탄소섬유그리드 보강 콘크리트 부재의 거동에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Analysis on the Behavior of Carbon Fiber Grid Reinforced Concrete Members)

  • In this paper we present the results of an analytical investigation on the existing concrete structures which are reinforced with carbon fiber grid. The carbon fiber grid and polymer mortar are utilized in the reinforcement of concrete column, beam, and tunnel lining. The physical and mechanical properties of the carbon fiber grid and polymer mortar were obtained experimentally and then used in the analytical investigation. In the analysis concrete structures are modeled with 3-D solid finite elements and the carbon fiber grid is modeled with space frame elements. Through the investigation reinforcing effect of carbon fiber grid on the existing concrete structures is confirmed.

  • Most of existing tunnels in Korea have structural and material defects, such as lack of the thickness in the crown and presence of an opening behind thie lining as a result of its construction. In Japan, it is said that carbon fiver sheet is very attractive for the upgrading damaged tunnel due to its good tensile strength, handability and resistance to corrosion. This report is the summary of the applicability of continous carbon fiber sheet for a repair and reiforcement of existing tummel located in Masan. It is the aim of this study to analyze the site data related to consturcion method used carbon fiber sheet.

  • Tunneling is a very dangerous and expansive work. Especially, the concrete lining works need many long hours and much cost. As an alternative, the unlined tunneling methods including NMT have been developed in various country. These methods have advantages in cost, time and quality. In Korea, many considerations have been conducted to apply the unlined tunneling method in comparatively good rock. Since primary reinforcements play the role of the final supporting system in unlined tunnels, the initial stiffness and long term durability of reinforcements are very important for tunnel safety. To establish the reinforcements standard suitable to Korea, we investigated the foreign standards and construction cases, comparing geological and construction conditions of foreign land and Korea. As the result, we have proposed the standard of primary supporting system for unlined tunnel in aspects of material, design, construction and quality control etc.

  • The setting time is very important factor affecting the quality of tunnel lining and reinforcement of sloped slope etc. Currently, however, the quality criteria of accelerating admixture to improve it is not established well. In this study, evaluation on setting time measuring methods of a cement accelerating admixture was performed. Six types of measuring methods were checked and a proper measuring method of the admixture were proposed as fellows: (1) the temperature of materials used shall be controlled exactly and (2) to evaluate the properties of it, an admixture usage of $5\%$ (ratio of cement weight) is recommended.

Controlling the Hardness and Tribological Behaviour of Non-asbestos Brake Lining Materials for Automobiles

  • In spite of unparalleled combination of essential material properties for brake linings and clutch facings, replacement for asbestos is seriously called for since it is a health hazard. Once asbestos is replaced with other material then composition and properties of brake pad changes. In certain cases hardness of the material may be high enough to affect the rotor material. In this study, hardness of the brake pad has been controlled using suitable reinforcement materials like glass, carbon and Kevlar pulp. Brake pad formulations were made using CNSL (cashew net shell liquid) modified phenolic resin as a binder, graphite or cashew dust as a friction modifier and barium sulphate, talc and wollastonite as fillers. Influence of each component on the hardness value has been studied and a proper formulation has been arrived at to obtain hardness values around 35 on Scleroscopic scale. Friction and wear properties of the respective brake pad materials have been measured on a dynamometer and their performance was evaluated.

터널굴착시 지질이상대 통과방안 설계사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Design of Tunnel Excavation in Geological Anomalies)

  • 터널설계를 위해 상세지반조사를 실시한 결과 터널 주요통과구간에 지질이상대로서 암종경계부 및 단층대 구간이 예측되었다. 특히 지질이상대에서 황철석이 분포하는 것을 확인하였으며 대심도 구간 시추조사과정에서 단층파쇄대(F3)에서 피압에 의한 지하수 용출현상이 나타났다. 이에 따라 지질이상대 구간에서의 보강대책을 수립하기 위해 황철석 함유구간에 대한 시설물 보강대책을 검토하였으며, 피압수 다량 구간에서는 침투류 해석 및 차수대책 등 별도의 지보패턴을 계획하였다. 또한 한반도 인근 대지진이 주로 단층대에서 발생하고 있기 때문에 단층대 통과구간에 대해 지반-구조물 상호작호(SSI) 내진해석과 구조물 보강대책을 수립하였다.

Analysis of stability control and the adapted ways for building tunnel anchors and a down-passing tunnel

  • Long-span suspension bridges have tunnel anchor systems to maintain stable cables. More investigations are required to determine how closely tunnel excavation beneath the tunnel anchor impacts the stability of the tunnel anchor. In order to investigate the impact of the adjacent tunnel's excavation on the stability of the tunnel anchor, a large-span suspension bridge tunnel anchor is utilised as an example in a three-dimensional numerical simulation approach. In order to explore the deformation control mechanism, orthogonal tests are employed to pinpoint the major impacting elements. The construction of an advanced pipe shed, strengthening the primary support. Moreover, according to the findings the grouting reinforcement of the surrounding rock, have a significant control effect on the settlement of the tunnel vault and plug body. However, reducing the lag distance of the secondary lining does not have such big influence. The greatest way to control tunnel vault settling is to use the grout reinforcement, which increases the bearing capacity and strength of the surrounding rock. This greatly minimizes the size of the tunnel excavation disturbance area. Advanced pipe shed can not only increase the surrounding rock's bearing capacity at the pipe shed, but can also prevent the tunnel vault from connecting with the disturbance area at the bottom of the anchorage tunnel, reduce the range of shear failure area outside the anchorage tunnel, and have the best impact on the plug body's settlement control.

비회 운송용 유리섬유 복합관 개발 (Development of Composite Fly Ash Pipe)

  • The majority of fly ash pipes in thermal power stations use steel pipes. This makes frequent replacement inevitable due to severe abrasion near the hot and curved section of pipes. Recently, there have been efforts to prevent this abrasion with lining techniques using ceramic or basalt on the inner wall of the pipe. This study uses composite and anti-wear material to maximize the anti-abrasion effects on the hot section of the pipe. The thickness of the abrasion layer was determined by the abrasion ratio of material found through the experiment; the thickness of the reinforcement layer was determined by micromechanics. Experiments were conducted on epoxy resins to test for heat and abrasion. Anti-abrasion test using particle impingement was intended to recreate realistic conditions when abrasion occurs within the hot section of an actual pipe. This study analyzes the abrasion ratio obtained from both the specimen experiment and from on-site measurement and provides evidence that a combination of composites and anti-wear agent can be used to create a fly ash pipe that is lower in costs and higher in quality than what is used currently.

퇴적암 지역에서의 교각 기초 하중을 받는 기존터널의 안정성에 대한 해석적 고찰 (Stability Analysis of Existing Tunnel in Stratified Sedimentary Rocks Subjected to Bridge Pier Load)

  • 경상계 퇴적암은 층리가 잘 발달하고 있어 강도 및 변위 특성은 이방성을 띄기 때문에 터널 등 지반 특성과 밀접하게 관계되는 건설공사 시에 지반의 이방성 특성을 고려한 설계가 필요하다. 경상계 퇴적암을 기반암으로 하여 건설 중인 대구 지하철 2호선은 운영 중에 지하철 노선 상부에 건설되는 것으로 계획된 동서고가도로의 하중을 추가로 받게 된다. 교각 기초에 작용하는 76.2 MN의 고가도로 하중이 하부의 지하철 터널에 미치는 영향을 수치해석으로 검토하였다. 검토결과 지하철 터널 주변 지반은 추가 하중으로 인하여 5∼6 MPa의 응력을 받게되며 콘크리트 라이닝은 8∼10mm의 추가 변위를 받게되어 라이닝의 손상 가능성이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 지하철 운영시의 안전을 위하여 고가도로 교각 기초 부근의 터널은 지하철 공사 시에 적절히 보강되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • In a NATM tunnel, fully grouted bolts are widely used as part of supporting system. Grouted bolts play an important role not as to take some parts of load acting on a tunnel lining but as to reinforce the ground adjacent the tunnel. In conjunction with tunnel construction, the presence of groundwater may pose a number of difficulties. With respect to tunnel design, influences of groundwater on tunnel behavior have been considered in many aspects. However, the effect on grouted bolts has been rarely investigated. In this study, the behavior of grouted bolts, which are affected by the seepage forces, was examined. To investigate the effects of seepage forces, the theoretical solutions for a drained condition were also found. Based on the theoretical solutions, ground reaction curves considering seepage forces were obtained. By comparing the ground reaction curves supported by grouted bolts with those for the unsupported cases, the effect of reinforcement was evaluated. Finally, through comparison between supported ground reaction curves in the drained condition and those in the case of groundwater flow, it was found that the grouted bolts are more structurely beneficial when the seepage occurs towards the tunnel than when there is no groundwater flow.
