Development of Pipe Fault Inspection System using Computer Vision (컴퓨터 비젼을 이용한 파이프 불량 검사시스템 개발)

  • A computer-vision based pipe-inspection algorithm is developed. The algorithm uses the modified Hough transformation and a line-scanning approach to identify the edge line and the radius of the pipe image, from which the eccentricity and dimension of the pipe-end is calculated. Line and circle detection was performed using Laplace operator with input image, which are acquired from the front and side cameras. In order to minimize the memory usage and the processing time, a clustering method with the modified Hough transformation is introduced for line detection. The dimension of inner and outer radius of pipe is calculated by the proposed line-scanning method. The method scans several lines along the X and Y axes, calculating the eccentricity of inner and outer circle, by which pipes with wrong end-shape can be classified and removed.

  • This paper derive a method to solve change point regression problems via a process for obtaining consequential results using properties of a difference-based intercept estimator first introduced by Park and Kim (Communications in Statistics - Theory Methods, 2019) for outlier detection in multiple linear regression models. We describe the statistical properties of the difference-based regression model in a piecewise simple linear regression model and then propose an efficient algorithm for change point detection. We illustrate the merits of our proposed method in the light of comparison with several existing methods under simulation studies and real data analysis. This methodology is quite valuable, "no matter what regression lines" and "no matter what the number of change points".

  • Monoclonal antibodies were prepared in order to an assay method for Vibrio vulnificus. Sixteen mouse ybridoma cell lines were established by immunization of whole cell antigen to BALB/c mice, fusion with SP2/O myeloma cells, and cloning. Most of them secreted IgM.lambda. antibodies. A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was developed with rabbit anti-V. vulnificus polyclonal antibodies as capture antibody, an IgM monoclonal antibody as detector antibody, and goat anti-mouse IgM-alkaline phosphatase conjugate as developer antibody. The range of detection was 10$\^$4/ to 10 V. vulnificus cells per microplate well. When four related Vibrio species were tested for cross-reactions, V. parahaemolyticus showed 3.5% reactively and V. carchariae, V. fluvialis, and V. furnisii showed negligibal (<1%) cross-reactivity.

  • We have developed a vision based crack detection system and algorithm to inspect base side of bridges. After human operator decides from vision images captured if lines on base side are cracks or dirt, our algorithm finds automatically the length, the width and the shape of cracks. The system has been tested with a robot extender on a truck in real environment and has been proved to be very useful to reduce inspection cost as well as the data management.

  • A high speed frame synchronization system has been realized which generates the frame sync clock from 565Mb/s data stream (the DS-5 digital multiplex hierarchy signal). The design of a frame pattern detector using a parallel detection method brings into low speed operation and resolves the problems due to the high speed operation. The frame synchronization algorithm recommended by CCITT is also realized by designing a sync mode controller. Appropriate design procedures are considered for an efficient hardware design and minimized connection lines. The CAD simulation as well as experiment show that the performance of the newly designed frame synchronization system satisfies the relevant requirements.

  • The aim of this work is the real-time road edge detection using the fast processing of Cellular Analogic Parallel Processing Networks(CAPPN). The CAPPN is composed of 2D analog cell way. If the dynamic programming is implemented with the CAPPN, the optimal path can be detected in parallel manner Provided that fragments of road edge are utilized as the cost inverse(benefit) in the CAPPN-based optimal path algorithm, the CAPPN determines the most plausible path as the road edge line. Benefits of the proposed algorithm are the fast processing and the utilization of optimal technique to determine the road edge lines.

  • k-bounded circuits are combinational circuits proposed by Fujiwara whose subcircuits are partitioned in a way that they form a tree and have some restricted k inputs respectively. Fujiwara proposed a O($16^{k}m$) fault detection algorithm for k-bounded circuits where m is the number of signal lines in the circuit. This algorithm is very ineffective to be applied to real circuits, even for small values of k. In this paper, it is shown that a single stuck-at fault in k-bounded circuits can be detected in O($2^{k}m$)time, and multiple stuck-at faults are detected in O($4^{k}m$) time by using thable lookup and imput partitionsing.

  • Linear feature such as lines and curves are one of important features in image processing. In this paper, new method of linear feature detection is suggested. Also, we have studied approximation technique which transforms detected linear feature into data structure for the practical. This method is based on graph theory and principle of this method is based on minimal spanning tree concept which is widely used in edge linking process. By postprocessing, Hairs and inconsistent line segments are removed. To approximate and describe traced linear feature, piecewise linear approximation is adapted. The algorithm is demonstrated through computer simulations.
