유연한 지지 구조와 유체 동압 베어링으로 지지되는 HDD의 회전 유연 디스크-스핀들 시스템에 대한 유한 요소 고유 진동 해석 (Finite Element Modal Analysis of a Spinning Flexible Disk-spindle System Supported by Hydro Dynamic Bearings and Flexible Supporting Structures in a HDD)

  • The free vibration of a spinning flexible disk-spindle system supported by hydro dynamic bearings (HDB) in an HDD is analyzed by FEM. The spinning flexible disk is described using Kirchhoff plate theory and von Karman non-linear strain, and its rigid body motion is also considered. It is discretized by annular sector element. The rotating spindle which includes the clamp, hub, permanent magnet and yoke, is modeled by Timoshenko beam including the gyroscopic effect. The flexible supporting structure with a complex shape which includes stator core, housing, base plate, sleeve and thrust pad is modeled by using a 4-node tetrahedron element with rotational degrees of freedom to satisfy the geometric compatibility. The dynamic coefficients of HDB are calculated from the HDB analysis program, which solves the perturbed Reynolds equation using FEM. Introducing the virtual nodes and the rigid link constraints defined in the center of HDB, beam elements of the shaft are connected to the solid elements of the sleeve and thrust pad through the spring and damper element. The global matrix equation obtained by assembling the finite element equations of each substructure is transformed to the state-space matrix-vector equation, and the associated eigen value problem is solved by using the restarted Arnoldi iteration method. The validity of this research is verified by comparing the numerical results of the natural frequencies with the experimental ones. Also the effect of supporting structures to the natural modes of the total HDD system is rigorously analyzed.

멀티빔 위성 시스템에서 대역 분할 기법을 이용한 지상망과의 주파수 간섭 경감 연구 (A band Segmentation Scheme for Frequency Sharing with Terrestrial Service in Multi-beam Satellite Systems)

  • 위성시스템에서 제공하는 넓은 서비스 영역이 타 무선망, 특히 지상망의 서비스 영역과 겹치는 경우가 많이 발생하므로 위성시스템에서 타 무선망과의 주파수 공유는 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 지상망과의 간섭을 경감하기 위한 대역 분할 방법을 제안한다. 본 제안 기법에서 멀티빔을 이용하는 위성시스템에서 각 위성 빔은 주파수 재사용 기법을 사용하며, 지상 무선국은 무선국이 속한 위성빔의 인접 위성빔 주파수 대역을 활용함으로써 간섭량을 효과적으로 경감시킬 수 있다. 본 논문의 실험 결과에 따르면 기존 방식에서 링크 가용도가 90%일 때 지상 무선국이 수신하는 간섭량이 -117 dBW이나, 제안된 방법을 적용할 때 주파수 재사용률에 따라 간섭량을 -168 dBW 또는 -163 dBW으로 경감시킬 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 저전력 고품질의 60GHz 대역 무선 통신을 위한 디지털 역지향성 안테나 시스템의 설계와 성능을 분석하였다. 디지털 역지향성 안테나는 수신된 방향에 대한 정보 없이 자동적으로 빔을 신호원 방향으로 생성할 수 있다. 제안된 시스템은 신호원 방향으로 빔을 형성하여 간섭 신호를 감소시키고 SINR 을 향상시킴으로써 저전력 통신이 가능하다. 초고속 통신을 위해서 60GHz 와 같은 밀리미터파 대역에서 통신을 할 경우 주파수 오프셋이 심하게 발생된다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 PLL 을 사용하여 주파수 오프셋에 강한 시스템을 설계하였다. 또한, 안테나 수에 따른 빔 성능 및 디지털 역지향성 안테나의 위상 공액 기법을 사용한 경우에 대해서 주파수 오프셋을 고려하여 성능을 분석하였다.

Numerical formulation of a new solid-layer finite element to simulate reinforced concrete structures strengthened by over-coating

  • Over-coating is one of the most popular engineering practices to strengthen Reinforced Concrete (RC) structures, due to the relative quickness and ease of construction. It consists of an external coat bonded to the outer surface of the structural RC element, either by the use of chemical adhesives, mechanical anchor bolts or simply mortar injection. In contrast to these constructive advantages, the numerical estimation of the bearing capacity of the strengthened reinforced concrete element is still complicated, not only for the complexity of modelling a flexible membrane or plate attached to a quasi-rigid solid, but also for the difficulties that raise of simulating any potential delamination between both materials. For these reasons, the standard engineering calculations used in the practice remain very approximated and clumsy. In this work, we propose the formulation of a new 2D solid-layer finite element capable to link a solid body with a flexible thin layer, as it were the "skin" of the body, allowing the potential delamination between both materials. In numerical terms, this "skin" element is intended to work as a transitional region between a solid body (modelled with a classical formulation of a standard quadrilateral four-nodes element) and a flexible coat layer (modelled with cubic beam element), dealing with the incompatibility of Degrees-Of-Freedom between them (two DOF for the solid and three DOF for the beam). The aim of the solid-layer element is to simplify the mesh construction of the strengthened RC element being aware of two aspects: a) to prevent the inappropriate use of very small solid elements to simulate the coat; b) to improve the numerical estimation of the real bearing capacity of the strengthened element when the coat is attached or detached from the solid body.

  • 본 논문에서는 표준트럭하중을 받는 연약지반에 놓인 롤타입 강재매트의 모델링과 해석을 수행하였다. 롤 타입 강재매트는 접근성이 제한된 동토지역에서 손쉬운 현장운반을 위해 원형으로 접을 수 있는 강재매트를 의미하며, 동토지반의 융해로 형성되는 연약지반을 통과하는 비포장도로의 급속보강을 위해 개발되었다. 해석 모델은 강재매트 연결부의 비선형적 거동특성을 모사할 수 있는 연결요소, 강재매트의 휨강성을 갖는 쉘요소, 지반특성을 고려한 스프링 구속으로 구성된다. 또한 각 해석요소들의 구조적 거동은 각 모델링 단계에서 실험과 해석을 통해 검증되었다. 링크요소가 없는 빔과 쉘 요소해석이 수행되었으며, 본 연구에서 제시된 해석모델의 결과와 비교하였다. 해석결과, 본 연결부를 고려한 쉘 해석모델의 수직 처짐 결과가 다른 모델에 비하여 상당히 큰 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서, 느슨한 모래지반에 놓인 롤 타입 강재매트의 해석모델은 면밀한 변수해석 연구에 근거하여야 함을 알 수 있다.

16-QAM OFDM-Based K-Band LoS MIMO Communication System with Alignment Mismatch Compensation

  • This paper presents a novel K-band (18 GHz) 16-quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based $2{\times}2$ line-of-sight multi-input multi-output communication system. The system can deliver 356 Mbps on a 56 MHz channel. Alignment mismatches, such as amplitude and/or phase mismatches, between the transmitter and receiver antennas were examined through hardware experiments. Hardware experimental results revealed that amplitude mismatch is related to antenna size, antenna beam width, and link distance. The proposed system employs an alignment mismatch compensation method. The open-loop architecture of the proposed compensation method is simple and enables facile construction of communication systems. In a digital modem, 16-QAM OFDM with a 512-point fast Fourier transform and (255, 239) Reed-Solomon forward error correction codecs is used. Experimental results show that a bit error rate of $10^{-5}$ is achieved at a signal-to-noise ratio of approximately 18.0 dB.

휠체어 사용자를 위한 열차 탑승 장치 설계와 용접 조건 (A Study of Board the Train Designed for Wheelchair Users on Welding Condition)

  • The ratio of mobility handicapped was 12,110,000 in late 2009 about 24.4% of total population. The number of handicapped population is increasing continuously due to traffic accidents and industrial disasters. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to suggest a design for passengers on wheelchairs to get into and off to raise handicapped or elderly people's right of mobility. The scope of this research is mobility handicapped especially wheelchair passengers who use vans, small buses, and trains. The ramp design of vans is module form. The ramp is moved with screw jack and guides are installed on each side to increase stability. Moreover, a bridge was installed for smooth getting in and off of the van. The ramp design for small bus is lowed by 200m in order not to have obstacle such as speed bump when getting in or off. In order to reduce vulnerable environment and administration, air slide cylinder was chosen. Lastly, for the ramp design of train, the principle of link was used that the simpler structure made the weight lighter and installation in the train became easier. If we look at the conjugation condition of heterogeneous materials to produce a ramp, proper welding condition for cold steel plate and stainless plate is 3kW output and 3-5m/min of welding speed using laser beam seems proper.

지식기반신경망에서 은닉노드삽입을 이용한 영역이론정련화 (Theory Refinements in Knowledge-based Artificial Neural Networks by Adding Hidden Nodes)

  • 인공지능의 기호적 방법과 수치적 방법을 결합한 지식기반신경망은 다른 기계 학 습모델보다 우수한 성능을 나타내고 있다. 그러나 지식기반신경망은 신경망으로 형성 된 후 동적으로 그 구조를 변경할 수 없어서 영역이론정련화 기능을 갖추지 못하였다. 지식기반신경망의 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위하여 TopGen 알고리즘이 제안되었으나 삽입된 은닉노드를 모두 입력 노드에 연결한 점, 빔탐색을 이용한 등의 문제를 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 TopGen의 문제점을 해소하기 위하여 은닉 노드를 다음 하위계층 의 노드에 링크 시켰으며, 역추적을 허용한 언덕 오르기를 이용하는 알고리즘을 설계 하였다.
