  • Diseases in the gastro-intestinal track are on an increasing trend. In order to diagnose a patient, the various signals of the digestive organ, such as temperature, pH, and pressure, can offer the helpful information. Among the above mentioned signals, we choose the pressure variation as a monitoring signal. The variation of a pressure signal of the gastro-intestinal track can offer the information of a digestive trouble or some clues of the diseases. In this paper, a pressure monitoring system for the digestive organs of a living pig is presented. This system concept is to transmit the measured biomedical signals from a transmitter in a living pig to wireless receiver that is positioned out of body. The integrated solution includes the following parts: (1) the swallow type pressure capsule, (2) the receiving set consisting of a receiver, decoder box, and PC. The merit of the proposed system if that the monitoring system can supply the precise and repeatable pressure in the gastro-intestinal track. In addition, the design of low power consumption enables it to keep sending reliable signals while the pressure capsule is working in the digestive organ. The subject of the study for the pressure monitoring system is in-vivo experiments for a living pig. We achieved the pressure tracings in digestive organs and verified the validity of system after several in-vivo tests using pressure monitoring system. As a result, we found each organ has its own characterized pressure fluctuation.

  • Analysis of four microsatellite markers from Mud Crab Scylla serrata revealed that there is high level of genetic diversity within this species. Genetic diversity of S. serrata was calculated using allele diversity, observed heterozygosity, expected heterozygosity (Het-exp), polymorphic information content, gene differentiation and Nei's $D_{A}$ distance. Mean polymorphic information content value was 0.797, which reflected high level of polymorphism across the loci of S. serrata. The Palau population has the highest genetic diversity (Het-exp=0.871), while the Kosrae population has the lowest genetic diversity (Hetexp=0.806). However, the geographical genetic distance among S. serrata populations from Yab, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, and Palau were low (0.2009${\sim}$0.3350). These results suggest that despite their wide distribution, S. serrata are no different in geographical genetic diversity within the five sampled locations.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the general tendencies and casual relations of demographic variables, consumer alienation, materialism and impulse buying among college students. Three hundred and forty one undergraduate students in Daejeon were participated in this study. Factor analysis, Multiple regression and Path analysis were used as statistical analysis. The major findings are as follows: 1. Consumer alienation of college students was divided into 4 types such as Powerlessness, Meaningless, Normlessness, Cultural Estrangement. The overall level of consumer alienation was 3.36. Normlessness(M=3.70) was the highest, and the lowest was powerlessness(M=2.82). Consumer alienation was influenced by gender, age, subjective level of living. Specifically, the lower the age and the subjective level of living were the higher meaningless and powerlessness respectively. And cultural estrangement was higher in male than female. However, normlessness was not affected by demographic variables. 2. The level of materialism of college students was relatively high(M=3.71). The materialism was affected by gender, age, allowance adequacy. 3. The level of impulse buying was higher than middle point(M=3.29). The results of path analysis showed that gender, age, allowance, allowance adequacy, socio-economic status, subjective level of living, powerlessness, materialism influence on impulse buying direct and indirect.

  • The purpose of this study is to present policy implications for the efficiency of child-friendly city creation through an empirical analysis of the relationship between variables related to the effectiveness of child-friendly city creation and the creation of child-friendly city. For this purpose, the difference between before and after the certification of child-friendly cities was analyzed for children of local governments certified as child-friendly cities. According to the analysis, the factors in the six major areas of child-friendly city creation do not significantly affect children's regional satisfaction, living satisfaction, and happiness. Based on these analysis results, the necessity of creating a child-friendly city and the direction related to the creation of a child-friendly city were presented. We also present the limitations of our research and future research challenges.

  • Local governments should try to resolve the inequality of living SOC (Social Overhead Capital) and construct spatial information on the location of living SOCs and optimal locations. This study analyzed the accessibility, equity, and optimal location of the living SOC, considering the research needs related to the living SOC. The target facility is core living facilities(a public library, a park, a culture center, and a public daycare center). The analysis area is Suwon city in Gyeonggi province, and the base year of the analysis is 2020. The study calculated accessibility per population in a microscopic neighborhood living area(200m×200m). The Gini coefficient was used to identify the regional disparity in accessibility among Dong regions. The optimal location was explored with the Maximal Covering Location Problem theory. As a result, spatial accessibility of facilities except for public daycare centers revealed a large gap between regions. Areas with excellent accessibility also showed significant variations in the facilities. The regional disparity in living SOC was the largest in culture centers, followed by parks, public daycare centers, and public libraries. The optimal locations for public libraries, parks, and culture centers are concentrated in the old downtown, while those of public daycare centers are found throughout Suwon city. The results of this study are the crucial contents of spatial planning for SOC supply in local governments. Therefore, follow-up studies will be able to refer to the analysis structure and results of the study.

  • This study investigates the reports about financial management and financial information needs in farm household, to development financial education program for farm household. The results were as follows: 1) Financial management was carried of husband (49%), husband and wife (31.0%) and wife (15.2%) 2) Farm households demand of financial information was selling for farm products(66.5%), farm management(65.1), keeping budget(52.6%) and consumer information(42.6%). 3) The variables (sex, age, Education, farming type) have statistically significant on test of financial knowledge. 4) On the basis of results, for the stabilization of rural economy it is necessary to maximize and stabilize the rural house hold income however, it is also necessary to educate the rural people by providing the ways and means to efficiently manage the income. Thus various financial management programs and educational resources should be developed and provided to the agriculture household finance managers and the instructors in Agricultural Technology Development Center. Specially, according to the financial knowledge test as the demand of financial information in the group of respondents who answered ‘don’t know’ is higher than the demand in the group of right or wrong answers it is quite urgent to develop and provide the financial education programs and financial resources for these people.

  • The objectives of this study were 1) to identity the living conditions of old women at rural area, 2) to inquire of the activities for extra income 3) to Provide information on the social service program development for old rural women. Data were collected by interview with the questionaire from 396 old rural women in Korea. In analyzing data, $x^2$-test has been produced by S A S program package at Rural Development Administration. The major results were as follows ; 1. The average age was 69.7years old of the subjects, illiteracy was 54.1%, widows was 58.6%, and the 18.4% of elderly have led a solitary life. Also, the degree of health care was very low. 2. The source of living costs in most old rural women lay on agricultural income. Also, because of the educational expenditure for their children, etc., they led to poverty, and then could not provide for their old age. 3. In spite of the 60.4% of the old women did farming, a lot of them wishes to have a side job. The reasons why they wish to do a side job were making money, spending their time in working, being proud before their children, etc.. 4. According as they rely on their husband, the eldest son and his wife, for the psychological, physical, economical support, their position among family was low. Therefore, only the 43.3% of old women were satisfied with their life. 5. Finally, in the result of this case study, the old women, who particpate in the extra income promoting program, were satisfied with their rural life, and their social position were high rather than elswhere.
