Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression with the SPSS Win 20.0 Program. Results: The mean score of cancer preventive behavior was $3.43{\pm}.14$ out of 5. Cancer preventive behavior showed a significantly positive correlation with knowledge about cancer (r=.24, p<.001). In the multiple regression analysis, gender, perceived health status and knowledge about cancer were significant predictors and explained 14.5% of cancer preventive behaviors. Conclusion: Findings of this study allow a comprehensive understanding of cancer preventive behavior and related factors by middle-aged people. However, further study with a larger random sample from various living environment is necessary.

This system is a conceptual model that connected learning with assesment by using new media such as computers, multimedia, and new technologies. In this conceptual model, adaptive diagnosis means tailored or customized diagnostic evaluation, and adaptive instruction implies tailored or customized instruction. The connection between learning and assesment suggests that they are closely related to determine following learning contents and learning methods. CADI's expected effect are 1) it can contribute to real learning of core concept, 2) it can enlarge the educational opportunities, 3) it can help students study by student himself and learn media literacy, 4) information for evaluation functions more essential roles, 5) it is possible to work cooperatively with any other school subject.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how much people recognise and participate in wastes recycling and to give suggestions for systematic environmental education on the recycling. Subject's recognition degree on recycling mark which had been established by The Ministry of Environment in 1995 was very low and the recycling mark should be educated because it would help people consider the environmental factor when purchase goods which are recyclable or not. They acknowledged simple recycling methods of recyclable goods much but not the complex methods of them. So they need the systematic education on recycling method through which continuous participation of them would be arisen. In the while there is no mention about recycling mark in textbooks which are currently used in Korean elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. Not only the mark but also any kind of environmental information should be updated in environmental textbooks/learning materials to cultivate students environmental literacy to meet current environmental issues dynamically and solve environmental problems in the future successfully.

  • In the digital environment where the Internet and IT change rapidly, researchers have utilized scientific information by relying on more complex and various media than before. This study performed a group interview with thirteen questions derived from five categories in order to understand information needs and information seeking behaviors of Korean doctoral researchers in this information environment. The five categories are (1) identifying information resource usage pattern, (2) attitude towards information resources and reasons for use, (3) IT skills and information literacy, (4) physical library use vs electronic access, and (5) attitudes toward the digital library. In particular, this study focused on analyzing similarities and differences of two groups of researchers selected equally in the humanities and social sciences and in science and technology by doing the interview. The research showed that there are no differences in the goal of using scientific information, information literacy, the ratio of using written materials to electronic resources, and routes of acquiring research ideas or knowledge, but there are differences in materials used for studies or researches and in favorite scientific portal sites.

For this, the data were collected through 4 activities such as interview, picture drawings, word association experiment, and sentence completion task with ten 4-5th graders in elementary schools; they were qualitatively analyzed by 2 researchers. First, the meaning components driven by sentence completion task, word association experiment were totally 6 components: media device, connection(alienation), competence(provision), entertainment, adverse effects, ambilaterality. Second, the components of media mental model driven by pictures were 4 components: functions/competence, entertainment, conflict with paper books/sharing, harmfulness/ambilaterality. Third, the components from interview consisted of conflict between paper books and electronic media, communication-centeredness, fear(addiction) and users' qualification. Based on those results, careful examination in cyber talk, necessity of addiction prevention, active development of learning media and their balanced utilization with books, and healthful media literacy education and reinforcement of critical thinking were suggested.

  • Previous research on smartphone has been focused on personal performance, accessibility, and information gaps in information system quality. In order to analyze the relationship between the use of smartphone information and personal characteristics, this study conducted a survey of 300 tourists at Jeju Airport, by using three variables of self-efficacy, 'impulsiveness and demographic variables (age, sex, education level, etc.) of smartphone use with personal characteristics. In conclusion, self-efficacy and impulsiveness seem to be positively related to the use of smartphone because it seems to be a living environment in which the desired information can be acquired within a desired time. In addition, there seems to be a difference between a mobile native environment in which online and offline boundaries are always connected and an environment in which 40 to 50 digital literacies are connected. This can be interpreted as a result of additional analysis.
