  • As the density of memories increases, unwanted interference between cells and the coupling noise between bit-lines become significant, requiring parallel testing. Testing high-density memories for a high degree of fault coverage requires either a relatively large number of test vectors or a significant amount of additional test circuitry. This paper proposes a new tiling method and an efficient built-in self-test (BIST) algorithm for neighborhood pattern-sensitive faults (NPSFs) and new neighborhood bit-line sensitive faults (NBLSFs). Instead of the conventional five-cell and nine-cell physical neighborhood layouts to test memory cells, a four-cell layout is utilized. This four-cell layout needs smaller test vectors, provides easier hardware implementation, and is more appropriate for both NPSFs and NBLSFs detection. A CMOS column decoder and the parallel comparator proposed by P. Mazumder are modified to implement the test procedure. Consequently, these reduce the number of transistors used for a BIST circuit. Also, we present algorithm properties such as the capability to detect stuck-at faults, transition faults, conventional pattern-sensitive faults, and neighborhood bit-line sensitive faults.

  • There have been many studies on extracting building boundaries from LiDAR(Light Detection And Ranging) data. In such studies, points are first segmented, then are further processed to get straight boundary lines that better approximate the real boundaries. In most research in this area, processes like generalization or regularization assume that buildings have only right angles, i.e. all the line segments of the building boundaries are either parallel or perpendicular. However, this assumption is not valid for many buildings. We present a new approach consisting of three steps that is applicable to more complex building boundaries. The three steps consist of boundary tracing, generalization, and regularization. Each step contains algorithms that range from slight modifications of conventional algorithms to entirely new concepts. Four typical building shapes were selected to test the performance of out new approach and the results were compared with digital maps. The results show that the proposed approach has good potential for extracting building boundaries of various shapes.

  • The objectives of this paper are to provide information on the characteristics of the discharge signals in a low-voltage indoor outlet. Most of electrical fires are caused by short circuits, overheating of wires, deterioration and incomplete connection of wiring devices. The last two cases are predictable before the occurrence of fire because of its slow progress. We have simulated the discharge signals caused by the deterioration and incomplete connection of wiring devices using aged outlets. From the experimental data, we could characterize the frequency spectrums of the discharge signals depending on the cases. The higher frequency components of the signal are attenuated by the capacitance and inductance of power lines as the measuring point is getting away from the discharges. Main frequency components of the discharge signal are existent at 600kHz - 1.5MHz in incomplete connections and at 210H7z - 8MHz in deteriorations of the outlet.

  • With recent advancement of remote sensing technology, a variety of data acquisition over the same area is achievable. An automated co-registration of heterogeneous airborne images is a critical step for change detection. This paper describes an automatic method for co-registration between digital image and existing building model. Optimal building models for co-registration purpose are extracted as primitives from existing building model database. A set of homologous features between straight lines extracted from aerial digital image and model primitive are computed based on geometric similarity function. With obtained homologous features, EO parameter is recomputed using least square method. The result shows that die suggested method automatically co-register two data set in a reliable manner.

  • Clubroot disease is caused by the soil-born obligate plant pathogen Plasmodiophora brassicae. This pathogen can infect all cruciferous vegetables and oil crops, including Brassica rapa, B. oleracea, B. napus, and other Brassica species. Clubroot disease is now considered to be a major problem in Chinese cabbage production in China, Korea, and Japan. We collected several hundreds of P. brassicae infected galls from Korea, and isolated the single spore from the collection. For establishment of novel isolation, and mass-propagation methods for singe spore isolates of P. brassicae pathogen, we developed new filtration method using both cellulose nitrate filter and syringe filter. Accurate detection of P. brassicae pathogen in the field was done by using real-time PCR in the potential infested soil. When we tested the different pathogenicity on commercial Chinese cabbage varieties, P. brassicae from collected galls showed various morphological patterns about clubroot symptom on roots. To date, 8 CR loci have been identified in the B. rapa genome using the quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping approach, with different resistant sources and isolates. We are trying to develop the molecular marker systems for detect all 8 CR resistant genes. Especially for the study on the interaction between pathogens and CR loci which are not well understood until now, genome wide association studies are doing using the sequenced inbred lines of Chinese cabbage to detect the novel CR genes.

  • This paper presents $H{\alpha}$ emission line detections for four galaxies at z > 3.5 made with AKARI as part of the FUHYU mission program. These are the highest-redshift $H{\alpha}$ detections to date in star-forming galaxies. AKARI's unique near-infrared spectroscopic capability has made these detections possible. For two of these galaxies, this represents the first evidence of their redshifts and confirms their physical association with a companion radio galaxy. The star formation rates (SFRs) estimated from the $H{\alpha}$ lines under-predict the SFRs estimated from their far-infrared luminosities by a factor of ~ 2 - 3. We have also detected broad $H{\alpha}$ components in the two radio galaxies which indicate the presence of quasars.

  • The intelligent monitoring system has been successfully applied in many fields such as: monitoring of production lines, transportation, etc. Smart surveillance systems have been developed and proven effective in some specific areas such as monitoring of human activity, traffic, etc. Most of critical application monitoring systems involve object tracking as one of the key steps. However, task of tracking of moving object is not easy. In this paper, the authors propose a method to implement human object tracking in outdoor environment based on human features in shearlet domain. The proposed method uses shearlet transform which combines the human features with context-sensitiveness in order to improve the accuracy of human tracking. The proposed algorithm not only improves the edge accuracy, but also reduces wrong positions of the object between the frames. The authors validated the proposed method by calculating Euclidean distance and Mahalanobis distance values between centre of actual object and centre of tracked object, and it has been found that the proposed method gives better result than the other recent available methods.

  • Virtual metrology (VM) model based on plasma information (PI) parameter for C4F8 plasma-assisted oxide etching processes is developed to predict and monitor the process results such as an etching rate with improved performance. To apply fault detection and classification (FDC) or advanced process control (APC) models on to the real mass production lines efficiently, high performance VM model is certainly required and principal component regression (PCR) is preferred technique for VM modeling despite this method requires many number of data set to obtain statistically guaranteed accuracy. In this study, as an effective method to include the 'good information' representing parameter into the VM model, PI parameters are introduced and applied for the etch rate prediction. By the adoption of PI parameters of b-, q-factors and surface passivation parameters as PCs into the PCR based VM model, information about the reactions in the plasma volume, surface, and sheath regions can be efficiently included into the VM model; thus, the performance of VM is secured even for insufficient data set provided cases. For mass production data of 350 wafers, developed PI based VM (PI-VM) model was satisfied required prediction accuracy of industry in C4F8 plasma-assisted oxide etching process.

  • Recently, the failures of electrical equipment have been reduced due to the improvement of its quality and the advance of operation techniques but the failure rates caused by natural disasters such as wind and lightning have been increased. To reduce the failures due to lightning, it is necessary for insulation design of transmission lines to be done, effectively. Also the analysis on the lightning characteristics is essential to the effective insulation design. In this paper, we describe lightning distribution, multiplicity, IKL(Iso-Keraunic Level) and amplitude distribution of lightning current base on the lightning data by KLDNet.

  • This paper reports the conceptual design process for a floating metocean data measurement system (FMDMS) for measuring wind information at sea. The FMDMS consists of three circular pontoons, columns, and a deck, which the LiDAR (lighting detection and ranging) is installed on. The dynamics of the mooring lines and motion responses of the FMDMS were analyzed using commercial codes such as WAMIT and OrcaFlex. One design criterion of the developed FMDMS was to maintain the motion responses as small as possible to enhance the LiDAR's accuracy. Starting with the preliminary design parameters such as the FMDMS's principal dimensions, weight, and important parameters of mooring system, we checked whether the FMDMS met the design requirements at each design stage, and then made modifications as necessary. The developed FMDMS showed a large pitch behavior for a small heave motion.
