license plate and the symmetry about the plate are major discriminating factors for the detection. For the first, the opened image is subtracted from the closed image to intensify the region of plate using the rectangular structuring element which has the width of the distance between two characters. Second the subtraction image is average filtered with the mask size of the plate. Third, the column maximum graph of the average filtered image is acquired and the symmetry of the graph is measured at every position. Fourth, the peaks of the average filtered image are searched. Finally, the plate is assumed to be positioned around the one of local maxima nearest to the point of the highest symmetry. About 1,000 images taken by speed regulation camera are used for the experiment. The experimental result shows that the plate detection rate is about 93%.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical features and complications of snake bite patients in urban and rural areas. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on patients over 18 years of age who were hospitalized for snake bites from January 2013 to December 2019. Patients were categorized into urban and rural groups according to their respective locations at the time of the snake bite and the clinical characteristics and complications of the two patient groups were researched and compared. Results: Of the 77 snake bite patients, 44 patients were categorized into the rural group (57.1%). The rura1 group showed significant differences in old age (p=0.011), delayed hospital visits (p=0.010), far hospital distance (p<0.001), high local effect score (p<0.001), high traditional snake-bite severity grading scale (p=0.008) and use of large amounts of antivenins (p=0.026). There was a significantly higher incidence of acute kidney injury (p=0.030), rhabdomyolysis (p=0.026), and coagulopathy (p=0.033) in the rural group as well as a longer hospitalization period (p<0.011). Conclusion: Snake bites that occurred in rural areas resulted in patients with more complications compared to urban areas due to farther distances from hospitals, causing a delay in antivenom treatment.

An impacted tooth is defined pathologically as a tooth that remains under the mucosa of inside bone without eruption of the crown after a specific period of eruption. Clinically, the term includes those teeth, even before eruption period, that are not expected to erupt due to shape, position and alignment of tooth and lack of space. Canine is prone to impaction more than other teeth because it has the longest time to develop and a complex route from the place of formation to the site of eruption. The impaction incidence of maxillary canine is repoted 0.92$\sim$3.3% (Ferguson, 1990). In 1995 Orton reported that the incidence was 0.92$\sim$2.2% and palatal impaction was more frequent than labial impaction(85%:15%). In 1969 Johnston presented it was more common to woman than to man(3:1). The etiology includes systemic disease such as endocrine disorder, cleidocranial dysostosis, irradiation, Crouzon syndrome, ricketts, facial hemihypertrophy and hereditary and local problems such as ectopic position of the tooth, distance of tooth from its place of eruption, malformation of the tooth, presence of supernumerary teeth, trauma of tooth germ, infection of tooth germ, displacement of tooth germ or tooth by a neoplasm, ankylosis, overretention of deciduous predecessor, lack of space for the tooth in the dental arch and mucosal barrier due to gingival fibrosis. The maxillary canine is especially important as it has the longest root, provides guidance for lateral movement of the mandible and masticatory function and assumes an important role esthetically as it is located at mouth angle. If left untreated, it may cause migration and external, internal resorption of adjacent teeth, loss of arch length, formation of dentigerous cyst or tumors, infection and referred pain as well as malposition of the tooth. Therefore, periodic examination of the development and eruption of the maxillary canine is especially important in a growing child. This case study presents the results of treatment of palatally impacted maxillary canine utilizing surgical exposure and orthodontic tooth movement on patients visiting SNUDH dept. of pediatric dentistry.
