The naturalized plants in this site were 13 families, 29 genera, 43 species, 1 varieties, 44 taxa and naturalization rate was 11.5% and based on the list of an ecosystem disturbance plants, 3 taxa were recorded in the studied areas : Paspalum distichum, Solanum carolinense, Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior. The hydrophytes was listed 31 taxa of 15 families, 20 genera, 29 species, 2 varieties and Eleocharis mamillata var. cyclocarpa, Penthorum chinense, Soirodela polyrhiza were recorded in Osongjae, Sagittaria aginashi, Eleocharis kuroguwai, Scirpus juncoides, Scirpus triqueter, Monochoria korsakowi, Monochoria vaginalis var. plantaginea were recorded in Ogongjae. Besides, Scirpus fluviatilis, Trapa pseudoincisa were recorded in Shinyongjae and Scirpus triangulatus, Nymphoides peltata, Myriophyllum verticillatum were recorded in Eodujae. This site is located in the urban area and ecosystem-disturbing wild animal and plant has been imported here, therefore ecosystem has been disturbed more and more. The wetland here rapidly has changed into upland, so it needs conservation measures through long-term monitoring.

  • A faunal study on Amphipods belonging to the class Malacostraca was conducted 26-29 August 2021 at 12 sites in Chujado Island, Korea. This study found that 68 amphipod species in 39 genera, 19 families were living on Chujado Island. Among these 19 families, the family Caprellidae (20 species) showed the highest abundance. Ampithoidae (7 species) and Dexaminidae (6 species) were subdominant families. The species Stenothoe valida Dana, 1852 (found at 10 of 12 sites) was the most frequent and widespread species. Caprella scaura Templeton, 1836 was identified at 9 of 12 sites and had the highest frequency of appearance among 20 species of Caprellidae. Among the 68 species, Ampithoe waialua J.L. Barnard, 1970 and Melita nagatai Yamato, 1987 are newly recorded species in Korean fauna. These newly recorded species are fully illustrated and compared with related species. We provide an amphipod fauna in Chujado Island with a list, figures, and a table.

  • Before the construction of Hantangang dam, we surveyed vertebrate fauna along the Hantangang River and collected samples. We collected 248 specimens (1,394 individuals) of 41 fish species from 10 families in four orders, including 17 endemic species and 5 endangered species. In our herpetofauna survey, we collected 47 amphibian samples of 10 species from 5 families in 2 orders, and 19 reptile samples of 5 species from 2 families in 1 order. We observed 25 species of bird (6 orders, 14 families) inclulding collection of 51 bird specimens (10 species from 5 families in 1 order). We collected 91 mammals of 6 species, and identified 7 species from field sign and direct observation from a total of 10 families in 5 orders. This collection and list comprise the final vertebrate faunal survey of the Hantangang region, and will provide basic scientific information for future research on conservation and restoration of the region.

  • Spider fauna of Mt. Yongmunsan located in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, was surveyed from April to October in 1996. A total of 75 species of 51 genera in 22 families from 996 individuals of spiders were identified. Species richness of each family, there were 17 Araneid species (22.7%), followed by each of the 7 Thomisid and Tetragnathid species (9.3%), 6 Salticid species (8.0%), and 5 Lycosid species (6.7%). Zoogeographically, spider fauna of Mt. Yongmunsan represented 1 cosmopolitan species (1.3%), 2 holarctic region species (2.6%), and 9 palearctic region species (12.0%), and 4 Korean endemic species (4.0%). Thus it is suggested that spider fauna of Mt. Yongmunsan was under northern regional influence.

  • In recent years, the view centered conservation for eco-system is getting important rather than development from human oriented perspective. As a result, the concept "Sustainable development", that is seeking harmony between conservation and development, appeared so that we researched distribution and status of vascular plants a site of project in the Bukkyungnam substation. The main findings from the study is as follows. The vascular plants a site of project in the Bukkyungnam substation area was listed 435 taxa; 93 families, 269 genera, 377 species, 1 subspecies, 51 varieties and 6 forms. Specific plant species by floral region were total 25 taxa; Acer palmatum (Planted species), Asperula lasiantha in Class III, Caryopteris incana, Cirsium schantarense in Class II, 21 taxa (Dryopteris erythrosora, Chloranthus japonicus, Salix glandulosa, Alnus hirsuta, Quercus variabilis, Ulmus parvifolia, Clematis patens, Rubus hirsutus, Euphorbia pekinensis, Cayratia japonica, Grewia biloba var. parviflora, Vaccinium oldhami, Microstegium japonicum, Hosta capitata, Polygonatum falcatum, etc.) in Class I. Based on the list of Korean endemic plants, 10 taxa were recorded; Cephalotaxus koreana, Populus tomentiglandulosa (Planted species), Indigofera koreana, Forsythia koreana (Planted species), Paulownia coreana (Planted species), Asperula lasiantha, Weigela subsessilis, Adenophora triphylla var. hirsuta, Carex okamotoi, Lilium amabile and based on the list of the rare plants by the Forest ResearchInstitute, 2 taxa were recorded in the studied areas; Lilium callosum (Preservation priority order; No. 191), Aristolochia contorta (No. 151). The naturalized plants in this site were 13 families, 22 genera, 28 taxa and naturalization rate was 6.4% of all 435 taxa vascular plants.

  • Spider fauna of Oksunbong located in Jecheon City, Chungcheongbuk-do, was surveyed provisionally from May to September in 1998. A total of 58 species of 40 genera in 18 families from 301 individuals of spiders were identified. Species richness of each family, there were 10 Araneid species (17.2%), followed by 9 Theridiid species (15.5%), and 8 Tetergnathid speices (13.8%). Zoogeographically, spider fauna of Oksunbong represented 1 cosmopolitan species (1.7%), 2 holarctic region species (3.4%), and 7 palearctic region species (12.1%). However, Korean endemic species were not collected during this survey. Thus it is suggested that spider fauna of Oksunbong was under northern regional influence.
