  • In this study, YakMyeongSi were considered to define relations of Tradional Korean Medicine(TKM) and literature. In the introduction, present related studies were searched to clarify YakMyeongSi are completely different from medical property songs(YakSeongGa). Related data about YakMyeongSi and YakSeongGa were extracted for the initial findings. In chapter 2, medical name verse was defined as 'a type of free verses with one or more medical names in each verse to be interpreted ordinarily' based on records and examples of YakMyeongSi. In China, it originated from "Book of Odes" and "Songs of Chu", and it was most popular in the Song-China. Medical names actually referred to medical names in the early forms of the Warring States Period, but the complete form of YakMyeongSi started to appear in the Tang-China. In chapter 3, 34 YakMyeongSi and 5 related data were suggested in tables as the present conditions of Korean YakMyeongSi. With actual examples, better comprehension of YakMyeongSi were intended. Also, the fact that Korean YakMyeongSi were completed in forms at the end of Goryeo and beginning of Joseon dynasty. The motivations of writing YakMyeongSi were also studied. Medical names were put into verses because they well expressed landscapes and emotions. Propagation of medical knowledge was the basis of YakMyeongSi. There are limits in defining the relations of TKM and literature with some YakMyeongSi. More studies must be carried out on YakMyeongSi in various records with details and interests. Also, study to define general relations of TKM and literature must be carried out together by examining TKM in literary forms such as medical introductions or medical property songs and literature pieces that expressed principles and materials of TKM.

  • Purpose. Smoking is the leading cause of death and smoking initiation rarely occurs after adolescence. Thus research on adolescent smoking is crucial. A consistent definition of smoking is important because inconsistent definitions make comparisons across studies an arduous task. Thus, the aim of the study was to suggest future research directions for smoking definitions after examining pitfalls in the literature. Methods. In this study the literature on adolescent smoking in the U.S. and South Korea was examined, and three types of smoking definitions were identified. Limitations in the studies are identified and future research directions are suggested. Results. In the U.S. literature, smoking definitions can be categorized into three groups: definitions based on stage models, smoking trajectories, and definitions derived from specific data. In the South Korean literature, various levels of smoking have not been differentiated. Conclusions. While the literature does not provide a definitive answer regarding the definition of smoking, it suggests three issues to consider for future research. First, multiple measures of smoking are more desirable than a one-time measure. Second, theory- or trajectory-based smoking definitions are more desirable than definitions derived from available data. Finally, regularity and amount of cigarette use should be incorporated in defining smoking behavior.

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the technologies powered by AI fuel the fourth industrial revolution. Being the primary adopter of such innovations, banking has recently started using the most common AI-based technology, i.e., conversational agents. Although research extensively focuses on this niche area and provides bibliometric understanding for such agents in other industries, a similar review with scientometric insights of the banking literature concerning AI conversational agents is absent till date. Furthermore, in the era following the pandemic, banks are faced with the imperative to provide solutions that align with the changing landscape of remote consumer behavior. As a result, banks are proactively integrating technology-driven solutions, such as automated agents, to effectively address the growing demand for remote customer support. Hence more research is needed to perfect such agents. In order to bridge these existing gaps, the present study undertook a comprehensive examination of two decades' worth of banking literature. A meticulous review was conducted, analyzing approximately 116 papers published from 2003 to 2023. The aim was to provide a scientometric overview of the topic, catering to the research needs of both academic and industrial professionals. Holistically, the study seeks to present a macro-view about the existing trends in AI based banking conversational agents' literature while focusing on quantity, qualitative and structural indicators that are effectively necessary to offer new directions for the AI-based banking solutions. Our study, therefore, presents insights surrounding the literature, using selected techniques related to performance analysis and science mapping.

  • This study aims to understand the concept of 'ruralism' in Korea by comparing with 'rurality' which were dealt with in various fields related to rural areas in Korea. This study conducted a systematic literature review as a methodology. The process is defining key questions, searching for documents, classifying documents, extracting data, and presenting results. The key questions were set to 'How has the term 'ruralism' been used in various studies?' and 'How can the concept of rurality in Korea be organized?' according to the purpose of the study. The study retrieved literature by searching on Korean academic database, RISS and DBpia, using the five keywords '농촌성', '농촌다움', '농촌다운', 'Rurality,' and 'Ruralism.' The search yielded 1,014 documents which were thereafter screened by systematic literature review process. After sifting, only 31 publications were found suitable for inclusion in the final analysis. This study organized them into four categories: rural concept, rural landscape, rural tourism, and rural development. The literature divided into four types. Type I is a study that deals only with economy·society among studies related to rurality, Type II is a study that deals with both the economic·social and physical environment, Type III is a study that deals with the physical environment of a rural area and presents the rural planning principle as maintenance and preservation. Finally, Type IV is a study that presents ruralism as a new rural planning principle for a future rural area. In the end, the study discussed some implications on defining ruralism in Korea.
