  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of perceived market influence, which is an important psychological factor influencing consumer behavior in the market, and explain how consumer beliefs related to the market can affect sustainable consumer behavior. First, this study found that gaps in perceived market influence were statistically significant for age and job. Second, environmental concern, organic food consumption (vegetables and meats), and purchase behavior of organic foods were found to be significantly different by degree of perceived market influence of consumers. The mean values were found to be high for the group having strong perceived market influence. This tendency suggests an association between higher perceived market influence consumers and more environmentally friendly consumer behavior. Lastly, this study used Structural Equation Modeling to analyze the effect of perceived market influence as a moderating variable and mediating variable on the relationship between environmental concerns and consumer behavior toward organic foods. The results show a mediating effect on perceived market influence, but a moderating effect could not be found. This result implies that perceived market influence might indirectly affect consumer behavior when transferring environmental concerns to consumer behavior toward organic foods.

  • The term stress is currently used to cover a wide variety of phenomena, ranging from physical to social and cultural factors. The term has defined psychological stress as an imbalance between perceived or subjective demand and perceived response capability. The behavior science model has provided the accident proneness through the life change unit factors considering human behavior, life style, ideas, culture, and psychological state. Therefore, this paper presents the Korean life change unit model through statistical testing with the proposed life change unit factors on the unmarried workers living in the middle area. The proposed model can be simply used in real fields in order to minimize the industrial accidents.

  • Purpose: The study was designed to identify influencing and mediating factors of health behaviors of stroke patients based on the hypothetical model constructed in this study. Methods: Non-experimental correlational research design was used. One hundred and five stroke patients were conveniently selected from one university hospital located in Incheon. Data were collected with survey and analyzed by path analysis to examine the significant influencing and mediating factors of health behaviors in stroke patients. Results: Age, diagnosis, disability in ADL, knowledge related to health behavior, and self-efficacy had significant direct causal influences on health behavior. And it was shown that knowledge and self-efficacy mediated influence of cohabitation status with family( whether or not living together with family) on health behavior. Self-efficacy also mediated influence of knowledge on health behavior. Conclusion: From the results, it was proposed that providing knowledge related to health behavior and enhancing self-efficacy by educating skill necessary for health behaviors and promoting health related beliefs might increase health behavior particularly for stroke patients living together with family.

  • This study examines the relationships between dietary self-efficacy, social support, depression, and weight-control behavior of children and adolescents. A total of 593 students (280 children and 313 adolescents) from schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Jeollabuk-do, and Daegu were surveyed using scales for dietary self-efficacy, social support, depression, and weight-control behavior. The data were analyzed through a frequency analysis, means and standard deviations, a t-test, a one-way ANOVA, the Tukey test, the Pearson's correlation, and a stepwise multiple regression analysis. According to the results, weight-control behavior was more likely in girls than boys, high-school students than elementary-school students, and obese/overweight students than normal/underweight students. The factors influencing children's weight-control behavior were general eating habits, the BMI, depression, food choice, and family support, in that order, and those influencing adolescents' weight-control behavior were general eating habits, gender, and the BMI, in that order. These results are expected to be useful as basic data for developing weight-control programs for children and adolescents.
