The species diversity of plant communities is quantitatively measured, and can be affected by plant monitoring methods. This study experimentally compared the structure and diversity of plant communities living in five waterfront park areas in Nak-dong River using three plant survey methods (modified Whittaker, modified Daubenmire, and modified point-line intercept method). According to the diversity profile, the modified Whittaker method produced the highest species richness regardless of the location, but which method makes the highest diversity of dominant species varies depending on the location. The Beta diversity of the communites calculated from the modified Whittaker and the modified Daubenmire suggested that structures of plant communities in five locations were similar, while the Point-line interception method suggested that a small number of dominant species were shared between communities.
Though an internet survey, an alternative method for the off-line survey, has various merits is, it still has some problems such as sampling bias and low reliability from insincerity during survey. Especially the exogenous variables such as sample respondents of the environment should be controlled to make internet survey trustworthy. This study attempts to design and implement such system that can help researchers to control the network and sampling environment and behaviors on respondents. Thru the various Question forms and structured Questionnaire design, this study tries to contribute the improvement of survey satisfaction and the reliability for survey result in internet survey system.

Registration between image and object space is a fundamental step in photogrammetry and computer vision. Along with rapid development of sensors - multi/hyper spectral sensor, laser scanning sensor, radar sensor etc., the needs for registration between different sensors are ever increasing. There are two important considerations on different sensor registration. They are sensor invariant feature extraction and correspondence between them. Since point to point correspondence does not exist in image and laser scanning data, it is necessary to have higher entities for extraction and correspondence. This leads to modify first, existing mathematical and geometrical model which was suitable for point measurement to line measurements, second, matching scheme. In this research, linear feature is selected for sensor invariant features and matching entity. Linear features are incorporated into mathematical equation in the form of extended collinearity equation for registration problem known as photo resection which calculates exterior orientation parameters. The other emphasis is on the scheme of finding matched entities in the aide of RANSAC (RANdom SAmple Consensus) in the absence of correspondences. To relieve computational load which is a common problem in sampling theorem, deterministic sampling technique and selecting 4 line features from 4 sectors are applied.
Till now, much progress has been made in election forecasting. But fixed-line telephone survey has limitations, because it has become more and more difficult to get a representative sample, Exit poll has been considered to provide a new solution. From the beginning, exit poll provided more accurate predictions than those based on surveys using fixed-line phone. In 2002 presidential election, prediction based on exit poll was perfect. Its predictive error was zero. This paper describes how the exit poll was done in 2002 presidential elections. Specifically, we are to show the estimating procedures as well as sampling and polling process. Among many factors, sampling procedure has been fond to be the most important factor in exit poll accuracy.

In this paper, the induction motor bearing fault diagnosis system using current signals which are measured by over-sampling method is presented. In the case of inverter fed motor drive unlike line-driven motor drive, that make a lot of noise which can cause a wrong fault signals because of PWM(pulse width modulation) voltage. So, the current signals for fault diagnosis need very precise and high resolution information, which means this system demand additional hardware such as low pass filter, high resolution ADC system and so on to use fault diagnosis system. Therefore, the proposed over-sampling method is expected to contribute to low cost fault diagnosis system even though previous inverter fed motor drive without any additional hardware. In order to confirm the presented algorithms, various experiments for bearing faults are tested and the line current spectrum of each faulty situation using park transformation is compared with a FFT results.

This paper examines the sampling and jitter specifications and considerations for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) software receivers. Software radio (SWR) technologies are being used in the implementation of communication receivers in general and GNSS receivers in particular. With the advent of new GPS signals, and a range of new Galileo and GLONASS signals soon becoming available, GNSS is an application where SWR and software-defined radio (SDR) are likely to have an impact. The sampling process is critical for SWR receivers, where it occurs as close to the antenna as possible. One way to achieve this is by BandPass Sampling (BPS), which is an undersampling technique that exploits aliasing to perform downconversion. BPS enables removal of the IF stage in the radio receiver. The sampling frequency is a very important factor since it influences both receiver performance and implementation efficiency. However, the design of BPS can result in degradation of Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) due to the out-of-band noise being aliased. Important to the specification of both the ADC and its clocking Phase- Locked Loop (PLL) is jitter. Contributing to the system jitter are the aperture jitter of the sample-and-hold switch at the input of ADC and the sampling-clock jitter. Aperture jitter effects have usually been modeled as additive noise, based on a sinusoidal input signal, and limits the achievable Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). Jitter in the sampled signal has several sources: phase noise in the Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) within the sampling PLL, jitter introduced by variations in the period of the frequency divider used in the sampling PLL and cross-talk from the lock line running parallel to signal lines. Jitter in the sampling process directly acts to degrade the noise floor and selectivity of receiver. Choosing an appropriate VCO for a SWR system is not as simple as finding one with right oscillator frequency. Similarly, it is important to specify the right jitter performance for the ADC. In this paper, the allowable sampling frequencies are calculated and analyzed for the multiple frequency BPS software radio GNSS receivers. The SNR degradation due to jitter in a BPSK system is calculated and required jitter standard deviation allowable for each GNSS band of interest is evaluated. Furthermore, in this paper we have investigated the sources of jitter and a basic jitter budget is calculated that could assist in the design of multiple frequency SWR GNSS receivers. We examine different ADCs and PLLs available in the market and compare known performance with the calculated budget. The results obtained are therefore directly applicable to SWR GNSS receiver design.

Most of fast block motion estimation algorithms reported so far in literatures aim to reduce the computation in terms of the number of search points, thus do not fit well with multimedia processors due to their irregular data flow. For multimedia processors, proper reuse of data is more important than reducing number of absolute difference operations because the execution cycle performance strongly depends on the number of off-chip memory access. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a Hexagon-shape line search (HEXSLS) algorithm using line search pattern which can increase data reuse from on-chip local buffer, and check sub-sampling points in line search pattern to reduce unnecessary SAD operation. Our experimental results show that the prediction error (MAE) performance of the proposed HEXSLS is similar to that of the full search block matching algorithm (FSBMA), while compared with the hexagon-based search (HEXBS), the HEXSLS outperforms. Also the proposed HEXSLS requires much lesser off-chip memory access than the conventional fast motion estimation algorithm such as the hexagon-based search (HEXBS) and the predictive line search (PLS). As a result, the proposed HEXSLS algorithm requires smaller number of execution cycles on media processor.

POSCO $\#2$ Stainless steel making plant produces more than 600 thousand ton per year with a variety of products consisting of austenite and ferrite stainless steel to meet custrmers' needs since 1996. The plant has four different major processes, that are, EAF-AOD-VOD-CC to finally produce semi-product called as slab. In this study, we importantly took AOD process into consideration due to its roles such as to check and verify the final qualities through sampling inspection. But the lead-time from sampling to its verification takes five to ten minutes causing produrtivity loss as muck as the lead-time as a result. Of all indices for quality and process control the plant has, carbon ingredient in liquid type of steel is the most important since it affects in a great way to the characteristics of steel, if any problem. customers not satisfied with quality could issue a claim; therefore there is no way hut to guarantee it before delivery. in this study, to reasonably reduce lead-time ran save a cycle time and finally improve our productivity from a state-or-art alternative just such as applying statistical model based on multi-regression analysis into the A.O.D line by analyzing the statistical and technical relationship between carbon and the relevant some vital independent variables. In consequence, the model with R-square $87\%$ allowed the plant to predict, abbreviating the process in relations to sampling to verification. approximately the value of [C] so that operators could run the process line with reliability on data automatically calculated instead of actual inspection. In the future, we are going to do the best to share this type of methodology with other processes, if possible, to apply into them.

The objective of this research was to assess the amount of carbon stock of coarse woody debris (CWD) in Bombo-Lumene Reserve. Data on lying CWD was collected on 35 circular sampling plots using Line Intersect Sampling (LIS) method. A total of 230 samples CWD (${\geq}10cm$ diameter) were inventoried. The mean carbon stocks of CWD was $29.48Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}$, ranging from 4.32 to $73.54Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}$. The CWD carbon stocks displayed a wide range of variation in decay states. The allocation of CWD among the decay class of all the CWD samples reveals that the most important classes were class 1 and class 3 with 323.66 and $321.96Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}$, followed by class 4 with 264.56 and the last one was class 2 with $121.72Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}$. The results suggested that the dead wood component is important in carbon sequestration and should be taken into consideration for quantification of carbon stocks not only in Bombo-Lumene Reserve, but in all forest ecosystems in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This study was to evaluate the efficiency of diffusive monitor using activated carbon fiber(ACF, KF-1500) in measuring airborne organic solvents. The following characteristics were identified and studied as critical to the performance of diffusive monitor; recovery, sampling rate, face velocity, reverse diffusion and storage stability. For the evaluation of the performance of this monitor, MIBK, PCE, toluene were used as organic solvents. In the sampling rate experiments, eight kinds of solvents (n-hexane, MEK, DIBK, MCF, TCE, CB, xylene, cumene) as well as the above solvents were used. The results were as follows: 1. The desorption efficiencies(DE's) of ACF diffusive monitor ranged from 83 % to 101 %. In contrast, those of coconut shell charcoal ranged from 78 % to 102 %. Especially, the DE's of ACF for the polar solvents such as MEK were superior to those of charcoal. 2. Experimental sampling rates on ACF were average 42ml/min(37-46ml/min) for 11 organic solvents at $24{\pm}2^{\circ}C$, $50{\pm}5%RH$. However ideal sampling rates(DA/L) were 33 % higher than experimental sampling rates. 3. The initial response(15~16 min) of the testing monitor was 2 times higher than the actual concentration determined by the reference methods at $24{\pm}2^{\circ}C$, $8{\pm}5%RH$ and $80{\pm}5%RH$. Within 1 hours, the curve reached a linear horizontal line at low humidity condition. But sampling efficiencies decreased with respect to time at high humidity condition. And sampling efficiencies were higher at high humidity condition than low humidity condition for MIBK. 4. At very low velocity (less than 0.02 m/sec), the concentration of ACF diffusive monitor were poorly estimated. But ACF diffusive monitor were not affected at higher velocity(0.2 m/sec-0.6 m/sec). 5. There was no significant reverse diffusion when the ACF monitors were exposed to clean air for 2 hours after being exposed for 2 hours at the level of 1 TLV. 6. There was no significant sample loss during 3 weeks of storage at room temperature and 5 weeks of storage at refrigeration.
