This study investigates the impact of female consumer self-image on pursued fashion style. A survey was carried out among 717 women between the ages of 20 and 60 living in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi. Analysis was conducted in the following manner: SPSS 18.0 was used to perform an Exploratory Factor Analysis (descriptive analysis, principal factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, frequency analysis, and reliability analysis) and AMOS 21.0 was used to carry out a Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Based on a Structure Equation Model, results show that ideal self-image and realistic self-image, which are factors derived from psychology, affect pursued fashion style. By contrast, social self-image - derived from social contexts - does not. Therefore, the female consumers' self-image influences pursued fashion style; this is opposed to the relationship between the realistic self-image and ideal self-image of women, which is more unconscious and self-satisfying. The presented results indicate that we should respond to changes in the fashion industry and develop a deeper understanding of consumer niches to discover the factors that predict purchasing behavior. This knowledge can then be applied to establish market strategies. This study contributes to the literature by producing preliminary data that can help support such strategy formulation in the fashion and clothing industry.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship to the life-style, perceived time pressure and time management strategies of married women. The research issues are as follow : 1. How are Life-styles influence to the perceived time pressure according to employment status of marraged women? 2. How are life-styles influence to the time manegement strategies according to employment status of marraged women? 3. How much are the effect of life-style, perceived time pressure and the rest of variable on the time management strategies of marraged women? For the purpose of this study, 585 questionnaire were distributed to marraged women living in pusan. The data were analyzed by statistical methods such as Pearson's correlation, percentage, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The significant results are as follow : 1. According to the employment status, there were several differences among those life-styles which are influencing to the perceived time pressure. 2. According to the employment status, there were differences among those life-styles which are influencing to the time management strategies. 3. Independent variables about the time management strategies of married women showed life-style(B=.46), age(B=-.18), income(B=.15), perceived time pressure(B=.12). education level(B=.07). The results of this study can be attributed to develop the efficient strategy of reducing perceived time pressure of marraged women.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of eyeshadow color(brown, purple), lipstick color(red, red purple, and yellow red), and lipstick tone(vivid, light, dull, and dark), clothing style(formal, casual), clothing tone(N9, N7, N4, N2) on image formation. Sets of stimulus and response scales(7 point semantic) were used as experimental materials. The stimuli were 128 color pictures manipulated with the combination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color, lipstick tone, clothing style, and clothing tone using computer simulation. The subjects were 768 female undergraduates living in Gyeongnam-do. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 5 different components, attractiveness, stability, cuteness, visibility, and tenderness. In the 5 image components, clothing style and clothing tone showed independent effect. In the stability, cuteness and visibility, lipstick color showed independent effect. Eyeshadow color and lipstick tone influenced independently on the attractiveness, stability and visibility. In the coordination of achromatic clothing with makeup face, attractiveness image by the coordination of lipstick tone with clothing tone, cuteness image by the coordination of lipstick tone with clothing style or clothing style with clothing tone, visibility image can be produced by the coordination of eyeshadow color with lipstick color.
The purpose of this study is to analyze style and usage of furniture for rural house and to organize the changing process of the furniture. The data were collected from 32 residences in Samga 3-ri village in Youngin Kyungkido by field survey measuring and sketching the furniture were also performed as a supplement of investigation. Qualitative analysis were done by discriptive method. 1) It was found that the major furniture for rural household were storing furniture such as wardrobes, blanket chests, drawer chests, cupboards until 1976. The time when the supportive furniture such as sofa sets and dining sets were purchased on the rural area was after late 1970's. 2) The style of the furniture was investigated through the analysis of the size, material, structure, finishing and ornamentation. The changing process of style was from luxurious look to natural look. Therefore the storing furniture of the rural household showed a state of transition between traditional and modern style. 3) As a result of analyzing the place where the furniture were used, the cupboards showed to move from Marus (the living room area) to Buauks (the kitchens). The wardrobes were mainly used in An-Bangs(the master bedrooms) and Kuhnnun-Bangs(the room opposite the master bedrooms), but the style of those wardrobes were different each other.
Nowadays the increasing improvement of quality of life have been required more diversified housing environment. And it also focused on concern about Korean traditional housing style, Hanok. There were several studies applied to traditional style design on Hanok. but few on Hanokstyle apartment. So the purpose of this study were to identify the consumer awareness on Hanok style apartment plan and its design details. The research were done by questionnaire methode. It were distributed to 130 city and rural residents. 109 questionnaires were analyzed by frequency, Percentage, $x^2$-test, F-test, ANOVA, t-test, and factor analysis. The major results were as follows. First, 70% of respondents revealed their intention to live in Hanokstyle housing if it has improved conveniency and lowered maintenance expenses. Second, they preferred under 5 story row house type or apartment type Hanok located in suburbs. Third, Hanokstyle apartment characteristics were expected to have visual openness, good view, traditional decor, functional, rhythmical and transitional space. And also they wanted traditional Madang(inner garden) and Maru(a wooden floor room) located next to living room.
Pinson Hall is a dormitory building of Chosen Christian College, built in 1922, and it still remains comparatively well preserved as original form. This building is worthy in that it shows the living space of western style college in Korea, as well as characteristics of collegiate gothic style and building technology, designed by western architect in 1920s. At first, based on literate review and field survey, this study aims to trace the construction background and process of Pinson Hall, and find out its architectural characteristics with the original form when it is used as dormitory. Additionally, it deals with historic meaning and value of Pinson Hall as a modern western style college dormitory, through comparison with other dormitories in the same era. In conclusion, Pinson Hall is a Western style dormitory which allows students to accustom themselves to Western life style, using bed and desk, as well as it shows the new building technology in the early 1920s which has mixture of masonry and reinforced concrete structure.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of the sensation seeking and body image on female adolescents' clothing behavior and hair style attitude. The data was collected from 390 high school girls living in Seoul, via a self·administered questionnaires, and were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, reliability test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression. The results of this study was as follows : 1) Three factors of body images were self appearance evaluation, appearance orientation and fitness orientation. Five factors of clothing attitudes were fashion/clothing interest, clothing exhibition, social approval, psychological dependence on clothing and fashion leadership. And three factors of hair style attitudes were interest in hair style, individuality in hair style and dependency on hair designer. 2) As the result of analyzing the effects of sensation seeking and body image on clothing behavior, fashion/clothing interest was explained by appearance orientation and fitness orientation, and clothing exhibition by sensation seeking and appearance orientation, and social approval by appearance orientation, self appearance evaluation and body cathexis, and fashion leadership by appearance orientation, fitness orientation and self appearance evaluation, and clothing conformity to the self-entertainer by appearance orientation, sensation seeking and fitness orientation, and appearance related delinquency by sensation seeking, appearance orientation, fitness orientation, self appearance evaluation. 3) As the result of analyzing the effects of sensation seeking and body image on hair style attitudes, interest in hair style was explained by the factors such as appearance orientation, sensation seeking, fitness orientation, and body cathexis, and individuality in hair style by appearance orientation, sensation seeking and self appearance evaluation, and dependency on hair designer by body cathexis.
Each ethnic group has a different cultural background and has developed its own culture in the name of a tradition. The interaction between different cultures is ever increasing through the process of acculturation or culture contact The purpose of this study is to provide baseline information about domestic living of Korean immigrants in Australia and Australians for a larger cross-cultural study project. As the first step, the usage of domestic space and seating styles of 52 Korean households in Melbourne were analyzed. Ethnographic research was conducted, utilizing a questionnaire. The findings of this research are as follows: 1. The most popular type of Living-Dining-Kitchen arrangement was the one which the kitchen is separated from the living and dining area. The level of satisfaction was the highest when the living room, dining room, and kitchen were all separated. 2. A laundry room was indispensable for Koreans in Australia, and they wanted to dry laundry and do ironing in there. Most people were satisfied with the toilet separated from the bathroom A drain hole on the floor of the bathroom was not indispensable for most Korean-Australians. 3. Korean-Australians tend to engage in various activities in their individual rooms, and they estimated that the size of most rooms were small. They also wanted to renovate the house to expand the rooms. 4. The seating style of Korean-Australians was mostly chair-seating. Yet, they often made beds on the floor for guests, and made kimchi sitting on the floor. Also, when they were relaxing, they were using both chair-seating and floor-seating. 5. Korean-Australians were not very satisfied with the use of floor carpets because of the dust collected on the carpets, and the difficulty to clean. It may be related to their preferred floor seating style, as well. 6. Almost all Korean-Australians take off their shoes inside of the house for hygienic reasons. They had a shoes cabinet at the entrance inside of the house. 7. The most popular heating system was ducted heating. The level of satisfaction about this was moderate because hot air contains lots of dust and it makes rooms very dry. Many were using electric blankets and their desired heating system was Ondol (heated floor). 8. Korean-Australians thought that the living room was the most important place for the family, and believed it should be decorated well to entertain guests. They also pointed out that the lighting was not bright enough in general.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the state of Goryoin housing in Uzbekistan and Korea. Using ethnographic methodologies, it was examined that 20 Goryoin households in Korea in relation to their usage of housing space firstly and also tried 20 Goryoin households in Uzbekistan with the same method. The following conclusion were established; 1). The majority of households in both areas preferred separated kitchen and living room areas. 2). Most households in both areas had a washing machine in bathroom and they regarded bathtub and the drain hole of the bathroom as very necessary. They all preferred separate bathroom and toilet areas in order to allow simultaneous use. 3). Their preferred seating style was chairs on sleeping and eating especially but they treated large family and guest without chairs in both areas. 4). All of them were took their shoes off and wore slippers at home usually and also had a preference for designated shoes space at the entrance to the house. 5) All of households in Uzbekistan and half of them in Korea had a carpet or mat in the bedroom or living room, both for keeping warm and aesthetic reasons. 6). The heating system of apartment in Uzbekistan was radiator and most of private houses had a modified Ondol with radiator but their preferred heating system was modified Ondol in both areas. 7). They all considered the living room as the most important housing space for family and guest in both areas.
Recently, the space organization of Korean-Chinese houses is different from that of other territories. The characteristics of eating and dinning space for Korean-Chinese Multi-family Housing are as follows ; ⅰ) The most obvious change in Korean-Chinese urban housing style was seen in kitchen space, which can be classify three types such as traditional type, improved type, and LDK type on the bases of heating and cooking method. ⅱ) Special feature of Korean-Chinese housing in Yanji city was that kitchen fulfilled important functions such as heating, cooking, dinning, sleeping, bathing and washing. Since then, each function was separated and functions of kitchen were cut down after all. iii) The arrangement of kitchen space have changeed according to the change of heating fuel, heating system, equipment, relatcd policy, etx. Multi-function kitchen discovered only in Yanji had lasted until 1980's by equipping heating floor system, which is suitable for sit-down living style. In 1990's, this kitchen style was prohibited legally, and the balcony area of kitchen widened due to the abolition of outdoor storehouse for foodstuff.
