This study presents development of a automatic design software for process and die design of hot extrusion of aluminium alloys through square dies. The design of extrusion dies is still an art rather than a science with increasing complexity of shape and thinness of section. Therefore, most of the die design is still dependent on personal judgement, intuition and experience. The objective of this study is to develop a software system which includes a design rule extracted from literatures and experts in the extrusion industry. The developed system is effectively used to design extrusion processes and dies with reduced lead time and trial extrusion.

Nummular eczema is well-shaped, coin-like lesion. Usually it is surrounded by the papules and vesicles, and is likely to be the impetigo. It's said that nummular eczema is combined with atopic dermititis, contact dermatitis, bacterial infection and so on. Recently, we experienced a nummular eczema with impetigo and that was successfully treated by the herb-medication and the ceramic resonance therapy. The medications taken by the patient were yunwhasagnatang and gamisopungsan which is used to treat allergic disease and make immune system be strong. The former effects the liver to be cool down and healthy and it also has anti-imflamatory reactions like the corticosteroid hormone. Ceramic resonance therapy utilises irradiation within the frequency range of the radiation emitted by the human body. So we report this case with a brief review of the oriental medical and medical literatures.

This study was to investigate practical methods for activity-based nutrition education for elementary school students, which help them understand the knowledge of food and nutrition and apply it to their day-to-day lives practically. The concept and necessity for activity-based nutrition education Were investigated and practical nutrition education methods based on activities were developed by referring to literatures related to activity based loaming and nutrition education methods. Activity-based nutrition education is a set of methods by which better food and nutrition habits are introduced by means of various activities, such as nutritional plays and games, story composing, nutritional songs, nutritional diaries, role plays, discussion and cooking. Elementary nutrition education should be based on various activities that take into consideration the children's intellectual and physical development because these students are in a concrete operational stage and they are naturally active, curious, and inquisitive. Thus, various activities were developed for elementary nutrition education, and educational effect and~ teaching methods are suggested. Children can be highly motivated and naturally absorb knowledge and desirable attitudes with respect to food and nutrition by means of these activities because they take into consideration the age and intellectual levels of the children.

The software reliability growth depends on the testing time because the failure rate varies whether it is long or not. On the other hand, it might be difficult to reduce failure rate for most of the cases are not available for debugging during operational phase, hence, there are some literatures to study that the failure rate is uniform throughout the operational time. The failure rate reduces and the reliability grows with time regardless of debugging. As a result, the products reliability varies with the time duration of these products in point of customer view. The reason of this is that it accumulates the products experience, studies the exact operational method, and then finds and takes action against the fault circumstances. I propose the simple model to represent this status in this paper.

The study on Uredinales of Korea was initiated by P. Hennings in 1899. After that abundant works were done by Naohide Hiratsuka. And Seiya Ito, P. & H. Sydow, K. Nakata, S. Takimoto, A.L. Jaczewsk, V. L. Komarov, W.A. Tranzschel and others also engaged in the research on this field. Since 1956 the author has collected the specimen in South Korea, chiefly around Prov. Kangwon, among which are found 12 species 4 genera of rusts and 22 species of additional hosts all unrecorded from Korea. The author has described in the paper 220 species 32 genera 3 families of rusts in Korea, including those collected, by this author. This works, it must be added, owe much to the literatures of Dr. Naohide Hiratsuka, Prof. of Tokyo University of Education. The author express his hearty thanks to him.

Geometric singularity problems are principle difficulties of single-gimbal control moment gyros in spacecraft attitude control. To overcome these singularities, many steering logics have been studied. In this paper, a new null motion steering law is suggested, which is based on the minimization of the directional components of output torque with respect to the required torque. The suggested steering law has been simulated and verified to work well around several critical singular points which have been classified as testing points of avoidance algorithm in previous literatures.

Drugs mean not only medicines but also poisons, pesticides, food additives, cosmetics, cleaning agents, environmental pollutants and so on, which are normally considered foreign to the body, It is important to know what happens to these drugs when they get into the body. In the past the metabolic changes of drugs had been referred to as “detoxication mechanism”, but since there are many instances in which drugs are converted in the body to more active substances. Thus, metabolism of drugs is responsible for activation and inactivation of the drugs in the body. The major reactions in drug metabolism are oxidation, reduction, hydrolysis and conjugation. Of these four areas, most of the attention had been focused on the oxidation. Therefore, in contract of ample literatures on drug-oxidizing enzymes, there were relatively few reports on drug-reducing enzymes. In recent years, however, the reduction has received an increasing interest due to its pharmacological or toxicological significance. The present lecture is organized keeping with a focus on drug-reducing enzymes which have been explored by us and by other groups.

Lipomas are the commonest soft tissue tumor. However, those arsing in the hand are infrequent. Lipomas in the hand that exhibit a size of more than 5 cm call giant lipoma, these are very rare only case reports and small series of this entity have been described. We could experience a case about giant lipoma of the hand which cannot easily contact, we report a case including review of literatures.

This Paper Presents a new model, called the “shear-friction truss model,” for slender reinforced concrete beams to derive a clear and simple equation for their ultimate shear strength. In this model, a portion of the shear strength is provided by shear reinforcement as in the traditional truss model, and the remainder by the shear-friction mechanism. Friction resistance is derived considering both geometrical configuration of the rough crack surface and material Properties. The inclined angle of diagonal strut in the traditional truss model is modified to satisfy the state of balanced failure, when both stirrups and longitudinal reinforcement yield simultaneously. The vertical component of friction resistance is added to the modified truss model to form the shear-friction truss model. Test results from published literatures are used to find the effective coefficient of concrete strength in resisting shear on inclined crack surfaces.

The objective of this study is to optimize the section of RC box culvert and develop a CAD system for drawing. This paper consists of three parts. In the first part, the external load conditions are systematized by using the literatures and specifications. In the second one, the RC box culvert is optimized using the SUMT algorithm. Sizing variables, and steel ratio are taken as design variables, and a cost function as the objective function. The stress and side constraints are derived from the Korea Concrete Specifications for the ultimate strength design. Finally, a data base and CAD system is developed for the drawing of the optimized section of RC box culverts.
