목초지의 환경요인에 따른 굼벵이의 발생양상 (Occurrence of White Grubs in Relation to Environmental Factors in Pasture)

  • 1 1985년 4월부터 10월까지 수원 축산시험장 목초지에서 목초지의 환경요인에 따른 굼벵이의 종류 및 발생량을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 목초지의 환경요인에 따른 굼벵이의 발생종규는 비슷하였으나 발생량에는 차이가 있었다. 1. 토성에 따라서는 식양토에서 고려노랑풍뎅이, 우찌다콩풍뎅이, 큰검정풍뎅이, 참검정풍뎅이 등이, 사양토에서는 애풍뎅이와 다색줄풍뎅이가 많이 발생 하였다. 2 목초에 따라서는 조사된 모든 종의 굼벵이가 화본과에서 월등히 많은 발생량을 보였는데 우찌다 콩풍뎅이만은 두과에서 발생량이 월등히 많았다. 3 목초지 활성연도에 따라서는 조사된 모든 종이 3년에서부터 발생량이 증가하여 5년에서 가장 많은 발생량을 보였다. 4 목초지 관리(이용) 방법에 따라서는 조사된 모든 종의 굼벵이가 채초지에서 발생량이 많았다.

농업인의 營農유형에 따른 健康管理 상태 (The Farmers′ health management status compared with different farming types)

  • This study was performed to suggest the health management of farmers compared with different farming types, such as rice plant, livestock, horticulture, orchard and others, for the farmer's health enhancement. For this study, 720 subjects were selected in 8 provinces through cluster method, and relevent caculations for the analysis of the subjects were made SAS program, and tested significance with x$^2$ and F value, those probability levels were 0.1%, 1% and 5%. Among the subjects, aged 40's were 38%, females 66%, elementary graduates (32%), and think of living conditions were average (67%). In the self-consciousness test for health, there was no significant difference of farmers with farming types. In the aspect of agricultural work situation, they took holidays according to the weather conditions or no pressed work to be done. And They took a break “when they feel tired during work”. For the recovery of fatigue, sleeping was chosen as the most favorite (68%) followed bathing (17%). but exercise was the lowest (7%). In the case of working conditions, 74% of them replied they work under average condition, and only 9% of them thought they were under pleasant surroundings. And 37% of them have had healthy food, for health practice and restorative for health. 20% of them have had breakfast irregularly. In addition to the regular meal intake, sufficient re자 and pleasant agricultural working conditions would be necessary for health, and the farmers themselves should recognize the importance and care of health. The project for enhancement of the farmers' health is needed and who should give guideline to have the responsibility for health.

APEX(Agricultural Policy/Environmental eXtender) Model: An Emerging Tool for Agricultural Environmental Analyses

  • The agricultural policy/Environmental eXtender (APEX) model was developed by the Blackland Research and Extension Center in Temple, Texas. APEX is a flexible and dynamic tool that is capable of simulating a wide array of management practices, cropping systems, and other land uses across a broad range of agricultural landscapes, including whole farms and small watersheds. The model can be configured for novel land management strategies, such as filter strip impacts on pollutant losses from upslope crop fields, vegetated grassed waterways in combination with filter strip impacts, and land application of manure removed from livestock feedlots or waste storage ponds. The APEX model has continually evolved since its inception, and the process of adaptation and modification will likely continue as use of the model expands for an ever-increasing range of environmental problems and conditions. Several improvements to specific model subroutines have already been initiated, while other potential improvements have been identified that will require future research and code modification efforts.

  • 본 연구는 선진국의 축산분야의 전자기술 응용사례에 관한 문헌연구를 통하여 전자기술과 마이크로프로세서가 현대 축산의 환경계측제어 및 사양관리 자동화에 어떻게 응용되고 있는 가를 분석하고, 그들의 응용기술을 선발하는데 목적을 두고 수행하였다. 그리고 다음과 같은 분야를 중점적으로 조사분석하였는데, 연구결과에 의하면 우리나라의 실정에 맞게 선진국의 기술을 개선하여 충분히 응용할 수 있으리라 사료된다. 조사 연구된 분야는 환경계측제어 분야와 사양관리 자동화 분야로, 환경계측제어에는 온도, 상대습도, 암모니아 농도, 사료 및 물 소비량에 대하여 분석하였으며, 사양관리 자동화에는 낙농을 위하여 컴퓨터 보조 사료급여 시스템, 젖소 성능과 건강의 모니터링, 관리 시스템을 위한 처리제어의 가능성을, 양돈을 위하여 혼합사료의 상차와 하자, 돈방에 습식사료를 배분하는 것의 정확도, 섭취시간의 제어, 트랜스폰더 - 사료급여를 분석하였다.

Rethink the interlink between land degradation and livelihood of rural communities in Chilga district, Northwest Ethiopia

  • Background: Ethiopia is among the poorest countries where land degradation caused livelihood problem to its inhabitants. The livelihood of rural communities in Ethiopia is seriously threatened by land degradation. Land is the major natural resource that economic, social, infrastructure, and other human activities are undertaken on. Thus, land resources play an important role in shaping rural livelihoods, and lack of sustainable land management practices leads to land degradation. Thus, this study aimed to analyze interlink between land degradation and livelihood of rural communities in Chilga district, Northwest Ethiopia. It also addresses the factors which influence income diversification for livelihood of households in the study area. Result: The result depicts that the major causes of land degradation are both natural and anthropogenic. Land degradation and livelihood are negatively interlinked with each other. The livelihood of the majority of the population in the study area is dependent on subsistence agriculture both farming and animal husbandry with low diversification. The survey result showed that more than half (69%) of the sample households have farm size of less than 2 ha, nearly one third (31%) have 2.0-2.5 ha, and insignificant number of farmers have more than 2.5 ha. More than 80% of the respondents pointed out that land degradation has impacts both on crop yield and livestock production. Most of the explanatory variables such as gender, age, education level, farmland size, and family size have statistical significant influence (at P < .01 and P < .05 levels) for income diversification of households, while marital status on the other hand is not statistically significant though it has positive relation with income diversification in this study. Conclusions: Our results suggest awareness should be created in the community about the livelihood diversification mechanisms which enabled them to engage in different income-generating activities and comprehensive watershed management should be implemented.

섬진강수계의 오염원 관리방안에 따른 수질 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Water Quality according to the Pollution Management Plan of Seomjin River Water System)

  • 본 연구는 전라북도 섬진강수계의 수질을 예측 분석하여 수질을 개선하는 시나리오를 구성하여 결과를 산출하였다. 결과적으로 공공하수처리시설의 배출수 관리강화 및 오염물질 관리 개선과 국내 축산계 감소에 따라 수질이 최대 BOD 15.32 %, T-N 7.17 %, T-P 62.86 %로 개선된 것으로 분석되었다. 효율적인 감축 계획수립, 오염부하량 저감계획, 하수 처리 효율 증대 계획, 공공하수처리시설 확대로 인한 오염물질 감소 및 총 오염 부하 동물 배설물 에너지 회수 등 다양한 삭감계획을 보완한 것으로 분석되었다. 자연증가 및 경제발전을 고려한 수질 개선 계획에 대한 연구개발은 수질 개선에 효율적이다.

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 고온기(高溫期) 초지(草地)의 예취관리(刈取管理)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)로서 여름철 고온기간중(高溫期間中) 예취시기(刈取時期)와 예취(刈取)높이가 tall fescu 우점초지(優占草地)의 목초고사(牧草枯死), 잡초발생(雜草發生), 재생(再生)과 저장탄수화물함량(貯藏炭水化物含量) 및 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향을 구명(究明)하여 고온기(高溫期)의 적절한 예취방법(刈取方法) 모색하기 위해 실시(實施)되었다. 본(本) 시험(試驗)은 3차(次) 예취시기(刈取時期)(7월(月) 12일(日), 8월(月) 4일(日))를 주구(主區)로 하고 3차(次) 예취시(刈取時) 예취(刈取)높이(3, 6, 9cm)를 세구(細區)로 하여 4 반복 분할구 배치법으로 설계(設計)하였으며, 1984년도(年度) 수원(水原) 축산시험장(畜産試驗場) 초지시험포(草地試驗圃)에서 수행(遂行)된 결과(結果)의 요약(要約)은 다음과 같다. 1. 시험기간중(試驗期間中) 기상(氣象)을 요약(要約)하면 기온(氣溫)은 평년(平年)에 비해 $1{\sim}2^{\circ}C$높았으며 특(特)히 8월(月) 상(上) 중순(中旬)의 기온(氣溫)이 높았다. 강수량(降水量)은 7월(月) 상순(上旬), 8월(月) 하순(下旬) 및 9월(月) 상순(上旬)을 제외하고는 평년(平年)에 비해 적었다. 2. 고온기시(高溫期時) 지표(地表) 및 지중(地中)(10cm)온도(溫度)는 3차(次) 예취시(刈取時) 예취(刈取)높이가 낮을수록 높아지는 경향이었다(지표온도(地表溫度) : $2{\sim}4^{\circ}C$, 지중온도(地中溫度) : $1{\sim}2^{\circ}C$) 3. 3차(次) 예취후(刈取后) 예취(刈取)높이별(別) 재생초장(再生草長)과 재생엽면적(再生葉面積)은 예취(刈取)높이가 높을수록 빠른 생장(生長)을 보였다. 4. 3차(次) 예취후(刈取后) 그루터기내(內) 저장탄수화물(貯藏炭水化物)(TNC) 함량(含量)은 7월(月) 12일구(日區)가 8월(月) 4일구(日區)에 비해 회복이 빨랐으며 그 중 9cm 예취(刈取)높이구(區)에서 가장 빠른 회복을 보였고, 3cm구(區)가 가장 늦었다. 8월(月) 4일구(日區)에서는 고온(高溫)과 강우(降雨)로 인해 TNC의 회복이 더딘 것으로 생각되며 3cm높이구(區)에서 회복이 가장 늦은 경향을 보였다. 5. 고온기간(高溫期間)인 3차(次) 예취후(刈取后) 목초고사율(牧草枯死率)은 예취(刈取)높이가 낮아질수록 증가하였다(P<0.05). 6. 3차(次) 예취시(刈取時)에는 전체 시험포장에서 잡초발생(雜草發生)이 거의 없었으나 4차(次) 예취(刈取) 시(時)에는(7월(月) 12일구(日區)) 3cm구(區)에서는 60%의 잡초율(雜草率)을 보여 주었으며 6, 9cm로 예취(刈取)높이가 높아짐에 따라 잡초율(雜草率)은 21, 7%로 각각 감소하였다(P<0.05). 이는 5차(次) 예취시(刈取時)에도 비슷한 경향을 보였으며 주요발생잡초(主要發生雜草)로는 피>바램이>소리쟁이, 방동산이 등의 순으로 나타났다. 그러나 8월(月) 4일구(日區)에서는 예취(刈取)높이별(別) 잡초발생차이(雜草發生差異)는 크지 않았다. 7. 고온기시(高溫期時) 건물수량(乾物收量)(3차(次))은 8월(月) 4일구(日區)가 7월(月)12일구(日區)에 비해 많았으며, 예취(刈取)높이가 낮을수록 증가하였다(P<0.05). 그러나 4차(次)와 5차(次) 예취시(刈取時) 수량(收量)은 刈예취시기별(刈取時期別) 차이(差異)는 없었으나, 3차(次) 예취시(刈取時) 예취(刈取)높이가 높을수록 증가하였다(P<0.05). 8. 재생수량(再生收量)(4 + 5차(次))은 예취시기(刈取時期)에 관계없이 3차(次) 예취시(刈取時) 예취(刈取)높이가 높을수록 증가하였으며(P<0.05). 3, 4, 5차(次) 총건물수량(總乾物收量)을 볼 때 7월(月) 12일구(日區)에서는 예취(刈取)높이별(別) 차이(差異)가 인정되었으나(P<0.05), 8월(月) 4일구(日區)에서는 차이가 없었다. 9. 본(本) 시험(試驗)의 결과(結果)를 종합(綜合)하여 볼 때 여름철 고온기시(高溫期時) 목초(牧草)의 양호(良好)한 재생(再生)과 잡초발생억제(雜草發生抑制)를 위해서는 예취시기(刈取時期)에 관계없이 9cm의 높은 예취(刈取)높이가 바람직한 것으로 생각된다.

양돈 농가의 안전사고 발생현황 및 안전보건 관리수준 (A Survey on the Present State of Occurrence of Safety Accidents and Safety and Health Management Levels Among Swine Farmers)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to seek measures for improvement and management of farm work safety and health by conducting questionnaire surveys and on-site investigations to ascertain the present state of occurrence of safety accidents and safety and health management levels among swine farmers. In particular, the purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the establishment of measures for the management of safety and health suitable to the characteristics of related working environments. Methods: Questionnaire surveys were conducted among 223 farmers engaged in swine farming in 14 regions, and 10 farms were visited in order to implement multilateral methods, including in-depth interviews, along with field surveys. Results: The surveys indicated that 26.2% of all respondents experienced farm-work related safety accidents and body-reaction related accidents showed a high ratio at 31.1% of all respondents. With regard to cause materials of safety accidents, work other than that directly related to swine raising showed high ratios of safety accidents, with pigsty facility related accidents at 26.6%. Although most workers recognized the dangers latent in the working environments, their behavior and responses to the prevention of safety accidents were still insufficient due to a lack of understanding of safety and health management. In the survey on the present state of personal hygiene and wearing of protective equipment, workers were found to have been exposed to dangerous and harmful environments both inside and outside pigsties, but the actual states of their wearing protective safety equipment were very poor. Conclusion: Given the results of this study, swine farmers well recognize problems in their control of safety accidents and management of safety and health, but their knowledge about safety and health education and management guidelines was insufficient. Therefore, safety and health education, public relations, and customized personal protective equipment suitable for swine raising work should be developed in order to address the foregoing problem.

닭진드기 감염 농장에 대한 종합 방제법과 3point 5score 현미경 모니터링법을 통한 유효성 검증 (Effect of Integrated Pest Management with 3point 5score Microscopic Monitoring Method for Laying Farms Infected with Poultry Red Mite)

  • 본 연구에서는 닭진드기에 감염된 산란계 농장을 대상으로 3point 5score 현미경 모니터링 방법을 이용하여 방제 골든타임(golden time)과 충란제거제를 결합한 닭진드기 종합방제법(Integrated Pest Management; IPM)의 효과를 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 처리구는 닭진드기에 감염된 총 8개 산란계 농장을 바탕으로 1) 닭진드기 종합방제법을 이용한 농가 그리고 2) 일반적인 닭진드기 방제법을 이용한 농가로 2가지 처리구로 구분하였다. 또한, 농가의 닭진드기 오염도는 3point 5score 현미경 모니터링 방법을 이용하여 평가하였다. 그 결과, 산란계 농장에 대한 IPM 적용의 유무에 따른 청소 및 소독 전, 후 그리고 4주부터 20주까지의 score는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다(P>0.05). 하지만, 24주에는 IPM을 적용한 농가가 IPM을 적용하지 않은 농가보다 유의적으로 낮은(P<0.05) Score를 보였다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로, 3point 5score 현미경 모니터링 방법으로 지속적인 모니터링과 보완과 함께 충란제거제를 포함한 IPM을 이용하여 닭진드기를 제어하는 것은 궁극적으로 목표로 하는 닭진드기의 감염률을 감소시키는 데 효과적인 것으로 판단된다.

한우 농가의 농작업 안전보건 실태 및 안전관리 수준 조사 (A Survey on the Current Status of Safety and Health and of Safety Management Levels among Korean Native Cattle Farms)

  • Objectives: The present study was conducted to investigate farm work environments among farmers and examine the level of management of safety and health, and to subsequently produce study result to serve as foundational data for the development of guidelines on safety and health as part of the improvement of farming work environments among farmers raising Korean native cattle. Methods: The present study conducted a survey on farm work environments and the management of safety and health with 407 farmers engaged in Korean native cattle farming in selected regions in eight provinces. It also visited 10 farmers to verify the current status of farm work. Results: The survey results showed that 16.4% of the respondents experienced safety-related accidents due to farm work. The locations of the accidents were inside the cattle shed (71.4%) and facilities outside the cattle shed (19.6%). The types of accident showed collision with animals (35.7%), collision or contact with obstacles (27.1%), and musculoskeletal accidents due to heavy object handling (12.9%). The causes of the accidents were cattle (38.3%), cultivators and tractors (25.4%), facility tools in cattle sheds (9.0%), and slippery floors (6.0%). The damaged areas were hand (21.0%), spine (19.8%), lower limb (18.5%), and foot (17.3%). A self-diagnostic survey on respiratory diseases showed that 11.5% of the respondents experienced respiratory-related symptoms. The survey on safety and health during farm work showed that wearing personal protective equipment and response to emergency situations, which were needed to prevent safety-related accidents, were relatively low compared to the level of recognition of the need and awareness of safety issues. Furthermore, the field survey identified the current status of safety and health issues such as prevention management of collision accidents with cattle, how to handle heavy objects, and wearing of personal protective equipment. Conclusions: The present study identified safety-related accidents and problems in the management of safety and health among Korean native cattle farmers. In order to address the problem, it is necessary to not only provide guidelines on safety and health management which are appropriate to the characteristics of Korean native cattle farming work, but also to study the development of personal protective equipment.
